Wow, I noticed something the other day when I went on a trip with our school's Thespian Club. Almost everybody in the club is a band nerd. So cool!
But on a sad note, I found out that we might not have marching band this year. ;_; 'Cause May didn't pick any music and we still don't have drum majors. We could've used last years, but one of them graduated. *sigh* I really hope we get to do it this year. It would be really sad if we didn't march in our own parade. (even though it's rigged).

KitoYasha RinoaHeartilly KitoYasha Happy 100 pages! ::Throws confetti.:: Nice siggy. xD That PV has got to be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen in my life. Arigatou! Hai, that video's sort of strange at first, but if you watch it a few times, then you realize that it's really targeted at all the troubles she's having with Avex, currently. (They tried to fire her!) The scary clowns are supposed to be Avex Executives chasing her, or something, and the "A Singing Machine" is exactly what she is, for them--she sings for their supper, so to speak.
Yay for off-topic-ness!Fire her?! That'd probably be the dumbest thing they could do. I still think the video is way bizarre, but that explanation makes a lot of sense. The song itself is absolutely wonderful. <3 ...It's not /that/ off topic... okay... maybe it is. But it's still music related. =D Yeah. Yeah that's right...

Evil Black Swan I think marching band is just for HS... but I dunno... and our flute section by the way, is just 7... That's the way it is around here. You have to be in high school in order to be a part of the marching band. My school's marching band has about 30 flute players in it this year... I think that's less than what we had last year...?

*pales* 30 flute players? xx;; Wow, that's a lot! Yeah, from what I see, Marching Band is for HS, mainly because they probably have much more control over their instrument at that point and can concentrate on multiple things. ^^

Yay, somehow marching band has been saved this year, though I still don't know what we're gonna do.
Here, marching band is also for high school, but since my 8th grade year, he's allowed 8th graders to march. That might be one of the many reasons why the class one year ahead of us hates us.

Yeah. It is a lot. We barely have enough seats for everyone. I'm all the way on the edge and I don't even have any room for a stand so I have to lean my flip folder on the back of my friends' chair. x___x

Here during your first year of high school is when you really start to improve. Our 8th graders really suck compared to our freshmen. Not all of them, but most of them. So it would be bad if all of a sudden it was decided that they could march.

I sure hope it doesn't end up like that up at the high school I'm going to, since we'll have to vie for chairs and stuff. ._.

Our band is small against some of yours, but for the school it's comparatively large. Our district is tiny, and having a 120-person band for a 300-person middle school last year was magnificent.

My mom's paying me (via Starbucks cards) to give her friend's daughter flute lessons. XD Well, it's not really lessons so much as I'm trying to keep her motivated. She's not liking band much right now (and I don't blame her, because I went to the same middle school and the program there is horrid). Me and the girl went down today to pick out some music, since the only music I have is too hard for her and the music she has is all old band stuff that she never wants to look at again. XD So we got a book of jazz music and a book of Disney music, since I figured that would be fun to play.
Pep band starts in a little under a month! I'm so excited! biggrin

I can't wait for pep band as well. I'm planning to go to most of the meetings, depending on how often my dad can drive me to it on his way to work. xx;; 0 hour schedules are tough. I won't be able to sleep! gonk
Giving flute lessons sounds fun, although I'm all too mediocre to give any. Disney music is very fun to play. 3nodding If she likes Harry Potter, get her to pick up a book of Harry Potter music...it's very good.

Ughhh Harry Potter... We had to play Harry Potter in orchestra this past year. The flutes had to play up to high C# in 32nd notes in a fast 2/2 time. How we managed it, I have no idea. Giving flute lessons is fun! I give them. I get paid too, which is sweet xd
