You know you're a band geek when...
...upon finding out that your cousins (or siblings, or whatever) have decided to join band, you cheer.
...upon finding out that your cousins (or siblings, or whatever) are thinking about playing your instrument in band, you cheer louder.
...you are determined to play that one piece you can never play ALL THE WAY THROUGH with NO MISTAKES, even if it takes you three hours.
...you start all over once you miss a note on that one piece you are determined to play ALL THE WAY THROUGH with NO MISTAKES.
...after practicing for three hours a day for three weeks, you have memorized that one piece you could never play and can play it with your eyes closed (especially on instruments with no fixed hand positions (violin, piano, guitar, bells/xylophone, etc.)).
...you download sheet music for your favorite songs and ask to play them in band class.
...your director lets your band play the sheet music you downloaded of your favorite songs.
...you have joined a million extracurricular band activities (jazz, marching, string, CMEA, All-State, etc.)
...you have joined a million extracurricular band activities, even if you don't necessarily play the instruments required.
...you have joined a million extracurricular band activities, and learned a new instrument for them.
...you have learned a new instrument just because you want to.
...you have ever told someone "I broke my G-string."
...you have ever told someone "I broke my G-string" and they say, "Here, you can borrow mine."
...someone has told you "I broke my G-string" and you say, "Here, you can borrow mine."
...someone else overhears you telling someone/someone telling you "I broke my G-string" and walks away very quickly.
...someone tells a perverted band joke and you're totally confused.
...upon listening to a dirty band joke, like "Trombones can do it in seven different positions," you think, "What about the eighth?"
