If there was one thing that Riza could count on to cheer herself up, it was shopping therapy and as soon as she was up in a trendy clothing store, she started to feel a little better. She'd since removed the white bow from the front of her shirt, as the blood spatters were drawing too much unwanted attention, and though she was loathe to part with it she chucked it in the trash just the same. 'I need a whole different look,' she thought as she sorted through a rack full of shirts of varying colours and styles. It was nice to let her mind be distracted from her current problems and within about twenty minutes she'd picked out several things to try on, including a replacement bow for the one she'd just thrown out. She didn't need a whole new wardrobe, just a few new pieces to signify what she decided should probably be a new start.
After a brief fashion show starring herself, Riza was content to pick out a pair of dark slacks and a simple white shirt, though this one was adorned with a black silk bow, inverting her previous outfit. She also considered picking up some new shoes but there was nothing wrong with her current ones, though she did grab a few pairs of comfy socks as she'd no longer be wearing her tights. As she headed over to pay for her purchases she also grabbed a pair of slender black bracelets to wear instead of the heavier bands she wore now. With everything paid for she exited the store and found a bathroom, quickly slipping out of her old clothing and folding it neatly so it would fit in her bag. She removed the tags from her new clothes and slipped into them, already feeling much better as she clipped on the belt that held her Pokemon. The new shirt covered up her nasty bruise, thankfully and she reapplied her makeup, finishing it all off by brushing out her dark hair and putting it up in a high ponytail at the back of her head. She smiled at her reflection, feeling like she looked a few years older than before, but the hollow feeling still lingered in her stomach. She tried to ignore it as she put everything away and stepped back out into the world, already catching the eyes of a couple of older looking boys that were passing by. She smiled at them, prompting them to chuckle and nudge each other in return, and from there she decided to set her sights on the floor that sold TMs. Certainly this massive place had a better selection than Cerulean had. * * * * * "Ilta, are you okay? Get up and use Body Slam!" Autumn cried, watching as her Miltank separated itself from Katie's Floatzel, dripping with water and looking quite mad. Autumn wasn't sure her Pokemon could win this even with her Milk Drink and she had to take down at least one of Katie's Pokemon. The bovine Pokemon was surprisingly fast as she launched herself at Miles, who hadn't yet recovered from his Aqua Jet, easily catching the water-type and crushing him beneath her weight, which was more than double Miles'.
"Miles!" Katie shrieked fearfully, looking on as the Miltank got to her feet, looking quite smug. Miles weakly struggled to get up, his body aching all over and refusing to cooperate. He'd been paralyzed! "Nell, Jump Kick!" the orange haired girl called. The Buneary quickly sprang into action, somersaulting in the air and coming down hard with a solid kick to the center of Ilta's chest. The Miltank bellowed out in pain but quickly grabbed Nell's foot in retaliation. "Miles, Double Hit!" Katie called next, hoping to wrap this up.
"Throw her, Ilta!" Autumn shouted and the Miltank was quick to answer, holding Nell out in front of her like a stuffed toy before she reared back and tossed the Buneary with all her might. Nell wailed as she flew through the air, landing hard on the ground at Katie's feet and unable to battle. Miles, meanwhile, charged in as best as his sluggish body would let him and he tried to slam his twin tails into the cow Pokemon, but again she was too fast for him and wheeled around, quite literally slugging the Floatzel in the jaw with a powerful fist. And just like that both of Katie's Pokemon were out, leaving the orange haired girl staring in surprise.

Grumbling slightly at the feminine comment before sighing in irritation Dante gave Keegan one last small shove in the direction of the gym. “Hey, remember how they mistook me for your girlfriend the last time we traveled together and I was looking more feminine? This time I am just going to play along.” Yes he was that bitter about his miracle hair growth. Keegan’s teasing wasn’t all that bad though, it distracted him a bit from the whole bit about Apollo and everything that followed that whole incident.
Pushing his mind onto something else he focused in on the little dragon as it inspected him before heading down to ride on Helios’s back, “Huh? Lots of strange dragons popping up recently. Seriously though who would give you a dragon type pokemon? That just seems like a recipe for disaster.” Not that he was one to speak, Kali was a little monster and even Dante himself would never have picked a dragon pokemon to raise until he had more experience with pokemon, or at least one without such a nasty temper. “Well at least your little dragon seems well behaved, minus eating all of your clothes that is. I swear I have no idea what to do with my little monster.” Dante commented as he watched Keegan inspect the egg. Growing up with your parents being pokemon breeders must be interesting, more interesting than your mom dragging you around the world as she completes her gym badge set anyway. “Aaaaanyway I would think that dropping it on the ground would help it hatch, I mean it has to break out of its shell sometime.” Dante off handedly commented as he moved to take the egg back from Keegan.
Things never seemed to work out for Dante though as the moment he made to reach out and take it from the redheads arms a large crack appeared down the center. Looking down at the egg before looking back up at Keegan dark eyes narrowed. “Sometimes I think I hate you.” How was it that he carried around that egg for Arceus knows how long only to make Keegan carry it for less than five minutes and it hatches for him? How in anyway was this fair? Still he was happy that his rock actually was an egg, and apparently it was hatching. Soon the crack spread further and before they knew it a baby Turtwig was looking up at Keegan with adoring eyes. “Congratulations Keegan you’re a father. I expect child support.” Dante commented dryly as he moved to finally take the baby from him. The freshly hatched pokemon turned wide eyes over to Dante and checked out who was now holding her, deciding she wasn’t bad just not as good as Keegan was. “Yeah yeah, Daddy’s little girl, too bad you are stuck with Mommy.” Dante muttered. Still though he couldn’t help but beam at the tiny grass pokemon, after all how could he not be proud that his pokemon had finally hatched. “Come on let’s watch Keegan win that gym battle.” He grinned at the baby Turtwig who just wagged her tiny tail happily at Dante’s suggestion.

It wasn't until Train had sat down on the bed (well, plopped, rather) that she realised she was still only wearing a bathing suit. She pulled the two-piece off and simply tossed it onto the floor by her bag. She took off her belt and held it up in front of her, looking at the four PokéBalls, eyes falling on to the empty slots. It wasn't that she hadn't had enough Pokémon, though, or that she had the wrong ones, or anything stupid like that…she just hadn't been as prepared as she'd thought. This was the second time she had lost a gym battle, and, given that she only had one win so far, she was not receiving a passing grade. A sigh found its way through her lips and she dropped the belt onto the floor in front of her.
The girl stood up and moved into the bathroom, thinking for a moment about what to do the next day but not being totally invested in that line of speculation. She stood there for a moment, but there hadn't really been any actual reason for entering the bathroom. All of her stuff was still in her bag. She walked into the main room again and knelt by the messenger bag, digging through for some things and finally throwing on some underwear. It was still kind of early, but she just wanted to try and sleep.

It was unfortunate, but Digger was one Pokemon that Kasiya felt like she'd neglected over time, so it was only natural that she went over his abilities in her PokeDex first. That, and she was already super-familiar with Ariel and Shocker's and had no need to check theirs. Her brow was furrowed in deep interest as she noticed he had access to some moves he didn't have before and she smiled a bit wryly to herself. Digger, when did you go and get yourself an upgrade? she thought, lovingly patting the Sandslash's Pokeball. Perhaps with a little training, the Ground-type would be able to help her out in her next gym challenge, which she hoped would be fairly soon. She glanced over at Mike as he fidgeted around in his sleep, muttering something about an Armaldo. The blonde smiled a bit, but it broadened as he'd found his way over to her and was now using her lap as a pillow - not that she minded at all. He seemed to be more restful that way and she gently ran her fingers through his hair as she shifted the page on her PokeDex to Alphonse's information.
She was fairly engrossed in her reading, recalling the Prinplup belonging to Haruka; the calm, collected and gorgeous older trainer that Kasiya had met on her journey a few times now. Kasiya had won the first time they battled, but the second time, well, Haruka had schooled her pretty hard. I wonder if Al will ever evolve, she thought, thinking of her stubborn little penguin. The poor little dear was oh-so very unlucky, and not very surefooted, despite his ability to use Agility. Haruka's Prinplup had been so composed and confident. So lost was Kasiya in her thoughts that she did not see the occasional flashes of lightning in the not-too-distant horizon, nor did she hear the quiet rumble of the accompanying thunder. A breeze had picked up and she shivered, intent on finding some magical remedy that would transform Alphonse from a (albeit adorable) bumbling doofus into a magnificent battle... penguin.
She felt something prodding at her and she tried to ignore it, waving her hand at the little Litwick. "Not now, Pumpkin, I'm busy," she said, giving the tiny ghost a scolding look, but the Candle Pokemon was quite insistent, and she looked up as he pointed to the ever darkening skyline. A flash of lightning made her eyes widen; the echoing clap of thunder, coming much faster this time, making her jump and realize the storm was very nearly on top of them. "Oh, shhhh....oot," she squeaked, only just managing to refrain from cursing. "Mike! Mike!" she cried, trying to shake him awake. "We have to get inside, quick! It's gonna rain! Mike, c'mon, wake up! The Pokemon Center is like, right there! MIKE!"

Keegan raised an eyebrow, unable to hold back a scoff at Dante's threat. "You played along then, too," he grumbled, remembering well the many comments and insults they'd slung back and forth pretty much the entire time they'd traveled together. He looked over at Helios and Hades as well, managing a smirk. "Hey, I thought the same thing, actually," he said, laughing. "But judging by your little demon, giving you a dragon wasn't exactly a stroke of brilliance, either." The redhead was more than a little grateful to hand the egg back over to its rightful owner, but things were never that simple whenever Keegan and Dante hung around each other, and before he knew it, the egg was an egg no more and Keegan was staring down at a little green... thing.
Congratulations, Keegan, you're a father. Well, there's five words I never wanted to hear, he thought, trying to put on an annoyed face, but the baby Pokemon was just too cute to maintain it. He smirked as Dante took the baby from him, now having to pick up Hades as the Axew was having a minor jealousy fit. "You get mad at me for making girly jokes, yet you go and label yourself as the mommy. You don't just set yourself up for them, you like... walk into them purposely." Still heading in the direction of the gym, Keegan pulled out his PokeDex and scanned the newborn. Turtwig, eh? he thought, putting the device away as he shifted Hades in his free arm. She may have been a little cutie now, but her evolved forms were nothing to scoff at. Helios had trotted alongside the pair dutifully yet silently, occasionally looking up at the humans and wishing he could pretend that he wasn't with them, though it was also more than likely possible that the Ninetales was jealous for having lost the ability to ride around on his trainer's shoulders like he used to.
It wasn't until they'd actually arrived on the doorstep of the gym did Keegan start to feel his pulse pick up. "Finally," he grumbled, deciding right then and there that if anyone tried to stop him from making this challenge, he'd punch them square in the throat. With the adorable Axew clinging to his shoulder and the regal Ninetales at his side, he strode forward and shoved open the doors with both hands, gazing around at the inside of the gym. "Where's Norman?" he demanded loudly. "I'm here for a gym battle." Finally.

Blue skies. An expansive green field. Mountains in the distance. Grass below him and the golden sun above. Where was he? It didn't matter. A light breeze tickled his cheek like gentle fingers dragging across his face. The sunlight wrapped around him like a blanket. He closed his eyes and listened to the wind as it rushed across the plain, almost able to hear the sound of the grass bending beneath him. Was this real? It felt real. Maybe he could just rest here for a moment...
Barely seen through his eyelids there was a flash of light, and suddenly things were not so soft and comfortable.
Boom. An explosion jostled him from his rest. The ground beneath him crinkled and split like wrapping paper on Christmas morning, sending dirt and rocks into the air.
"Mike!" A familiar voice woke him a second time.
Where are we? "I don't know, I can't see." The ground! The ground! Are we on the ground?! "Yes, no, we're-"
"-ave to get inside, quick!"
"Kasi?" he opened his eyes an stared for a moment, the sight before him taking a moment to register. Kasiya loomed overhead, fear in her eyes.
"It's gonna rain! Mike, c'mon, wake up!" Mike smiled dumbly at her concern, nestling himself in her legs.
"What's a little rain going to do to me?" His eyes shot open. "Wait, s**t! Rain?!" He sprang up and looked around frantically between the darkened sky and the ground. "Where's Portabello, portabell-Porta-my umbrella?!" The wind began to pick up. It wasn't soft like before. It was cold and biting, and Mike bit right back, snapping his teeth in rebellion. A drop of water landed on his hand with a soft fizzle. "Agh!" he yelped, pulling his sleeve down. "It stings!" The sky was getting darker and darker, and as it was, Mike found that mustering the composure to do even the most simple tasks was becoming increasingly difficult. A light on the ground caught his eye. It was Pumpkin, who was sitting beside Mike's bag and umbrella right by his feet. "Thank you!" he sputtered, recalling the Litwick immediately and grabbing his things.
Mike barely had the time to pop open the umbrella and hold it over his head before the rain began to come down in unrelenting sheets. He sunk to the ground, whimpering and frozen in place, trying to cover himself as much as he could. The sound of the rain smacking against the tiny sheet of fabric above him sounded more like crashing rocks than tiny droplets of water. "Kasi-kasi. I can't...I can't move." His voice and body trembled as a thin film of smoke began to rise as stray drops glanced his skin. "It hurts." An orange glow lit the features on his face, his wide, pleading eyes reflecting complete and utter terror.

“Wuh-oh! Snarkpedo attack! Close the beaches!” Dante countered as they stepped into the gym. Please Keegan should know by now that Dante would take advantage of people mistaking him for a girl and then would deny up, down and around that he did such a thing. He would be struck dead before he ever admitted that he didn’t mind dressing up like a girl or acting like one if it wasn’t for the fact that he was always mistaken for one. Honestly he was manly! A little, maybe he should go visit a gym. Or make Keegan beat up people for him. He chuckled slightly at that thought and decided that the laziest possible way was the best way. Since they were in the gym now and Keegan had issued his challenge he didn’t really get to reply to the dragon comment. Looking around he noticed that it was almost the same as what he remembered being dragged along for his mom’s challenge, a few differences here maybe it had been remodeled a bit? There was a new gym leader now too.
The room itself was of an average size and mostly plain. The wood floors were nicely polished and seemed to be well taken care of. The walls themselves had spares decoration and other then the two signs over two doors there really wasn’t much to look at. “Well, a challenger?” A middle aged man standing near the back of the room between the wall with two doors on it. “I Norman will gladly accept your challenge. That is if you can prove you are strong enough by getting through my gym trainers.” With that Norman gave them a small grin before heading through the door on the left. “Good luck.”
“There you go Keegan, fight your way through the gym.” Dante commented giving a smug little grin at the redhead. “Make sure the battles are good because your child here is going to be learning.” Patting the tiny Turtwig on the head Dante glanced down at the happy pokemon and patted her on the head. “You wanna watch Daddy take on the whole gym right?” The small pokemon just let out a happy baby giggle as she wagged her tiny tail more ferociously. “Right, so don’t let her down. Now pick the room fearless leader.” Dante waved towards the two doors.
“Oh yeah, as to the dragon comment earlier, magical eggs falling from the sky containing monsters that want to kill everything are not my fault. I would never have picked a dragon pokemon to raise, or at least I never would have picked that thing.” Seriously though what evolution thinking? It had no eyes! It attacked everything that it sensed and bit even more things! At least it could have made the beast a little less aggressive. Dante was just relieved that she had never actually attacked or made a move to attack him, just everything around him.

And just like that, the battle was over. Admittedly, Jasper felt a little bad as Ben scooped up his Pidgey and headed for the proverbial hills, leaving the older boy standing there all alone, save for Koffing who had yet to figure out that the battle had ended. "Err... Good luck with Falkner," he called after the retreating boy and his little bird, scratching the back of his head somewhat awkwardly. He looked back over at his Pokemon, whom was perfectly content to continue spinning around in her own filth. "You good?" he asked the poison type, meaning that he wanted to know if she needed to be taken to the Pokemon Center. Koffing focused on Jasper for all of three seconds before her attention was diverted to something else, and the boy watched in a mixture of amusement and confusion as she floated over to a rock and gave it a very delicate lick, eyes rolling around in her head thoughtfully as she contemplated the taste. "Yeah, you're good," Jasper sighed loudly, looking around slowly.
As luck would have it, they were pretty much right where they needed to be to make the turn down the little path that would take them back to Goldenrod City. Or, at least, the fork-in-the-path that he could take to either it or Ecruteak. Jasper gave another sigh and adjusted his bandanna before he started walking forward, finding it nice to be able to breathe in deeply again without risking some possible form of cancer thanks to Koffing. Speaking of the Poison Gas Pokemon, Jasper had gone about twenty five steps before he realized that she wasn't following him, and he looked back to see Koffing currently menacing a small flock of Pidgey. "Oi, Koffing!" he yelled angrily, and the birds all took off at once, which Koffing mistook for her obviously intimidating nature and puffed out her body, doing her best to look tough. "Yes, yes, you're the Champion of all of Johto, now get over here," Jasper grumbled, recalling Koffing once she was close enough. As he clipped the ball onto his belt, he closed his eyes, basking in the blessed silence as he knew it wouldn't last once he got within the vicinity of his hometown. Now that he was alone, however, it meant that he could use his bike again and in a few fairly swift motions, the magical-folding-device-of-awesome was standing before him. * * * * * * * * * * It was very true that Hayley had pretty much run full tilt to the Pokemon Center, turning over all of her Pokeballs for treatment. She realized pretty quickly that her hands were shaking, and as she waited for her team to be returned to her, she purchased a bottle of water from the vending machine. 'We can do this,' she told herself as she sipped the cool liquid, looking almost compulsively toward the counter every few seconds until the kind nurse returned with her Pokemon. "First gym battle?" she asked as Hayley attached the spheres to her belt. She could always tell when a trainer was about to take that first big step.
"Yes," Hayley answered, but then her brow furrowed. "Why? How do you know that? Oh god, I look nervous! Brock's gonna think I'm so silly!"
The nurse smiled kindly. "You'll be fine, dear. Just trust in your Pokemon. Brock is... well, he's quite a character, but I doubt he'll think you're silly. Do your best, and we'll see you later, all right?"
The Chansey beside her gave a cheerful chirp and what could probably pass for a thumbs-up, and Hayley finally managed a smile. "All right, we will! We will do our best, and we're gonna win!" It was as though a switch had been flipped as the brunette dashed back outside, this time not even hesitating to turn in the direction of the gym.

Ben slowly stepped inside the gym, looking around curiously. It seemed empty, which was rather odd.. until he looked up, and saw an entire platform raised high into the air. Frowning a bit, he started to wonder how he was going to get up there - he hadn't seen any stairs or ladders - but that question was quickly answered when he stepped onto a wooden platform, his weight triggering the release mechanism and shooting him up fast, causing him to gasp and cling to the platform quickly. This Gym was already full of surprises..
When he finally stopped moving, he stepped carefully onto the stable platform, where it seemed a Trainer had been waiting for him. "Who are you?" Ben asked quietly. The trainer only scoffed at him. "I'm somebody that will keep you from ever getting to Falkner, that's who! Get ready to fight!" Gulping a bit, Ben nodded and tried to steel his nerves. This guy was gonna try and stand in his way? Fine. But he'd asked for it. Grabbing a pokeball from his waist, he quickly tossed it out. "Pikachu, you're up!" he called, the yellow mouse Pokemon appearing with sparks in his cheeks signaling his readiness. The other trainer didn't falter but instead sent out his own Pokemon - a Spearow, by the looks of it. Time to begin.
"Pikachu, get it with your Quick Attack!" he shouted, Pikachu leaping into action and moving at blinding speeds toward the opposing Spearow. But it wasn't the bird trainer's first rodeo. "Spearow, dodge upward and dive in for a Peck!" At his command, the Spearow expertly dodged Pikachu's attack before coming in with his sharp beak. Ben couldn't have that. "Pikachu, zap it with Thundershock!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked up quickly, a strong jolt of electricity loosed into the air around Spearow, which caught its wings as it flew down and sent it spiraling to the ground, hitting it hard and struggling to get back up. The trainer looked rather displeased at the turn of events. "Spearow, can you continue?" he asked, watching the bird intently... but it didn't look like it was possible. With a sigh, he crossed his arms over his chest and recalled his Pokemon. "Fine. You win. Go on." With a nod, Ben called back his Pikachu and walked on, looking for his next challenge.

"Oh no, we're not doing that again!" Bugsy yelled, ordering a halt of the offensive after a few swings. He was not in any mood to have a second bout of a half-mobile Pokemon, and neither was his Pokemon. With an agile twist, the bee turned in mid-air, avoiding the cloud and buzzing high above the disgruntled Beautifly. "Swing around behind him and hit him with a Twineedle attack!" With as much grace as a three-foot bee was capable of, the Beedrill swooped down behind Aerosmith and thrust both of his giant hand stingers forward, hoping to catch the butterfly off guard.
Bugsy smirked. Almost all of Beedrill's attacks dealt with his venomous stingers, so there might be a chance the status-hapyy Mr. Forrest would find himself with an ironically poisoned Beautifly. Wait. Is that the best way to use that word? Or would that be if he was paralyzed? Whatever!

Sasha huffed once again, occasionally looking over to shoot a foul look at her Marill.
"Look. I can look the other way and you can somehow switch out to what you were gonna use first." Isaiah offered. Sasha sighed.
"No, no." she shook her head, uncrossing her arms. "I'm fine. I just needed a moment." While Sasha was known for her extreme (and at times explosive) reactions to situations, they very rarely, if ever stuck around. After a quick yell or cry, it was as if it never happened. "Can I just have a quick moment with Omelette?"
"By all means." the gentlemanly biker replied. With a sharp whistle, Sasha summoned her Pokemon, who bounced over.
"Let us get one s'hing straight." she nearly growled. "I am not happy with you. Non content." Omelette's ears flattened to his head. "When we are in a battle, you listen to me. That means you attack how I say, and you come out when I call you, comprenez-vous?" The Marill nodded, his lower lip sticking out in shame. Seeing this, Sasha's features softened. Isaiah is right. He just wants to try his best. "Je suis désolé, Omelette. I know you just want to prove how tough you are." Which was still a mentality she was trying to wrap her brain around considering how entirely skittish she-HE was as an Azurill. "And you will get your chance. I promise. But z'his fight right now is too much for you, trust me."
Omelette took one more look at the Gallade and frowned. He didn't look so tough. "Omelette." Sasha said sternly. Okay fine! The Aqua Mouse stood down and was recalled into his ball. "I forfeit, Isaiah. You win." she said with a heavy sigh.
"I win?" he repeated, slightly confused before a lightbulb went off in his head and his face lit up along with it. "That mean I get your number?"
"Z'hat means you get my number."
"ALRIGHT!"

Keegan hadn't exactly been knowing what to expect when he entered the gym, but now that he had a taken a pretty good look around, he was almost disappointed. He ignored Dante's comment as he stared down at the immaculate wood floors. The level of cleanliness of the place rivaled his mother's, and she was almost obsessive-compulsive about it. At the far end of the room, Keegan spotted two doors, above each a sign but they were too far away for him to read from here. Helios remained dutifully at his side as they advanced forward, now catching sight of the middle-aged man waiting for them. He introduced himself as Norman and accepted the redhead's challenge, which Keegan grinned at. His smirk faded, however, as the man mentioned something about gym trainers and stepped through the left-side door.
Keegan gave an obnoxiously loud groan of protest before turning back to glare at Dante. "Don't think I won't deck you just because you're girly," he grumbled, gaze falling on the baby Turtwig again. A chirp from Hades made him realize that watching the battles would probably be good for the Axew as well, so feeling like a little bit of payback was in order, he steppe forward and deposited the baby dragon alongside his new "sister" in Dante's arms. "There you go, Mama," he said, patting both baby Pokemon on the head. "Take good care of our babies." He'd turned to pick out a door, but Dante mentioning that his dragon's egg had appeared magically from the sky stopped him in his tracks. "Funny you should say that," he said, looking back at the auburn-haired boy. "Hades' egg appeared to me out of nowhere, too. But, I was in a hospital bathroom, attempting to blow up a toilet."
That last part was spoken perhaps a bit too casually as he strolled toward the right-hand door. The sign read "Accuracy Room". More curious than put off, Keegan went to the door Norman had exited through, Helios watching his every step. "Speed Room," he muttered, looking back at the other door again before deciding this one was good enough. That, and he didn't feel like walking back across the room again. "C'mon, Diana," he called back to Dante, having not forgotten the feminine name he'd picked out for himself back during their little 'adventure' to the Celadon Gym; Erika and her blasted rules about boys in her gym and he snickered to himself as he pushed open the door.
Naturally, an eager trainer was waiting in the next room and he grinned expectantly as Keegan and his entourage filed in. That grin, however, faded as he was met with a sour look from the redhead. "Welcome to the, uh, Speed Room?" he said, shuffling back a few nervous paces. "I'm Randall, and if you can beat my super-speedy Pokemon, you can move on to the next room." To prove his point, he released an energetic-looking Swellow - too bad that energy wouldn't last.
"Okay, Randall, if you insist," Keegan sighed, only his gaze flickering over to Helios. The Ninetales stepped forward, his eyes already glowing a bright red. His nine tails all fanned out around him as he began to build up his internal heat. The fox knew his trainer was eager to skip past the appetizers and go right for the main course, and he intended to make that happen. He opened his mouth and blasted an intense burst of fire that quickly morphed into a five-pointed star and headed right for the now-terrified Swellow.

From the moment Kasiya felt the first rain drop hit her nose panic had startled to settle in, and even though the rainfall wasn't all that torrential (Mike and Kasiya exaggerate? Never!) she knew it would be painful for Mike nevertheless. Not bothered by the rain as it soaked her hair and clothes, she paced back and forth on the spot, trying to think of a solution to the problem. Mike's frightened cries didn't help at all to focus her, and she glared up at the dark clouds defiantly, even as a bolt of lightning ripped across the sky. Her fingers danced over the Pokeballs on her belt as the wheels in her head spun, and she glanced over at Mike, knowing that all it would take was one gust of wind and he could very well lose his umbrella.
She sighed angrily and kicked a rock - it wasn't like she could control the weather or anything - oh wait just a minute, yes she freaking could! "Shocker, use your Light Screen and help keep the rain off Mike, I'll be right back," she called, sending out the Raichu with a flick of her wrist. The sudden change in weather didn't bother the mouse and static electricity crackled from her cheeks. Regardless, she did as she was told, focusing her willpower into a solid barrier which she directed up above herself and Mike, which wasn't an entirely easy way to position the normally vertical Light Screen. It was a temporary fix at best and wouldn't last very long, and Shocker looked to Mike, wishing there was more she could do to help them.
Kasiya, meanwhile, had gone into a full-sprint towards the nearby Pokemon Center, already having taken Pepper's Luxury Ball from her belt. She was quite a soaking mess by the time she got inside, water dripping everywhere as she sloshed over to the PCs. "Come on, come on," she grumbled as the device took its sweet time loading up her storage system, and she quickly swapped Pepper for the only Pokemon she had in her possession that could possibly help the situation. She hardly waited for the logoff sequence to finish before she was bolting outside again. Hang on, Mike! she thought desperately as she ran, able to see her love and her Raichu just ahead. The rain had started to fall a little bit harder and the ground was now slick with puddles. The very same rock she'd kicked before came back to bite her in the a** as she tripped right over it, falling hard to the ground and flat on her stomach about twenty feet away from where Mike and Shocker were. The Pokeball she'd held in her hand clattered to the ground and popped open, revealing her lovely Meganium.
"Rose," the girl wheezed, as her fall had knocked the wind out of her, "Sunny Day!" Rosemary didn't question the command and raised her head, all of her pink flower petals starting to glow brightly. Giving a cry, the Meganium then fired off a concentrated ball of light directly overhead, and within a matter of seconds the rain stopped and the skies turned clear, making way for the warming, welcoming sunshine. Finally having an idea of what it felt like to be the hero, Kasiya laughed weakly and put her head down on the pavement, also now understanding how Mike had found it to be so comfortable in the first place.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan chuckle a little at Jade's response. Who would inherit his Pokemon if something happened to him? "You would," he said quickly and honestly, flashing her a genuine smile. She probably wasn't aware of it, but at the moment, Jade really was his only actual friend.
The two teens were also unaware of the downright nasty looks the biker woman was shooting their way - how dare they flirt, and in the middle of a battle, too? Her Croagunk was lying face-down on the ground and she recalled it, still glaring at the spiky blond, clearly able to care less about the touchy-feely-bullshit going on between the teens. "Are you two lovebirds quite finished?" she snarled. "We've got a battle to finish!" She only had one Pokemon left to use, but she didn't need those damned kids knowing that as she practically hurled a green and black Dusk Ball at the ground, revealing a strange Pokemon that almost rivaled Sigilyph with its odd appearance.
Jaeshan's first thought was that it was another Poison-type, as it seemed to be a theme with these two, but he checked his PokeDex nevertheless, the command for another Stored Power ready on his lips. He quickly learned, however, that the biker chick's Spiritomb was actually a dual Ghost/Dark-type, and though he wasn't sure how he knew the Psychic-type attack would be useless, he managed to stop himself from giving the order just the same. The problem now was that the only thing Sigilyph could actually attack with was... "Gust!" the blonde shouted. At the very least, a boosted special attack would benefit this attack. Still feeling the effects of the Croagunk's Taunt, Sigilyph flapped his wings, sending a sharp twister of air at the strange Pokemon.
"Take it, Spiritomb, and use Ominous Wind," the biker woman sneered. Spiritomb took the hit from Sigilyph's Gust like a champ, even going so far as to cackle as it send out a blast of wind of its own, only this one was thick and murky and seemed to reek with despair and hopelessness. Sigilyph cried out again, drifting back from the super-effective hit. Both strikes against him had been strong and he was starting to feel weak, but he refused to give in; not when Jaeshan needed him!
=-=-=-=-= While Surge was fairly certain that his Electrike was a bit more experienced than Amy's Hitmontop, the fact that most Electric-types were quite fragile in the first place definitely evened that out some. Surge felt a little more in control as Electrike's Thunder Wave did the trick and brought the Handstand Pokemon to a standstill - what a nice opening for an attack! "Headbutt, go!" the large man barked, and the green and yellow canine darted forward, lowering his head in an attempt to smash it into the Fighting-type.

Blowing up a toilet? “Please don’t explain that, just… I don’t want to know why you were trying to blow up a toilet.” How odd that the toilet part was more interesting to him then the magic egg part. “At least yours is well behaved.” Dante shifted the small Axew in his arms up to where it could rest in the little sling his scarf could provide.
“Also, you deck me I call child services.” He threatened dryly. “Keep up with the name calling and you might have a cheerleader rooting for you from the side lines. Don’t think I won’t do it. There are a lot of things I am willing to do in the name of revenge.” Dante mentioned offhandedly as Keegan brought up that oh so fun cross dressing adventure. Still, it had all been worth it because he actually managed to get Keegan into those clothes, somehow. Snickering slightly at the memory Dante followed Keegan into the so called speed room. “Figures you would pick the Speed Room Keegan.” Dante chuckled quickly retreating over to the spectators section; he figured that if Keegan did decide to deck him he could use both of his ‘hostages’ as shields. Leaning against the wall he watched as Keegan started the battle with Randall the Pokemon trainer with super speedy Pokemon.
“All right you two let’s watch.” Dante leaned against the wall as Keegan sent out the ever eager to set things on fire Ninetails. “Hm, maybe this battle isn’t for you.” He muttered as he patted the tiny Turtwig on the head. After all Helios was a fire type and his baby Turtwig was a grass type, she also had never seen a Pokemon battle before so this might leave a bad impression. Dante also wasn’t the best of parents and didn’t care all that much. “Hades right?” He asked the small little Axew. “You should probably pay attention; after all soon you will be blasting stuff all around.” He paused for a moment before smirking slightly as he glanced over at the now ongoing battle making sure Keegan was paying attention to that. While the battle was interesting he was much more interested in messing with the others stuff. “Also, little secret that your trainer is pretty embarrassed about, since I like you though I am going to tell you the quickest way to become his favorite. So when Keegan is getting changed you play keep away from him with it. He loves to play it but he gets really embarrassed about it and will keep yelling at you to stop and all that stuff. Keep going though, Helios used to do it all the time and why else do you think Keegan likes him so much?” Trainer and friend of the year right here.

Jett smiled at the sight of Bugsy's reaction to the Stun Spore; it felt admittedly good to see the gym leader sweat, just a little. Truth be told, the boy was enjoying this battle more and more as it went on, although the feeling might not be mutual. It felt good to be battling again, and it was a welcome lesson in what his team could use. For example, Aerosmith could use a bit more diversity in his movepool, considering how uneffective Grass-type moves would be on a Bug/Poison-type. Ah, well. He'd work with what he had, and Aerosmith was no pushover. Not even when confronted with a bee with large, dangerous stingers, coming right for him.
"Watch out!" he called as Beedrill swooped behind him, but it was too late. Aerosmith turned at the last second, finding the Twineedle stabbing into his chest. The Beautifly cried out in surprise and flew away, eyes narrowing. But a second later, he winced. The nigh-invisible source of his pain, as Jett was regretfully informed by his Pokedex and by the purple hue slowly coloring the butterfly, was a side-effect of the Poison Bee's attack: poisoning. "Damn." The dark-haired boy frowned. "Okay, Aerosmith, use Gust again." Angered by the (albeit lessened) damage taken from that attack and its aftermath, the Butterfly Pokemon was all too eager to comply, flapping his wings enough to generate enough wind to be sent churning towards the bee. That'll show him!

Amy was unsure of what to say in that moment, as Surge commanded for another attack, rightfully taking opportunity of her Pokemon's paralysis. The familiar cold rush of fear began to creep up her spine, but she attempted to resist, looking back at her Pokedex to scan through Lee's other moves. "Um... Rolling Kick!" she decided, a moment too late, as Electrike had successfully rammed its head into the now-statuesque Hitmontop, eliciting a grunt of pain as he fell back and tried to right himself.
However, before the Electrike was too quick to retreat, the attack (finally) seemed to register in the Hitmontop's mind. He spun forward, swinging his leg down, aiming to slam it on the crown of the Electrike's head, making up for his new lack of speed with the boost of power granted by his Technician ability. Amy sighed with relief, glad to see that he was at least moving again. Perhaps all was not lost yet.

Unlike his partner, Clay was unconcerned with his opponent's distraction; after all, he still had his first Pokemon in the ring, and this made him think that he was lucky enough to get the weaker of the pair. Although the Antidote + Potion refresher was, in his opinion, a cowardly and unfair move, he would not let that get him down. He sneered at the raven-haired girl when her attentions returned to him after she stood up, collecting the empty cannisters of her items. "You ready to finish this?" he called.
"Yeah," Jade responded, trying not to show how she was thrown off-guard by her near-encounter with his Stunky's claws. "I'm getting a bit bored. Cirrus, Spark." The Flash Pokemon once again glowed, and he immediately charged after the skunk. Clay ordered another Poison Gas, but the kitten rammed into the skunk's side and it seemed like it was lights out. Perhaps it was because of Stunky's weak defenses, or because of it's lack of healing as compared to its now downright healthy opponent, but it was done for the day. Clay recalled it and seemed to remain silent for a second, before he released a Pokemon that resembled a small hippo. Before Jade could say anything, the hippo exhaled slowly and it seemed that the wind picked up. Sand began to pick up from the hippo's body and from the ground and, within moments, their small battlefield (and the surrounding area, making several of the spectators back away in surprise) was a sandstorm. "What the hell?" Jade asked, squiting and covering her mouth with her sleeve.
"Bet ya ain't so confident anymore!" Clay sneered, although he was also covering his mouth. He really hated using Hippopotas due to the Sandstorm (it took forever to get out of his boots), but this girl was asking for it! "Use Dig!" Both Jade and Cirrus tried to keep an eye on the Hippo Pokemon, but the sandstorm was obscuring their vision and soon, it was completely gone. Jade commanded for Cirrus to be on his guard. Glancing over at Jake, she saw that his opponent had switched Pokemon as well, picking out something that seemed quite intimidating. She hoped that he and his Sigilyph would be all right.

As Ben continued his way up the platform, he was met with another Trainer. 'Man, why don't they just let you get straight to the Gym Leader?' he groaned internally. This seemed to be a kid around his age, too. "Am I gonna have to fight you to get to Falkner?" he asked, pausing in his steps when the kid approached him. "You bet!" the kid replied, grabbing up one of his pokeballs. "Two Pokemon! There's no getting to the Leader if you can't beat me first!" Just like that, he was sending out a Pidgey which chirped cutely. Was this really a Gym trainer's Pokemon? Grinning a bit, Ben snagged up his own pokeball and tossed it. "Alright, you wanna use a Pidgey? I'll show you a real Pidgey!" he shouted, his own bird releasing and flaring out his wings in a slow flap, eying his opponent with a hard expression. It seemed like Pidgey had even more drive to succeed after he'd lost against Jasper's Koffing.
The Gym Trainer was the first to call his move. "Pidgey, use Sand Attack!" The tiny bird started flapping its wings quickly, kicking up some dust toward Ben's bird, making him laugh. "Don't you know that Pidgey's keen eyesight can penetrate any cover? Pidgey, use Gust!" he shouted, his own Pidgey flapping hard and kicking up a strong gust of air that blew away the foe Pidgey's dust cloud and lifted it up into the air a bit before dissipating and letting the bird fall back onto the platform, leaving his opponent looking a little shocked. It seemed like he had just become an apprentice bird trainer under Falkner, and didn't have much experience, yet.
