Wren jumped as the air-sizzling laser fired across the top of the maze, moving to recall Destro before anything could happen and failing miserably as the light-speed blast of energy cleaved the Shiinotic in two. The Illuminating Pokemon’s bottom half fell to the floor, knocked from the cushiony cotton cloud, still sizzling from the heat of that beam and smoking slightly where the mycelium was scorched. Wren grimaced at the sight as he lowered Destro back to his side. “Destro… I’m so sorry! I expected something to be up there but that wasn’t it.” He admitted to the motionless top half of his Shiinotic. “Destro? Are you alive?!” Wren yelped. The mushroom Pokemon seemed to still be breathing but he was in shock at the moment.

“Shii… notIIIIIIICCCCC!” Destro finally screamed as he registered what had happened to him, flailing his arms around and hyprventilating for a moment.’

“Destro! Destro! You’ll be alright!” Wren insisted, grabbing the fungal Pokemon and hugging him close. “As soon as we get back home, I’ll get you some soil and let you spend some time in a nice shady spot while you regrow, ok?” He offered.

“Shii…. Shiino.” Destro replied, his breathing beginning to slow as he returned Wren’s hug. He knew hs trainer wouldn’t have sent him up there if he knew that was what would happen. This wasn’t Wren’s fault and he was offering to do everything he could to treat the injury.

About the time Destro began to calm down and Wren recalled him, promising to let him rest as much as possible, Sub had Mega Evolved Poe. Stowing Destro’s ball for the moment, Wren began to listen. He could finally hear the footfalls coming up behind them. He briefly considered switching his Artifact’s fuel for a different move but he could do that after the fact if needed. For the moment, he released Hemlock, his Cacturne instead. “I don’t know what’s coming up behind us but I want you ready to layer a Spiky Shield inside that Protect if it looks like it’s going to fail. And be ready to help reload Jenny.” He instructed the Scarecrow Pokemon, watching for whatever might appear behind them as he straightened up and prepared for the attack. Hemlock stood stock still, eyes roaming over the shadowy hall for signs of an attack coming and prepared to throw up the bright green shield if Poe needed support.

The Type: Null wasn’t even paying too much attention to what was going on, only was left in confusion about the chaos that was going up above it, but once it looked back down towards the others, it only got to see Ogerpon drive her Double Kick attack right into him. The designed Ultra Beast hunter yelped out as it got kicked back, leaving me to not even hesitate, darting off past the Ogerpon. I leaped up, springboarding off the top of the tanks then reached up at whatever monstrosity that was there. “GET THE HELL DOWN HERE!” I shouted, grabbing at whatever that thing was to drag it back down to the floor below, to bring it more into the light.

As the struggle to drag the unknown assailant into a brawl, a separate brawl was unfolding between Ogerpon and Type: Null. Not taking kind to the blindside, Null snarled at the Ogerpon and then started to get back on the attack, his forward claws glowing a lime green. Realizing that this was the fabled Oni from Kitakami, it couldn’t hold back. The hunter’s claws lashed out towards Ogerpon for a X-Scissor attack in retaliation. There was not going to be any holding this artificial Pokémon if it could help it.
Darksol88
"Cera, just let them fight!" Amaranth yelled, already rushing ahead alongside Squall. After seeing yet another fight breaking out, the storms could swirl and rage all they wanted so long as there was a way to pierce through. "Tristen needs us now, we'll deal with whatever's left of them later! We won't get anything done trying to mediate everything!"

Before long, she'd catch up to where Blizzard had tried to grab at Tristen's assailant, motioning forward. "Now, Squall! Close in with Esper Wing!" Finesse not being Squall's strong suit, the Hisuian Braviary would let out a screech as he flew forth and sped towards the monstrosity, wings glowing with an aura of Psychic energy and generating a draft to speed him up that little bit further.

Taking off herself and leaving Sharpedo between both battles breaking out, she'd try to get a psychokinetic grip on Tristen in lieu of trying to get a read that wasn't coming to her.

The X-Scissor gouges the ground on Type: Null's approach, Ogerpon's best attempt to duck and weave around the attack intercepted by the instincts of the other legend, causing her to hiss out loud in pain behind her mask as the Super-Effective talons score the side of her body. Managing to avoid the worst of it, she spins to go on the attack again as her mask rotates from green to red. Mirroring the change in her visage, her style changes as well as she goes on the offensive again, her Ivy Cudgel spinning into view as she summons it with a lick of flames. Feinting above her head like she was going to bring the weapon down on the unwieldy headpiece, she alters course and strikes at the quadruped's midsection instead, slamming it into the things guts over and over again with precision. Type: Null may have been bred for battle, but Ogerpon had a lot more experience at it.

Meanwhile, the unknown monstrosity poisoning Tristen had been trying to make a beeline for what looked like a gunky blob stuck to the top of the ceiling, near the exit opposite of them. It was a nest of some kind, fragments and remains of people that had disturbed it previously as well as some of the other tubemates woven into the tar-like substance that made it up.

Despite the thing's great speed and agility, it was clearly not used to nor prepared to be running into anyone quite like the Snagems pursuing it. Blizzard would be able to effectively and easily leap up and snatch the 'hybrid', if you could call it that, and its intended prey out of the air with a little Psychic assist by Cera, tugging on the thing's limbs and weighing it down. As the group of all three of them begin to trend downward with weight and gravity, Amaranth's Braviary cuts across the group like a missile and sends the thing crashing amongst the tubes in a cacophony of glass and formaldehyde, allowing Blizz and Tristen to make it to the floor much more safely. The container they mainly smashed through on the way down seemed to have some kind of remains of an Aggron hybrid, the metal weakened by the chemicals in the tube and long storage. It was dead, the container little more than a mausoleum for it now as it spilled out across the floor with a slosh.

But there was no sense in wasting a perfectly good meal, the 'hybrid' clearly thought, lightly wounded by the Esper Wing it would slither forward into the light, revealing its hideous grotesqueness to the lot of them. It looked like a Greninja... mostly. But its body had been mangled and mushed together through the use of its Protean ability by Ein to force it to accept other Pokemon DNA on a cellular level, the usual result of a multiple Pokemon hybridization and a dire glimpse of what Cera's future could have been once upon a time. The sac in the middle of its chest, still glowing with Tristen's electricity, looked almost like the end of a Mareep's tail as it pulses, the frog crawling forward over to the dead hybrid's corpse. Its tongue slides out, the Ekans that made it up hissing as it chomps into the preserved flesh with a grotesque ripping sound into the armor plates. As the Snagems watched on in horror, metallic plates begin rising out of its skin on its shoulders and back, a pair of Aggron shaped horns piercing the skin and gracing its forehead as the simple act of consumption of the organic element allowed it to shift and evolve right in front of them - Protean taken to its most diabolic and demonic usage. It gurgles in something that sounded like pleasure as it turns its lidded frog eyes to its pursuers again, before energy begins coagulating at its horns and it launches a Metal Burst out in enormous arcs towards Blizz as well as the Hisuian Braviary, trying to exact a measure of revenge.

Group Two:

Reno Vantas
And then, as they wandered into what seemed to be a clearing in this strange facsimile of some other environment, the entire thing rippled. Not like they hit a point and it rippled outward from there. No, it seemed more like the entire room rippled from front to back. And then it started spelling a word at them. Oh, this could only end well. Figuring that she looked the least threatening of the hybrid crew, Leslie would walk forward towards the giant 'HELLO'. "Hi there. Who are you and why do you seem to know us?"

Darts is just as perplexed as Leslie is, but no less cautious as the 'HELLO' vanishes, one word at a time vanishing and reappearing to spell out a message in all caps for the Snagems to read. 'MY. NAME. IS. A.T.H.R.A. I. DO. NOT. KNOW. YOU. IT. HAS. BEEN. A. WHILE. IS. IT. TIME?'

"Time for what?" Darts half-whispers to Leslie, looking around them unnerved. The center area they were in were not stirring or changing, no ripples running through the floor. It didn't look like there were any cameras that could see them, but the Giratina hybrid's jacket shivers with the sensation that they were keenly being observed.

'TIME. TO. BEGIN.' comes the unbidden response, clearly able to hear the gambler despite his best efforts.

Espeon_Commander
The hybrid’s thoughts started reworking themselves. What if it wasn’t reacting because of weight specifically, but because something heavy hit it? Deciding to test this now, she would drag the hammer behind her to the edge of the grid, before she would put a tentative paw onto one of the tiles gently. Time to see whether this step would shoot another set of tiles into the ceiling.

Crystal's presumption would bear fruit, as while the tile would depress slightly under her weight, sending a little ripple of motion through the room as ATHRA sensed another new presence, there is no massive pillar of force sending her hurtling up into the stratosphere. In fact, in exact opposite to that, the inside of the created world begins shifting, carving a new path out through the canyon to allow the Solgaleo hybrid easy access. Within a few seconds she could see Darts and Leslie standing in their little clearing, a new walkway presenting her a direct shot to them in a seemingly courteous fashion.

Group Three:

SubonicXP
Mega Poe would nod before sending his gem shield out in front of him spinning on its bottom tip. With the gem spinning faster and faster it broke up into tiny gemstone grains. The grains would gather together and reform into a box of crystalline energy around all four of them, protecting them from any would be attackers.

"Whoever...or whatever you are...you can show yourself now." Sub called out to the darkness.
Requiem of Whyspers

Support was going to be exactly what the Mega Evolved Ghost was going to need as the threat rounds the corner at a run, a massive unearthly howl filling the maze as a Mega Garchomp comes at the group at a dead sprint, an apex predator realizing its prey as it brings both scythes down with a massive Outrage burst, the impact exploding outwards as it smashes into the combination Protect and Spiky Shield. The thorns pierce its appendages but it seems unbothered, screaming rage and defiance as it attacks again and again and again, over and over attempting to break through while assaulting the Sableye. The Pokemon was incredibly strong and well-trained, and the reason why would click its way into view a few moments later. Cynthia's heels and the rest of her rounds that corner of the maze as she follows her ace Pokemon down the dead end, that same sick smirk on her face as earlier when she had them trapped in the gas chamber. "Well, well, well..." She coos at them through the box, her Pokemon huffing and snarling as it attacks again, sending debris flying as the Dragon attempts to smash the barrier. "We meet again."

DeoLux
Apparently Deo missed something, and he would not realize it. As they went on he ran into a dead end. He kept hearing something, feeling unease. He turned around to see darkness. His X-Ray vision still active, but could he see what was coming? His vision would enhance to see bones, but yet could he see what was coming? It didn't matter, what was bound to happen would happen in due time. What was the Minotaur of this maze of Minos. Feeling the wall, there had to be a secret button, a stone to push. Something must give way or something must seem different.
DragonFang099
Taking a chance, she let Spooky out of his ball, giving him a signal to go intangible and check along the wall to see if they missed something, to see if there was a place he might be able to phase through.

The sudden raising of Pluto's hackles stopped her in her tracks, and she tuned out the sound of her teammates, listening to see if anything was following them. Sure enough, she could hear heavy footsteps, along with a slight clacking noise. Whatever was making the noise was following in their footsteps, and the hairs on the back of her neck raised as she realized they were trapped in a dead end. "I get the feeling we've missed something that would have allowed us to bypass whatever is making that noise," she said. "And by the noise I'm hearing, I believe we're about to have a fight on our hands."

As the fight had been brought to them, Spooky did still have a little bit of wiggle room, not being the main focus. The Ghost would be able to find the gap in the ebonite walls, a weak point made of ordinary stone, but right now it was directly to the left of where the Mega Garchomp and Mega Sableye were clashing in the maze. If the Snagems wanted to get back there and use it to get out of here they were going to have to do two things. Distract Cynthia and her Mega Garchomp somehow, and break that wall to get out of here. Otherwise, they were as good as captured having wandered down the end of this maze. "I thought you all said you wanted to do this the easy way..." The champion continues, slowly walking down the hallway taking her sweet time. "That would have involved staying in my little gas chamber Sub. You all know you deserve what's coming to you, why make it.... painful?"

Group Four:

MoniqueBrie
Aniani's best efforts at first met the fire, but it continued to creep toward them, like a fiery shadow slowly and magnetically drawn to her and her Trainer. Monique huffed. This thing didn't wanna just catch hands. It wanted to catch both of them.

She decided to move. "Aniani! Move back! Don't let that fire hitcha!" She stepped away, dragging the Primarina back toward the middle of the room. "Yo I need some backup here, this fire gonna eat me!" she called out to the others. At least that infernal telephone wasn't ringing anymore. She saw Ulla on the line, but the receiver seemed to be pulling her, dragging her down...
Reno Vantas
Reno had started out waiting a foot or two away from Ulla as she answered the phone, prepared to listen and respond to whoever was on the other end. In the time it took to look back at what Monique was handling and turning back to where Ulla was, the room had suddenly turned into a highway that had him and Sol at one end and Ulla at the other. Was something responding to them? Something seemed to be....altering reality? Or maybe their perception of it? He needed to be paying attention when something changed or fought back this time. Opening up a Pokeball and letting his hidden passenger dislodge herself, he would look to his Wyanut and Finizen. "Alright, Nori. Help out with the fire fighting with a Water Gun. Harleen.....lets see if we can pick anything up." Reno commanded, watching as the small Water type gave a chirp before swimming its way over beside Monique's Primarina. It would take a moment to gather the energy, but soon Nori would be dousing the flames with a torrent of water alongside his fellow Water type.

As Primarina moved back towards the middle of the room with Monique, in the midst of dousing the fire, a very strange thing would occur. The flames would start to shrink back and diminish throughout their path to the middle of the study. Once the duo paused in the middle of the room, the fire would begin to flare up again - increasing in intensity and size proportionally as it had before, until the Finizen moves over to help, the flames dying down to their ministrations... until they pause to really pour it on, then soon enough the fire would be burning greater and hotter than ever, soon enough more than any two Pokemon would be able to handle.

Ulla_Hanabi
Both Ulla and Lucario somehow were able to hold onto it over the reciever. Not letting go just yet, because they weren't sure if they do hang up. Would the ringing start all over again? "Should we destroy the phone?" "No! She said anytime they change anything in the room. Things got worse. If I'm correct...we are in a room that is kind of stored in time in a way. If we were to mess anything in the room, things will go haywire. We might be the variable that is causing the room to go haywire. Now we need to solve how to get out."

The moments with Lucario leaping out of the Pokeball allowed Ulla and Lucario to be able to hang onto the receiver, but as they stand there again debating the receiver would begin to increase in weight, pretty soon it was going to be impossible for the duo to hold up again. Her mother was clearly saying something, but it was really hard to make out from the position of it heading to the ground. "We've stopped moving it's got better on our end, Ulla darling are you still there...? The phone piece was having almost a gravitational effect at this point as they stand still, driving them down into the carpet.

Darksol88
He and Reno waited for an answer. An answer that would never come if they kept waiting for it. They didn't need to see about getting a response. It was already being provided to them.

"...The room already is responding. It's been responding to us this whole time because we weren't responding to it!" He yelled out. "And unless you're willing to make it rain, I don't exactly have a way to douse flames at the moment!" He also didn't have a plan for escape, yet. But he was making sure he kept walking.
Reno Vantas
Facing towards where Ulla was with the phone, Reno would take off in a run towards his fellow Snagem. "Sol, we need to see if we can get a response from whatever is doing this. Make the room respond to you somehow! Start unshelving books, poking paintings, helping Monique, something to make it do things!" Reno yelled as he continued his sprint, focusing all his power onto his telepathy and other senses to try and get something out of this. Whether it was the mind of what was doing this, a pulse of energy, the sound of mechanical things moving, anything. Anything to work off of to figure out how things were working this way.

The combination of Sol's walking and Reno's sudden frenetic energy would all of a sudden start to pull the room back together, the distance between them all shrinking as they moved through the space. As a Psychic, the Co-Leader would have a very distinct taste of something like a warped Trick Room making up the fabric of the room they were in as he pressed and probed against it. The more he moved and started moving and adjusting things, little things like the fire would go down in intensity and the amount of space between each other and the exits would shrink. One thing was quickly becoming clear and Sol had ken it from their last statement - the more they moved, the more they interacted with the room WITHOUT standing still, the less they were affected by whatever was going on in here. There was a lot of ornate furniture, paintings, bookshelves, antiques scattered about all of them. It was time to see if Reno's ideas bore fruit.

Tristen and I would hit the ground, though in my case, not really for worse for wear. I would scramble up and pull Tristen out of the grasp of whatever this thing was, getting him away from his assailant as the chemicals, glass, and who knows what else sloshed across the floor. Type: Null, who was fully engaged in a fight with Ogerpon, lashing out and biting, trying to swerve around and counter attack as Ogerpon tried to beat Null senseless with her cudgel, ended up breaking off as the chaos started to spill in between them. As I got a little distance carrying Tristen, I started to look about him, noting he was out cold. I started to check him, pulse and all. He was alive, but out of commission for some reason. “Tristen!? Tristen!? Come on, wake up! Blast it, you are getting a little too big to be getting carried like this anymore!” I said.

I then took notice, as did the Type: Null, the monstrosity that put Tristen in this state. I couldn’t help but to now be disgusted myself at what I was looking at. Null wasn’t quite sure what it was looking at; not any Ultra Beast, for certain. It seemed like Ein didn’t necessarily stop with Cera, much to our chagrin. This chimera, of a sorts, started to shift its body structure, grafting metal plates about to better defend against the likes of all of us, and worse, it was looking as if they were taking as if it was a natural part of it. I couldn’t help but to think this was the laboratory that got leveled years ago miles from here all over again. I was at my limit at discovering these monstrosities that Ein had worked on for who knows how long. “Ugh, never waste a good project, huh Ein?” I silently asked as if the demented scientist was still here.

Type: Null was grimacing, hunched back, severely on guard. After witnessing the creature’s change, whatever it was supposed to be, Null found himself in a severely compromised position. Enemies everywhere, one apparently worse than the rest. The Oni was only a figurative monster; this was a literal one. Null then went ready to dodge, bracing itself once the attack started to manifest in this creature’s horns but only minor relieved that when it go on the attack, firing off what seemed to be a Metal Burst off, it went after the others, more specifically to me. I quickly turned around, only to get blasted in the back, namely in order to protect a defenseless Tristen. “GAAH!” I yelped out, hitting the ground. The attack was not kosher; super effective in fact and one of the weaknesses that I couldn’t really work out in my years of training. The hit burned like the hottest fire and my back ached fiercely to the point where I nearly locked up in pain.

Though did I see that right? Was that thing relishing in it? It was almost safe to assume that this thing wasn’t a Shadow Pokémon. If it was, it wouldn’t have cared. It just wants to fight and nothing more. Not take delight any more than it would be seething in anger. I pushed myself up, trying to keep myself between this thing and the incapacitated Tristen, taking out a Pokeball in the process. I was trying to figure out what the story was this thing; it seems like a Greninja, but the ability isn’t functioning like it should, probably because of the hodgepodge of things that made it into this Frankenstein of a monster. Or what it had done since. The electricity did nothing to it, but yet the Esper Wing attack did? As much as I wanted to try attacking this thing with say Blaziken and unleash fire upon it, I didn’t trust all of that was on the floor. If it was flammable or anything of the likes was a grave concern. We needed to try something else.

“Lucario!” I then shouted, tossing out the Pokeball. The ball landed, and in a flash, out came the steel-fighting type Lucario out for battle.

“Raaa!?” The Lucario spoke up, stunned of what it was looking at.

“I know! I know! Bone Rush it!” I shouted. Lucario quickly put his hands together and then pulled them apart, forming a large aura staff, shaped vaguely like a bone that it then reached out and grabbed, giving it a twirl then put it behind him, rushing off towards the grotesque science project. With a few twirls, working momentum up in its attack, Lucario would then start giving the harsh swings to try to strike down this freak of nature.

Type: Null, bred for battle, also was bred to know when the chips were undesirable. The four-legged Pokémon took a few steps back, starting to look around, trying to find some sort of escape route and find his way out of here. Looking towards Ogerpon, the Type: Null would growl out, unleashing a harsh violet like energy towards the Pokémon, one of that of Imprison then started to make a run for it, a hunt to find an escape.

A small, frustrated groan escaped Wren as their pursuer came into view. While he knew little of Cynthia, on a personal level, it was hard not to know of her Garchomp and it's battle prowess. That Pokemon was world-renowned for it's abilities on the battlefield as was the woman who trained it to be such a fearsome foe. **That** Cynthia was the one he was familiar with and she was standing before them now, bearing down like the weight of the sea upon a Staryu in the sand. He, however, was undaunted by her ferocity. Somehow. "The easy way was everyone working together and playing nice. You decided the hard way for us when you decided to lie and trick us." He asserted, standing behind Hemlock as the Cacturne struggled to maintain his support behind Poe's shield. Whispering to the Scarecrow Pokemon, he held his Artifact tightly. "I have an idea. The moment you get a chance, hit that stupid dragon with a Sucker Punch." He told the cactus. "I only need it distracted for a second." He insisted. He wasn't the one capable of breaking through that wall even if he was aware of it. But what he believed he could do is give them a momentary opening to do something to escape.

Hemlock nodded to Wren's direction and, wincing again as he struggled to keep up the shield and the facade of defense, he watched for a chance to strike back. The moment he saw it, he vanished in a flash, delivering a devastating uppercut to Garchomp's chin, aiming to knock it's eyes off the Snagems for just a moment. Acting the instant Hemlock disappeared, Wren took aim and fired three shots, sending wet clumps of mycelium foam flying toward Cynthia and her Pokemon. Two aimed at Cynthia, herself and one at Garchomp. The two flying toward Cynthia were intended to strike her Pokeball s, blocking them from her hands or to strike at least one of her hands and make grabbing another Pokeball harder. The one aimed at Garchomp intended to cover it's eyes. If any of the foam hit their targets, it would begin to send hyphae into their body immediately, leeching their moisture and nutrients to weaken them.

He hoped it hit Cynthia more, believing that if she were under the influence of the infamous Mister Mushroom that his foam would parasitize the spores within her. That just might allow him to purge them as it had done to much of the fungus he'd spent the last year working to clear out from Lentimas. Either of them being hit had a chance to give them some flexibility here, though, since the foam would begin to harden rapidly after contact, making removing it rather difficullt unless he chose to dispell it.

Amber let out an audible growl when the source of the noises came into view. Ah, so Cynthia wasn't just mad, she was suicidal. There was something seriously wrong with this picture, and she was determined to find out what it was. Right now, however, they had bigger problems to deal with: namely the Mega-evolved Garchomp that was currently hammering away at Poe's Protect shield. The Spiky Shield Wren had his Cacturne set up didn't seem to be doing much, and she had a way to help out with it. "Apologies, guys, but it's about to get a little cold," she said.

Taking a ball from her belt, she opened it to reveal Frost, her shiny Abomasnow. As soon as the Grass/Ice-type was in the open, snow kicked up, his ability Snow Warning kicking in. Amber decided to keep the Abomashow out of his ball, and took advantage of the snow by using Aurora Veil to boost the protective barrier. "Frost, if that Garchomp comes through the barrier, blast him with a Sheer Cold," she said, the dual type grunting in acknowledgement. While Amber didn't use him all that much, she had saved him from a very lonely life, so he was willing to help her however he could.

Spooky felt his way along the wall, noticing that Cynthia and Garchomp weren't really paying attention to him. This was his chance to try and help, to find a way out of this mess. It took a few minutes of poking around, but he found the weakness, a spot in the wall that wasn't Ebonite. Knowing that he had to let Amber know, he also knew that Cynthia was in his way, and he watched as Wren shot a few globs of foam at her and Garchomp. Wanting to help, he materialized right in front of her and used Confuse Ray, hoping to confuse her enough to allow the foam to hit before he quickly rose out of range of the foam so he didn't get hit by it.

Crystal would look ahead of her, eyes narrowing as she started to see some of the message ATHRA gave to the others. Looking behind her briefly, the psychic’s eyes would glow brighter for a second as she hefted the hammer up cautiously, relocating it to her shoulder before starting in to join the others. Her blue eyes would keep on the bricks surrounding her as she stepped, getting a similar feeling to Darts. She would be much more calm about this, however, as her current assumption leaned into the walls having eyes. Many eyes. Once she caught up to the others, she would look dead ahead at the words, like she was staring at the face of the person speaking. “Is the plan to assemble something, or maybe disassemble something," she asked quietly, fairly confident their new 'friend' could hear her despite her voliume. "Since you remind me of an Ultra Beast I’ve encountered a few times in Ultra Space, and its code name was Assembly.” She was taking a shot in the dark, but between the bricks, this thing greeting them, and how it reacted to the various stimuli, she had to assume this was at least somehow related to that Ultra Beast.

Getting a brief realization that her allies probably didn’t understand what she was referring to, she’d speak up again, “STAK would be a small reference to what I’m mentioning here.”

Into the fires. Deo was not sure what to do when she showed up. Plea? Beg? Grovel? No, she was not in a merciful mood. He was going to launch his pokemon when it got really cold. Seeing a chance to run, he launched out his psyduck. "Make her silent!" Nodding in agreeance, the psyduck used water gun ON Cynthia not to hurt her, but to make her not able to speak and command her pokemon. He then would pop out his cycli.... no too small of an area. His timing was off a little as he would notice the ground around her was wet. Out with the Shinx "light em up!" and with that a small spark to the wet ground and hoping the low amount was enough to stun, not kill her or her pokemon

Leslie would raise a hand as she heard the thing say it was time to begin. "I'm sorry, is your name an acronym or were you just making sure to spell it out clearly?" The hybrid asked, looking around cautiously as she spoke. Whatever this thing wanted to begin was not likely to be very fun for all four of them if it was something Ein had designed. "Is your name and what you wanna begin why you didn't immediately call us intruders and whack us?" Thats why she had been hoping it recognized them, some sort of independent system that had rebelled or something. It took all the motion, the fire fighting, and making sure to focus his senses on it, but Reno had managed to figure what the little sensation had been. It was almost like a Trick Room, but it appeared to be working inverse to what one would expect. Instead of reversing how kinetic energy you generated by your effort put in, it was reversing how much potential energy the things had in the vicinity of any minds within the space. "Everyone! Keep moving! Keep touching, keep adjusting things! Its like a Trick Room, but it works off of lack of movement!" Reno shouted, continuing his rush towards Ulla even as she seemed to be doing her best to hold still for the phone. But just running wasn't going to be enough to reach her before the gravity that was keying off her lack of movement might do some real damage. Thrusting his left hand towards the shelf that lined the hall, the slime appendage would immediately splinter into a web that attached itself to many of the books on the shelf. Giving a massive tug, he hoped to dislodge as many of the things as he could and drag them along behind him.

From his side, his Reuniclus would be hard at work doing similar, slapping paintings, scattering books, and shaking the shelves as he did his best to float alongside Reno. And in the main entrance, Nori the Finizen would give a little chirp before beginning to bounce around the front room and splash at the surrounding decor. Hopefully this all helped Reno as he coiled up and sprung forward, trying to knock Ulla over as soon as he was able to.

Sub winced as the Mega Garchomp came roaring and swinging, beating against Protect wall conjured up by Poe. Each impact from its Outrage was so powerful that he could feel the vibrations from the hits in the air itself, the man looking at the Protect nervously, no longer confident in its ability to keep threats at bay. There was only one Garchomp that could possibly be this strong and they had already encountered its trainer here, the very person they were fleeing from.

"Cynthia..." Sub hissed as the woman stepped forward, the Snagem leader meeting her with a glare. Just looking at this woman made him want to spit. "Has that ever worked? Telling people to just roll over and take it? I guess the kinky rumors about you were true after all, explains all the black you wear." The man shot back at the Sinnoh champion. As fun as it was to trade barbs with this self important 'champion' they had bigger problems to concern themselves with such as getting out of here. A more immediate concern however was how long Poe's Protect could hold up to Mega Garchomp's assault. Looking to Poe he saw the Sableye had fallen to one knee, palms held outward as he kept pumping his energy into the defenses. There was no way his Pokemon could keep this up much longer.

Watching his teammates make their move, Wren firing off some globs of fungus at both the dragon and its trainer with Deo attempting to spray and zap the champion. Sub would take note of the command Amber gave her Pokemon and watched as her Shuppet a ways behind Cynthia managed to partially pass through a wall, indicating it was not ebonite. Score, that was exactly they needed. Looking at Amber's Abomasnow he shivered slightly as the snow began to fall in the maze, deciding in that moment it would give Frost an opportunity to carry out its orders. "Head's up guys!" Sub shouted to get his teammates' attention so they would be aware of what was going to happen. "Poe, return!" He said as he recalled his Pokemon back to its ball causing the Protect to disappear along with Poe, thus giving Mega Garchomp freedom to come at them but also giving Frost the freedom to carry out its Sheer Cold.

Hoping Frost could at least buy him several seconds Sub would tape a few times on the touchscreen embedded in his Snag Machine and activated the Immunizer causing a cool blue bubble of energy to surround all of them, ever Cynthia and Mega Garchomp as it expanded a few feet beyond them. After that Sub took out another Pokeball, a Dive Ball. Looking down at the device for a brief second, as if to reconsider his actions, the man found in him the resolve in him to carry through with his plan. He didn't need to control this one, in fact he still really couldn't, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Tossing the ball in front of him so that it landed between the Mega Garchomp and the Snagems the ball would burst open in a watery splash of energy, a serpentine Pokemon materialize from the ball as it swayed around violently.

(I'm currently writing a mission just for this Shadow Gyarados capture. It is one of the Shadow Pokemon captured during the one year skip, however he decided to keep this one.)

"Gyraaa!" Roared the Shadow Gyarados as it appeared from the ball, its eyes almost completely red from pure rage, the shadow aura flaring up as the Immunizer made even unseen shadow auras visible. Sub knew he didn't need to give any command, not that it was likely to do what he said, the Shadow Gyarados he named Dirk would immediately target the biggest or most powerful creature it could detect which of course would be Mega Garchomp. With a snarl the Shadow Gyarados would attempt to slam into Mega Garchomp head first with Shadow Break, no concern for its own well being in that moment.

"Hey Cynthia! Is your Garchomp a purified former Shadow Pokemon? No? Well that's a damn shame. Did you know a Shadow Pokemon loses access to Mega Evolution? No? Well I guess it's a good thing I have this Immunizer running, would be a shame though if it suddenly turned off." Sub said as he held his Snag Machine up in the air, two fingers hovering over the touchscreen as he threatened to drop the Immunizer.

Speaking at a lower volume he addressed his teammates. "Spooky looks like they found an opening in the wall, get to it. I'll hold off Cynthia." He instructed them. He felt confident the champion wouldn't risk the safety of her most beloved Pokemon, wouldn't endanger it to become infected with the Shadow virus. If that were true if the others left the perimeter of the Immunizer she wouldn't dare give chase until she took care of Sub and his Shadow Gyarados.

[Group One]

"Ghh! Let him go!"

"Got them!"

As Cera tugged at Tristen and Squall managed to pierce his way through, she and Amaranth would brace themselves for the course the monstrosity was put on while Blizzard and Tristen got some semblance of a safer landing. The pungent scent of formaldehyde as the glass shattered were the first thing to hit them all, followed by the sight of an Aggron hybrid that was surely long dead before they ever got here.

"Another hybrid..." Trying to keep her mind off of this room was surely failing for Amaranth once she got a good look at the hybrid's remains, let alone the shattered tube near it. A home she still wasn't fond of being reunited with, nevermind the fragile-looking metals serving as a sign of what she could've ended up like in another time, if she hadn't been so useful as a regenerating energy source. With all the tubes she saw, surely there were many more where that one came from, almost all of them surely perished by now. "Where's that thing we were chasing?"

Before Cera could respond, they'd see it. A Greninja, of a sort. But the way it was mangled and forcibly mashed, the sac glowing and pulsing as it crawled over to the dead hybrid, the Ekans doubling as a tongue and chewing right through the flesh and the whole thing shifting to accomodate the new DNA. XD002 might've been Ein's so-called perfection of Project Genesis, but there was little mistaking what surely had to have been either a building block or a very desperate backup plan for it. Whatever the case, she froze up as she continued to stare at it, barely muttering what her mind was screaming after yet another reminder of a past she thought she was over. "...another one? why's there another one? Why... why why why why why-"

Sharpedo's position meant little more than being further away from the monstrosity now in plain sight, and he wasn't any more okay about this new, fresh horror that seared itself into his mind instantly. The panicked growls as he tried and failed to comprehend any of this continued, leading into an equally panicked Screech in lieu of any real idea of what to do about that which shall not be named.

Amaranth wouldn't be able to find the words to ask what Cera was going on about either, too caught up in the horrorific sights and fairly sure the only appropriate response was an overwhelming amount of fire. And then more fire, just to make sure it didn't get back up. Squall would be knocked out of the air as the Metal Burst arced and blasted him, bringing the channeler out of her panic enough to rush and break his fall. "Crap, Squall!" Not being a light bird, she'd end up on the ground for it. "Project or not, this thing needs to go!"|

[Group Four]

Sol would see more proof of his realization as the room seemed to gradually bring itself back together, but Reno's remark gave the final confirmation he was looking for. "So that's how," he remarked, opting for a personal vendetta against every painting and antique he saw, knocking any and all of them down with impunity as he kept going about the room and towards Ulla. Ein's tastes sucked anyway. "You heard him! Vamos, vamos, don't stop moving! Our way out should be somewhere!"

Ulla and Lucario kept holding on to the phone even though it was getting heavier and heavier. Lucario then heard Reno's realization as he looked down at his master. "You heard him we need to keep moving-" "N-No! We need to keep still! Don't you see? We can't hear her voice with all the distortion. How are we going to get any answers about-" Lucario nudged Ulla's shoulder. He knew what she was doing, she wanted to hear her dead mother's voice more. "Master you know the truth. She's gone. Not entirely though, because she still lives in you. Her channeling. You two will always have that bond. I can sense her's and your own aura dancing happily together within you. Now please...we got to move."

Ulla stood their quiet and merely nodded. "You're right. Thank you friend." She said as she unleashed a big boom of her own Fairy Channeling to knock photos around her. Lucario was a bit shocked to see this amount of channeling come out of her. "Master...you've been suppressing your channeling?" He said as he looked around at the massive amount of Fairy Energy filling the area. This was more Fairy energy that he's seen from her. "Yes. I'm still suppressing as we speak. This is only a fraction of what I can do." She said as she controlled her channeling to go towards the phone as it started to glow pink. She then made a bubble around it as she made an intense swirl start to break the phone. "Lucario. Run. I don't want to let this go, I don't want everyone to lose their hearing." He nodded as he made a mad dash towards Reno to break out of this Trick room. Ulla slowly was taking steps away from the room. Even though her channeling was helping to keep the phone from falling back on to the receiver. The gravity of it was still very strong. "How dare you play with my lack of memory of my parents..." She said under her breath as she took bigger steps backwards while knocking down anything she could.

Monique suddenly had her orders for how to move forward—and an explanation, not that it sank in in her current mental state. She started wrecking the room, joining with Sol as the group smashed paintings, had catfights with books, tossed copies of volumes like Scripting for Dummies: CGI, PHP, and Perl and The Ultimate Guide to Pickling and upended the sadly comfortable furniture. "Aniani! Keep moving, b***h!" she called out to her Primarina in a way that might make the Soloist Pokémon wonder what had gotten into her Trainer.

“I know!

Darksol88
Sharpedo's position meant little more than being further away from the monstrosity now in plain sight, and he wasn't any more okay about this new, fresh horror that seared itself into his mind instantly. The panicked growls as he tried and failed to comprehend any of this continued, leading into an equally panicked Screech in lieu of any real idea of what to do about that which shall not be named.

Not being a light bird, she'd end up on the ground for it. "Project or not, this thing needs to go!"

Being determined to bring down this distraction, the Imprison was more than a slight inconvenience. "Ptyah!" Ogerpon curses under her breath as she thrashes back and forth in the bonds of the Imprison, unable to do little more than watch as Type: Null runs off, presumably to try and find a way out of the room.

Luckily for Lucario, Sharpedo's Screech reaches the chimera first, the sound-based assault shredding the things sensitive eardrums, having developed in the quiet lab it was quite upset by the sonorous approach. "Gyaaaah!" It shrieks, stumbling backwards as the Aura fighter moves in to also put the hurt on, successfully. The bone strikes home several times, battering the Greninja monstrosity back and forth like a bop bag toy. It and the Ekans in its mouth hiss in unison as it tries to retreat from the rush, clearly becoming annoyed as its frog eyes narrow. It produces a retching sound in the back of its throat before puking up a narrow-looking Water Shuriken, crackling and sparkling with Tristen's attempts to free himself now transferred from the growth in the middle of its chest. The projectile spins in a blur of motion as it winds up and blasts it forward, intending for the momentum to carry Lucario across the room and out of its face.

Group Two:

Reno Vantas
Leslie would raise a hand as she heard the thing say it was time to begin. "I'm sorry, is your name an acronym or were you just making sure to spell it out clearly?" The hybrid asked, looking around cautiously as she spoke. Whatever this thing wanted to begin was not likely to be very fun for all four of them if it was something Ein had designed. "Is your name and what you wanna begin why you didn't immediately call us intruders and whack us?" Thats why she had been hoping it recognized them, some sort of independent system that had rebelled or something. Knowing the typical Snagem luck, it was just programmed to give a nice hello and make you feel safe for five seconds before you went into some torture.
Espeon_Commander

I AM. AUTOMATED. TACTICAL. HOSTILE. RESPONSE. APPARATUS. ATHRA. Comes the few word at a time response, answering Leslie's question first. I DO NOT. KNOW IF. YOU ARE. INTRUDERS. ARE YOU? I WAS. MADE BY. EIN WITH. THE PURPOSE. OF RESPONDING. TO INVASION. AND NEUTRALIZING. ARE WE. BEING INVADED? Whatever the intelligence behind this room was, there was an earnest honesty to the feeling of its questions. It had only lashed out at Leslie's hammer strike because it had been 'attacked first. It was strange that such a weapon hadn't been deployed against the Snagems the last time they were here, but maybe it was in early development, or maybe there was some kind of other issue? They had flown far in above this room, it's probable they were intended to go through here but it got bypassed entirely.

I ASSEMBLE. CUSTOM WARZONES. Comes the answer to Crystal's inquiry next, words popping up in front of both her and Leslie and Darts, in an inclusive effort to try and bring everyone in. WOULD YOU. LIKE A. DEMONSTRATION? Y/N?

Group Three:

DeoLux
DragonFang099

Cynthia would barely spare Deo more than a condescending glance as she easily sidesteps the Water Gun, her own personal physical conditioning on display as her legs allow her to gracefully dodge the projectile even in heels. The Shinx's spark as a result would do little more than send up a couple of sparks, igniting and lighting up the hallway as she continued her approach to her cornered prey. Up until a sudden Confuse Ray flashed her in the eyes, causing her to flinch backwards and throw her hand up to try and block the worst of it.

SubonicXP

DragonFang099

Requiem of Whyspers

The instant the barrier falls, Garchomp dashes forwards to try and make mincemeat of the front line only to be met with a Sucker Punch to the jaw, faster than it can react as the Cacturne blurs in to deliver the shot, the Mega's head snapping backwards in recoil. The Sheer Cold blows into Garchomp, sending a wave of freezing cold over the Dragon-type that was probably very uncomfortable, but certainly Cynthia ace monster's unyielding spirit kept it away from being anywhere near a One-Hit-KO. The Dragon's teeth gnash in anger, attempting to refocus and decide who nearest to unleash its rage on when the mycelium foam comes across, splashing its face and eyes, covering the main field of its vision, hardening and sealing them near shut as it soaks in. The Champion herself is also coated, unable to deal with the incoming projectile as the Confuse Ray has ensured she's going to take a shot. Once the foam coats her, she stands there for a few moments, dazed, before her face hardens back into a scowl, no sight of the parasitization that Wren has been hoping for as she wrenches and scrapes at it like glue, trying to get her non-dominant hand free from her coat. Her main hand being up from the Confuse Ray had kept one of her hands free, the other globs covering her Pokeballs as planned, but that didn't mean the other bits of gunk were comfortable setting into her skin. "These asinine distractions are just like you, Sub." She spits at the leader, ignoring the fact that he wasn't even the one who had launched them. "Trying to deflect responsibility onto your subordinates. Isn't that cute?"

SubonicXP

The sudden appearance of Sub's Gyarados puts an end to any trash talking, the confident face of the blonde trainer darkening for the first time as the Shadow Pokemon appeared. She was no fool, by this point in time Shadow Pokemon had emerged into common parlance enough to know that Sub wasn't joking. The Shadow Break hits home on the temporarily blinded Garchomp who lets out a confused howl as an unfamiliar elemental energy impacts it with its eyes sealed shut. Even as well-trained as it was, it had never had the opportunity to experience this type of an attack first-hand. Cynthia grinds her teeth, knowing Sub had her by the nose so-to-speak, but there was one way out of this and she was going to make the most of it before everyone got away. "Outrage." She commands grimly, her Mega letting out a pained scream as the combination of the pain of its temporary evolution reaches a fever pitch, azure fire shredding its muscles internally as it shoots the dracosteroid into its own muscles, blindly beginning to attack and savage the body that had just impacted it with its scythe appendages, wrestling expertly despite not being able to see its foe, the result of endless championship battles.

This was going to be as good of a window as the Snagems were going to get, Cynthia couldn't get her Garchomp shadowified so the best route was to carve straight through the thing and knock it out, before returning to attacking them, considering her other Pokemon had been temporarily sealed away. If they wanted to get through that false wall they would need to rely on Sub to buy them enough time, and hurry.

Group Four:

Reno Vantas

Monique suddenly had her orders for how to move forward—and an explanation, not that it sank in in her current mental state. "Aniani! Keep moving, b***h!" she called out to her Primarina in a way that might make the Soloist Pokémon wonder what had gotten into her Trainer.

Reno and Sol seemed to have the right of it, and with the other Snagems joining in the room was beginning to behave very, very bizarrely. As they smashed and disorganized the space they were in the walls would begin warping, tearing, the wallpaper ripping itself off the wall as the motion seemed to agitate everything. The distance that had been growing between themselves all shrinking and distorting as they have unraveled the puzzle of the room they had found themselves in, destroying and smashing everything they could get their hands on while keeping themselves moving seeming to be the key to tearing through the illusion. Chaos erupts everywhere, bookshelves fly off the ground and smash into the ceiling, the phone rings once, feebly, and then warps in on itself like a singularity. Everything was going crazier, crazier, crazier, then all of a sudden with a little 'pop' they would find themselves inside a much wider room than what the cozy study had looked, unadorned except for a singular familiar-looking phone on a table in front of them all.

Across, on the other side of the plain concrete square they were in, was a very scared and sweaty-looking party of scientists and adventurers, equipped in the similar fashion to those they had encountered in the base camp earlier. They looked like they were playing freeze tag with how still they were, barely blinking. In between the two groups was a pair of now-KO'd Pokemon gasping and wheezing, the control collars on their neck explaining how they had been coerced into serving as room guards - an exhausted Slowbro and Oranguru clearly the source of the distortions, trained to create and diffuse the potential energy of both rooms, one being necessary to stay completely still, the other being necessary to be in constant motion. Any more hesitancy and the Snagems would have been torn apart by their own inaction.

One of the scientists, an older woman, is clutching the receiver like she can't believe what she just witnessed. ...Or is witnessing. "Ulla?" She asks, her face softening as she realizes that the danger of the room they had been trapped in has passed for the moment... and she's now face to face with her daughter. "How on earth did you get in here?" Once you knew the relation, it was hard not to see the similarities. This was, without a doubt, Ulla's mother in the flesh.

The pace was getting more frenetic as the room seemed to warp. Aniani was moving constantly, the space being turned into a disaster area as the Snagems worked feverishly. It seemed like the whole room was rippling in a dizzying fashion, responding to the perpetual motion machine that Reno, Sol, and the others were responding to.

And then it broke. The bookshelves flew off. The phone rang. And pop.

Monique staggered back, taking in the new space. It was a large and plain volume, far larger than the cozy study they had entered, reminding her somewhat of the Super Training Room with all the equipment off except the walls were plainer than a freshly built warehouse awaiting an occupant. Two Pokémon lay fainted in the middle. All that was in their area was a table and the receiver.

And all that was in their area was another receiver and a battery of scientists and adventurers. They looked like they were real. They might look back and see a young woman who might as well have stepped right out of their KlinkTot feed, looking for all the world like another pretty influencer, and her Primarina, similarly shocked, looking around with equal nervousness as she tried to process the new surroundings. "Riiiii..." Aniani's voice echoed off the walls, demonstrating just how much space there was as it bounced off the concrete and drywall.

At the table was an older woman who clearly knew at least one person in their party. Ulla. "You mean..." She looked between the two of them as she talked across the room. Even b***h Deluxe could sense this wasn't her moment to talk... Yet.

“No, we are not being invaded,” the catwoman would answer, looking at the others. “Lost, maybe, but not invading.” Crystal took a deep breath to attempt to calm her nerves, though this “AI”s response to her question unnerved her somewhat. Custom warzones? Her gaze went up to the ceiling, starting to get a potential idea of what could happen. All of the cube pillars could come up to wall them off, keep them from escaping. Then, either a series of weapons, these cubes built into a Stakataka, or a proper Stakataka might emerge to try and kill them. She doubted there was any sort of mercy settings once even a demonstration was activated, especially since this was Ein’s madhouse.

However, there were a few questions that shuffled around about ATHRA in her head still. “Uh…I think we’ll pass on the demonstration, thanks,” she would reply, raising her hand and shaking her head. While there was a small thought in her head that wanted to fight and see what this thing had to give, none of them were probably in a position to fight. Best to leave that thought where it was. “Though, is it possible you could maybe answer a couple more questions? Like, do you know what’s behind the doors, and… how much do you know about the Ultra Beast Stakataka?”
