Batman?! Sapphire thought, moving out of the seat. That didn't really sound like the same man she had met earlier. But he was on the other side of the door. But...what was he doing here? And...what did he mean...?

Batman proceeded as though he hadn't heard. "Have you told her how you maintain that immortality of yours? No? Then I will. In order to maintain his immortality, Mr. Vandal Savage must consume his own offspring. Cannibalism. Twins, right? Lucky break, Savage. I'm surprised you aren't drooling."

"That's not true, Sapphire," Savage said, sincerity in his voice. It wasn't entirely true, anyways. Anyone in particular would do for maintaining his immortality, and he didn't need to feed on people all that often, anyways. He just needed his offspring should he find himself mortally wounded, or dying. He needed his offspring to save himself from certain death.

Sapphire stared wide eyed at both the door and Savage. He...he ate...
Her mind was about ready to shut off...it really was. That or she was seconds away from demolishing the entire room. But since she was...well too much physical work would be out of the question. Good thing ninety percent of her powers were mental.
And...if it was Batman, she had no reason to think that he was lying.
She turned her attention back to Savage and waited for an answer, but he obviously wasn't going to give one. Which usually...almost always meant that...

Savage finally reached the door. He took a step away, and gave the door a strong kick, breaking it off its hinges. Batman sounded like he was just on the other side of the door, so that should give Vandal Savage the advantage.

Sapphire stood where she was for a long moment, very quietly. She kept her focus on the tray of food and though. She had lost her appitite completely.

For a short moment, Sapphire didn't respond at all. Finally she glanced back over at Savage. "Yes...I suppose I do." she said quietly, her voice a bit shakey. "But I've already had two plates worth...should be enough..."

"If you say so," replied Savage. "I'm judging from your demeanor that you believed him, didn't you?" His tone made it sound more like a statement than a question. He already knew she did, they always did once they heard it. Even now, when he could easily argue that his daughter, Scandal, was still alive and well in her mid-twenties, she'd probably still try to keep the... twins?... away from him. Still, it was probably worth a shot. "Which means that if I told you about my daughter, Scandal Savage, who's currently alive and well, and in her mid-twenties, you still would not believe me, would you?" He made himself sound more helpless than factual this time, trying to, if nothing else, leave her torn about leaving him.
