The sun filtered in through the barred windows of the sparsely decorated room the served as Greff's bedroom. The bulky barkeep snored loudly from beneath a swath of dull, colourless sheets. As the sun continued to warm his face, Greff began to stir. Soon he regained consciousness and was able to struggle up out of bed, ambling to a barrel at the corner of the room and dunking his head into the clam, dark water that filled it. He collected his clothes and put them on, saving the apron on the wall for last before opening the door and stepping out into the empty morning tavern. Greff checked the tap on the barrel of drinking water and got a fire going in the harth for boiling water. Tea leaves boiled in water were great for easing the venegence of irresponsible intake of drinks while some of the more adventurous and less hung over liked to try the ground up beans that made a strong and bitter cup of what the merchant said was coffee. Although it was expensive for just one cup, those who liked it were strongly attached to it. Greff also had the back door unlocked just in time for the errand boy that he employed to arrive and take the list of fresh food stuff that Greff would need for the day. An hour later, old man Hurald wood arrive in a wagon carrying the stuff on the list from the farmer's market. Till then, Greff had some other last minute touches he would like to make before opening the Tavern for business.

Kanlay wasn't up yet.

Ketlin, however, was. And he was outside. When he heard some one come out, he walked around the corner of the house to stand in front of her. "Hello," he said quietly, but he looked frightened. He was perhaps six years old, and of course did not look like Hitori. She could guess that this was the boy Hitori meant, but it was only a guess.

Artemis jumped back alittle and shared a very more intense look of fright by his apperance. Looking around the room for anyone other door, but finding none, she looked back to him, trying her best to smile. "Ketlin?" She assumed, "What are you doing up so late, and outside? It's cold out and Hitori will worry. ..ah." Her mind blinked alittle. Didn't Hitori say that the boy didn't speak. This was horrible. The boy was speaking, with her, finally, and she was currently not in the best 'condition' to have a pleasant discussion. Yet, if she didn't, she might never have a chance to. In this state, Sortha came decending down the stares and greeted them both. Two People! This was a disaster. Even now her heart was racing and she struggled to keep her eyes from rolling back. Her heart was pumping fast, but she kneeled down and smiled weakly at him. "Ketlin. Good morning. Come inside and we'll find something to...eat." She said, the last word almost choked down.

Her eyes looked outside. To freedom and she sighed, letting her land slip and the door swing shut. Walking over and behind the bar, she started to rummage for anything suitable for a child. "So, how have you been Ketlin? Do anything worthwhile as of late?"

Sortha stood there a few minitues looking as Artemis and Ketlin walked to the bar then she fallowed. She sat and looked at the boy with a smile. "How are you? Do you want something to eat?" she asked with a smile. Then she looked up at Artemis. "Do you know where Hitori is?"she asked with a kind voice looking back down at the little boy.

"Ya we can take care of Ketlin till he gets up. Hey what are you doing here any ways. Are you like me and just passing threw or do u need to do somthing here. I was just wondering you dont have to answer if you dont want to. Oh and if you dont mind I would like to pay for Ketlin and your food." Sortha said in a friendly voice.

"I really don't know. I just kinda float about. I tend to do that alot since I tend to get forced away from my previous homes." She said, and set her dropping hand on her hand, which was propped on the bartop. Dang, she was tired.

"How about putting your pet in the city jail if it keeps shakin' me in apart like that!" Greff said gruffly, while putting a bowl of cereal on the table. He put a jug of milk beside it.
"If ya think it looks appitizin' me boy, go ahead and poor the milk and eat it. Its on the house. Nobody gonna be eatin' till tomorrow anyway, they all think toast is the best breakfeast." Greff turned back to the dragon...thing...
"Bring em round back, I have a post out there for the work horses. Should be enough ta hold whateva you got."
