Dante stepped out of the ship into the clearing of the foreswtthat they had landed in just to the north east of moenia. he stared up at the sky while he waited for the gungun to reply. he wasn't waiting long.
"Dante? Me'sa Brother Dante? You came!" came the voice from the micro comunicator.
"Hey Brother... You called m..." Dante froze, staring at a tree to the side of the clearing, a huge claw mark run across the trunk. "Jar jar... Theres something here that shouldnt be."
"In da forest?" Jar Jar replied. "Me'sa thanking you for coming but I cannot be getting dare. We Gunguns have problems here'sa. Me'sa call you on behalf of da Moenian 'Lortha Benz'. She'sa can be found in the Cantina."
"Ok Jar Jar... Thanks."
Dante returned the comunicator to his pocket and walked over to the tree trunk.

As the scanner finished.... scanning, a low beep was emitted from the cockpit. Cole walked back in to see the results and was surprised when he looked at the monitor. "Hey Dante... I think you should see this. A little strange, if you ask me." Cole said into his comlink, noting the surprisingly low count of wildlife in the viscinity.

Dante ran a hand down the claw mark. If he didnt know any better he would have said it was from a rancor, but that was impossible... wasnt it?
Dante backed away and looked at the surrounding trees. where were the other creatures? the small herbivors, the larger carnivors... all gone.
Dante turned as he heard Cole calling his name. "He must have the results of the scan in." he muttered,

Cole had compiled the data, figuring someone more familiar with the planet should take a look at them before he makes any assessments. He downloaded the info into his holocommunicator and walked outside of the cockpit, looking for Dante. He looked around and noticed that Dante had stepped outside, not too far from the ship. Cole walked briskly towards the council member and stopped a few feet away, handing him the holocom. The image projects and it's an image of the scanner's results.
"Don't these numbers look a little small to you?" Cole asked, pointing out the population of various creatures in the viscinity. "I'm not as familiar with the terrain as you are, but we're still a ways off from the city and I just don't think these numbers should be this few. Besides, there's an unknown heat signature... something is around here that don't belong. I did a scan and even though it's not identified, it's approximately 25 meters long, about 10 high. After cross-referencing it to the area's database, there isn't a land animal even close to that size. This thing is too close to the ground to be an N-1 fighter, not to mention you'd have to be an extremely skilled, or crazy, pilot to ride an N-1 through this forest as fast as this thing is travelling."

"According to this," Cole continued as he pointed out surveys of the nearby database, "population of the falumpaset, ikopi and especially the mott have been in rapid decline for the last couple of weeks. Ikopi's are almost extinct in the area! According to the city's database, there have been numerous..."
Cole stopped as he notices the marred tree trunk behind Dante, walking slowly towards it. "What do you think did this?"

Kida was a little surprised at Kai's lightsaber, almost stumbling back. She had never seen such a color before. "We are both sentinels. That's close enough."
She took a step backwards as he leaped up. Watching him carefully, she smiled to herself. Kida jumped off to the side as he dove down, swinging her saber back and away. "If you keep insisting we equal why you want a handicap?"
It was the Cole announced 10 minutes. "Woad, that was quick..." She stood up straight, staring off into a corner of the room where she assumed the announcement came from. Kida deactivated her lightsaber. "You win."

Dante took the holographic display from cole and looked at the numbers, it was disturbing, last time he'd been in a nabooian forest there had been hundreds of wildlife creatures... this wasnt right.
"25 meters long... that destroys my guess... although if I was right it would bring up a new possibility." he said, walking back to the claw marks.
"if I were to make a guess I'd say a tatooine-ian Sand Rancor but... well the reason why thats impossible is in the name."
"We have to go into Moenia... Perhaps Lortha benz knows more..."

"Hmm.... but a sand creature would explain the unusual heat signature though. This is all very strange." Cole said as he slowly backed away from the claw marks. "The city shouldn't take too long on foot, the only issue is that this... creature... is still out there."

"If you're going to learn anything from me it should be this: Never leave your allies behind, living or dead... everyone leaves the ship toghether and everyone will get back on it toghether."

"I didn't say I was going to... nevermind. I guess I'll get everyone." Cole said sheepishly. He pocketed his device and walked back to the ship, then climbed up the ramp. The craft had more than one room and it would be much more efficient for him to just address them all at once. He pressed the button on the intercom and leaned close. "Hey everyone, we gotta get moving. Dante and I will be waiting outside, we'll see you there. Cole out." he announced, then walking back to where Dante was. "When was the last time you were here?" Cole asked, still a few paces away but kept walking until he was by the tree. He sits on one of the larger trunks that were sticking out of the ground and turned to Dante, waiting for his reply.

Landing lightly on his outstretched right arm, the pure white blade of his Lightsaber almost touching his leg, Kai stopped suddenly as he heard the words of both Cole and Kida. We’re there already? The ship must’ve been modified in some way or another for it to of made the journey in such a short time, maybe he’d have to listen in to his brother and Dante when they started talking technical stuff.
”Wait, how’d that one work out?”
Clipping his Lightsaber to his belt, still ‘standing’ on his one hand, Kai pulled his knees in closer to his chest and dropped the other hand to the floor; using both to spring upwards and land on his feet. It wasn’t showing off, not really, he just didn’t like hitting his head on the ground if he could help it.
”Okay, don’t answer that. I guess we should just get ready and leave.”
Moving out of the room to suit his own words, his hands disappearing into the sleeves of his robes, the Jedi began a calming breathing exercise as he slowed his heart back to the normal pace. He kept his robes on as they were, not planning on heading into Moenia, and double checked that the pouches on the back of his waist were tightly secured before heading to the boarding ramp.
Once there he headed down, seeing that it was already open, and moved straight towards his brother and Cole only to stop a few feet behind them with his head tilted slightly to the left; studying the claw mark.
”Rancor?”

Kida deactivated her lightsaber and put it away before walking over to Kai who looked more like an acrobat than anything else. She chuckled light, then nodded. "Sounds like a good idea."
She followed him out, falling behind a little so as to not crowd him once they got outside. That, and she had a tendency to look about the ship right before they left. Just making sure no one got left behind... or so she told herself.
Outside, Kida advanced slowly. The claw mark was visible the moment she stepped out. Her yes stayed sturdy on it as she came up to the rest of the group, having no idea what it could be herself.

Cole said, looking up. He tilted his head slightly to see if there's anyone behind Kai, then noticing Kida's not too far behind.

"25 meters long... 10 meters tall... unusual heat signature, according to the ship's scanners. Looking at the dwindling number of the local wildlife population, it looks like it's a carnivore as well." Cole continued, giving out as much information he knows while throwing in a theory.
