It took Earendil a while to fall asleep. The excitement for the next day kept him awake for quite a while. But once he did sleep, he slept well, and when morning came he bathed and dressed before heading down for breakfast. He had no idea what he would need for the day, so he supposed that himself would be enough.
Usually he would escort Lin and Miyuki down to breakfast, but he had to speak with Aerin first and make sure it was all right for him to take that particular day off before they finalized their plans. Of course, it was no trouble for her, and so it was after speaking with Aerin that he headed back to Lin's room to collect her and Miyuki.

Fortunately for Lin, Miyuki was far too excited about the new babies to pay any attention to what her mother was doing, which was just as well. Lin didn't want Miyuki to be asking, or even to make a fuss once she realized today's lesson would not be taught by Mummi or Ada.
She also knew that Earendil would be a bit longer than usual because he probably had to ask Aerin first.
"Where's ada?"
Miyuki kept checking the door, he was taking longer than usual!

Seconds after Miyuki's question was voiced, Earendil reached the room, and he knocked on the door gently. There was no need to knock hard, by now he knew they would be awake, and he didn't want to wake the sleeping babies in the next room. He had heard them during the night, and he had a feeling Rhea would be grateful for all the sleep she could get.

"Ada!" Miyuki cried out and tried to open the door, which didn't work as she couldn't open the door at her age and height.
Lin chuckled as she opened the door for Miyuki allowing the little girl to plow straight into him.
"Good morning," she told him cheerily.

"Good morning," Earendil chuckled, catching Miyuki and giving her a hug. "I hope you slept well. Did you hear the babies at all last night?"
He knew Lin's hearing wasn't elven, but he wasn't sure how human - or angel - hearing was exactly.

Lin chuckled at that, "I certainly did, and even if I had been sleeping deeply enough to not hear it, Miyuki certainly did."
Miyuki had it worse than her and ended up hiding under her wing to try and muffle the sound.
In response the little girl's ears folded against her skull, "They were loud..."

Earendil stroked Miyuki's hair gently. "There, there," he murmured. "That's what babies do when they need to tell their parents something. They cry because they can't talk, and they can't otherwise let their parents know that they need something."
He smiled. "Just wait. In time, they will stop crying so much."
He looked over at Lin. "Shall we go for breakfast?" he asked.

"Let's," Lin nodded at this.
She was hungry, and she was sure that Miyuki was too, and it would be another busy day ahead of them. Taking Miyuki's hand she let Earendil lead the way.

Aurin was present in the dining room, looking very tired but still very proud.
Earendil smiled widely, then turned to Lin. "We should talk to him before we eat," he murmured, nodding in Aurin's direction. "See if Rhea's up for visitors."

That was a good point then they wouldn't have to check later and possibly end up bothering Rhea.
"That would be a good idea," Lin nodded.
Though from the looks of it, if Aurin was looking very tired then Rhea must be quite tired.

Earendil ushered Miyuki to her seat so that she could start her breakfast, then took Lin's hand and headed over to Aurin. The captain was eating, but he stopped when he saw the two approaching him.
Earendil grinned and reached out to shake the man's hand. "Congratulations, Aurin," he said warmly. "Double blessings."
"Indeed," Aurin chuckled, shaking Earendil's hand. "And doubly surprising, since even Rhea had no idea ahead of time."

Lin had to chuckle at that, "Rhea surprised, that must have been something."
It was very rare for Rhea to be caught off guard like that, even though she knew it wasn't the first time. Like who could have predicted that Leyenda would have come back married?

Aurin chuckled at that. "It is rare, but it does happen," he smiled. "Earendil, I know you saw them for a moment yesterday, but Lin, you haven't ... after breakfast, I'll be taking Rhea something to eat. If you would like to accompany me, I'm sure she would love some visitors."

"I would love that," Lin admitted, "I was hoping to visit her."
So was Miyuki for that matter, so this would be perfect.

"Good," Aurin smiled widely. "Good. Then when you are finished eating, let me know and I will take you to her."
"Thank you," Earendil replied warmly. He turned to usher Lin to her seat, but just at that moment, Leyenda and Kelirahc entered the dining hall, with Amalirahc following. He nudged Lin's side gently. "Going to ask Leyenda?" he asked her with a grin.
