Rook walked out onto the city street, and saw the Duros across the street at the controls of a speeder, busily trying to get the vehicle to start up. Kira calmly walked over to her speeder, and pulled a large metal tube out of the back seat. As her target begun to speed away, she looked through a targeting sight on the side of the tube, and pulled the trigger.
The rocket found its mark, blasting apart the rear of the vehicle and sending the Duros flying into a nearby building.

"I see," Jakar said as the city appeared on the horizon. "That's our destination, I assume?"

In a Keldabe Bar, Mandalorians gathered to tell stories, show off war wounds, and get toeed up or at least a little buzzed. Every man had a blaster or deadly weapon on his person, and the majority of them were clad in armor.
Depending on where you stood, it was either the safest or the most dangerous dive in the Galaxy.
Suddenly the door was thrown wide open drawing the surpised attention of the bar's occupants.
A man strode in, clad in a medium suit of Beskar'gam, Medium Blue plates upon a black bodysuit with a sash over his left shoulder and a kama hooked to an equipment belt.
The man who wore the armor was a physically impressive specimen, tall and broad of shoulder. He bore an aura of authority and hard won skill, emphasized even more by his posture and crisp military gait.
He surveyed the crowd once, and then he spoke. "I am Ambu Ral. My clan, my family, we have been born a grave injustice by the Dar'jetii, the Sith. The Dar'jetii seek my land, land I payed for with blood. In waves and droves they come, raiding my clans' holdings, and year by year we lose a little more to them. Land, property, the lives of our sons and daughters, the Sith refuse to stop until they have it all!"
He suddenly smashed his fist back against the doorframe, a solid crack of gauntlet on sturdy keldabe wood. "I am going to end it. I have had enough of being the prey. Now, I will prey on them! I want an army to crush the Dar'Jetii so they can never harm anyone again! I beseech you, my vode, to join my crusade! I offer you wealth, glory, and honor, a chance to fight a truely challenging foe and to make your names legends!"
"And what if we're not interested, Ral?" One grey armored Mando'ad said from the bar. "We got our own lives, our own kin to worry about."
Ral was silent for a moment. And then he slowly raised his arm to point directly at the grey suited Mandalorian. "Who are you?"
"Garrett Vorth."
"And who will remember you after your dead? Your children? I had those once. Sons. The Sith took them from me. They twisted their minds, made them thing wrong was right, and to believe that all I had taught them was a lie. I had to kill them when the Dar'Jetii sent them against me. And they will do the same to you, Garret Vorth. They will take your sons, your daughters, and turn them against you. That is the Dar'jetii way. And when you have killed your own family with your bare hands, their memory will die with you as will all your accomplishments. And then you really will be dead."
As he spoke, Ambu Ral stepped further into the Bar, casting glances at each of the occupants.
"This is the fate of the Mando'ade if the Sith remain unopposed. There is no room for us in the mind of the Dar'Jetii. You are either one of them, or against them. Here, on the Rim and on Mandalore, we are free to live as we please. The Republic will never be able to control us. The Senate bickers like a tribe of jawas fighting over a choice pice of scrap, all talk, no action. There will always be places in the rim to live our lives as peacably as we want. But the Sith will force your children to forget the six actions, their language, their herritage, their souls. They will not stop until we all blindly worship this dark magic of theirs. And once they finish with the Republic, they will come for you."
Effortlessly he lept upon a tabel and gestured to the crowd of patrons with a wave of his outstretched hand.
"My Vode! Our very way of life is under attack! Will you just stand there like those Republic swine and let jetii, Dar'jetii, control you?! No I say! That is not our way! The right way! The Mando way! Again I beseach you my brothers! Join me on my noble crusade! Take up your arms and fight for your right to live and die as a free Mandalorian!"
The patrons rose to their feet and roared in agreement, holding their weapons aloft.
Ambu Ral flexed his wrist, ejecting a wicked looking vibroblade from his gauntlet. This blade projected, he thrust his fist to the sky.
"Oya, Vode!" he declared loudly. "Kote, darasuum kote! Te racin ka’ra juaan kote! Glory for this just crusade, this final crusade against the strongest foe the galaxy has ever known! We will take from them all that they thought they could take from us! The Galaxy shall hear the march of Mandalorian boots once more and it will frighten the dar'jetii to their black cores! For there is nothing they can do to stop us!"
When Ambu Ral left that bar, the whole of its patrons went with him. It was a good start.

"That it is," Derrial answered. "And a more majestic place you will not find in all of the 'verse."
The Avatar swooped low, passing amongst the highest buildings of the city. Each building was adorned with fantastic sculptures and sculpted with a high degree of architectural skill. On the side of the city not bordered by the mountains, a huge wall arose, complete with battlements and anti-air defenses. Though formidable, it was also adorned with many artistic flourishes. In the streets and sky bridges below, large crowds of people were gathered, cheering as the Avatar flew by overhead.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Marr sat in his office, the quarters dark save for the light of day drifting in from the wall-window. He had been meditating since his apprentice left him. For the last few days, he had been able to perceive a hostile presence in the Force; hostile towards him in particular. He knew that this presence was responsible for the attacks on his convoy, and the recent attack on the supply station, but he could not quite identify its source.
The majority of the Republic and the Jedi were not a threat to him, but there were still a few threats within their ranks he could not ignore. Marr wished that he could have dealt with this a few weeks ago, when he did not have a new apprentice and an occupation to distract him, but such was the way of war. The unexpected had a tendency to happen, an you either adapted or fell by the wayside...

I need you to put out a good word for me.
Koren looked around the Inn with suspicion tonight. There were a lot of vagrants here. People that didn't belong. It was almost disheartening. That Koren's favorite little family Inn was becoming a place that attracted some shady looking characters.
And what is that, Koren? You know we would do anything for you.
I'm looking for someone. I need an APB on any warrior, soldier, or merc that knows how to train troops. I have a crew of mercs that need some training.
Can't you train them? They aren't too rough are they?
No, old friend. I'm the Captain of the battle cluster in orbit right now. I don't have the time to train them. Look, I have to go visit someone, can you put out the word for me?
Of course. I'll even skim the crowd and get you a couple of the best.
Thank you, my friend. There will payment coming your way for this. Just figure out what you need and it's yours. Farewell for now, buir.
Koren slipped his helmet on and sealed it, before turning and walking out of the Inn, headed for the armorsmith. It had been a little while since he had heard from the General and he wanted to check on his progress finding some armor.

As Deakin drank his ale, he saw a few people, obviously not locals. A few petty thugs. But, what were they doing there? They could have been travelers. A man without hair in a black duster sat across from him, seeming tough. "Nice lid," said the filthy man attempting to lightly kick it. Deakin grabbed the foot and emerged from the shadowed corner.
"Is there a problem you'd like to address, scum?" Deakin asked gripping his pistol grip tighter every second. As he let go, he could hear a pistol unholster. A small holdout was drawn.
"Feelin' tough now?" he asked with a chuckle. He lowered it from Deakin's view. Wrong move. Just then, Deakin raised his large blaster, charging it in front of his face.
"That's cute," Deakin replied. "But I think mine is bigger." His facial expression changed. Deakin let out an intimidating laugh. "Hit the bloody road," he said laughing harder. Slowly he stood up, not bothering to lift his small blaster from the table. As he laughed some more, he leaned back and wiped a tear. "Boy," Deakin said still keeping an eye on the scum. "You're funny." Within a few seconds, the man power walked away. The blaster was much smaller, and seemed as if it had less than a quarter of the charge his had.

"Copy that, eleven," Ritt announced. "We're going to take things slow. This ship isn't terribly bad, but it's not as quick on the turns as the aurek. She will belt out some serious speed though, kind of like a high speed interceptor. Stick ot the top of the ice rings, and get a feel for it. The highest speed requires you to lock the engines, and you have to do this manually for now. Might not be a bad idea to familiarize yourself with this feature in case of powerout. Unlocking the engines will allow you to have them automatically tilt with the cirection of the ship up to fourty five degrees, a nice feature to at least try to make this ship dodge. We'll test out weapons as soon as we get the hang of things."
Rolling the craft in a slow barrel roll, he began to widen a circle larger and larger, spinning not only on the z axis, but forming a circle along with the spins. He had a little more experience, not that it was saying much.
"The computer is also supposed to be able to go into an emergency power mode, which shuts down all but the main systems. Navigation, flight control, landing gear, ommunication. All other items will get deactivated in case you have to ditch the bird. Rather nice feature, seeing as how she'll take a beating like no aurek could dream of. Keep the compensators low, and just try to get used to the helmet's computer systems."

Marr Silvertongue walked down the boarding ramp onto the sky platform, and the gathered thousands cheered as he entered the daylight. Directly behind him was Marie Celeste, followed by Derrial and Jakar, and then by a group of Givin who had belonged to the faction allied with him during the brief battle for control of their homeworld. They boarded one of a series of parade skiffs shortly after, and began to slowly make their way through the city.
All around them, on balconies, skybridges, and city streets, crowds had gathered to see Lord Marr and his soldiers return after the success on Yag'Dhul. On the skiff, Marr smiled and waved at the crowds, Lady Celeste on his left, Jakar and Derrial at his right.
"The Sith have long known the power of hatred, anger, and fear," Marr said to Jakar as they rode along. "But few Sith Lords know how to encourage and manipulate the power of love. If your people fear you, then they will serve you only far enough to keep away your wrath. However, if they love you, they will toil and fight and die for you. Remember that."

"I will," Jakar said. "That statement made me think of a question a spacer asked me. 'Would you rather be loved or feared?' he asked. 'Both.' I answered. 'I would like people to fear how much they love me.' That may sound like something a holodrama star would say, but I think it suffices in this situation. With you, that is," Jakar corrected.

((there you go Cale and Sayla. I've given you opponents to talk with and watch, as well as choice of weapon selection.))
The planet of Serenno, home to nobles, slaves, and aristocracy alike. It was like Kuat, but no matriarchy or shipyards, in some senses, and would come to be the home of the Count Dooku in many millenia from now. Today, however, the idea of a spectator sport around a ring filled with the equivalent of nothing better than a bloodbath in the form of gladiatorial combat stood to be the main form of entertainment for common and noble alike. The Six Great Houses were to be in attendance, being bored and to conduct some personal matters at the same time. Both Nalju and Demici were already there for a day, having the prudence to be the most prepared for image reasons. Lately the two had been feuding over some trite matter, and it was apparant from their placement around the ring, completely on opposite sides. Something about a woman...
Nakara couldn't care less now. His plans needed to become moved. Some pompous Dark Jedi claiming to be a sith of peace and reform was starting to make a noise in the southern parts of the galaxy, and while it didn't concern him personally too much of the fool's folley, the Revan wannabe had started to make quite a ruckus with stealing holocrons and boasting larger than himself. His spies needed to bite down on the new meat, and knowing the republic's own movements, they were sure to put something in. He wondered what was going on down there. It would still be a week before a good picture could be made.
Now, the holocam focused upon his only natural feature, the toothy grin, he began to clean his teeth. A pure white grin filled of fangs was always scarier than any plaque or decayed one. The cam was just for his own personal entertainment. The crowd grew louder outside, as the little droid floated around, as his essence began to taint the air, letting himself manipulate the multitude of people. This planet would make a great retreat for his jedi side, feudal and out of the way. Televised throughout the galaxy, he had the entire world as a beacon of advertisement. His pride hybrid made it into this competition, but of particular notice was an echani. There was a defel who seemed to be more intriguing, but the problem led to be that the defel didn't seem to be interesting, and Nakara couldn't know why. He stepped out into the sunlight, his skin wrapping around in a blue military uniform, golden tassles, and a bright red cape that flowed far longer than it should, flapping and slowly whipping in the deadest of winds. His face appeared human, with particular eyebrows which seemed to be... designed. Yes, the chairman of Nakara industries, that would be his guise today.
~~~~~~~~~
Down in the fighter pits, each gladiator had his own room and amenities. Target practice, weapon dummies, and so much more, a common hall to discuss and plan out who would loot what. Each fighter had been taken care of with a handbook and a set of instructions for their own abilities. But the most notorious was the sheet filled to the brim with scheduled fights, by the day, by the fighter. It was classic elimination format, filled with fifty names, registered as teams.
Durge and the other special competitors who would enter at the semi-finals had been given specific accomidations that were more than suited to being relaxing. He didn't enjoy it, but he could watch the fight from his room. Each fight was to agree upon the weapons to be used. Anythign goes to the standard fisticuffs half naked. Anything could be used, but no personal weaponry. Durge's eyebrow woud have quivered in annoyance.. had he one.
Still, the first fight was to be interesting, between an echani and a Corellian. The announcement hadn't been made as to what weapons they would use, but he was sure that the corellian would make an interesting bet on. That annoying half-taung was later down the list, scheduled to fight an ubese... That's another match to watch...
Several blocks away, Rook met up with Fi and the speeder, and they rode away from the area just before the authorities completely shut down traffic entering and leaving the district.
"That was a little more chaotic then what I had in mind," said Fi, as she drove the rented speeder through the city streets.
"Improvisation," Kira replied, smiling beneath her buy'ce. "You gotta love it. What's the next job?"
"An experimental lab run by the personnel weapons division of SoroSuub. They're supposed to be working on a heavy blaster rifle designed to penetrate heavy armor. They have two working prototypes, we're to infiltrate the place, steal the prototypes, and destroy the equipment needed to continue working on the project."
"Sounds like fun. Let's go."
Pash walked into the Arena, a Blaster Pistol at his hip, as the Corellian opponent he was to face came in from the opposite side.
The Blaster Pistol was an uncivilized weapon; crude, clumsy, and random. Compared to Pash's weapons of choice, the lightsaber, knife, and slugthrower pistol, the Blaster was an inferior weapon incapable of subtlety. The only saving grace for it was that many were capable of firing a short ranged stun beam. In practice, when Pash didnt care for who knew he was around, a Blaster Carbine was preferable to the pistol. As such he rarely used one save for when the mission called.
His fellow Corellian, a greasy looking thug in padded Merc Fatigues, was apparently a blastslinger by proffesion, however. The Blaster pistol would be his weapon of choice. Echani were melee experts, and Pash was wearing armor. The choice of blasters would even the field considerably for the Corellian.
Which was why he let his opponent pick the weapon. While Pash's opponent would be more proficient, he would also be easier to catch off guard due to his opponent's confidence.
Out of the corner of his helmet, he spotted the Chairman of Nakara Industries. Nakara had gall to name the company after himself. At least Pash new he was on the right track.
Then he felt it: some sort of subtle ripple in the Force, its subtle rings cascading through the arena. He recognized it as some sort of mental manipulation, a more advanced form of a technique he was familiar with. Pash's instincts told him that Nakara was indeed in the area, and he further hazarded a guess that the Chairman might be the man he was after, or at least had some connection to him. The temptation to lock down the source of the ripple was great, but to give himself away at this crucial point in the game would only tip off his target. Pash had to play a few more hands before he could go all in with a decent chance to win. His opponent was talking smack. Pash wasnt listening. While this was a fellow Corellian he was about to take down, Pash was a Shadow. His loyalty was to the Galaxy and the Order, not to a planet.
He focused on his opponent, watching his moves, staring into his eyes from across the arena floor.
Both men dropped their hands to their pistols without reaching, waiting for that crucial moment where it would be a contest of speed.
Seconds ticked by. Pash continued to stare, continued to radiate a grim calm.
The Man barked a few more jabs, trying to egg him on. Pash wasnt buying it. He just kept staring into the other's eyes.
Then he saw his moment, in the eyes of his opponent he saw the decision to draw before the man's arm even began to move. And before the Corellian Gunslinger's gun even cleared his holster Pash had already drawn, thrown his gun like a hatchet at the man's head and rolled out of the way of the man's shot.
The Butt of the pistol grip struck the man's head with a loud impacting crack. He fell backwards onto the Arena floor as the bolt from his blaster blackened the arena wall behind where Pash had once been standing.
Pash clenched his fist and threw his elbow back as a visible sign of triumphant victory though he actually felt very little about knocking the man out. A quarter second faster and the man might have shot him before he got out of the way. It was close, but Pash was the victor this round.
In her quarters, established for her use durning the fight, Cene was adjusting the settings on her helmet, a sonic screwdriver in hand and the helmet in her lap. As she tweaked settings, she glanced from time to time the broadcast of the arena fight. Seemed the Echani was scheduled to fight a Corellian. Her eyes strayed to the screen for a brief moment, just in time for her to see the echani take out his opponent by throwing a blaster at him. This gave her pause. The Echani was just another opponent before. Now he was a threat. Not many beings were quick or good enough to throw, of all things, a blaster at an opponent from that distance and still knock them out. She would have to be wary if they were scheduled to fight...
