"Ice cream is really good," Briar agreed, grinning at Kechara. "I haven't read many books myself," he admitted with an embarrassed blush. He was usually out doing stuff, so rarely spent a lot of time sitting around reading a book. "Thunderstorms, huh?" He could remember the last thunderstorm. Sky Flier had been terrified, and Briar had spent the whole night with the pup to help calm him.

Kechara smiled, "Yes, I really like books. It was one of the few things I really enjoyed back at home..." She shook her head, refusing to dwell on the past.
"Oh! Yes, thunderstorms." She smiled again, "I really like them, so much power in them....and they seem so...free?" She flushed, "Ah...it's strange I know...but I really do like them." A nervouse laugh.
She tilted her head to the side, curious, "Is there something you like as well, Briar?" She asked softly.

"Did you have a favorite book?" Briar asked curiously.
"There's nothing strange about that," he assured her with a smile. He didn't much like thunderstorms himself, but he saw nothing wrong with someone liking them.
Briar paused to think over the question. Something he liked? There were so many things. But what did he like most above all the other things? "I like swimming," he said. "There's nothing like diving into a cool, refreshing lake and just floating around in the water."

Kechara nodded, "Uh-huh, The Fairy Godmother." She smiled sheepishly, "It wasn't like other fairy tales, it was really different." She laughed nervously, "But enough about it, I don't want to bore you."
She tilted her head to the side, "Are you sure?" She asked, the tail end of her statement becoming a giggle, "Because I know a lot of people don't like them."
Kecahra blinked, "I actually....haven't swam much." She commented, shrugging slightly, "Is it really fun?" She cocked her head, looking at him curiously.

"You're not boring me at all," Briar said, smiling at Kechara. "The Fairy Godmother? I don't believe I've heard of that. What's it about?"
He rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, everyone has different things that they like, so it shouldn't be that strange if you like something even if a lot of people don't like it." He knew he was rambling so decided to stop before he made himself sound stupid.
Briar nodded as he grinned. "Swimming is really fun," he told Kechara.

Kechara flushed, "It's really hard to talk about..." She mumbled, "I'm afraid I'm terrible at explanations." She chuckled softly, "I always end up explaining the entire book, so I spoil it for another who may want to read it."
She smiled at Briar, "You very understanding, Briar." She pointed out, "I really wonder how you managed to stay without a mate for so long." She blushed crimson, "Though I can't say I'm going to complain about it." She smiled sheepishly at him.
"It must be, if you like it." She answered squeezing his paw, "I like flying very much, myself, but it can be dangerous..."

Briar pondered for a moment. "Hm... Perhaps we could read the book together then," he suggested. "You wouldn't have to explain anything or spoil the book then, and we could both enjoy it together."
He shrugged and rubbed at the back of his neck again. "I guess... I never really looked for a mate so I never got one," he said. "Until now." He smiled at Kechara, glad that he had waited so long to find a mate.
"I can imagine," Briar said, remembering his experience with flight thanks to Bliss trying to fly him up the side of the candy mountain. It had been fun until he realized his weight really was too much for her to carry all that way. "Swimming has its dangers too."

Kechara blinked and turned a slight pink atthe thought of them sharing a book, "W-well..." She began, "I s-suppose we could, but I'm not sure you would like it. It is a fantasy novel a-and well....I'm jsut not sure you would like it." In truth, it was a bit of a "girl's read" not really something a male would enjoy.
Kechara blinked him then smiled slowly, "That would make sense, wouldn't it?" She replied softly, not sure what to think on the subject.
Kechara nodded once, "Yes, I remember..." She had once fallen into a river when she had been with another male numa, Theodore, it had not been a pleasant experience.

"If you like, it must be good," Briar said. "I'm sure I would enjoy it if it means spending time with you. I'd like to read something that you like." He nodded to the rest, not sure what else to say on those topics.

Kechara blinked and turned a darker crimson, "O-Oh...w-well if you really want to..." She blinked and ducked in time to avoid a branch and realized that they were close to water; she could hear the gurgling. "I think we're near..." She pointed out, glancing around.

"I do," Briar assured her with a grin and a nod. Even if the book wasn't something he liked, though he couldn't be sure without giving the book a read first, he would get to spend time with Kechara, and that's what really mattered to him. He looked ahead of them and could see the lake in the distance. "Close, indeed," he agreed.

Kechara nodded, unsure of what to say next. It appeared she had run out of things to ask or say and so she simply fidgeted, following in her mate's wake as they continued to toward the lake, her thoughts inevitably shifting back toward feathers and certain little pups with red fur and orange eyes...

Briar led the way to the lake. Their conversation fell silent, but he didn't notice until they were almost at the lake. He glanced over to Kechara, wondering what thoughts had driven her to silence. "What's on your mind?" he asked, disturbing the quiet as they reached the lake's edge to clean the stickiness from their paws.

Kechara blinked, startled out of her reverie. Realizing what he had asked--she turned a bright crimson, "Nothing! Nothing at all!" She smiled a bit lopsidedly, "It's really nothing, just a passing thought..." To avoid further conversation she treked over to the water and began meticulessly washing her paws, the blush on her cheeks determined to stay.

Briar blinked rapidly a few times before he followed Kechara to the lake. He dipped his paws into the cool water and began washing away the stickiness from his fur. "What kind of passing thought?" he asked, not meaning to pry in any way. He was just curious about what Kechara had on her mind.
