Sapphire paused for a long moment. The way he'd reacted...well she didn't have much of a reason to believe what Batman had said wasn't true. After a moment, she shook her head gently and sighed. "World's been smashed together, been running around nonstop, my appartment's been totaled, I woke up pregnate, and now this news..." she started, her voice no longer shaky but now very tired sounding. "...I really don't know how to react."
She should leave. She really should. Not sure where she'd go, but she should probably go. She'd already gotten herself into this mess...best to not make it worse. She could probably teleport herself to that spot in the Batcave that she had hid in.

Savage got up, and in a second was face to face with Sapphire. "You will not keep that child, or children, if what the Bat said was right, from me. My last woman tried that. I found my daughter anyways. I am possibly the single most dangerous man in my Universe, the Bat being my main competition for that title. There is no one alive that knows more about assassination than I do. I sank Atlantis. You are of no concequence to me. I could cut you open and retrieve those babies from you right now. They're of my blood. They'd survive. You would not. It is a mark of repect for you that I have not already done so." His charade was over. Vandal Savage was revealing himself to her. "You. Will NOT. Take them from me. Try as you might, I WILL find you. And I promise you, I WILL kill you for it. I have eternity to keep my promise. Do YOU have the energy to keep running?" The immortal backed off a little, but kept staring her in the eyes. "The other option is to stay with me. You will want for nothing. You will be treated like a queen for as long as you live. Which shall it be?"

Sapphire locked eyes with Savage. The tiredness behind them vanished, and fire seemed to spark behind them. "Well...that sounds familiar." she said quietly. Blackstone had given her a similar choice. Either she became his or someone died. In this case it would be her. But he wasn't Blackstone. She could use her powers around him. And she wasn't afraid of him. ...at the same time...her strands would be about all she could use. Being...in this state, she wouldn't be able to do much. And honestly she was tired of this whole thing.

"I'm sure it does," Savage replied, "You told me enough to know that last night. ...I could be convinced of a third option, though," he continued. "You can leave, you can try to have a normal life, you can try to raise our children in peace. But if you try to hide them, or yourself, from me, I will kill you."

The fire in Sapphire's eyes died down a bit. She kept eye contact with him a moment, then looked away. Normal life? No such thing with her. And she couldn't raise them with nothing. She had to leave Andrew alone or at H.Q. half the time in her own world. She wouldn't be able to do that with infants. She could have Warp...but then if she got attatched and Savage came for them... Damn it.

Suddenly, and completely without warning, someone slammed Savage's head forward into the table. "That," growled a disembodied voice, "Is coercion, and now you HAVE done something illegal."

Savage's head bounced off the table with a loud 'THUNK!', knocking him half senseless as he fell to the ground, partly from impact, and partly from surprise; he hadn't seen a thing. He staggered back to his feet and looked around, but didn't see a thing. "Where are you, Batman? You're only human. You don't have powers. Why can't i see you?"

Sapphire instinctively backed away once Vandal went down. She hadn't been expecting anything like that to happen. But she definately wasn't complaining; she had help now. Couldn't say she felt bad for that little sneak attack on Savage either. He deserved that. Now...she just had to figure out what to do. Let Batman take care of him? Help him? Grab her costume and get out of here? She really couldn't do much.

Another stunningly effective punch came out of thin air. "Newer model," the voice replied flatly, "And to set the record straight, you'll hunt her down and kill her only over the cold, dead bodies of everyone in the Justice League of America, and your batting average against them has been less than impressive so far. Don't," it added in a lower, much more dangerous voice, "Make me hunt you down again." A second or two later the new, much sleeker-looking bat sort of slid into view near the door and turned his attention to Sapphire. "I know where Warp and Alex are, if you're interested in staying with them."

Sapphire turned her attention towards the unfamiliar Batman as he made himself visible. Her eyes widened slightly after he spoke. Warp and Alex? She'd just had a little visit with Warp not very long ago, but she didn't know that Alex was here. She'd left her univers after that whole incident with Blackstone, but as far as she knew, Alex had forgiven her. They should still be friends, and she knew she could count on Alex to help her if that was still the case. But...if Alex got a glimps of who was responsible for her current state, well, she could become a bit grudgish again. Then again, she might tear into Savage rather than get mad at her. The better knews would be Warp. He truely could help her out with this little problem. After all, he frequently claimed that he could erase someone from existance with that little reversal power of his. If nothing else, he could at least take a few months off so that she could properly defend herself. Then after getting some things settled out...well she'd figure it out from there.
She glanced back at the floor and spotted her costume lying on the floor. A few sapphire strands appeared around the costume and wrapped around it. It soon lifted off the ground and drifted towards her, where she grabbed it and tucked it under her arm.

Savage fell over from the punch, but immediately got back up to his feet. He grabbed the knife off of the table, and threw it at the now-visible Batman, whom the immortal could clearly see to be much smaller than he should've been.

A few blue sapphire strands soon found themselves around the dagger that had just been tossed at the Bat, suspending in in the air. Sapphire gave a small glance over towards Savage, then started towards Batman for the door. "Broken door should be enough damage to pay for. No need to add stains to the bill." she commented. Plus...she felt much better having an escort out of here.

"That's the nice thing about black cards," Savage replied, his words tinged with furiousness, as he grabbed two more knives from the belt, "Price doesn't matter." Then, Savage leapt at the Bat, knives ready.

Batman calmly brought slid to the side enough that he was out of the way of one of the knives, blocked the other arm at the wrist, caught the wrist, and proceeded to twist said wrist around towards a rather painful joint lock. "Depends on the price, Savage," he stated coldly.

"You can't cost the ultimate one, Batman... If that's who you are," Savage said, realizing that this 'Batman' sounded too differently from the one he knew, "You don't kill, and you won't start now, not for me, not when you can't kill those who've done worse."
