The shop appears to be a normal artificers workshop. Various arcane tools and materials lay around the shop, and there's a few wands and small trinkets on display. A small chest, made from darkwood and reinforced with steel, sits on desk in the corner of the room right next to a stack of papers describing various orders for magical items ... all dated over a month ago.

While the others search Abdalin's hungry eyes fall upon the darkwood chest. He looks it over for traps and then goes to work to open it. Since, he has the time he feels that he shall take his time on the skill, just in case it is something worthwhile.

You don't find anything when you search the chest for traps. When you open the lock and open it, however, you hear a spring release and you just manage to pull your hand back before a needle jabs out of the lock.
