Not paying much attention to the other people gathering, Shamira sighed - there was something fishy about this, even now, and there seemed to be a constant flicker in the corner of her eye. Finally having enough of it, Shamira turned towards the flicker; and blinked, once. The infants were flickering? Unable to catch more than a few main colours, Shamira tiredly rubbed her eyes before rolling them heavenwards - this was weird.
"Thank you for the offer of sleeping arrangements, we're both grateful. But would you.." stopping to think over her question, she soon continued, " Would you mind telling us why those two are.. flickering?" There seemed to be a certain disdain in Shamira's voice, her mind set on the fact that People Shouldn't Flicker, Period.

Silver looked up from the fire at the two women, a puzzled look on her face. "Flickering? You must be very tired. One of you can stay with me, if you'd like. I'm afraid I just don't have room for both of you. I only have one bed, and it's yours if you'll have it."

The woman's question caused Em to flare up in concern, and take a good look at Pierre to make sure that he was alright. She almost imagined him sparking- and it wouldn't have surprised her if he had been- he had been acting so strangely. But her little one seemed, if not at ease, at least unharmed.
"It must be the fire," she said, after Silver had spoke to the woman, "you must be seeing sparks from the fire. We put special sand in them so they last longer- and it tends to make them flicker. And as for a bed, like Silver, I have room for one- a goosefeather mattress I can lay out in my wagon, if one of you would like to stay with me. ..And if you don't mind Pierre crying in the night." She smoothed down the spines of the hedgehog Fortunette and smiled at the newcomers.

Seeing Em look over Pierre, Silver examined Aisrhan, but nothing was wrong with her other than being extremely sleepy. Silver was about to ask which one of them would sleep where, when realization hit Silver like a brick. So THAT's what Val did while we were in Weathered Melody! No wonder the woman sees them flickering - Val put a glamour on them! That must be it! Her eyes widened for just split second, but she gained control of her reaction, she hoped before the other women noticed. She kept her mouth shut and waited for them to speak.

"Sure.. " too tired to protest, Shamira opted for staring at the two new women instead, "I grew up with younger siblings - I'll take my chances with Pierre.." Lorelei needed a full night's sleep more than she did, anyway.

"B-but... Shamira... I don't want to be...." Lorelei bit her tongue, then closed her eyes, steeling herself even as she wavered a bit on her feet.
"... Alright, I-I'll stay with you, then..." she said softly, looking at Silver. Sure, being in a wagon with somebody other than Shamira scared her half-to-death, but she needed sleep. Badly.

"All right then. You... I'm sorry, what is your name?" Silver directed her question at the sleepy woman, but didn't wait for an answer. "Come with me and we'll get you some sleep. You look like you could use a comfortable bed. I'll be coming back out here, so Aisrhan and I won't bother you for a while. I'll roll out some blankets for us when I get back." She walked around the fire and held out her free hand to help the woman up.

Lorelei took it, yawning. "Lorelei..." she murmured, voice trembling a bit. Still so terribly nervous!
"I-I feel bad, kicking you out of your bed... if you'd like, I could sleep on the floor of the wagon..."

As Silver questioned the woman who would be her houseguest for the night, Em turned to the one who'd accepted her invitation.
"I'm Em, by the way. It's short for a number of things, but you can call me just Em- everyone does." She smiled, and nodded down at the infant in her lap. "And this is Pierre. If you come with me, we can get you situated for the night. If you're tired now, that is." She rose, and indicated the way to Daggerheld... then paused, turning back to the woman. "I'm sorry- your name was?"

Silver helped Lorelei up and smiled. "No, don't be silly. I don't mind sleeping in the floor. You haven't had a good night's rest for a while, it seems. I can take the floor for a night or two. No worries." Silver led the way back to Weathered Melody and unlocked the door. "Wait here for a moment, please." She went inside and quickly put fresh blankets and an extra pillow on the bed, rolling her own stuff up into a corner. "Here you go." Silver motioned for her to come inside. "I have a bit of dried fruit in that cabinet there if you should decide you are hungry later. Aisrhan and I will return in a few hours." She moved Aisrhan's basket-bed out of it's usual place so it wouldn't get in Lorelei's way. "Try to get some sleep dear," Silver said as she walked back out of the wagon. She almost closed and locked the door behind her as she always did, but she didn't want Lorelei to be any more nervous than she already was. She didn't need the woman thinking she was a hostage too. Silver chuckled to herself at the thought and headed back to the fire, a sleepy Aisrhan resting in her arms.

Val smiled at how Shamira was able to half way see through the glamour. If she guessed, she knew she could see right through it but who would geuss that the infants were magical beings.
Maybe the spell didn't turn out bad after all. Val realised.
She may come to realise that she had spoken too soon.
These people are the only ones who see this:
Aisrhan A colorful snake flying in the air
Pierre A wolf comming our direction
Rojiza A fairy buzzing around her, trying to lead her away
Anezka A shadowy figure
Stefan The same wolf Pierre sees
Van Keppit as a zombie
Metexi a pond nearby
Kale The fire keeps getting larger
Dakota Fish flying throughout the air

Silver came back and sat next to the fire, distantly worrying about Lorelei going through her things, but shoved the thought aside. She was too tired and she seemed a bit more decent than that. Besides, there's nothing there I wouldn't mind sharing. Those other things are locked away... Aisrhan was finally starting to wake up again. All that fussing and crying had tired her out, so she had been dozing in Silver's arms since she left the fire to escort Lorelei to the wagon. Ais didn't need much sleep. She liked to be awake at night. Silver was sure she'd sleep all day tomorrow though. Aisrhan began to fidget in Silver's arms so she let the girl get comfortable. As usual, she coiled her tail around Silver's waist and hugged her neck. A moment later, Aisrhan's eyes grew wide with amazement. "Sssk. Ssssk!", she said, as her little hand reached toward the sky. Silver pulled her away from her, so she could try to see what she was pointing at. "What is it, hun?" She situated Aisrhan on her knee, but the girl wouldn't quit squirming. She kept pointing into the air, first right, then left, as though what she was looking at were hovering over their heads. Silver looked into the night sky, but couldn't see a thing. "Sssskay, ssssk." Aisrhan tried to talk again, but it mostly came out in hisses and other odd noises. Silver looked at Val, quite confused. "Do you see anything? Aisrhan obviously sees something up there."

Lorelei, still feeling very nervous, settled down in the bed offered to her, thoroughly checking under the blankets first for anything weird. Satisfied, she crawled under the covers, drawing them up to her chin...
And was fast asleep.

Walking to stand besides Em, Shamira did her best to smile gratefully, "My name is Shamira. Thank you for letting me sleep in your wagon.. it's an awful lot of trouble to be going through for a stranger."

Lesh had unknowingly fallen asleep when she returned to her wagon with Val's paintbrushes. She had sat down on her bed to comfort Anezka and must have dozed off. Anezka, however, was still wide awake and shivering slightly from nerves. She looked out the back window of Varekai and thought she saw something. Crawling closer to the window her eyes scanned the area. Suddenly a mysterious shape came into view, causing Ani to squeak slightly and crawl back into Lesh's arms.
