Hmm... Serithia seems to have disappeared. We were PMing each other to sort out the details of the snowball fight, but she hasn't replied to my last PM yet, which was sent about 5 days ago. Has anyone else seen her around?
In answer to Antoinilia's concerns, Serithia and I have tried to make the snowball fight as simple as possible, but with maximum opportunities for participation. It's not easy. sweatdrop If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
As for Neavah's question, we weren't originally planning to have teams, but that might be a good idea. What does everyone think?
I may have to try set up the snowball fight on my own if Serithia doesn't reappear sometime soon. When should I set it up (at least, set up as much of it as I can)? I'd like to wait for Serithia to reappear, but that might not be possible...

Yes, I did put in several rules for the monster fighting game, and most of them were to smooth out the operation of it. However, the different fighting styles, the different roll numbers for house bonuses, and the different ways those styles/numbers affected different monsters did make it a little more complex than it strictly needed to be.
Perhaps a snowball fight won't be that convoluted...
I wouldn't suggest teams for that sort of thing, though. They solidify too rapidly and it's often difficult for a newcomer to join in on the action. Leave it as a free-for-all, perhaps. More targets that way.
Sometime, we need to do an event with a mini-game just for elves...make it a special Elf Event or something. Not necessarily for Christmas (since that is fast drawing near, and we've not done a thing for it except brainstorm...) but someday...someday...
ONLYTONI: I'm guessing you want a sort of storyline, or for the mods to have something engaging to keep the roleplay in the general chat thread moving along...
As for romance: I'd be inclined to wait for Valentine's day for that sort of thing. It's themed a little more closely that way.
((But if we ever did throw in such a plot, don't count on me participating that much in the area. Not really my cuppa tea.))

Heh. If I'M helping with the snowball fight, chances are it will be fairly convoluted. Not on purpose, of course. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible. Having Serithia's help means it'll probably turn out not quite as convoluted as it could be. sweatdrop

I'm really not sure what I should do. We (Serithia and I) need to make a thread for the snowball fight so that we can get it organized and running as soon as possible. However, Serithia seems to have disappeared again. I don't want to just go ahead and make the thread because it was Serithia's idea in the first place, and if I make the first posts (for rules, etc) she won't be able to edit them. Another problem is if Serithia keeps disappearing once we actually have the game running.
Basically, I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

Whoever's on more often should probably make the thread, that way you can edit the thing quickly. Whoever doesn't make the thread can just ask one of us mods to edit your posts for you if needs be.
Is it really important that both of you be around to look after the game when it's started?
EDIT: Oh! And can one of you make a post in the new Yule Ballroom in the Event forum when you get the chance? The post should have a little summary of your game and a link to the game thread I think. I'm aiming to get most if not everything up before New Years at this point o_o

Ok. I'm on almost every day, so I'll make the thread. I hope Serithia doesn't mind... (it WAS her idea, after all) I'll make a load of posts in the thread (and most likely delete some of them when I discover I don't need them). It'll take me a couple days (it's 11:00 pm right now) to get it sorted out and ready to go.

I'm so happy to see that there are members from each house still around. [If the Headmaster and Heads agree I'm sure we have our picks for term Deputy Heads and Prefects.]
Quick Run-Through:
Alutian's idea for a Mini-Elf event sounds great...(we need to do another membership recruitment thing)
I've been gone for about a month and I'm happy things have started moving again and I'm glad members are participating in discussing an event.
Seeing as I've been gone I want to know things before I even begin throwing out ideas. One of my ideas might even be overthrowing. How is the event going so far? Be honest.

Hello Icee, and welcome back (again).
I also like Alutian's mini elf event idea. I'll try to do some brainstorming.
To be honest, the event isn't doing that great. It's not doing HORRIBLY, but it could be MUCH better. Then again, it's only just started. I think we should at least give this event another few days (or even a week) before considering shutting it down. Juni's avatar runway has only been going for a couple days and has a few entries.
I only JUST (like 2 minutes ago) opened the Snowball Fight. I'll give you an update in a few days on how that's going. I'm actually quite worried about it because I've never headed anything like this before and haven't taken part in anything similar, like the pillow fight, so I don't have much to pull ideas from. I'll give it a try and see how it goes. I have to learn how to best do these things somehow, and I can always alter things if needed. I worried about two main things: 1) That it's way too complicated, so people won't give it a try and 2) That there's just not that many people around right now, so i won't get many people playing it anyway.
However, it is a winter event and doesn't rally have a time limit, so I suppose we could just leave it running for a while and see what happens (sort of like the haunted house, which now has quite a few more people).
That was a LOT longer than I intended it to be. sweatdrop
Going to go advertise the event in the common room...

@alutian= The thought of a mini-elf thing sounds nice and if needed i will happily help. also i think there are more elfs than there are students and i think they willlike it.
@Icee=I'm happy to see you back! I was wondering where you, and other guild mambers, were. I see some returning and i will try to get more joining.
Ingeneral= I was wondering if any threads needed some help. If any is needed i will help out.

As far as I know, try-outs are unavailable because the game needs to be tested before we can start forming teams for it. I haven't been paying attention to what DevilsDarkAngel's been doing though, so you may find better answers by PMing him about it.
All I can say right now is that if you want to be involved with quidditch, join the quidditch guild I talked about in the announcement.
