Kaleb was still rather oblivious to the suggestive nature of that conversation, so he just smiled as the two prepared to leave. "I-it was nice seeing you again," he said with a small wave.

"Was good to see you again too Kaleb!! I'll let you know when we are going to have Miranda's going away party, I know she will want to see you!!" He then looks to Rikku with a smile, ignoring Relms laughs, "Ramen!! Yes, I am always up for anything after ramen!!" he says, grabbing her hand. As they walk off, he looks over his shoulder at Keme, who was laughing his head off now, "What's so funny?"

Keme almost fell off the bench he was sitting on and he shakes his head, getting his laughter back under control and wiping his eyes. He still couldn't get how Naruto could still be so clueless about things, "Maybe I should head off home now too, especially since Naruto forgot the things he bought today. Besides, too cold to sleep outside tonight anyway." he comments simply, looking down at the bags.

For all her acting, Relm could not hide the disappointment on her face at Keme's comment about leaving. She was torn... wanting to talk to Kaleb about magic, to stay close to the hummingbird male. But she would not press herself on the one she loved. Relm lifted herself up slightly to lightly kiss the tall male's cheek. "If you must, Hummer. Unless you'd like me to help."

Then she pressed her hands to her mouth in surprise as a thought struck her. "Espers! I'm sorry, Scholar! You were studying! I've probably totally messed up your time." The artist looked appropriately chagrinned.

Kaleb blushed. "N-no, I-I think I was done studying for the day anyway..." He gave Relm a sheepish smile. "You were probably right earlier, I shouldn't worry so much about the test. I-it was really nice talking with you."

Keme stood up and stretched, feeling his back pop. Then he relaxs and picks up the bags, "It's ok Relm, I probably wouldn't have anything to add to your conversation and probably just take up space!" he says with a smile. He didn't want her to up and leave just cause he was leaving.

Then it's space well taken, Love. But Relm did not say it aloud. Instead she gave Keme a loving smile momentarily at a loss for words.

To Kaleb she manages. "It has been nice... I could probably go on for ages if you let me."

Though for different base reasons, the overall reason was close enough for Relm not wanting to force their hands. And nothing she felt like delving into at the moment.

"Mnn, you probably have other places to be." Kaleb said with a timid smile. "I-I really like the company, but I wouldn't want to keep you."

Keme shooks his head and leaned over and kissed Relms cheek lovingly, "No, you stay, I am sure you two have alot to discuss!! I'll probably be at Moochi's home all winter anyway, so you can send me a message via Dreav if you like." He straightens and smiles and nods to Kaleb, "It was really good to see you again Kaleb, I hope we don't go for long periods without seeing you again!" he nods to the two again and turns and makes his way down the path that would lead out of the park and on his way home.

"I've never been in love before... I'm not sure what to do." The pictomancer murmured softly, hardly realizing she had spoken aloud as the gaze of her light green eyes followed Keme's departure. Relm sat with her hands folded over her brush in lap, knees together, toes barely touching the ground. She felt oddly small and alone -completely out of sorts with what to do now. It was a feeling she was uncertain what to do about.

Kaleb blinked as he just barely caught what Relm had said, and then turned to watch Keme leave. "Go after him?" He suggested in a quiet voice, blushing a bit. He had never been in love himself and never expected to, so he was no expert, but it really seemed like Keme leaving had thrown her way off balance.

Only after the mage's quiet words reached her ears did Relm realize she had spoken her thoughts. Her first response was to laugh it off, play it innocent, deny it. She became flustered, discovering she did not want to do any of those things. Relm ducked her head. "No. I... don't want to be clingy."

She was still a little afraid. Of losing her independence & individuality... and of the unknown. Of needing to be with him so much. "I don't need to follow him..." Relm glanced up at Kaleb. "Unless you didn't want to talk anymore."
It was very clear from her tone facial expression that the pictomancer would like to talk more if possible, but also a level of restraint as she prepared for if Kaleb preferred not to.

Kaleb blushed a bit more, obviously his suggestion had been a bad one. "Mn, I-I didn't think of that," he said as he ducked his head and smiled sheepishly. He would have had an excuse to follow if he loved a girl, if nothing else just to see she got home safely. "I-I'm sorry, I'm not really so good at this kind of thing."

The little healer glanced up and caught Relm's expression, and that along with her words threw him into a fullblown flustered episode. "N-no, I-I enjoy the company, really!" He stammered, blushing and fidgeting very badly. "I-I w-was just afraid you had somewhere else you would rather be, a-and I would be keeping you."

Her smile was genuine if a little frail as she looked up. "Neither am I. You wouldn't believe the mess I made..."

Relm gave a sharp short laugh. Where was her calm facade of strength? Chuckling at her self she shook her head. "I've really nothing planned today, now that the shopping's out of the way."

She purposely avoided the 'rather be' part of Kaleb's comment. Relm would always rather be with Keme than anywhere else but sometimes she could see past that to know that hanging with others was both good and necessary. She really was enjoying the company of a fellow magic user & friend too.

Kaleb calmed down enough to smile back, although it was a little nervous and hardly confident. He could see that Relm was still preoccupied with something else, and he had always been too much on his own to know how to help. He could only heal one's physical hurts, really, and that thought brought on a little emotional hurt of it's own.

"I-if you ever needed someone to talk to..." He offered in a hesitant voice that seemed hardly more than a whisper. The mage didn't have much advice to offer, but he was a good listener at least. Maybe it would help her feel better, and then she could talk happily at him instead of looking so shaky and lost.

"Thanks Scholar. That really means a lot." Smiling she shook herself slightly to push her insecurities aside. It was something she needed to talk to Keme about later. As they talked about all the other things that had bothered them before.

Relm laughed a little, an embarrassed glimmer in her eyes. "I guess I'm just a little new to this "happy" feeling. The whole concept really. Why, the closest thing to love I got to see among my companions was Locke & Celes... and he had to get over his dead girlfriend first!"

Almost casually the pictomancer waved her brush, painting a transparent scene of a kindly ruffle haired young man in blue & a golden-haired female general with a magic sword overlooking a sleeping dark haired beauty. Seeing what she had done Relm blinked then with a laugh dispelled the magic holding the image in place. "Maybe that's why I like to play matchmaker: it's easier to be an observer than to experience it myself."
