"If you don't mind my help, that is," he added as an afterthought, Artemis seating himself next to Sylam as he spoke, "I've been watching this town for a while now, and know what they're up to, as well as where they are. My people have been involved in protecting the artifacts, so we're not too keen on outsiders getting involved under normal circumstances."
He shuddered, recalling the feeling of dread he had felt a few days ago, "But now I can hardly call these circumstances 'normal.' There have already been two pieces stolen already, as well as the corresponding Pokemon to go along with them. I fear something dreadful is happening, and I can only pray my hunch isn't correct."
"Ah!" he suddenly exclaimed, shaking his head, "I forgot, my name's Sylam. Sorry about that. I'm not too used to talking with new people, I'm afraid, so I hope my manners aren't as rusty as they seem to me." He nodded to the trainers, "I would appreciate your assistance, if you'll lend it to me," he admitted.

((I think I'm still a Hunter, my attacks always miss, though. The vamps look weird, though, so I'm glad I'm still a human. The only way I'd swap is to get the vamp items, but I think my avis fine without the fangs.))
Brayden jumped slightly, not even realizing that the other figure was there. Slightly berating himself for his inattentiveness, as well as trying to blame it on still being sleepy, he turned to Sylam, smiling.
"I'm Brayden," he nodded, introducing himself, "And yes, any help you could give us, we'd be grateful. You see, we don't really know exactly what's going on," he admitted, "But we're set on stopping it. Whatever's up, it can't be good, and I'm a bit worried that all the teams seem to be cooperating on this at once. Normally they don't get along well, right? Aquas and Magmas especially, but from what I've seen, it seems everyone's working together on this..."
Brayden turned, hearing the rustling in the underbrush, thinking Kaya had returned. Indeed he had, but Brayden averted his gaze swiftly, flushing crimson.
"R-Right, we have been dealing in the other regions," he stammered slightly, trying to fight down the blush. "So perhaps we can be of use here as well."

"Definitely not good," Brayden echoed with a nod, casting a glance to the Dragonair playing with the Pokeball, curious as to where it had come from, since he never recalled seeing any of the dragons in Hoenn before. Brushing the thoughts aside, thinking it must have a good reason to appear before them, although he couldn't help but wonder. Where those the faint glitter of tears in the moonlight?
"So if they're trying to recreate the sword, I don't even want to consider what they're planning on doing with it once its restored," Brayden shuddered. Just the line from the myth talking about the senseless slaughter of Pokemon was enough to send shivers down his spine, queasiness rising mixed in with anger.
"No matter what, we have to stop whoever's behind this before they get all the pieces," he muttered.

"However," he paused momentarily, casting a glance southwestward, "It would seem one of us, my brother, was unsuccessful in deterring Team Magma from getting a second piece, one of the half of the blades." Sylam sighed sadly, "He's always jumping in over his head, so I can imagine what happened. Out of all of us, he's more the type to dash in first, and ask questions later, despite the consequences. Although I know he tried his best, I doubt he was able to take on Team Magma by himself, so I would assume they have taken half of the blade, as well as Groudon, and have retreated from the area."
I can only pray he's alright, was added silently, but Sylam continued on without missing a beat, "The other half of the blade lies off the coast here, in Lilycove. Kyogre guards this piece, and it is that which Team Aqua is searching for. Both the blade and the legendary guardian of the sea."

Brayden could only gape at Kaya's story. A baby Kyogre! Man, that would have been awesome to see... wait, save the world's supposed to come first, right? Slightly torn, tempted to beg Kaya to see his homeland eventually, Brayden focused his mind back on the task at hand. He hoped his apparent concentration A.D.D was due to the Vulpix dna.
"Right, the hilt hasn't been mentioned, so I assume that's still out there," Brayden nodded. "So we've still got some hope to stop them, no matter what," he grinned.
"But we've got the half of the blade here in Lilycove, so perhaps we should look into that first," he nodded. "That might be what Chloe and Train are looking into right now. The hilt, I mean," he elaborated after a slight pause.

"So they've already taken Kyogre?" Sylam gaped, as Artemis blinked, clearly not pleased either. "Oh dear, that's horrible, it seems things were more serious than I thought, they're already a step ahead of us again," Sylam sighed, shaking his head. "We should have started out sooner," he told Artemis, who only shrugged in response. It wasn't as if they could change that now.
"Well, that only gives us all the more reason to hurry," Sylam nodded. "We've got to head to the coastline, that's where the entrance lies to the cavern where the blade half is held."

"...That's right, Kaya, I'm surprised you picked up on that," Sylam smiled with a nod. "Malys is my twin, we grew up together in Snowpoint, although he never was too happy with the weather," he chuckled quietly at the memory.
"We do share a bond of sorts. At times, we can feel each other's pain, and can sense the other's emotions, if we're nearby. The stronger the emotion, the easier it is to pick up on, which is what has me the most worried currently," he admitted. "A while back, I felt an intense burning, but then since then, nothing, so I don't know what's become of him."
"He was all to eager to get out of temple guard duty to join us as we set out into the different regions. There is another with us from Snowpoint, Valsin, and we set out, agreeing to meet up at Start Mountain if things turned out to get that bad."
"Stark Mountain holds the final piece," Sylam elaborated, "The hilt, indeed, lays in the Whirl Islands, and the final piece, the guard, lies with Heatran at the top of the mountain. That is one reason why its such a hard mountain to climb, Heatran is constantly making the mountain treacherous in order to guard the final piece."
"However, you cannot reach the peak of the mountain without the other pieces, so as long as we get one piece of the sword, we should be fine, although the more that are out of the hands of whoever's behind this, the better."

"So that's why we were advised to head to Stark Mountain last," Brayden guessed quietly. He honestly felt bad for Sylam, knowing what worry for someone was like, especially if you don't know what's become of them. He fingered the small charm on his glove unconsciously as he listened to the rest of the details.
"So he headed to Mt. Pyre, and Valsin to the Whirl Islands," Brayden assumed. He followed Kaya's gaze to the water, noticing the dark shapes as well, nodding in realization.
"That would be my guess as well, now that you mention it," he agreed.
