Castle and Tanya took the first shift. Not much happened. The large one went out for a while, but there was no sign of the little one during that time. Tanya concluded that while the adult was away, the child must know to stay well inside the cave.

When the adult returned, it went deep into the cave and did not emerge again during their shift. Tanya thought she caught a glimpse of the little one peeking out from behind a rock, but neither could be sure.

As it began to get too dark for the two of them to see, Ganren and Sekenre came to take over their shift. Tanya reported what they had seen to them, and returned and made the same report to the rest of the group.

The second shift saw nothing at all.

When Whisper and Krillo took over. "I have a feeling these creatures are not nocturnal," she commented, not directly to Krillo, but not so he wouldn't hear.

Nothing happened during their shift either, and as the light began to return, Tanya and Castle took another shift.

((If you want to RP how your characters act during the shifts, please do so. But it's not required... But don't get ahead yet... I still have more to add to the shifts.))

"Yes. I do. You don't have to worry about me being seen nor do you have to worry about me seeing anything; These eyes can see more than most. Something I assume that one of the Light would understand and be equipped with as well. Am I mistaken?

During Castle and Tanya's second shift, the creatures began to move again. First the larger one left the cave, then came back, and the smaller one went outside to play a while. It walked out a lot farther from the cave this time, but it did not come close enough to their hiding spot that the observers would be noticed.

Another shift for Ganren and Sekenre revealed that the larger creature did not forage for "lunch" at around midday. It seemed two outings were enough.

As the day wore on, Whisper and Krillo took another shift. "This is the longest we've ever taken." Once again, it was as though she were talking aloud to herself.

During this entire time, Catherine and Damion stayed out of the actual observation, but listened carefully when each group reported back what they had seen. At least, Catherine did. Damion seemed out of it, though less depressed than before. Catherine had faith he would get over it soon, and decide to not let Ariel's sacrifice go in vain.

But she tried to encourage the group as much as possible, but it was tiring her somewhat. She spent her spare time attempting to fashion a bow. This was the first time she'd really had the time to do such a thing. She was close to finishing when Whisper and Krillo rushed back to the clearing. "It's headed this way," Whisper said with urgency. "The larger one."

It hadn't seen them, but it had obviously decided to forage in this direction today.

Tanya took control again. "You, you, you and you," she pointed to Sekenre, Whisper, Ganren, and Castle. "You'll stay here and make sure it doesn't get back to the cave. The rest, follow me. We'll circle around and capture the little one. Damion!" The last was firm and she looked him in the eye. It shook the man a little. "Grab the net. Everyone must help." Her words were slow and forceful. From a 15 year old girl, it was somewhat startling.

Damion obeyed and Catherine grabbed a spear and handed one to Krillo.

Krillo, Catherine and Damion followed Tanya, who started out in a wide circle to avoid the creature Whisper walked a little ways with them and then doubled back when she had determined they would manage to miss it entirely.

When she returned, she looked at the group. "One must take charge. Time is short."

"Granted the axes, I truly think we need to keep this as ranged as possible,"Sekenre repied. "So yes, we use the spears...it would have been better if Krillo stayed and I left since he has his root spell, but I'm sure we can come up with something."
Sekenre looks around at the others.

"Okay, its obvious we don't have much time so i'm just going to start. Whisper, you are the most agile, get that things attention and kite it...keep it chacing you. No matter what keep running and keep its focus on you. Ganren if you have any ability to slow it down that would be great; if not just wail on it and make it hurt. I say we either imobilize it or kill it. Oh Ganren if we get to a point where we have to take it out head on, thats when you grab its attention. Given you status and abilities I think you would be best suited for that. If you are wondering what Castle and I will be doing, we're going to be doing our damnedest to slow or bring it down. I'll also be keeping an eye on whisper. We have to work together and watch eachother's backs while we do this."

"Ready?"

Castle eyed both men giving him what seemed like seperate orders. "I'm fine with following what you say, but who the hell am I suppose to go with?" He picked up the spear and turned to Garen. " Furthermore if that plan dosn't work, won't we be trambled? I think our job was suppose to direct it away from the nest, not kill it, and I do not plan on facing that thing head on unless it's absolutly neccesary. No offense, but I like what Sekenre has planned for it. Range seems to be the way to go." He then turned to Sekenre. "So how do you suggest to we slow it down? I have no problem sneaking up on it, but I doubt these twigs will be enough for us giving the size of that thing. And as far as throwing one, I don't have much skill with spears as I do with knives. In any case Garens idea of flanking it is somthing I can do with any weapon."

"Alright folks we're out of time. Its on our heels." Sekenre looks at Whisper. "Go."
Sekenre sticks his spear into the ground, Claps his hands together and separates them. In the space between his hands is a small ball of shadow forms and slowly grows. All the while, Sekenre's features grow darker. "Something is...wrong...It shouldn't...be....this hard..." With his right hand he grabs the ball and his hand begins to pulse with shadow energy. "Shadow Bolt Ready!" he says with a grin.

Whisper nodded throughout the conversation. She was relieved to have a commander in Sekenre and Ganren. They made a good team so far, though oppositely aligned.

When she finally received the order to act, she made no hesitation and bolted toward the thing, brining a spear with her, more as a tool to get it's attention than a weapon with which to protect herself.

When she emerged from the brush into the clearing, the thing was close, and it saw her immediately. So much for needing the spear. She turned around immediately and headed back the way she came, making sure it followed.

It did, and it was fast for such a large imbalanced creature. It made little sense, but this was Morphea's game.

Meanwhile, the second group was nearing the cave.

Tanya pressed herself against the edge, and peaked around. When she had decided it was safe for the moment, she motioned for the others to follow.

Tanya nodded. "Yes, but be careful. There might be more than one in here. We have no way of knowing."

Catherine and Damion were not far behind.

Tanya nodded once more to the three of them, and dashed inside, spear ready.
