Rem didn't understand, he didn't know about blindness, knew nothing of it's existance. Eyes worked because...well because they did! To him things were simple and as far as he could tell there was nothing wrong with his elder sister.
His tail wagged automatically at the closeness of his brother Snitch, but his eyes remained ever on their other sibling.
At seeing her in such a vulnerable and frightened state something opened in his heart. He needed to protect her from the unseen ghosts.
With a small huff he got to his feet and padded over to the collection of puppies, moving to crouch down close to them. Pups okay? He questioned, wishing that they could reply.
He really had no idea what to do. Before now it had been him who had been cared for. Now he was having to care for others. Things were going to get difficult that was for sure. He moved his muzzle closer to Kaya and ran a tongue along the top of her head, that action had seemed to soothe them when Aeria had done it before.

Kaya whimpered underneath the pressure of Gizmo's tongue, but it soon soothed, and the noise which she had uproared previously, came to an immediate end. Although, every so often, a soothing whimper of some sort would slip.
What was this?
She blinked up and about, her silvery white eyes glimmering up toward Gizmo.

The small pups eyes widened as he saw the shadow of his father, he barked happily, nuzzling his fathers front leg and looking up to his face. He seemed so high up, and so respectable. His eyes however were still shining with concern as he looked towards Kaya. At least she seemed to be calmer now. Maybe his dad would have the answer, he thought parents would know everything, as they seemed so much older and wiser than young pups like himself.
Snitch, like his brother, thought that sight was just something that existed, he just took it for granted, and didnt know that sight was something that could be taken away...

(( Yes Kam-Kam must visit, hopefully there'll be a sub-forum soon for them so things will be more organised too. ))
He paused his attentions briefly to nudge at his two sons with his nose, giving each of them a fond lick in turn before letting his eyes trail upon his daughter. It was then that he noticed the strangeness that was her eyes, their void of life. He felt a tightness constrict his throat and he couldn't help but continue to stare helplessly.
She was...she was blind...
He turned to Aeria, wondering whether she was awake...but what could he say? Had they done something wrong?
He nuzzled his daughter gently and moved to curl himself protectively about her. If she could not see then let her other senses help aid her, let her smell the scent of her parents and brothers, let her hear his breathing, let her feel his fur on hers.
It okay Kaya, it okay. He whispered, turning once more to include Snitch and Rem, you need take care of sister...take care. He smiled, hoping they would understand.

Kaya's whimpering dimmished, she felt safe wrapped up amongst Gizmo. He was nice and warm! His fur was so warm! She pawed a little at his side, and sniffed at him gently. Who was he? He sure smelt nice.
She rose her snout into the air, and breathed in deeply, trying to work out her settings by the sense of smell. She smelt two different scents about her... And another distant one in the far corner.
Glancing around bravely, she shook her head gently, before nuzzling back into Gizmo, her small tail flopping about him.

Snitch blinked, his amber and teal eyes slowly moving from where Kaya was, to his father and Kaya. He sensed that something was wrong, and as he heard his fathers words, he couldnt help but feel a surge of brotherly love towards Kaya. He would follow Gizmos request, and take care of her as much as he could.
Shuffling closer, he nuzzled his sister, gently, hoping she would not reject his loving actions, or perhaps become scared again, as she didnt know where exactly he was. He let out a small bark, which would be translated into. "We'll look after you, Kaya..."

He let out a deep sigh, resting his head on his forepaws and letting a small smile curve his maw. What would it be like for a wolf who couldn't see? His poor beautiful daughter. He sniffed and rubbed his nose against her soft fur once more, wishing that somehow her eyes could be healed. Was it possible?
Another sigh passed between his lips as Snitch gave a bark in understanding. That pup would be a smart one.
Eyes then followed to Rem who was approaching him cautiously, legs unsteady as he moved over. Hello. Gizmo gave a small whuff and nudged his son with his snout, smiling as he rolled about on his side and gave a squeak of surprise.
He turned his head back to gaze at his sleeping mate, eyes settling upon the little white pup who had stayed asleep. Young Reza. Even at this early stage their personalities were beginning to shine through.

Aeria's eyes snapped open at the sound of puppies... That's right, there were puppies now! She lifted her head to peer down at their tiny family, which was huddled close to Gizmo with the exception of Reza, who stirred in his sleep against Aeria's side. It seemed they were growing up very fast, already taking steps and opening up their little eyes to get their first looks at the world. She smiled and nudged Reza. Wake up sleepyhead.
Reza let out a tiny puppy growl before slowly opening one golden eye to take a look at... the biggest wolf in the entire world! He scooted back quickly from Aeria's giant face, the little hairs on his back bristling as he yipped at his mother.

His eyes sparked to life once more as Aeria stirred and after a moment of waiting for her to waken the white pup, Gizmo lifted Kaya by her scruff and moved over to lie beside his mate. He had to break the news to her, it was only right after all.
He shifted and placed their only daughter on his forepaws, brushing a tongue along the top of her head to comfort her.
Aeria...puppy Kaya... He blinked, stumbling over his words more so than usual, Kaya eyes no light...life...they no work right. He shook his head sadly and glanced up at her with almond shaped eyes. Kaya no see. He raised his head so she could take a look at her daughter for herself, praying that perhaps he had gotten it wrong. Maybe her eyes were just a strange colour...but how would that explain her behaviour?
No...she WAS blind...and they'd have to deal with the fact.
Play! He wanted to play!

Kaya continued in her desperate attempt to blink, but it soon turned hopeless, as much as the desperation flared, her determination was withering. Cocking her head about in all directions, her nose sniffed for scents. There was a few, but she couldn't pinpoint them exactly, all the sniffing had made her tired! And her nose just plain ached.
Yawning gently, she rested her head amongst Gizmo contently, adoring the attention gained. And especially she repeated licks he offered. Nuzzling into his side furtherly, she whined a bit, as she nestled down to enjoy her first sleep.
Her eyelids flickered close finally, and her silvery-white eyes glimmer soon dissapeared. Her head enveloped by the side of Gizmo, she snuggled in close, every so often twitching her head into a new position and snuggling in against him more.

After the initial shock of seeing another wolf, Rand finally tore his eyes from his mother's face, yips subsiding softly as he drank in the surroundings. Many moving things! Family, something said in his head, and he shook himself vigorously, big ears flapping slightly on the puppy head. Two big others! And ones like him... golden eyes wide he peeked over a mother's foreleg at the two standing, however wobbly, on their feet. Brothers! He scrambled over the obstructing leg, slipping slightly as he came in closer. As Remiel attempted his pounce on Snitch, Rand blinked and cowered slightly against the warm reassuring bulk of his mother.

She stared at Gizmo for a moment as though she weren't hearing him correctly. Kaya's eyes didn't work? She can't see? She's blind? She looked at their daughter carefully, the milkiness of her eyes readily apparent. It couldn't be, she was so young, wolves couldn't be born like this... could they? Gizmo, how could this have happened?
She nuzzled Rand as he sought comfort from her, laying her head across his back protectively as she watched Kaya snuggle closer to Gizmo. She had never met a blind wolf before, or any other blind animal for that matter, and she hadn't the faintest clue how to take care of a blind puppy. Then again, until several days ago she'd had no clue how to take care of any puppy.

(( *will wait for Zo-Zo to post before replying with Remiel* *beats gaia* gah it's acting freaky today! gonk )) He nodded sadly in reply, not sure what else to say. His heart ached with grief but desperately clung to the hope that still remained. Perhaps her eyes were just slow and would start working within a few days? No...hopeless, it would only cause him more grief to think the situation would heal itself.
He gazed down at Kaya who seemed to be falling asleep and licked at her ears gently. Gizmo not understand. He blinked sadly and curled his tail about his hindquarters, We do nothing wrong.
He found a sudden desire to seek comfort and moved to press his face against his mate's neck, inhaling deeply. We be eyes for Kaya now, we keep puppy safe. His protective side was already screaming to never leave her side - though he knew that was impossible. He tilted his head a little to catch another glance at their daughter and gave a soft sigh, she be 'kay.

The marble-pelted pup cocked his head, his mismatched eyes glimmering sweetly. A low bark erupted from his throat as he pounced his brother, chewing on his ear gently before rolling to paw at his side. At least someone would play with him! Barking again, Snitchs stubby tail wagged happily.
