Sunstrike rolled his eyes. "Shove over then lemme take a look..." He turned over things within the stall then shook his head and moved onto the next. Then he grinned wryly at the armour statement. "I dunno, you look nice naked, s'far as I can tell in the dark...Seriously though, you'll need water, lots of it....and no armour, you've got those bloody boots, you'll fry if you wear all that gear..."

Sunstrike had to bend his mind around something that needed water every day....erm....gah, how long away was that sword again!? Three...no four should do it. He took off his poncho and threw the newly aquired water skin's over his neck. "Lemme know when you need it, cause I won't know when to give it..."

And with that, he moved onto the next.

The last comment threw him off guard for a moment, especially coupled with the slight opening statement, and the grizzled fighter was at a little loss for words... and instead found himself thinking things he shouldn't have... at least in the context a perverted person would think.

"Well... we're gonna need bedrolls too, or at least tents. I haven't gone camping in quite a while."

"Yes! I think we can get those over....there! Hah! Brilliant. Gets bloody cold here at night...you probably don't need a tent, no rain...and in sandstorms they just get lost anyway. But bedrolls will be perfect."

He was pretty oblivious to off guard moment he'd inadvertently caused within his friend and grinned happily to realize that he might be more of a help then he'd originally thought on this journey as he shifted through and paid for some very nice portable bedrolls and a few extra blankets.

Then he blinked at them and looked mournfully at Vahn. "Are we walking carrying all of this?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 24, 2005 9:21 pm

"Your walking around, carrying all that." He grinned, is back turned to hsi friend, as he began walking towards the next stall, which was some sort of jewlery bazaar of sorts, with all sorts of funky amulets and rings for sale.

Jeez... people will buy any kind of crap these days. He thought to himself as he bent down, examining what was placed onto the table, picking a random object up every now and then and giving it a once over.

"How much is this?" He asked, holding up a simple silver chained charm, it's inscription lost and muddied.

"Ha ha! You've picked one as sturdy as you! An excellent choice, Young master!" The merchant, roiled with laughter, as he looked up to the red-headed fighter.

"Ha ha! I know, perfect isn't!" Vahn just laughed along with the merchant, which was eery enough as it is, just to hear him laugh that is. "Eh... What is this thing here?" A finger poked into the side of a small blue box, nudging it over onto it's side.

"Ah, that? I found that on the side of the road, long ago. I thought maybe someone would buy it, but no one has ever asked about it... Honestly I don't know what it is." The merchant responded, eyes snaking up to Vahn, who was busy eyeing the aparently mysterious item with growing greed.

"Oh, I see."

"In all these years, you're the only person who's ever shown any interest in it." the merchant smiled gently, his voice softening to sweet undertones. "So... would you like to buy it?"

"I don't see why I have to...."But the other man was already moving on. Sunstrike sighed and made a face at Vahns back.

Sighing again, resigned to his fate, he picked up the two new bigger parcels and followed him to the stand staring down at the objects with a critical eye, much the same as Vahn's.

"I wouldn't buy it, s'got some worn edges and the colours faded..." His voice was casual and he wasn't even looking at the box, but some other adornments. The stallkeeper looked at him sharply and then back at Vahn.

HE was havign trouble seeing, but he could here a vendor, the one whose shop Cal broke, yellign at him in such a rage, he barely understood a word he said. Or so Cal hoped. The large vendor picked him off of the ground,a nd threw him into the street on hsi face. He was scraped on his face and right arm fromt he ground durign the fall. It was then he noticed an odd shadow gettign bigger aroudn him. It was black, but it had shimmers of light in it. He almsot though he was losign his eyesight, when he realized it was the large glass slide. If his eyes could shoot open wide, they would have. All he ahd strength for was to summon the last of his energy to formign a sheild on hsi back usign th Atomos armor. When the slide hit, he felt agonizign pain in his back from the impact, but the glss itself broke into thousands of pieces, which all fell around his body. He lsot his sight temporarily, he hoped, but right nwo, he was drained of everything.

"It reminds me of the charm I used to wear... the one she gave me." He said in reply, eyes looking over the silver chained charm, before glancing towards the strange box that had captured his attention thus far.

"Is this expensive, old man?" He pointed towards the odd box once more, as the Merchant placed both his hands upon the table.

"That depends. First, would you mind giving me your hand?" The merchant, smiled nicely enough, as he made his seemingly simple request, which only made Vahn respond questiongly.

"My hand?" He seemed a bit aprehensive at first, rightfulyl so.. but extended out his left hand anyway. "All right..."

The merchant took hold of it, examing the outstretched hand every which way, fingers treading over the lines his palm and feeling the skin. "You have healed burns all over your fingers... and the nails are burnt at the edges."

Vahn stared on,w ondering what the old man was getting at, and if he could really tell what kind of person Vahn was just from his hand...

"Ahhh...! You must enjoy making fireworks." The merchant finally responded, smiling warmly as he let go of Vahn's hand.

"..... Yes, I do." Yellowed eyes stared out towards the old man, as if trying to discenr something within the merchant's face, but was only met with that same warm smile.

"All right! Just pay me for the charm and both items are yours." The merchant just gave another deceptively warm smile.

Meanwhile, quite a commotion had stirred with the arrival of the newest adventurer, bit of broken glass laying all about the ground, minor injuries reported, and nothing serious.

The Militia and guards had already spread out, and a crowd of passerbys had formed where the man lay, seemingly unconscience, as medical aides rushed in, ready to transport the injured man to the local hospital.

"He just came in flying out of nowhere..."

"Thank god no one got badly hurt."

"Was he attacked?"

"I don't know...."

"Alright, alright, move it along people--"

HE was put onto a stretcher, now blind and dumb, but not deaf. HE heard the faint voices, but all he could do was mouth words. HE wanted to scream of the thigns he wanted, but he jsut didn't have the strength. All he could do was speak in vain via muteness and wait for his meal. Then he could find his oppenent.

Sunstrike

Sunstrike nearly fell over himself, internally laughing at the diagnosis of Vahn's hand...fireworks, that was a good way to describe it...

At first he'd seemed disinterested at most of the items on the stand, a little of this a little of...hold up a second...something....strange caught his eye. Slowly he filtered through the glittering objects to a small little object of bent metal. Hah!

He picked it up and inspected it closer. It wasn't quite an earring, more like a cuff that pinched into the ear and sat securly around the rim. Small wings were incribed on both sides...and the magic inside made things move uncomfortably in his mind. It wasn't so much that he'd change though...he decided he would chance it.

Leaning over again, he gently placed his item next to Vahn's, wordlessly adding to the tiny buy pile.

The addition didn't escape notice by the merchant of course, who just as easily smiled and spoke up again, dismissing the earlier tension between him and Sunstrike. "A most excellent choice, young master."

"I'll take all three, if you don't mind." Vahn chimed in, placing down a nice sum of 25 gold peices for the lot.

The merchant nodded, as he took the payment, ringing it intot he small metal box he had by his side, as Vahn picked up the charm, slipping it about his neck, and taking hold of the lavender box, sliding it into the pocket of his pants.

"Good luck selling the rest of your items, old man."

"Thank you!" the old man said cheerfully, leaning back again, as he added in- "I hope you two find what your looking."

HE was left in the hospital. THey put him up toa breathign machine a needle in his arm to give him some nutrition. IT was then he realized he could see again. HE tried to flex his arm, but couldn't move that well. At least I can feel my hands..., he thought. It was then a doctor accompanied by a female nurse. THe doctor spoke to him.
Hello there. I'm Dr. Hansworth. You seemed to take quite a hit, young man. A few conks to head, dehydration, hunger... Almsot liek you were in the desert the whole day. Well, in any case-
2 days... I was in there for 2 days. Now, feed me real food. HE didn't care that he cut the doctor short. HE didn't care that the nurse had a frightened look on ehr face. All he cared about was getting his strength back. He felt two very powerful forces movign away from him. He knew one of them was Vahn, but coudln't care elss about the other.
As your doctor, it is best that you rest. Youa re in no shape to eat solid food.
I shall eat your heart unless you get me food! Now go!
The doctor gave hima frightened look. Y-yes, sir! Quick! We need to get him food! He pointed to the door while speakign to the nurse. Both of them elft ina hurry so he coudl be fed.
HE, lackign much energy, rested in his bed. HE wished they'd hurry up.

Sunstrike grinned and nodded in ascent to the mans wish, then he looked back at the retreating back of Vahn conspiratorily, before laying a few coins down and picking up something else that he'd seen, holding one finger to his lips before the stallkeeper could speak. There was two nods, and then Sunstrike was off following his friend to the edges of town. Clipping the new adornment over one of his strange ears, and slipping the other object into a spare pocket.

The owner looked at the money in place of the small object the other man had taken, and then shrugged. It had been practically worthless as it was, nothing more then a pretty paperweight, but he was damned if he was going to turn down good money for something worthless to him.

Running a hand through his hair, he felt his stomache groan and gurgle, demanding food apparently, because that's what people needed after all- fuel to keep on running and all.

"Well... That's enough shopping for me. I'm tired!" An exasperated sigh escaped his lips, as he stretched out, ignoring the fact that Sun was the one carrying all the bags.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 25, 2005 6:01 pm

Sunstrike looked surprised for only a moment before with a thump the bags landed and he jumped onto Vahn's back, holding on with his knees and one arm around the other mans neck he drove his knuckles into a tousled red head.

"YOU'RE tired?! I've been carrying all the stuff!!! And I-" The smell of food suddenly hit Sun and he blinked, his stomach rumbling. "Do you want lunch?" The mood change was very quick, considering he still had the other man in a head lock.

Here! All the food I can get!The doctor brought all kidns of food from the food pyrmaid. Cooked meat, cold fruits and vegetables. He brought mostly carb food as well. For drinks, which the nurse carried, were full of energy drinks and water. No soda.
Nice work, Doc. Lots of energy food. But no soda... Wouldn't be good in this desert city anyways. Guess you live today. You can go now, but the nurse stays with me. HE gave the doctor a death stare.
Yes, sir! The doctor scrambled out of the room, not caring about the nurse.
When the doctor left, he put a smiel on his face and reached for an apple. He tossed it to the nurse. Thank you for helping me. As a thanks, you can rest yourself while dining with me. So what's your name?
The nurse, quite startled by his mood change, sat down on the bed at hsi feet. and nibbled on the apple. M-my name is Maureen.
Maureen... What a beautiful name. HE stared at her for a moment, admirign her blonde hair and almsot perfect body type. And a beautiful body. I wonder if she has... No, not important. HE cut into a chicken breast and ate a piece, savorign the sweet taste.
