My daughter kidnapped me to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night too. I enjoyed it a lot. My favorite parts were when he walks into the glass doors of the elevator. It is soooo unexpected. Almost don't see it coming.

MysticfawN Lizzy, just so you know, I wasn't LMAO at your chickie mask or striped clothes, because I actually really liked that look! It was cute, and colorful! My kind of things! I was laughing at the idea of Jelly letting you go just to pee.. wink I knew that! (who could NOT love the chickie mask look after all!) I love all the costume-ish outfits here, and the fact buying clothes is much cheaper than painting a pet... usually razz

GigglyBipper I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Friday
I have always like the first version. I still do. But I like this one better.
This version you get a look inside Mr Wonka.
And there is just more to the story with this one.
The Oompa Loompa are far more talented this time around too. My sister said the Ooompa Loompa's freaked her out...we still haven't gone to see this yet...hopefully sunday @ the drive in. been too hot for the drive in lately here (i know you know what i mean) We're going Saturday to see "The Skeleton Key" (yay) my sis & her hubby are in town and it's pretty much the only way he'll see it while it's in the theatre if we all 4 go cuz my sister HATES horror ... mostly cuz it frightens her so much. She's like me with a wild imagination and therefore everything scares her. Just saw a really really good movie on TV..."A Time to Kill" with Sandra Bullock and Matthew Mccounaughy(i don't know how to spell his last name lol...too late for brain work) Based on John Grisham...SO GOOD! I loved it and recommend people go see it.

In the mean time I guess I will sit here watching the news coverage from Louisiana about hurricane clean up.

That is a great way to see Wrath! One of my favorite Star Trek movies. But, alas... drive-ins are no more. At least out here. They built a Walmart where the last one was.

It was sad the day they took down the last of the screens. They had the news crews there and everything. It was a big deal because it was the last in Southern California.

that is sad because they're a great american tradition, something that people in other countries really associate with the US.

They had one in Southern California when I was a kid that had 4 whole screens, each faced a different direction and of course, you only had sound for the screen you were facing rolleyes but we thought that was pretty cool nevertheless. I grew up a couple miles from a single screen drive in and as a teenager for school extracurriculer fund raising, we had permission from the manager to wait outside with rags and windex and offer to clean peoples' windshield for a donation while they waitied to get in and see the movie. I think the movie playing *all* of that summer was "Star Wars" ... back before videos made it so movies were out of the theatre so fast... rofl
