If the previews before the movie I saw this afternoon are to be believed, this summer is going to be nothing but blow up DC and thinly plotted sequels and tie-ins. Then again, I'm totally counting out Star Trek Into Darkness in that list. This summer the White House will be blown up in White House Down and World War Z and we will once again visit the fun times of the Hangover gang and the Vin Diesel solve crimes with cars Fast and Furious franchise tries to wow us for a sixth time. Then we'll get Despicable and Grow Up again while federal agents from the back of the Perkin's menu and the pages of the AARP Bulletin go after each other again and there's more old school gore on the VHS and the Smurfs are Smurfy again. Oh and the gods are at it again when Percy Jackson goes looking for some golden fleece (I'll probably go see it though since I saw the first one). There's also more Iron Man and Monsters in college and Planes but those actually look fun. And at some point Wolverine gets mortal in Japan.
Other than a small handful of movies that aren't tie-ins and thinly plotted sequels or let's blow up DC epics this summer looks kind of bad where movies are concerned. Thank god for Man of Steel, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Iron Man 3, and the Pixar franchises.

Ain't nothing wrong with a bit o' cheese now and then! For example, I'm actually kind of looking forward to seeing Riddick and the 2nd Anchorman film later this year. whee LOL @ the spam sushi lol Actually Spam ain't so bad if you make it as fritters (i.e. fried in eggy batter.) My mum used to make it with rice if we had nothing in the cupboard. whee
