"Invitations will be extended to them, and they are free to accept or decline. Though," Jett added with a wry smile, "It would look better for them to join in the celebrations, so I am certain they will be attending, whether they wish to or not."

"Alright then..." Illusia let his eyes move over everyone present. "The evening is going to be noisy so I suggest you who wants to, that came from Arinas, get some rest, especially Celia. If you now will feel up to the party," he told the knight, looking at her while speaking to her. He turned back to Jett. "My Lord, I'll handle today's business as well, you take your time resting," he smiled.

It seemed there was a need to have a mental... conversation. Somebody hadn't understood the ground rules yet, and he ought to have collected himself from the reprimand earlier. Liozu tilted his head in the barest indication of a bow, and slipped out of the room the moment they were allowed to leave. As to not cause any undue attention or concern, he sat down in one of the deep windowsills that littered the wall, the sunlight warm on the stone. Good enough. Liozu closed his eyes and just... relaxed.

***

The mind is a mysterious place, and a person can do a lot to themselves and still stand up under stress. This recent strange split of personality of Liozu's, however, wasn't self-inflicted. In fact, Liozu hadn't been in control except for bare seconds in the whole day.

"It seems I haven't made things clear to you; you stay, I play. Simple," she smiled, voice full of velvet and honey. Soft silk concealing razors. Her black hair cascaded down her back and pooled on the floor in loose waves as she walked up to stand in front of Liozu, who was hanging from... nothing, really, held in place by thin, glittering threads of poison.

"What're you even doing here? Get out,"
Liozu's voice was raspy, and he looked tired, hanging limply in the threads.

"Oh, baby. I'm not even close to finished!" she laughed, crystal shards and blood red, the light, coming from seemingly nowhere, glancing off the threads Liozu was suspended off and highlighing her pink bangs and red eyes. She was beautiful, the cruel tilt of her smile and hard gleam in her eyes only enhancing it.

"So be a nice boy and stay there for the duration. It'll be much easier for you that way. I won't mind giving you another reminder, darling, but you certainly won't like it."

Liozu glared, fists tightening, but he couldn't get anywhere.
"Who the <********> are you?" he didn't swear often, but stress made it slip out.

Laughing, she shook her head, brushing down the extremely low cut dress' front, getting rid of some imagined dirt from her bosom.
"The Youkai Empress. And now not even Nadil is here to restrict me. I'll have what I want," with a sneer, she blew kiss and left Liozu hanging in their now-shared mind. Had Liozu lived longer and had dreams from further into that age, he would have recognized the youkai. As it was, she was nothing but an intruder. An intruder that showed off a lot of breast and leg.

A small smile of definate relief spread across Jett's features. "Thank you very much, Illusia. I am very grateful. Then, that is all, metting dismissed." Jett closed his eyes, and let the others leave the room first, before standing up and leaving the room.

((^^ Alright. Well, it was basically to wait and let you post if you wanted. ;P We can't just skip you, you know.
Oh, and sorry, Manda, that we didn't wait for your reply on this but MSN and AIM are screwing over here and I'm doing this before school. >.<; ))

As the day crept on, the sun made its way upon the heaves until it began to set. The sun was still visible and some distance, although not much, above the horizon when the clock said ten minutes left to grand opening, meaning ten to eight. The sky had begun to color in some shades of pink and orange and most of the guests were beginning to arrive now.
The maids had almost worked themselves dead, though some had been saved the work since they were going to serve and attend to the guests at the party, which could go well past midnight. At sharp eight first the Dragon Lord would make his entrance and some minutes later the Queen-to-be was expected to make herself known. The Secretaries and knights would either probably come a bit before their lord or with him as he entered.

((=D There. Now you can either place yourselves IN the ballroom or just outside the doors which first Jett and then Micoi will go, if you want to go in with Jett. ^^ Or you can be in your rooms, finishing up your appearance or something else. XD; ))

Celia was a bit nervous. She had never been to any kind of party before, so far as she could remember....least not one so grand, or for any such important an event. She hurried to get ready wearing a long, sleeveless light blue dress. It almost seemed to flow like water all the way to the floor. The tool was a little annoying, but she thought that it was best to try something...more dressy than her usual attire, and that was basically the only thing she owned. The dress had a high collar, and the torso was ribbed. There was a large keyhole, starting at just above her collarbone, and dipping down to just above her chest, where it connected with a smaller keyhole. Around her neck was a small, brilliant blue gem hanging on a thin silver chain. A sheer piece of cloth lay over the bottom portion of the dress, hanging delicately off to the one side, only for decoration, and had loose fitting strips of fabric hanging down and around from her mid-upper arm, just for decoration. Also, she wore elbow-length gloves that didn't cover her entire hand; just wrapping around her middle fingers. For once, Celia had decided it would be best for her to wear her hair down; So, she let it drop down to her waist, and pinned back what she could of her bangs (which wasn't much) with small circular stones much like the one on the necklace. She had decided to forgoe shoes, as the brace on her leg wouldn't allow for anything suiting the occasion. She finished putting on some very faint, silvery-blue eyeshadow that seemed destined for this dress, a pair of long, dangling silver earings, and then a very pale pink lipgloss. She looked up at Yoko, who had insisted on comming.

He wore a tiny black bow tie. He smiled as only a bird can, and then peeped, as if to say that everything was ready now, but then stopped, and said "Kahaku!!"

Celia let out a little groan. Again the idea flashed through her mind that Kahaku most likely thought it had been a mistake to choose her as his knight. She sighed, and picked up her sword, deciding just to cary it....she wasn't sure if the dragons were supposed to come or not, but she assumed so. She just hoped she wouldn't have to let him out. "come on then...."she said, with a bit of a smile at the white puff on the ledge beside her as he fluttered to her shoulder. She turned off the lights, and headed out of her book-filled room, limping a bit down the hallway towards the party. She had intentionally forgotten the crutches.

((LLLLOONNNGG (for me)....By the way, Dress.....I know it sounds weird, but I drew a picture, and I like it....so I'm just gonna go with it....If I did anything stupid in this post that would infringe upon any kind of plot-point (which i have been well known to do) please allert me.....I'm tired, and my brain is....fried, with homework. that includes if i may or may have not made this a bit too formal...but....I thought it was supposed ot be formal so.... sweatdrop ))

((<333 I've been waiting for this, too. <3 *wants to see people all pretty*))

The start of the festivities found Nieth, slightly more irritable than usual, standing in the kitchens giving a handful of last minute orders to the maids hard at work there.

"Remember. The entree won't be ready for another hour, so as soon as more than five or six have arrived, bring out the appetizers. Keep them cool until then. You know the proper arrangement and serving order, I trust. If you're confused, don't come to me. Ask someone else. Now, you girls," she turned to the cluster of maids waiting patiently, if nervously, off to the side of the grease and smoke of the stoves. "You will be helping me, yes? Good. Pick up your trays and get out there, all of you. It will be busy enough soon."

Pausing as they scurried to do as she said, she plucked a strand of black hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. The young ladies picked to wait on the party-goers and she were all wearing slightly fancier versions of their uniforms, the dark material trimmed with gold and the dresses themselves a little tigher and more fashionable than usual. The result was a sleek, if somewhat understated, appearance, one that was crafted to impress any visiting foreigners.

Nieth finished smoothing out her carefully settled appearance and took hold of one of the wheeled trays herself, smiling welcomingly as she stepped out of the kitchens into the large (and nicely cleaned) hall. She would only be waiting on guests for the first hour or so, then she would join the upper members of the Dragon Clan at the main table, and she looked forward hungrily to that rest.

Baran was nervous. He had never attended one of the Dragon Clan's fancy dinners before, even as a guard. He had donned the "formal" uniform he had been issued upon joining the force and that he had never had the need to put on before. To be honest, he saw no difference between it and his normal one, save for slightly softer material and a small emblem over his heart.

Instead of sleeping for as long as he had wanted to, he had forced himself to wake up early and polish his one pair of boots, and now he stifled a yawn.

Tugging at his collar nervously, he loitered outside the main entrance to the castle, having walked over from the Dragon Fighter's Guild through the gardens. It didn't sound like anyone was in there yet, much less anyone he knew.

"Damn," Baran muttered to himself in a vain attempt to raise his nerve, "I know this is supposed to be an honor, but I think I'd just as soon miss it."

Standing inside her private chambers, the Black Dragon Officer was finishing dressing, a little uncomfortable in her clothes. She wasn't used to dressing for these formal occasions, although she had done so many times before. To make things worse, she had decided to forgo her normal "fancy attire" outfit of silken slacks and an elaboratly designed tunic for a dress. The official introduction of the Dragon Queen was not the sort of event you took casually, after all, and she didn't want to run the very real risk of underdressing.

That was why Aiketh found herself staring at a full-length reflection of herself, although dressed in nothing she had worn before. The thin skirt of her dark blue dress fell down to her ankles and was slitted on her right up to her mid-thigh. The empty space over her gray-stockinged flesh was crossed over loosely several times with a slender navy cord that served to prevent it from slipping open when moving about but still give her mobility enough to fight if needed. Her shoulders were covered by inch-thick straps that held the wide neckline of her dress just below her collar bone. A thin silver chain could be seen sliding over her neck and down beneath the start of her dress. The dress itself was fitted, but not tightened around her flesh, although it was laced with thin cord up her back. She wore low hard sandals, their black material covering her the bottoms and sides of her feet. A low-riding black belt hung at her hips, carrying a smoothly curved blade in a formal dark leather hilt. It was more for formality and note of her rank than anything. If anything were to happen, she would use it only until she had enough control of the situation to summon her actual sword.

Aiketh shook her head at her image in the mirror beside her dresser, debating whether to pin her hair up or leave it down. No matter. She was out of time to prepare any further. She needed to be downstairs, and soon.

Hastily pulling her hair back from her face and tying it up with several tight loops of the same ribbon that adorned her dress, Aiketh stepped out into the hallway, making her way down to the formalities.

((*is actually tired but has to make some post she guess*))

Illusia hadn't stood there a long time, actually just arrived to tell the truth, by the double doors, which Jett would make his entrance through and then also the Queen. Teioz had offered to go on ahead "into the lion's den", so to speak, and keep the more important people calm.
The Secretary of the State was dressed in an ankle-long, quite elaborate coat of seagreen with long sleeves that was kept closed at the waist by a fairly broad, golden sash. Below it, he wore a cream colored shirt with lightly balloon-shaped sleeves and a a pair of similar colored, slightly baggy pants that were neatly tucked into his low, mahogany-red boots, reaching to the middle of his lower leg. Both parts of his white outfit had some gold embroidery on it and as a finsihing touch, Illusia wore white gloves and his long hair was kept back in a ponytail at his shoulders with a black ribbon.
He suspected that both Aiketh and Jett would be coming soon, along with the knights.

As the clock had neared eight and the sun had fallen across the sky, Micoi had gotten greater and greater urge to try her luck at jumping out the window she had kept open ever since opening it and make a run for it. She wasn't used to so many people, she had seen quite a few as they arrived. Really, she bet she had never been around so many people at any moment in her whole life, it just made her feel nervouse... a lot. But really, what a sight that would be. The queen running from her own introduction party... or whatever this was. No, she would just have to try and succeed in this.
For the... she had lost count, time she walked over to the mirror hanging on the inside of the wardrobe and looked at herself. That... did so not look like her. She sighed and pushed a few strands back into her forelocks. Hopefully this evening would be over quickly.

((And you drew a picture, Sujika? ^^ I would love to see it. Do you have a scanner?))
PostPosted: Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:46 pm

((I actually don't have a scanner.....so if i get a chance at like....a library or something, i'de scan it.....^.^*))

Celia arrived just after Akeith, but still somehow before Baran, and waved to the Black Dragon officer as well as Illusia. She tried her best not to limp, and was quite thankful her dress was long eneough to keep her leg from view. "Wow, you both look great!"She said, smiling at the two. She seemed a little unsure of herself, mostly from having no idea whatsoever how one was supposed to act at this kind of thing. She held her sword gingerly behind her back, again, not entirely sure whether it was approperate to have it with her. However, if Kahaku needed to be there, it would be in the sword.

"You look lovely yourself," Aiketh said, noting with approval the way Celia's very dress seemed to mimic her element of choice. "It is a nice dress on you."

She turned to Illusia, not commenting on his appearance, but carefully meeting his eyes. "Are we to enter as we arrive? Or do some of us need to wait for Lord Jett?"

Baran trotted up, nervous grin in place, as Aiketh placed her question to the Yellow Dragon Officer.

"Hey. What's going on?"

He looked at the others, feeling distinctly like a member of the working class in the face of their elaborate outfits and (so he thought) poise.
