Fool, I still have the speed spell active. Not to mention I was fast in the first place. Kin thought and grinned. Kin ran right toward the sage with his great speed and overcame the wind's force and kept coming. While that was happening the fire gave out and Vix neared the man just 2 feet below him, ready to bite.
Kin said to Vix.
Vix said, getting ready to bite down on the sage's leg and let his venom go freely inside him.

Sage John said.
Sage John said.
He stamped his staff down on the ground, "Incohare Ferrum." The ground around him for five feet in all directions turned to steel. He quickly raised his staff back up to defend against Kin with.
Gron began taking long loping hops towards his own partner and his partners assailant.

As he blocked Kin's attack, Kin held his fist firm and stayed where he was. "Vulgus" Kin said and Vix bursted out of the steel and from underground, Vix became a huge snake to about 20 feet high and 5 feet in diameter. With this, Kin and the sage were now on top of the Vix's head.
Vix said to Kin evily.

Sai exclaimed.
Stratus agreed.
Gron said.
"Kin," Sage John said. "I concede defeat. You are far to skilled and far to fast for this old man to keep up with, let alone defeat. Now, if you wouldn't mind having your snake bring us back down to the ground, I will reward you, and Sai also, with the Marks that you have so justly earned."

Kin's serious face, ready to kill, became confused. "Your giving up? But why?! We just started!" Kin shouted. "Ugh! Nevermind." Kin said.
Kin said, annoyed at what he was doing.
Vix replied.
Vix lowered them and then recalled back into the binding stone within Kin's gauntlet. Then Kin sat down where he was and crossed his arms like a pouting child who didn't get his way even though he had won and gotten what he came for, his first mark.
Kin said acting depressed.
Vix replied.

"A good job to both of you. If you will follow me into the building proper I will award you both with the mark of this School." Sage John said as he began to walk across the courtyard toward the door that he had originally emerged from. He gestured for both of them to follow him.
Sai said and began to walk after the Sage.
He led the way through the archway and and down a short hallway to a small smithy. He removed a brand from one of the walls and placed it into the fire that was already burning in a small fireplace.
"If you would both provide a surface for me to brand, then you will each have your very first mark."
Sai thought as he produced a leather scroll from his pack. He spread it open and held it out for the Sage.
Sage John withdrew the brand from the fire, it was now red-hot and glowing faintly. He pressed it firmly against the leather surface of Sai's scroll for a moment and then withdrew it. Where he had pressed it there was now a dark brown-black mark in the appearance and identical to the one burned into the plaque at the entrance to the courtyard.
"Now, Kin, if you would provide me with a surface to brand." Sage John said.

Tired of waiting, Minatsuki left the stone, and headed towards the school. She was filled up enough for a battle, and she was getting impatient with the girls. If there weren't so much wood around, Minatsuki might have flew on Aasko's back.
Walking past the archway, Minatsuki looked around for the sage, but could not see one. She raised her eyebrow, and looked aroun, trying to find the sage of the school.
"Anyone home?"
Tapping the toes of her boots on the ground, the heavy boot made a small depression on the ground where she stood. Minatsuki slammed down her foot, raising dust from the ground, and scratched her head. She hated fidgetting, but she could not help herself when she was right in front of the school with no sage.

Sakura sighed. "Alright, I'm here. Let's go, I wanna get my marks," she sighed to Attica and Faia.
Keichi thought settling himself down.

Faia smiled at Attica and Sakura before walking into the village. Sky trotted next Faia, head arched majestically. Her sapphire eyes looked around warily, her ears tipped forward. The spiral of her horn barely stuck out from the mess of gray forelock. She looked more like a horse now, with her slick body. Faia spotted Minatsuki and ran ahead.
"Hey! Seen anyone yet?"
Sky trotted to catch up to Faia. Her nostrils flared, her ears alert. Faia turned to Sky for a second, a curious look in her blue eyes.

Minatsuki looked back at hearing a familiar voice, and smiled.
"No, I just got here actually. I was waiting for you guys..."
Her voice trailed off along with the smile, but it soon returned. She looked around, and spotted the main building.
"Maybe there's someone there. Come on."
Without giving chance for Faia to reply, Minatsuki pulled her along towards the main building, knocking on the door.
"Excuse me, anyone home?"
Asako reminded Minatsuki, no sarcasm in her voice.

Kin watched as Sai was rewarded his honorable mark. After him, Kin dug into a inside pocket within his clothing and pulled out a low quality dirty scroll and unraveled it a little bit, having dust fly off of it and held it out for the sage to brand.

Stratus was slightly amazed by the fact that the girls had not noticed him sitting there in the courtyard on his haunches. He had been watching them from the moment they had entered and he had been making no effort whatsoever to conceal himself. Strange...
Sai turned to Sage John.
"Sage, Stratus says that there are some women here to challenge you"
"Thank you, Sai, for informing me. And thank you, Stratus." Sage John said.
The Sage replaced the brand into the fire momentarily and then removed it once more. He pressed it against Kins scroll for a moment and then removed it and placed it back on the rack on the wall. There was now a clear mark burned into Kins scroll. Both of his challengers had bested him, and now both had been given their rightful reward.
"I trust you can both find your own way out, apparently I am not quite finished being challenged for today. Likewise, you are both welcome to stay and observe." Sage John said, and then exited the room, preparing himself for a whole other set of challenges.

Sakura darted along behind Faia and Mina stopping when they did. "Is this your guys' first challenge?" she asked them interested.
Sakura asked her wolf friend as she scratched behind his ears.
he replied ears bending low. That was their only problem when it came to being a team. Keichi always worried more about her then the battle. Her trainer sage pointed this out several times.

"No, it's not. I have couple of marks."
Minatsuki smiled, answering Sakura ambiguously, not intending to reveal her true strength until the tournament. Seeing the sage walk out of the building, Minatsuki hurried to him.
"Are you the sage of this school?"
Minatsuki asked, looking directly at him with a grin. She turned to the courtyard, summoning Asako back, and turned back to the sage.
"I would like to challange the Sage of this School to an intruder combat."
Minatsuki's friendly eyes were blazing with eagerness.

((If somebody else would like to control Sage John this time, go ahead. I'm burnt out on battle for the moment. Remember that his frog creature, Gron, was not injured in the last battle at all so he could be used again. Also please don't come up with a new creature for him for each challenger. We don't want to make the first Sage we come across seem too powerful. I'll say that he has one more creature other than Quin and Gron, whoever decides to control him next can decide what it is and what its name is if they want.))
