it's when you give money to help the website stay running, they often give you things in return. i did that over at kingdom of loathing and got a rare item. (bug me about it the next time you're online and i'm not busy with something else. ;p)

Or you could plunk down around 5000 gold in the Exchange. But that doesn't really help Gaia too much... but since it's already paid for and the sellers would prefer the gold anyway, it's all good. *shrug*

Actually, I'm surprised last months donation items and this month's donation letter have been around 5000 gold. That's actually much cheaper than some recent donation items.
