I just got a package in the mail a couple weeks ago that I never expected to see...
After my first huge art contest..back in what, January 04? I agreed to purchase the winning piece and commission a second one. I sent a money order and after a bit, she sent me a sketch to approve. Then I didn't hear from her for months. I sent her a few messages, and always there was some excuse and lots of promises. Eventually--after about a year--I insisted on a refund. She agreed and (suposedly) sent it. I never recieved it. More emails ensued...each progressivly nastier. She said I gave her the wrong address and that it had been returned. She promised to send it back out asap. More months passed. Several months back I tried again, demanding she at least refund my money. More excuses and promises to resend. Then suddenly 2 weeks ago, I find a package at my door when I get home from work. I was shocked to see her name on it. Inside was the original contest winning piece, a high quality print of another digital piece she had entered in the contest, and ALL of my money back--including the portion that was to pay for the original contest piece, and a very appolagetic handwritten letter. I about s**t my pants! It only took 2 years and 5 months, but finally I got my money back, and the art to boot!

it's a hassle, but you probably taught her alot about how to communicate with others when it comes to art. artists tend to be very "inner world" when they get going (unless you are andy warhol!) and may not be on the same wavelength as a "customer" wink

I have about 15 orders at various places around gaia no one ever completed x.x
The sad thing is.. that it is so long ago.. and I really can't remember if I already PMed them 10 times or not at all.
