"Hmm...we really should take a break, but I'm bored..." Cat whimpered to herself, wondering what they should do. The pokemon were content playing with the Leftovers, but she was bored out of her mind. "Can't keep travelling, and there's no one around to battle...there aren't even some wild pokemon to watch, let alone battle." "Torchic." "No, I'm not going to play with you two. Besides, I'm sorta bigger than both of you combined, so I'd win."

((Gotcha!))
The path that Kasiya and Eevee had been following was fairly straight, with not many curves or hills. Kasiya decided on a whim to meander a bit off track, into the grassy fields for a change of pace. She had taken only a few steps when she heard a rustling in the grass about ten feet to her right, near a tree. She froze, her heart starting to pound. Had she found a Pokemon? She quietly crept in the direction of the rustling. It stopped almost as abruptly as it had began. She parted the grass with her hands, and gasped. Before her was a wild Spearow. It was pecking at the roots of the tree, scavenging for food. It hadn't appeared to have noticed her. She watched it for a few moments, pondering on whether or not she should try to capture it, when suddenly Eevee, who had snaked off in the other direction of the grass, jumped out in front of the Spearow, scaring both it and her trainer half to death. Angrily, the Spearow squaked and ruffled its feathers at Eevee, who tilted her head sideways and squealed. It was then that the Spearow rushed forwards and used a nasty Peck attack that corked Eevee right on the top of her head. Big wet tears formed in the corner of her eyes.
"Eevee! Don't cry, fight back!" Kasiya encouraged her Pokemon. Eevee blinked, staring at its foe, and its cute face twisted into a glare. "That's the way to do it," Kasiya cried, standing up so she could see better. "Use a Tackle attack!"
Eevee uttered a cry and threw itself into the Spearow. The tiny bird shook its feathers again, and went in for another Peck attack. "Tackle again, Eevee!" Kasiya shouted. "You can do it!" The small brown Pokemon ran full speed at the Spearow, throwing everything it could into its attack. The Spearow saw it coming and flew up a few feet, then came back down with another Peck. Eevee hit the dirt from the attack, looking like she was in pain, but she pulled herself up, and launched another Tackle. The third time did the trick, as the Spearow gave out a defeated cry, then flew away as fast as it could. Eevee sank to the ground, licking at a nasty cut on its shoulderblade.

"Mike, you needn't be nervous around me. I promise I'm not mean..." She cleared her throat. "I very much like your Charmander, Mike." Her glance averted to Misdreavus for a moment.
"My... err... father had a Misdreavus at one point, and he bred it... the Misdreavus that I have is the result of my father's most recent Misdreavus egg hatching."

"I am sure you are very nice, I'm just not too good around girls..." Mike shyly stated.
Just then his Charmander started making contorted faces, curious, Mike looked at his pokemon and asked "What's wrong buddy?" At that moment, Charmander sneezed, molten embers flying from his mouth in all directions.
"Aagghh! not again!" Mike lifted up his vest to cover his face as the embers splashed on his clothes, oddly not doing any damage to his vest.

"Charmander, I wish you'd warn me about those more often..."
Charmander looked at him as if to say "HOW?!"
"I'm so sorry about that everyone, ever since he got on the boat he seems to have caught something."

((bye willow!))
Kasiya carried her injured Eevee a ways before realizing the sun would soon be setting. She quickly scouted for a place to set up camp, and just got a fire going when the sun went down. She unrolled her sleeping bag (a yellow one with cute anime style Pikachu drawings all over it) and lied Eevee down gently. She took out one of her potions and began to prepare it, all the while soothing Eevee. "You were excellent against that Spearow," she said, unscrewing the top and removing the protective plastic covering. "It was your first battle, I'm very proud of you." Eevee uttered a quiet cry, and looked up at Kasiya, glad that she had made her trainer proud. "Now, this is going to sting, but it will help your wounds to heal." She sprayed the potion over Eevee's bruises and cuts, taking care to make sure the one on her shoulder was well covered. Eevee didn't wince once during the application of the potion, only watched with curiosity and what could be the early stages of trust.

((or not...went to get a drink, never came back ^^; sorry 'bout that.)) The night was uneventful, and both Pokemon and trainer were able to rest up fully. Kasiya had packed only a few days' worth of rations for the trip, so she would need to stock up again once she reached Viridian City. She was thankful she had read several books on edible plants and fruits for all three regions, and had a book with her just in case food ran out. In the morning, she fed Eevee, who's wounds were now almost a memory, and had a small breakfast herself, thankful for the high-energy foods her mother had packed for her before she boarded the train. She quickly rolled up her sleeping bag and secured it to the bottom of her pack, and, with the help of Eevee, smothered the few remaining embers from the fire with cool, damp earth to ensure no fires would erupt. When she was certain she hadn't forgotten anything, she nodded to Eevee. "Let's go!"
"Ouii!" she cried in return, and the two set off once more along Route 1.

"Oomph!" Cat awoke to two, small pokemon bouncing up and down on her stomach. After getting them off and sitting up, she noticed that she had fallen asleep in the exact same spot that she was resting in the day before. "Oddish, odd oddish!!" Oddish cried out joyfully. "Okay, okay, so we'll head off early. But aren't you two hungry?" she groaned as she stood up and stretched. "Torchic, tor-tor torch chick chick-torchic." Torchic said, smiling in her beaky way. "Eww. Worms?" The Torchic nodded. "Well, I'm hungry, then." After a quick breakfast mostly consisting of fruit and berries, the trio set off. Once again, her two pokemon were riding on her shoulders. "You know, the second you evolve, you're not riding up there anymore." "Tor..."

Since the battle with Spearow yesterday, Eevee''s outlook had changed by quite a bit. Her senses were constantly on alert for sounds of other Pokemon, for she didn't want to be caught off guard again. Kasiya''s mind kept drifting back to the three stones she had in her backpack. She knew that Eevee''s evolution had many possibilities, and she had immediate access to three of them at this very moment. The Water Stone, she pondered, would cause Eevee to become Vaporeon, an elegant water type. The Thunder Stone would yield Jolteon, a speedy electric type, and the Fire Stone would make Eevee evolve into the fiery Flareon. She had also read several articles stating that Eevee could also evolve if it had a strong bond with its trainer, but she wasn't sure if this was merely speculation. The one thing she was sure of was that she would try to evolve Eevee according to what she wanted - a Pokemon forced to evolve against its will would be likely to dislike the trainer because of it. She would avoid that at all costs.

*pops in* ninja
Nina laid on a bed inside of one of the rooms of Vermilion's Pokemon Center, with Misdreavus resting on her lap. Petting Misdreavus' head, she experienced a feeling that could be compared to that of touching a cloud. As Misdreavus was a Ghost Pokemon, she did not have a formal body structure-- no bones, no skin, no fur.
You know... we cannot wait for your friends forever, Nina.
Nina nodded. "I know... I realize this. However, they seem to have a clue as to where they are and where they're going-- we don't. Sabrina could be anywhere in this land, and it would most certainly help if we had guides to show us around."
Misdreavus tilted her head. They have a map. That is the main reason that their navigational abilities are as good as they are.
A shrug. "I know, but... they were nice to me..." Her voice grew slightly soft as she realized something. "Although... that may have been because they don't know of my psychokinesis..."
Misdreavus fluttered upwards and rubbed her head against Nina's cheek. You have that under control. You have nothing to fear in telling them.
Nina nodded again. "...I suppose you're right... And you're also right that we can't wait for them forever..."
