As for Quehal's words... harsh. Not to mention bias.

I don't believe Aeris was ever trying to "steal" Cloud from Tifa or "ruin" their relationship though.
1: Aeris started flirting with Cloud before she knew Tifa existed. Not after. How could she have known about Tifa? She's never met her and Cloud does not mention her until well after Aeris makes a move for him, and that's only casually. So, as far as Aeris is concerned Cloud is available.
2: Tifa never comes out and admits her feelings to Cloud... there are points after Aeris' death that she gets close but even on the date with Tifa and Cloud, Tifa never admits her feelings.

I don't know about you but if I like a someone I'm not going to let the fact that they keep hot company keep me from going for the person. If the just seem to be friends (which is what Tifa and Cloud present themselves as) then I don't think I'd be ruining anything.
And I don't think I'm the only one.
If you don't like Aeris... that's your beef... but be nice and reasonable. Aeris fans don't like people accusing Aeris of nasty things just as much as Tifa fans don't like Tifa being accused of it.

I never said Tifa didn't like him. As for if Cloud liked Tifa... that's your opinion. But just because Tifa likes him doesn't mean Cloud likes her. I can point out moments to me that Cloud seems annoyed by Tifa actually.

One thing I have come to notice is that more realists seem to say Tifa and more romantics seem to say Aeris. Understandable.

I believe that Cloud enjoyed Aerith much more than Tifa, and that Yuffie just was like his annoying little sister. I think this because of the actions in Kingdom Hearts, and that he still greived over her even to Tifa, which is not smart to greive about a past relationship to a current one, after her death. It seemed to consume him. So my thought is Aerith, hands down.

Actually the line was "I was devastated. ......I wanted to be noticed."

I will admit... Cloud is very much a man to dwell on the past however; a childhood crush can simply be that... a childhood crush.

I will not deny that there were romantic feelings from Cloud to Tifa, but all of these things a in past tense. Tifa has present feelings to Cloud but, unless the gamer instructs Cloud otherwise, Cloud shows no romantic affection to Tifa. Every mutually "romantic" sequence between Cloud and Tifa either is gamer optional (Cloud being affectionate to Tifa under the Highwind) or is refering to Cloud's feelings in past tense (The Lifestream scene).

All manditory present refering scenes used to argue the CloudxTifa pairing such as Cloud dressing up to "save" Tifa (he thinks he's saving her) from Don are scenes that can just as easily argued to my point of a brother/sister relationship between Cloud and Tifa.

However, Cloud numerously shows light hints of his present romantic feelings to Aeris in lines such as "But I'm... we're here for you." or even after Aeris' death "Don't worry Aeris; I'll take care of everything." and "I think I can meet her there."

I suppose whatever floats your boat. Personally, I think TifaxZack are the best couple.

It was obvious that his main focus was Aeris [not Aerith, or Aries. rolleyes Aeris is the original Japanese name, Aerith was the new english name.].

It was her that he originally takes on the date. Anyone who paid attention could see how upset Cloud was for her death. Tifa was a childhood friend who he used to like, but it never turned into anything more. She probably ended up loving him, but her feelings were never returned. 3nodding
