Josophine one again returned to the shrine, but it was evening time now. The sun was setting and painting the sky in beautiful shades of lavender and orange. The air was cold, gentle, and fresh. A perfect evening in any other eyes. The land was soft as shes stepped gently up hill in her dark slippers and light, black, dress. She was making her way to the top of the waterfall; where the echo of her flute would be gentle and beautiful. Once Josophine had reached the top her glossy eyes sparkled at the marvelous view from this high point.
After few moments had passed- Josophine sat down with her legs gently laying against the rock that hung over the edge of the watter fall. She then began to play a sweet melody that echoed through out the shrine. The silver flute glistened under the setting sun as a perfect tune was elicited from it.

Ariku snuck away from the two and walked over to Josophine.
"Hello again," she said and bowed. "Did you find the kimono shop?"

The wonderful melody of the flute seized to flow as Jososphine's cat like eyes met Ariku's gaze. There was a moment of silence before she responded "I indeed found it. But I chose not to go in." After another moment of silence she spoke again with her perfectly tuned voice. "I hear you have become the head geisha of your Okiya, congratulations."

Ariku looked at Josophine and smiled.
"Arigatou gozaimasu. I'm happy to have the pleasure of becoming a head geisha," she said with a spark in her eyes. "But, I've heard that some of the okiya's have been shut down. Is this true?"

Josophine sighed. It was a bit saddening to her that business followed her here. But this was expected since her work tends to become the talk of town. "Indeed. They were shut down... they were running out of business. Not able to pay the money because the geishas and maikos weren't brining anything in for over 6 months.... the women are sent to a camp/Okiya where they are to be held till a new Okiya is finished building.... it's scheduled to be up around August 10th."

Ariku looked down, slightly sad for asking. Her eyes glossed over, but she got a hold of herself and looked up at Josophine.
"Oh, well at least they get a new beginning," she said with a forced smile. "But, enough of work, are you enjoying it here? I know it must be different for you and could take some getting used to. I know it did for me."
She didn't want to sit, because she was suspecting she might be a nuisence.

Josophine looked up at Ariku with the eyes of an innocent child. "It's nice here... it's always nice to have a fresh start and have someone nice, like yourself, welcoming you."

Ariku blushed slightly at the compliment. She was glad to be appreciated.
"Arigatou Josophine-san. I'm glad you like it here," she paused a moment and looked up. "I guess that is what grabs you about this place. It's new and different. Plus there are mostly friendly faces."
She smile again and thought.
"Oh, yeah. So, you decided not to get a kimono?" she asked politely.

Josophine lowered her eyes for a moment letting her now snow white hair fall and cover her face as she thought of a proper response. A moment later her gaze met Ariku's and she spoke with a melodic voice. " I do plan to get a kimono- but latter, once I have established my Okiya and start attending the teahouse. For now, I'll be peachy keen with the cloths I brought with me. It could be thought of me sharing my culture with you before I become absorbed in to yours."

Ariku thought a moment and smiled. She thought that that was a great idea. Especially since a lot of the girls there didn't know much of the rest of the world.
She nodded, "That is a nice idea. Nice learning experience for everyone. Plus, you will be reminded of your home, it's best to do things slowly. I remember I became extremely homesick, because I was instantly absorbed into this culture. You are very wise Josophine-san." she said then realized she was probably talking too much.

A pleasant smile danced on Josophine's lushes and crimson lips. "Thank you Ariku- you are very sweet- would you like to accompany me to the teahouse latter this week? I would be honored to have a fine Geisha such as yourself to introduce me, slowly, in to the culture."

"Thank you very much, I would love to join you at the tea house," she said graciously. "Have you been able to go before, since you have been here?"

She sighed innocently "Sadly not yet- I have been busy trying to calm down all the new transfered girls- and prepare one of them before I leave to go back to Europe to pick up some unfinished busyness... I wouldn't want things going uncared for while I may be away."

She nodded.
"Mmm, yeah, I know what you mean. You are lucky you get to go back so soon. Well, as long as this business isn't going to stress you out too much. But that is none of my business. I recently was able to visit my home back in France. It's funny how Europe and Japan are so different." she said pondering a bit.

"Indeed."Her eyes drifted to the sky and the sun. The sky glowed a radiant orange and pink as the sun was still a decent high in the air. She then gracefully rose up and straitened out the ruffles in her skirt. "Well I must get back before the sun sets. Please visit me at Kyampu whenever you are comfortable- be it for a nice chat or cup of tea at the teahouse."
