His head lowered. "Vampires.. are such odd creatures. As the years pass.. our knowledge grows. But we're still the same age we were when we died. A small child that was turned can exist for trillions of years but still beg their guardian to let them play one more time. And right now.. I don't know whether to leave or beg." He looked up and watched her sit with his shiny eyes. Dymetri walked towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder, his thumb stroking her. She licked her lips, dry and almost chapped from not using proper care. "I don't remember anything bad happening. I was partially innocent throughout our time here." She swallowed. "My time here," she corrected. "I miss Colin," she said passionately, clinging on to Ialo in desperation. She made a soft surprised 'Oh' when she felt his hand upon hers. "You sometimes take unnecessary risks.." She looked up at him. "Did you know that? I think that if that changed, you wouldn't be stressed out all the time." Her thumb stroked the small vein that appeared on the hand she held, concerned about the reason why it showed. "And I know you're stressed, Ialo.. I can see it. You need a break from this.."

"No, I don't," Ialo lied. "I'm just fine." He wanted to pull his hand away, but couldn't. For some reason, despite the fact that Luna usually agitated him so much, he felt oddly calm standing here next to her. "My actions are perfectly justified. And besides..." Ialo looked down, frowning. "I can't take a break. There's no time. I have to do this."

Luna sighed. She didn't want to believe what he was saying but she chose to. It was just easier to not argue with Ialo. She looked him in the eye with her childish stubborn face on. "Yes, you can. You're the boss, and you're allowed to take at least a half-an-hour break." She slightly squeezed his hand tighter and let the tension break after a couple moments. "Let's grab a coffee."

"Yes, but -" Ialo stiffened, ready to fight back. But Luna's face.... five years of building up a cold and fierce exterior, and he felt it crumble away in a moment. ".... Fine" he said, surrendering. He retrieved his hand and walked away from the edge of the roof, a slight limp in his step.

Luna took a small sip of her Java Chip. "Thanks for paying for me, I believe I forgot my purse on the beach the day I saw your brothers and the angel," she blurted, unaware of the information she just passed. "I was probably robbed anyway. It's been a day already." She stared at his soft, worn-out features, almost in awe. His face matched the one in her recovered memories perfectly. Shaped into the mature man that he was, at least. The slight wrinkles along his forehead were visible, and the slight shadow across his cheeks and chin were noticeable, but they attracted her for some reason. For some reason. She smiled as if something humorous occurred in front of her and took another sip. "What was it that you ordered again?" The smell of the Starbucks Cafe was overwhelming. But, she did love the scent. It was amazing that the building didn't even exist when she was a student in Mystic Fountain, and now she was sitting in it with her ex-boyfriend. Wait.. did they even break up? Those memories were still hidden somewhere. Luna sighed and kept drinking.

Ialo looked from his drink to Luna. She met his brothers? Oh, that must have went well, he thought sarcastically. They probably tried to get her number. And an angel? What would an angel being doing on Earth? He blinked as Luna stared at him. All the guys at school wanted to get in her pants, he recalled. Well, most of them, at least. Ialo just wanted to make her see that she was better than she thought she was. He slowly looked back down at his drink, half-lost in thought. "Black coffee," he finally responded. His grip tightened slightly on the cup, which had not lost any steam at all thanks to his fire.

She sighed. "Even your drink is depressing."

There was the tiniest twitch in Ialo's eye as his head shot up. The coffee in the cup reached its boiling point as Ialo scoffed. "Oh, really. If I'm so depressing, why don't I just go all out and dye my hair black and wear a spiked collar?"

Her eyes drifted towards the coffee and she giggled softly. It was amusing rather than frightening, his temper. At least nowadays. She remembered how scared she'd get if his voice raised or if his posture gave even the smallest notion of trouble. Geez, what happened to her? She smiled and tilted her head, drinking her Java Chip from the cup rather than the straw. She raised her head with a small line of whipped cream along her upper lip. "I wouldn't recommend the hair color change. It would provide a nice contrast with your collar and dark clothing. Your hazel eyes would stand out more if you wore heavy eyeliner, too." She laughed at the image of a gothic Ialo.

"Oh really~" Ialo repeated, but this time he sounded more playful than irate. He pushed his drink to the side and leaned forward, his elbows on the table and his chin resting on his hands. "You think I could pull the dark look off? Or would you rather I cheer up and wear a pink shirt and get a boyfriend?" The last word had heavy emphasis on it, and Ialo flicked his wrist just like a preteen girl.
((Ialo's reputation may not recover from these posts.))

She leaned forward as well, her smile never fading. "And here I thought you already had one." She took another sip of her Java Chip, the whipped cream mustache refusing to wipe away. Luna was, of course, totally oblivious to this fact. She was much too preoccupied with this new attitude of Ialo's.

Ialo was shocked. Luna had slammed him. He stared at Luna, his mouth slightly agape. She was kidding, right? Without thinking, or even feeling himself move, he leaned over further and wiped away Luna's whipped cream mustache - and not with a napkin.
He kissed her.

((Ok...God, you people post a lot...))
As dawn had come, Cook and Danni were already in the kitchens, the scent of frying bacon and sausage filling the room as Cook eyed them and Danni made up a huge pan of scrambled eggs that would be consumed in minutes. She was just mixing up more eggs when there was the sound of a door slamming, and moments later, she came face to face with an outraged Ambrose.
Her older brother was holding a piece of paper and a ripped envelope, and a vein was pulsing in his forehead. "What did you do?!" He demanded, shouting. Danni forced herself to stay calm, and fell back on the I-didn't-do-anything look that she'd mastered over the years. "Well, I was just mixing up some eggs, that's what. Want any?" She asked mildly, and didn't even blink when Ambrose's fist slammed down on the countertop.
"You got them to disown you?! You had the old man sign you out of their lives?! What the hell were you thinking?! I know you didn't exactly get along, but-" Danni cut him off with a look, and she said coldly. "Didn't exactly get along? We hated each other! What's it matter to you, anyway? It increases your inheritance anyway." She said, and he made a low, dangerous sound in his throat.
"You cut off all ties with the Rinaldi's, dammit. Didn't you think you might ask me about it first? I'm your older brother, dammit! Can you really just cast us off with a fancy piece of paper?" He demanded, and the look she gave him would've made a lesser man run. "Face it, Ambrose. You're the only one who cares about this. Lia's probably already celebrating with Mother, the old man's probably informing the rest of the family that he's finally rid himself of the person who's been staining the family name, and me...Well, I couldn't be happier." She lied cheerfully, falshing a smile that made Ambrose furrow his brow in a frown and sigh.
"Oh, baby...I'll talk to you again when you're thinking straight. You're obviously...confused, disoriented. I love you. Don't forget that." Then he was gone, walking through the doors again, and Danni was left looking after him. "Cook, do I sound disoriented to you?" She asked eventually, and he spoke calmly and casually as he dried cups. "I think you know exactly what you're doing. You're big brother's the one not thinking clearly, or he'd understand. You'll be late for class, you don't hurry." He added, and she noddded, stuffing a sausage link into her mouth after giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, and then she was racing off.
Her first class of the day was power control and management. She didn't know why Ambrose had signed her up for the stupid class, since she could control her powers just fine, except when she got angry. And even then, she never lost it completely. But still, she was already scheduled to take it, and it would require too much effort on her part to get her classes changed. Besides, it couldn't be that bad...
Half an hour and twelve pulverized stress balls later, she was cursing under her breath, coming up with numerous ways to painfully murder her professor. Oh, the class had seemed all right at first. Uber-hot teacher with the looks of Hollywood's version of a cop, tall, dark and handsome. Decent classmates who didn't look at her in disgust, many of them dark magic users themselves.
But the first words out of the dark haired, friendly eyed teacher had been, "Today, we're going to find what sets you off, makes you lose control of your powers in the first place. I'll need a guniea pig to start out with so I can show everyone how it works. How about...you. Danni, right? Let's have you come up here." And it had all gone downhill from there.
The professor had quickly learned that anger was what set her off, and that insults and degrading comments got to her the quickest. So he'd started taking shots at her, daring her to walk away, but calling her a chicken when she started to do just that. "Look at that blue hair. What, you trying to stand out, get attention from some handsome fella? Well, let me tell you, it's not going to work, Miss Tomboy. Look at those ripped jeans, that ratty cloak. Boys like cute, girly girls who faint at the sight of blood, not tough midgets trying to act tougher than they really are." He egged her on, and Danni found it far more difficult than she'd thought to control the surge of power attempting to come out of her. No way was some jackass teacher going to make her lose control, no way.
But the teacher, Professor Pete Jackson, caught the dangerous glint in her eyes, and knew he was getting close. He'd picked this girl for a reason, after all. He'd heard talk that she was easily provoked, and knew vaguely of the amount of power she was rumored to possess. He needed her to let out that hate in the form of dark energy, let the rest of these students know how dangerous uncontrolled power could be when unleashed. Just a bit more should do it, he thought, seeing the way her hands were clenched so tight that her knuckles were turning white.
"So, what exactly are you trying to prove, Miss Tomboy, fighting all the time? That you're strong enough to hurt anybody who insults you? Yeah, right. Compared to some people here, you're nothing more than an annoying little bug that has to be swatted off the toe of their boot." That, right there, got her, and she took a step toward him. As her foot slammed into the floor, she bared her teeth, and a burst of pure black energy shot out of her, filling the room and would've forced the students to their knees if they hadn't been sitting. As it was, Professor Jackson was surprised into taking a staggered step back, but quickly sent up a white magic barrier, closing it in around the black energy and forcing it back into Danni.
"Ok, ok, calm down. Breathe in and out, slowly now. It was just an experiment, none of it was meant to be taken as an actual insult. Just...relax now, Danni. Harness that energy, bring it back into yourself...That's it...There, now...I'm going to remove the shield now, and you're going to be calm and in control again, all right?" He asked, and Danni clenched her jaw but nodded, her fists still clenched. The others were staring now, fascinated at the power they'd just felt in the air. Now, the professor had his answer to some of his own personal questions. A lot of untapped power was still in there, he thought, and with his help she'd be able to release it safely, without hurting herself or others. In time, though. All in good time.
As Jackson brought down the shield, Danni stalked over to her seat in the front left corner of the room, and slumped down in her chair, scowling and crossing her feet at the ankles. "Next time you 'experiment' on me like that without warning me first, I'll break your damn nose and turn you into a frog." She muttered, and Jackson cleared his throat. "Yes, well, as you can see class, uncontrolled power, when provoked, can be quite dangerous, but when harnessed can be turned into a great and powerful asset." He went on and on with his speech, while Danni seethed, clenching and unclenching her fists. This class, she thought, was not going to be fun whatsoever.

Her eyes widened. What was he DOING? She hadn't been kissed in several months. She completely forgot how to move her lips, her tongue, her hands! What was she supposed to do? Ialo was kissing her, what the hell? Even the thought sounded absurd. She couldn't shake off the feeling that he was such a prude back in the day, so this new.. new.. "Hmm.." She closed her eyes and just pursed her lips with his, let him fall into control. She wasn't used to it.. but it felt nice. She set her drink down and left her hands resting on the table. He tasted of coffee and for some reason, fire. She was able to taste the smoky insides that she used to use to warm herself. He seemed like such a cool-headed creature.. a cold-blooded being.. but he had a flame within him that finally started blazing with her. She, though, was the opposite. Behind her warm smile and her bloody eyes, she was able to control ice-like objects. At least, now she was. She was able to create ice force fields and she had icy breath that could freeze someone to death. Amazing how her powers developed even in the dormant state they were in. At least within the time she was left alone in the cave, she found these powers within her. At least they weren't a secret from her anymore. She collided his fiery taste with the frost of her own, sending tingles across her lips and, eventually, everywhere else.
