"Ashleisu is merely the most common language of Anier, since the city was relatively isolated from the rest of the world by a variety of natural defenses; those of Anier developed their own language." she affirmed. "My native tongue is nothing more than a remnant of a much greater whole, and whether I will it or not, Time will see Anier and its history to the end." Issildia then looked at Sin with an irritated expression, "And you would need more than a bit of 'free time' to learn Anier's language."
"I doubt it would be worth learning anyway." Added Sylph as she hastened the pace of the horse she rode to catch up with them. The brittle sound of lifeless plant debris being crushed beneath the horses feet, filled the odd silence that followed in the wake of the politician's remark.
Unlike Sylph had predicted, Issildia did not offer up any sort of rebuke for the spiteful comment. She had already realized Sylph's irksome habit of trying to discover the emotional triggers of her companions; only to then to try and get a reaction out of them.

((am I on a horse? or Am I jogging next to you guys? Cuz Sin is fast on foot but he can't keep up with a horse at full gallop))
"just becouse it isn't worth learning doesn't mean I shouldn't try..."
Sin said looking at Sylph then back to Issilida.
"... then we use a lot of free time... A little bit here a little bit there... but if you don't want to teach me the language what about the history of the Anier? I mean what exactly happend to you and your people?"

(You are walking, last I checked lol. And we are not moving fast at all. Merely a walk, not even a canter or a gallop. There are only 2 horses, and they were a result of time spent in the Aldrene desert, long before you joined the rp lol.)
"And why, pray tell would you want to know about Anier, and its language" she asked with a sarcastic twinge threaded through her words. "Mankoi lle irma sint...?" She added in her native tongue.
(Anierian translations---Why do you wish to know these things?)

((right then, thanks 3nodding ))
"well those who pay attention might have rememberd my reasons for following you in the first place..."
Sin said rolling his eyes and looking back at the sky.
"I told you before... I was sent from the Monkoto temple in order to lean about the world and the people that live outside the temple... there's no point in being the wisest man in the world if you don't know how it works..."
He reached upwards and clasped his hand, pretending to crush a cloud that appared in a gap in the foliage.
"I want to know things... to be able to see the flow of history... to be able to see the world with much wiser eyes... to be able to understand why people like Reinsen want to sacrifice there peoples lives for pointless reasons and why people like you are so dertimined to stop him..."
He looked down and over at Issilida and studied her with his eyes, his face serious as he watched her reaction to his next comment.
"can you say to me thats not something worth working and striveing for?"

Sin looked back up at the sky for a moment thinking of what he should ask first.
"Well... lets start with Reinsen... you said he's not just a mindless tyrant, I know that he's powerful on his own, but why exactly is he going after this city? I mean last I rememer from what people have told me his own kingdom is fairly large... why go after other places as well? I doubt very much its something like simple conquest... whats his objective?"

Issildia glanced away for a brief moment as she collected her thoughts before she dully centered her gaze on the path ahead. "It is a little known fact that many millennia ago, when the Nevar clan came to the kingdom of Larovia and unsurped the monarchy of that time, that the kingdom of Keirdon had yet to come into being. For what is now the realm of Keirdon was once part of Larovia." Issildia eyes slipped out of focus slightly as she continued to recite the tale. "But soon after the Nevar clan claimed the kingdom as their own, a rebellion came into being. These rebels were composed of three different factions, the first was the largest of these groups, mainly composed of common folk that were mainly of Valtera, Nazuren, or Azerian blood. This group was led by the very man that now rules over Keirdon...Nicholas Remos." Issildia then glanced at Khastur as she continued on. "The second faction was composed of a group of talented celtarie that practiced the art of necromancy. The leaders of this group decended from a line of celtarie nearly as legendary as the Nevar...The Ryera. To this day those of Ryera blood preside over the decadents of those that followed them in that rebellion."
Turning back to Sin; Issildia continued on with the story. "And the last of these three was made up of the Anierians, led by the Matiers, the royal family of Anier....Though each of these groups differed in their ways of fighting against Larovia and those that led it; somehow they prevailed, thus splitting the kingdom of Larovia nearly in two in order to create Keirdon. The Ryera and those that followed them retreated to the dry wastelands of the Aldrene desert to continue to practice their craft unhindered by the woes of the outside world. And the Anierians created their own stronghold that bore the name of their very race...Anier, the White City..." Finally Issildia eyes grew focused as she recounted the last decade of the war. "After all these centuries, My father has decided to once more use Larovia as a tool...to repay those that tore his empire asunder all that time ago, and to reunite these lands under a single banner once again...If ever he has wished for anything more, it has been to gain control over all the realms that lie within his grasp."

Hmm... so it seems to me it is a lot simpler then I thought... I know there's some... A-Hem... A LOT of bad blood between everyone... but from where I stand it really does seem like Reinsen really is fighting a pointless war... I mean all his motives, from what you tell me, is simple vengance and greed..."
He sighs and puts his hands behind his head as he walks along side the horese.
"of course that is just my view on this whole affair..."
Silently Sin reeled inside, he felt disgusted at the very fact that the Monkoto were helping somebody with goals as simple as that.
'but what can I do... if I disobey all my people might suffer the concquences....'

"Reinsen believes that he is doing what is best for his kingdom. If you eliminate your enemies by taking them in as your own then you grow stronger while your list of opponents becomes shorter." Issildia said flatly. "He believes that some freedoms must be sacrificed for safety to be ensured, and as such, that is the way that he rules Larovia. Perhaps if this were an time of peace instead of an era of war...he may have been a just ruler..."

~In a forest to the west of Larovia, the assassin had once again shown himself. He was in a village hidden in the heart if the forest. As he approached the village, he was halted by the guard outside the gate. They addressed him in the very language in which he had spoken to Issildia.~
Etahdevo ouincamv , Stranger! (Identify yourself, Stranger! E ys Malkaia Ryomoku, Bnehla uv dra Matanuska. (I am Malkaia Ryomoku, Prince of the Matanuska.) Oui yna vyn vnus ouin rusa, Bnehla. (How credible is the information you've presented us? For all we know you may be an assassin.) E ys yh yccycceh. Vundihydamo vun oui, ouin Amtan ec hud eh so luhdnyld. (I am an assassin. Fortunately for you, your Elder is not in my contract.) Ryja ed ouin fyo, cdnyhkan. Oui syo bycc, pid nasaspan...oui'na yh uidcetan. (Save your threats mortal, and pray that you do not become unpleasant to mine.
~With that, the guard opened the gate to th village and let the stranger enter. He walked slowly, and calmly through the village. He remained cautious, although his face did not show. He knew that at any moment, one of the villagers could attempt to strike him down. He felt that he was being followed, but chose to remain complacent to the matter as he proceeded toward the temple. Once he arrived, he was guided to the inner sanctum, where he took a bow to the being who stood before him.~
Lord Aschera, ed ec yh ruhun. (Lord Aschera, it is an honor.) Malkaia Ryomoku, E ryja paah aqbaldehk oui. (Malkaia Ryomoku, I have been expecting you.)

"unification becouse of peace or conquest becouse of war, it's all the same thing, just diffrent methods of control... But what do you think? Dispite your bad blood, do you think he would be a good ruler?"
Sin looked at Issilida as he asked the question.
"and if he would be... would that stop you from trying to kill him?"

"These years of war have changed him, not that he was ever a kind person; no not in the least." she responded curtly before falling silent for a matter of moments before choosing to continue.
"He took it upon himself to eradicate nearly an entire race; perhaps had there never been the rebellion he would not have become what he is now. But I am most certain that he no longer posses the capacity to be a Just ruler....And even if he did become as such; he would still be repaid for all that he has done. No one should bear away their sins on the breath of time's embrace. Such fell deeds should not be forgotten...nor forgiven."

~Meanwhile, back in the underworld...~
Malkaia has been missing for some time. What do you thik has become of him brother? Solace: I could care less, but this beast he keeps here, there is something about it that I don't like. *roars loadly* What do you think we should do with it. It doesn't even have a normal form anymore. It's taken a devoluiton back to it's primitive state. I say we let it loose, in the human realm. If it wishes to eat that badly, why not let it feast on our enemies. How do you preseume to go about doint that? The damn thing devours everything that comes near it. Give me your bow. Ah. I get it now. twisted Just open the gate and enjoy the show. *fires the arrow at the lock*

Archer walked, head bowed, next to Issildia, and Sin. He did not know much about this person, barely his name. It did not bother him in the least. He was lost in thoughts though, there talk droning into and out of his skull

"But the past no longer matters...nor what might have been. We can spare little thought to such things with Keirdon in such a state, and Larovia simply waiting for the chance to reclaim its lands." she muttered to herself. Glancing back at Archer, Sin, Sylph and Khastur; Issildia's gaze darkened. How could no more than five people, change the fate of Keirdon. They all spoke as if a difference could be made, as if one person actually had the strength to change the fate of many. She had once been of such a mind, but fate had changed her views on such matters, as it had with so many others.
The hours passed and soon the sun graced the western horizon with its fleeting rays. Just as night fell and the silvered crescent of the moon appeared, the skeletal trees around them thinned out to give way to the open plains of Keirdon's border lands. Now no more than two days remained before they arrived in Faltora. They could only hope that Faltora would last until then.
At the edge of the forest Issildia set about starting a small fire at the base of a roughly hewn sandstone boulder. As the brush and branches she had gathered were set aflame, Issildia crossed the short distance that spanned their small camp to take up watch for the first few hours while the others attempted to get a bit of rest. Sylph was already trying to make herself comfortable on the rough cloth of her bed roll, still uncomfortable with her new lifestyle.
"How much longer until we reach the city?" Sylph questioned as she finally sat up, frustrated in trying to get some sleep.
"Two days..." said Issildia softly as she bowed her head.
"Sounds far to long a time to me." the politician retorted.
"If there were fewer of us we could travel during the night, but the Larovians will probably be advancing on Keirdon's lands during the night. And I don't think we want to run into them just yet."
