The elf sat cross-legged on the floor of the stable, below the level of the half-door to prevent her being seen. She idly twisted the straw between her fingers, plaiting it thickly absent-mindedly as she thought, her eyes staring at the opposite wall, ignoring the motion of her hands.

Hrorik had slowly returned by the rooftops of Minas Tirith rather than the streets. He figured there would be a riot if Amaroq and himself walked the streets. He shrugged his shoulders and as he reached the stables he gently hopped down off Amaroq and looked up in surprise to find the elf there twiddling with straw. He and Amaroq sat in a corner opposite the elf. Amaroq began cleaning his fur and Hrorik started check all his weapons to make sure that they were in prime condition.

With nothing else to do Bimithor limped into the tavern. "Oh, you're here." He directed to the ranger

Images flashed before her eyes as she stared into her meek little camp fire. Nova decided to follow the first ranger, the familiar one. He was more interesting than the elf or the other rangers. She sighed at the lonesome sight. A touch of her inner-self longed to be with him. Nova wondered why this was. She had never met the ranger nor even knows his name! She cut herself out of the picture as she slumped, no longer hungry. Then, as if to reasure herself, she checked on him one last time, and notibly saw one of the other rangers limp tward him. Good, he won't be lonely. Wait, what? Nova thought, oddly and utterly confused.

Ranu's eye twitched slightly at the words, "Yes." He replied. "I am in the tavern, where it strikes me most of our people linger." His words were bitter as he took a deep drink of the beer before him, cloak fluttering.

Elrothiel ignored the company as she gradually moulded the straw into woven shapes, setting each of them in a line as she finished it, allowing the work to calm her as she fluctuated between concentrating and ignoring her hands.

He smiled at the ranger through his mask and sat down taking the other drink

Images of the elen woman in a stable portrayed next. There was a vague familiarity about this elf, as if she was a memory from a different life time. Through the elf's eyes, she saw a man and a large wolf, big enough to support the weight of the man and provitions. Nova reached out to his consiousness, but was somehow blocked, like a wall. Then a firey pain striked her head, and she keeled over in pain. She quit her attempt and rolled onto her back, panting slightly. "All this is taking too much energy," Nova cussed lightly under her breath. She lay lathargically, watching the last rays of the sun streach hopefully out into the blue-black sky with no luck. A star was seen opposite side of the waning sun, and more soon followed. Nova sighed.

Ranu sat silently a moment, eyes on the door as he drew out a pipe. He lit it slowly, glancing at the other man, reaching into his pack and drawing out a pouch of pipe-weed. "Need any?"

"No thanks..."

Bimithor took out his pipe took out his own weed and started smoking out of his pipe

"Fair enough." The ranger replied, flicking his eyes towards the door. The elf clearly wasn't going to come. "Do you ever feel you're being watched?"

Nova awoke with a start. She decided she wouldn't be gone long, so she hurried outside and tested the wind. With a few flaps of her snow-white wings she was levitated enough to shoot herself out tword Gondor. The night made it dificult to see, but she remembered where she saw that face before. "Most wanted. Sauron will pay me lots with this catch." She grinned sinisterly. A part of her, and she didn't know how dominint this part was, but she knew that wasn't the real reson, but she stuck to her story anyway. The tops of Gondor's highest towers where just visible, and she forced her wings faster.

It wasn't long before Elrothiel was sufficiently calm to allow herself to stand up and leave the stable. There were over thirty straw figures by this point, and she considered them as she rose to her feet. She crossed to a small overhanging ledge and lined them up, without really knowing why she did so, and then turned to smile at Hrorik. "I think I have been here long enough for one evening. I mean to go for some fresh air if you would care to join me." Her real reason was to take another look at the walls and their defences. She had not yet decided whether she would attempt to escape and return to her own people or to take part in this coming battle. Without waiting for a reply, she turned and left the stable. The warrior was more than capable of catching up if he wished to.

The few towoers protruding from the city slowly grew, and others soon joined it. Nova was rather grateful she had these wings, though she didn't recall getting them. The silver disk of the moon crept up the sky, illuminating the trees and clearings below.
