Ugh, that golem was being quite the nuisance. Casting all these nonsense spells in high hopes of killing her. Which, if Vixen wasn't careful, she might just find herself bordering death's brink. Oh, well, it was nothing terribly new. However, she had to be about her wits. Her heart was racing. She had one of those? Yeah, she did. It was telling her to run like hell. Her brain was telling her to fight though. Fight until there was nothing left of her. Everyone was gone; she only had herself. Combat that thing until one was dead. It was her mentality. Golems could be so very slow though. She didn't want to die. Not just yet. She still had unfinished business.
Getting her legs pumping, she avidly took off back the way she had come. The blade was still dripping off the blood, fresh and smooth. Briefly her mind wondered whether or not golems bled. Oh, wait, focus. The dark was so great for such an escape. There was no light to cast off her judgement and no other person to slow her down. Most would be clumsy in such settings, but Vixen was perfectly at ease. This is what she was made for. She could distinctly hear the large being's footsteps as it searched for her. She could make it though. She knew it.
Abruptly she came to the fork in which her and Skip had first split up. Why had she wanted to split up again? Vixen knew that she didn't exactly enjoy company, but she didn't particularly mind it either. After all, they were a sort of team right? Right. She would never own up to it publicy, though. She tore down the path she knew her two team mates had previoiusly taken. At the end was some kind of portal. The thumps rang through her ears. She jumped and hoped to make it.

[Next time, indicate your action. But God, it's good to have you back.]
Vixen attempts to flee...
And succeeds!
Vixen suddenly found herself surrounded by familiar faces. Skip and Emerald. In front of a console. And a doorway.
It felt good to be back!

What was this? There was this sudden rush of something in Vixen. She almost dared to think it was happiness, but then realized it could just as easily be hunger. So short lived. She walked to where the pair stood. She nearly wished to slap Skip for leaving, but then remember it was her decision to split.
"Can anyone heal me?"
What was with the light, too? It was interrupting her lovely escapades about in the dark. Except the part about her fleeing. That made her whole body shudder in light of her cowardice. It would be too long before she would truly appreciate her wise decision. Oh, yeah, maybe she should greet them too. Hmm.
"What are you two standing around for?"
That was close enough.

Pulling out a fistful of Gysahl leaves, Skip hastily muttered,
"Just take these and drop it."
Got Gysahl leaves x10!
Meanwhile, Emerald just huffed and sighed, fixing her armor in a precarious manner...as if she was nervous that someone was watching her. After a long pause, she cleared her throat and suggested,
"Why don't you use the save console, Vixen? The we can...move on. Yep. Move on. Quickly. Without wandering eyes or hands. Moving forward."
Skip shuffled awkwardly.
Oh, no, he didn't try to...? Oh, no...

Conversation here was very tense. Well, Vixen could stand the silence, but if these two were going to awkward then she would have taken her chances with the golem. Awkward silence and conversations were the worst. They were jittery, confusing, and frustrating. She'd keep her mouth shut for a while. Vixen took the gyshal leaves and ate two for the time being. The rest she stowed away until at least after she checked out this disturbing light source.
Walking up the the annoying glare of bright light, she placed her hand in the assumed area and waited for whatever would happen. Ugh, these things were so disruptive. She'd learn to be grateful over time. Maybe.

Vixen uses Gysahl leaf x2...
And gains 100 HP!
Meanwhile, the odd little machine emits a strange, camera-like flash, taking her and her pupils by surprise. Within seconds, the process is complete, and the onlooking Emerald & Co. heave a sigh of relief. As dysfuntional as they may have been in real life, battle joined the group in perfect harmony. Perhaps a new challenge would be good for them all.
But, where were the "bad guys"? The current room sure as hell bore no random encounters, and the chamber ahead gave no indication of an epic battle or even a few small skirmishes.
Oh, what an awkward trip this would be...

Which was all the more reason to hurry along. Vixen looked between the two, took out two more gysahl leaves to devour, and began to walk slightly ahead. She would still have the ability to hear them well due to the resounding walls of the cavern, but at least it wasn't the full blast she would be hearing right amongst them. Vixen wondered slightly what would happen from this point. Hopefully more bloodshed. That seemed to be the only time none of them were getting themselves in trouble.

The round chamber ahead was far more ominous than it had seemed from the outside. For instance, huge, craggy stalagmites and stalactites peppered the place, obviously looking for some poor fool to run into their sharp edges or wander aimlessly under a loose spire or two. Within seconds, the color of the room also played a large part...it was red. Blood red. Now, while cliche, the fact still remained: it was pretty ******** beastly. All of the spires, most of the walls, and largely splashed portions of the floor were covered in the sticky red hume-paint.
Not to mention the smell. Harking back to simpler times, where gnashing-toothed guard dogs and angels had pleaded for their lives, this up cole and personal stench of death hit much closer to home than the rest of FATE had in its entirety. It reeked of fear, mostly. The foul, bitter smell attacked any chemical sense in her body...olfaction and gustation were equal prey here. And, though the carcasses of whatever had spilt their inside fluids were completely absent, small bits of their presence remained...be they pieces of intestine, stomach, or bloodied fur...
They still remained.
The most frightening thing of all, however, tirelessly guarding the door into the next floor...was the 10-foot tall, heaving, vicious, muscular -

[Which extra player would you like to control? I'll take one.]
...Preying mantis? Well...it was hrd to describe the best, for sure...but it definitely...was nothing either of them had seen before...
To be honest, its genius led itself to creative design. Whatever this creature could do, it could most likely do well. How did it look? Well...it was huge, that was for sure. It definitely towered over Risk, and he was a man of good stature. The beast also looked utterly fearsome, with a milky-white body, preying mantis-like body and enormous presence and drive. Everything seemed to be armored with a light exoskeleton, and its head bore a large green crystal that undoubtedly served some destructionary purpose. Not much could be made out about its head, which most likely sported a huge set of crushing teeth.
It looked much more real than any of the other baddies in the caverns, not to mention slippery skin...lubricated with what HAD to be real blood. It was from this point on that questioning the "virtual" reality of this place began to seem like a really good idea. That beast could absolutely crush ANYTHING it its path...caution was most likely avised. Heh.
Yep. Did I mention arms completely made up of full-force shredding power? Yeah. That too. It's kind of covered in the whole..."mantis" thing. And something else. Above the crown of its head was a small holographic image, the only thing taking this horrifying creature into the fantasy realm, where it belonged. The bright red mesage bluntly read...
No. 1 Lonarian Weapon. Fight to the DEATH.
A weakpoint, however. Its joints seemed to be a little weak...as if the thing was "built" in sections. Hm. Odd.
It would be tough, but with their powers in a good rhythm and flow, the ragtag group could certainly hold their own against the beast...

[I can try to roleplay as Emerald also, but I don't know how well I would do. I'll be asking many, many questions.]
Oh. Well, this was quite the surprise. This beast was very much out of the ordinary. Ordinary so far being petty little creatures and other miscellaneous things. Vixen eyed carefully its coat of thick blood. Not bad. Perhaps a spark of jealousy even rang throughout her body. Suddenly her only desire was to kill this monstrous thing. Not because it was doing anything at all, beside guarding the trios only way out. That fact did nothing for her. What really pushed her was the want, the need to be better than whatever that thing was. Yes, it was very plausible that the gargantuan bug-like creature could crush her in half, therefore crushing not only her body, but her confidence in being the best, but she seriously had no rational mind to think with at the current moment.
'I want to kill it. How I wish to slather my body in its own thick blood. My sword could slice through it easily enough, maybe, but I really just want to use my own bare hands. Nothing beats feeling the textured skin, fur, scale, or exoskeleton of any dying creature beneath cold hands. This creature's skin is smooth and what little light catches it causes it to gleam magnificently. Probably not good for tearing, but clawing instead. All that outer layer carefully curling underneath my nails and dirtying them for the world's display. I need to kill it.'
Her thoughts ended abruptly to quickly gaze at the other two. She wondered shortly about how they felt. Were they nervous, or excited? Well, Vixen didn't care too much, as long as there was a bloodbath. She only knew that this would be delightful.

[Too much happens at once. Bleh.] Emerald pondered silently for a moment or two. Which would be the best way to approach this? So far she hardly knew anything about this beast. Perhaps she should wait until Skip came back with his analysis. That would prove of great use. How much time did they have before it made its move? She could always make time.

[OKAY. If we can all set up a time to play...? How about tonight? That'll be easy. If Skip is on I'll play as Emerald. Unless you want me to play both, which I can.
As for Skip, you don't have to roll. I'll talk to you about this new skill tonight. (That's the beauty of letting me control you for a turn.) And yeah, you can come out of it any turn you wish.]
Emerald accelerates Emerald...
New turn order!
