Shasta settled all her weight upon her four feet, as she remained on the couch back. She meowed at him, but did not move. Maybe she didn't feel like exploring. Couldn't this funny creature see that?

Ari couldn't help but laught. Brownie cravings, hm? Well, she knew what it was like to have sugar cravings, which was almost the same. She nodded and hurried after Jizzy, grinning, "Sure!"

Tobias gave a sad hoop and shuffled hismelf over to Shasta's perch, clicking an hooping in a pleasding manner. He didn't want to sit around all day like this. He wasnted to explore and to find thing and have fun.. He ran around in a small circle, falpping his tiny jumps and jumpin about. He wanted to pllaaaay.

Jizzy smiled and ducked into the fridge. "I know I had some batter ready from before.." She muttered and sniffled again. Was she getting sick? No, that was imposible.. She pulled out a bowl full of a dark brown batter and smirked. "Freshly baked.." She said and began to prepare the batter in a tray.

Shasta began to find the creature way to energetic. Perhaps she should go find a new sitting spot attop a bookshelf or something. It would not do to have him come up and try to push her into activity...she still was extremely wary of his quills. Hopping down, she loped lightly over to the library room, who's door had been left open.

Ari moved into the kitchen with a smile, "Well that's handy." She moved over to the ovan and began to bring it to the correct temperature for brownies. Or at least, the kind she usually made were about this high.

Tobias hooped and followed eagerly, mistaking her reluctance for a wish to explore. He entered the library and looked around, losing a bit of interest in his furry friend.

"I made a bit to much last time, so I just keep the rest of the batter in the freezer till I need it." SHe said and moved to the oven. SHe smiled upon seeing the temperature was already set and simply plopped thm in. "Thank you.."

Shasta walked into the library, her white gaze traveling about the dusty shelves. Crouching back, she jumped up onto a desk and then leaped to the top of a shelf. She shifted around slightly and then settled herself into a comortable lying position. Such should have been her obvious dislike for the exploring idea.

Ari smiled and nodded, "No problem...though I'm not much a off a cook myself, so I'm rather surprised I got the right temperature...since I don't tend to remember such things." She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly at her own comment.

Tobias hooped and jumped around the library, examining anything and everything that he saw. He began running around and witha loud BAN, he collided head-first with the bookcase. Tobias yeleped as a barrage of books came plummeting towards hi and he leapt out of the way before we was entirely crushed..

"I'm sure you have your strenghts.. Being naught but a cook can sometimes prove a disadvantage.." She said smirking and taking a seat by the table.

Shasta let out a hiss as her fur bristled. She quickly darted away, her reflexes snapping into action. She jumped from the shelf onto the desk, right before the books spilled out onto the floor where Tobias had been. She tried to settle back down, but have a Tobias a irratated yowl for causing such a mess.

"Well...yes...but they don't usually help me when I'm hungry," Ari grinned. Blacksmithing and magic weren't always good to mix with preparing food...so she usually had simple things and ate them over and over again.

Tobias gave a shudder as the dust settled and the book bombing ended. he crept out towards them, a few opne, most closed or upside down. Helooked onto the pages of one. What odd symbols.. Pretty too.. He began to trace them absentmindedly with his beak..

"Maybe we could help each other out then. My cooking skills in exchange for.. what did you say you could do again?" She asked, even though she knew perfectly well Ary hadn't said what it was she could do.

Shasta shifted, letting her fur settle back into a smooth coat as she relaxed. It seemed the strange create was calming down, so there shouldn't be any more toppled shelves. She curled her tail around her feet and brought her head down the table top, ready to try for a nap.

"Ah...um...Blacksmithing, Magic, and...a little writing," Ari said, counting them off on her fingers as she looked upward in thought. She wasn't exactly sure how any of these could help her new friend, but hey, you never know.

TObias continued tracing the symbols. They meant something, he knew it, but what. He jumped around and hooped in exhasperation. What did they mean!!! He scurried over to where he saw Shasta and he clicked and hooped. Maybe Shasta knew what the symbols meant.

Jizzy's eyes had an odd glimmer as the word magic was uttered. "Magic, then.. I can't cast myself.. not anymore anyways.." She said witha faint shrug.

Shasta looked at him oddly, feeling her ears flicker back as he began to jump around. He never lost any of his energy, did he? She didn't seem to interested in the book he was trying to understand. Besides, she didn't know the human writing symbols either.

Ari tilted her head to one side, blinking curiously, "Anymore...?" She didn't push the question, however, not wanting to upset or discomfort Jizzy by accident or anything.

Tobias looked at the book again, they were such nice symbols.. If only he knew what they meant. He gave a sad little hoop and toddled over to Shasta. He clicked and hooped at her. Didn't she know of soemthing they could do? Besides figuring out the symbols and exploring, Tobias was fresh out of ideas.

"Yah.. I used to be able to.. then.. long story short.. I screw a spell up and now I can't cast without some pretty nasty concequences." She said very vaugely. She didn;t specifiy how the spell that'd she'd screwed up had been the one that kept her solid, insted of being a ghost, or that the nasty consequences was tat she'd be found by ehr fmaily and most likely made go poof. SHe couldn't be killled again, could she?

Shasta was growing tired of the energetic creature. She didn't like moving around a whole lot when she could be relaxing. And she much prefered the quiet to something noises. She edged back slightly, settling completely down where she sat, looking as though she wouldn't ever get up.

Ari gave a nod, taking the vagueness of the anwser easily. Magic was a tricky thing and if not used properly things could go wrong easily. Even if the spell was successful, it didn't mean the outcome was a good one. "Understand," she told Jizzy with a smile.

Tobias gave a tired hoop and began to dash away. Shasta was no fun. She never did anything. He rushed to the kitchen where he tugged on his mother's pants with his beak. Maybe mother could teach him of the symbols.

Jizzy felt a tug at her look and looked down to find Tobias. She smiled and was about to pick him up when the oven bing and she stood. "They're done!" SHe excalimed, as she pulled the brownies from the oven, setting them to cool as Tobias watched.

Shasta let out a tired breath and relaxed. Finally some peace. She curled up into a comfortable position and closed her eyes, deciding to take a cat nap.

Ari grinned, "You know what goes good with chocolate?" She moved over to the fridge, pulling out something she had been longing for for a while; a cartin of milk. Her home didn't have the electricity to hold a fridge, so she had been forced to deal without, no matter how much she loved the stuff.
