I got into classic rock because a friend of mine was a Led Zeppelin fan. But I'm more a fan of Queen, Foreigner, and everyone's favorite, The Beatles.

Don't get me wrong I like some Beatles stuff but quite frankly I never saw what the big deal was.

It was main stream and they had good songs. They were foreign and cool. That was their appeal during the 60's and 70's. blaugh (The Beatles that is.)

Yeah, what Kita said. 3nodding Their status as "foreigners" earned them a lot of attention, and their gathered attention mixed with great 60's-70's music gave them a great rep.

Ah but The Who was also foriegn and they never had the sucess of the Beatles, and again I like some of the Beatles but I really never thought they were such a big deal.

There was a lot of marketing going on for the Beatles, versus what was done for the Who. The Beatles just had a better strategy, I'm sure. blaugh

Wow, I never really listened to these bands. The earliest rock I can consciously remember loving would be Linkin Park's first album.

Forget the Beatles, they're over rated. I'd recommend some Jimi Hendrix, Boston, The Rolling Stones, Cream, The cars, THEN The Beatles

scooterkid34 Don't forget Queen. 3nodding oh yes definitely listen to Queen instead of the Beatles. In my opinion Queen is far more inspirational and far better than the Beatles.
