Bayne Tarrok It is ironic that the first person to see the shadows coming at them was blind. At least, in the usual fashion. That swirling, foggy, starry realm of existence that Sesar had inexplicably been granted vision in began to churn behind them, and as it did, he turned his head over his shoulder, 8 ball still in hand. Sheets of some opaque material were cascading towards them. This did not stop his running. Quite the contrary, Sesar ran all the faster. Desi was the second to see it, and the first to speak. She did so in the form of a scream, which caused Jeremy to turn his head. What...?He couldn't get his head around what was happening behind him, but he knew that it was bad, and that they were almost around the corner. If they could just reach it... Jeremy swung his arms around Desi under her arms, and lunged forward in a head-first dive around the side of the building. Sesar saw this (or sensed it. It depends on your perception of sight and sense.) and veered left, attempting to make the turn with his friends. However, he didn't make it around the corner. It became obvious that was not his intention, as he bent his knees, and steadied himself against the wall. He waited, and in his mind, made a silent prayer. He had not abandoned all of his family's traditions. He still had faith in the Lord. 8 ball in hand, he stood his ground, anticipating the moment that their assailant would be within reach. He was not about to give up. Not when they were so close to freedom. Around the corner, Jeremy cradled Desi in his arms, prepared to shelter her from anything that rounded on them. Luke flew faster after his prey. "Wait!" he yelled. "I just want to talk to you!" The shadows were gaining on their adversaries, and Luke pulled back slightly; he didn't want to trip them up too soon. "What are you doing here?" he called.

princess rikkuna "SHERIFF!!!" Kooh yelled looking at him on the ground and turning back to Keerah and Kevyn. "KEERAH, KEVYN LETS GET OUT OF HERE WE DON'T KNOW IF THESE PEOPLE ARE OUR FRIENDS OR ENEMIES!!" She yelled grabbing one of there arms. "C'mon lets get out of here." The twins jumped up! "We'll talk more later Kevyn," shouted Keerah, it didn't matter who heard now. "Right," agreed the boy, "the priority now is run!" "Come on you two," called Keerah to Kooh and Kevyn, "let's split!" Kevyn threw up a wall of ice between the three of them them and the rest of the action, acidentally trapping the police car in the middle of it. It was about 6 feet tall and thick enough that it would take some time to break through or melt.... which was an option since some stuff was still burning after the spontanious combustion of the bridge. Then the twins took off hoping that Kooh would follow.

Kooh looked up to see the twins running and took off after them. "Do we have any idea where we are running to?" She asked quickly catching up with them.

"No," admitted Keerah, "I was thinking we'd get away from the chaos first then figure out somewhere safe to go." "I was following her," said Kevyn. "Well then, any ideas?" asked Keerah. "Now is as good a time as any to decide where we go," said Kevyn, "I think we've gotten far enough away that no one can hear us and their going to have a heck of a time following us with that ice wall."

Allen grimaced as he wathed Reg keel over. Dammit. This was not going so well. He had to relocate all of these Users without any help. He picked himself up off the dirt, the grass and grime had practically ruined his business-esque appearance. In its stead was a man who had just gone postal in a supermarket. A smile flickered across his lips, removing that lemon-sour grimace. They were all leaving in a group. That could work to his advantage. He looked down at the zonked out newbie. He reached down, and, freeing the walkie talkie from Reg's beltloop, began to give out orders in codes. Screw the afternoon. This was going down right here and now.
The "roadcrew" responded accordingly. After an hour, four black vehicles that had once had SWAT painted on the sides rolled up, as practiced. The roadcrew pulled back the baricades and let them through, setting them back up as they drove off. The SWAT symbol had long been peeled away, the entire vehicle over-painted black, instead. Behind each wheel was a pale-faced man who had gotten the bad phone call while trying to catch some z's. Four more men rode in the back of each, still rubbing the sleep out of their eyes. A total count of twenty men and women, each riding with bags under their eyes and an increasing adrenaline rush.

"We have to find a place to hide.....but where?" She asked still running with them. "Maybe we can get out of town or hide in the forest." She thought aloud.

((I apologize for the delay. I'm in two Musicals, and one is in the rehearsal process while the other is currently in performance. So, things have been more than a little chaotic, you might say biggrin ))
The eight ball in Sesar's hand was suddenly not in his hand anymore. It was in the air above his hand. What was odd, though, was that the ball didn't "float" up. It just got there. The only explanation would have to be that this man's power was something beyond telekinesis. Yes, he moved things with his mind... or was that the true case? Perhaps the objects moved of their own accord, in conjunction with encouragement from Sesar. Regardless, anyone who was watching the unfolding scene didn't really have time to pick apart Sesar's power.
-- In fact, Jeremy was already rising to his feet, hoisting Desi up with him. There was a back door into the convenience store. He had seen it almost as soon as he had rounded the corner, and now that was his immediate destination.
However, something else caught his eye at nearly the exact same time. In the parking lot, a portion of the asphalt had been ripped up, and set to the side. Yellow tape had been pinned around the corners of the large hole, and beside that? a stack of PVC pipe, miscellaneous cans of sealant, an unplugged jackhammer... and two pieces of rebar.
They were doing maintenance on the store's plumbing, and had left their gear outside. This meant only one thing to Jeremy. He had a weapon. --
However, even as the eight ball remained suspended in Sesar's hand and the approaching man came easily within reached, Sesar didn't go through with his plan.
The man had said he wanted to talk. Some of Sesar said that was bullshit. More of him wanted to believe the man was telling the truth. They had been on the run for so long, they had almost forgotten what it meant to find a friendly face outside of their own.
"What do you want?" Sesar said sharply. The eight ball fell back into his palm, making it appear as though the man had just caught Sesar in the last half of the act of throwing and catching the object. He stood his ground, and stayed next to the corner. He could hear, and sense his two friends nearby. It seemed like Jeremy was on the move, and Desi remained huddled next to the wall.

((Hey, things are always crazy here. My little brother was veiwing inapropriate images on the computer so my dad passworded it... I need permission to get on sweatdrop .)) "That could work," said Keerah, "but we need to get moving fast." "I think I have an idea," said Kevyn, "there's a cave over this way that Keerah and I stayed in before we bought our apartment." "I don't remember that... but I do recongnize this place." "I always was the one with the better memory." "True. So, let's get moving. Kevyn, lead the way."

Luke called from a safe distance, in case his prey (for want of a better word) decided to abruptly attack.

Allen had opted to let sleeping dogs lay. He turned on the talkie's tracking device and set it in the sleeping man's hand. With luck, the Shed vehicles would find both Reg and the sheriff. A combo deal. Allen tittered at this. It was too small to be laughter, yet too big to be held in a grin. He combed back his already short salt'n'pepper hair and decided to track the kids from a safe distance. The youth were often more impressionable than the adults, thus allowing him a chance to... "chat," perhaps. He came out of the clearing, stepping over the sheriff, kicking the gun into the water, in the event that Shed didn't find him. To be honest, he wasn't sure if the man was a User or not, but it would be worth interrogating, to say the least. The asylum smile touched his lips once more as he tracked the kids, making his presence virtually invisible with the not even dawn-cracked sky.

((Real quick Xeraphem. Who are the "kids" you were reffering to in your last post?))
Sesar stood there, his concealed, pupiless eyes staring off through space. However, they could see the man clearly in front of them. Those strange sheet-like materials still slithered around him, and it made him more than uneasy. This man was a user, but he was on the road for another reason. He would be the type who wasn't running to freedom. He was fighting.
He could still sense Jeremy moving, and Desi hadn't moved an inch since he had set her down.
"What do you WANT?"
The man with the green rag tied across his eyes repeated himself. He felt stupid for doing so, but the man had not answered his question. He wasn't telling anyone s**t until he knew their reasons.
