Earendil smiled gently as they reached Lin's room. "I don't know what that means," he replied quietly, "but it sounds like a plan. Is there anything I need to prepare for it?"

If they were going to have a morning to themselves, he wanted to make sure they would be able to make the most of it.

Earendil tilted his head curiously, but he nodded. "Of course. Whatever you like."

He nudged the door open with one foot and stepped inside to hold it open for Lin as well. "Shall we visit Rhea and Aurin directly after breakfast, then, and go from there?" he asked. "If she is up to it, of course."

"Likely," Earendil agreed, following Lin to the bed and setting Miyuki down carefully. "From my knowledge, it usually takes a woman a week or sometimes longer to recover fully ... of course, taking care of the baby is exhausting itself, and I'm sure with two of them to take care of she may take even longer to fully recover. Still, it is Rhea we're talking about ..."

He chuckled softly. "She just might siphon energy from someone else if she's not careful."

"She is indeed," he laughed. He covered his mouth so that he wouldn't wake Miyuki, but he was still chuckling. "Aye ... Rhea's always been full of surprises. But that's no surprise by now."

He leaned against a bedpost. "So. Bedtime, yes?"

Earendil blinked, surprised, and sat down on the bed obediently, since that was his best bet for getting closer to her height.

"Hai?" he asked, not even realizing that he was using the same word that Miyuki used. It was a habit that he had picked up without knowing it.

Earendil blushed brightly, taken completely by surprise by Lin's actions. Until now, it had always been him giving her a goodnight kiss ...

His instinct now was to return the kiss, a real kiss, but it was neither the time nor the place. But he couldn't even begin to hide the wide smile that had appeared on his face. Slowly, he rose to his feet again and wrapped both arms around her. He hugged her tightly, gently stroking her head with one hand. When he finally trusted himself not to take things further than he should, he leaned over and kissed her on the top of the head as well.

"Sweet dreams," he murmured softly in reply. He released her and looked down at her, his eyes warm. He brushed his thumb gently across her cheek. "I love you," he murmured softly, barely above a whisper, his eyes bright.

Lin's words filled Earendil with the most wonderful warmth he had ever felt, and his smile, already wide, grew wider still. He brushed his thumb across her cheek one more time, then leaned down and kissed her on the forehead one last time before heading towards the door.

"Good night," he murmured as he closed the door behind himself.
