“Uh, ma’am! Wait a moment, please! Is there any way my Charizard could give you a lift and we keep you company as well? You’d have to direct us to Kitakami Hall, but it would almost certainly be faster than just walking by yourself? That way you could hopefully get there with more time to enjoy the festival! And don’t mind his appearance, he’s really rather nice.” Hopefully a Black Charizard wasn’t going to freak her out. She never thought of him as a bad omen, but she wasn’t so sure how some of these smaller, out of the way places would react. Superstitions and all.

The old lady grew a smile as Crystal offered her to ride to Kitakami Hall on the back of her dragon, giving the much younger woman (Or at least younger from her perspective, how old was Crystal anyways? Ultra Space is weird.) a courteous bow with her palms pressed together. "Bless the Three! Thank you so much young lady! You are a Loyal One!" She said, bowing multiple times in succession. Once she was finished showering Crystal with thank and praise she would approach the strange dragon, leery of it at first but then found the courage to stroke the dragon's neck, finding further courage to eventually pet the Charizard as if it were a house Meowth. Looks like she had been around fierce looking Pokemon before. "And thank you as well!" She thanks the dragon in advanced.

Eventually she would get up on the Charizard's back, requiring assistance from Crystal, and once Crystal was ready they would fly up into the sky, soaring over the small area that made up Kitakami. The old woman would tell Crystal where to go who would then command the Charizard. As they flew she would point things out to Crystal, one of the first things being Oni Mountain and as they caught a flash of light from the top she would point out it was the sun reflecting off the Crystal Pool at the top, where legend says you can commune with the departed there. She would also point out other places like her home, the rice fields her daddy used to work, and the Timeless Woods where she claims a fierce monster, separate from the ogre, comes to life on nights with a full moons of which she warned Crystal away from the forest tomorrow night as it would be a full moon then.

It wouldn't take long before Kitakami Hall came into view, the old lady pointing it out to Crystal. As they flew towards that direction they would begin to descend, coming in for a gentle landing, Crystal able to spot the gathering of people halfway up the path to Kitakami Hall, the picnic of Snagems. Maybe she could recognize at the very least Freth from up here, the hybrid no doubt the only purple individual around.

Once they landed the old woman would require assistance to get down and once on her feet would bow to Crystal and her Pokemon again, this time far more times. "Thank you so much, Loyal One! I am in your debt. If you are attending the festival tonight I will find you and repay the favor. Thank you again! Please, enjoy our homeland!" And with that said the woman would give Crystal a wave and walk off, leaving the hybrid to her own devices once more.

Questions he didn't have an answer for yet. And a remark for someone referred to as 'him' in a tone that suggested derision. "When are you from is a better question," he finally spoke up. "I was staring at crystals in Kitakami and then... this," he said, gesturing before going wide-eyed. Wait, he actually made it? He was battling for Championship? Or would be? He couldn't blame the reaction if so; it was the sort of timing he wasn't a stranger to now. But he felt like he shouldn't ask, lest he sabotage himself now and later. "And who's him?" He'd ask instead. Whoever he was, if it related to tricks and something to worry about, it felt important. But unlikely to learn about; he knew that he knew that he knew that there was equally good reason for not disclosing anything fully.

"I'm from the year 20XX, that's when- wait, Kitakami? It's your first time visiting there, isn't it?" Future Aden answered and began to say, the man looking around the blank white area for a bit as if trying to recall a memory but failing to do so. "...I don't remember this happening then. I remember visit Kitakami and the Crystal Pool, I was so excited at the prospects of the pool, the folklore around it and the possibility of...well, you're me, you know already what we were thinking." The man said as he locked eyes with his past self, their mind becoming one in that moment, they both knew exactly what they were excited about when it came to the Crystal Pool.

"Except, for me, nothing happened...it was just a pool of water with some pretty crystals in it. I was so disappointed, dejected. So many strange things had happened to us up until this point so I was ready to believe in anything, the legends having not failed me before, until the Crystal Pool that was..." He continued, looking down at his feet. "...we wanted to see her again, didn't we?" The man said, looking back at his younger self for reassurance that his memory hadn't failed him. "That's why we wanted to go see the Crystal Pool so bad, isn't it? It started off as another attempt at vacation but the moment we heard the stories about the pool we just had to check it out...say, where is Aile? She went with you, didn't she?" Future Aden asked.

After looking around to see if anyone else was here, and failing to find anyone, Future Aden realized he failed to answer another question and sighed. "I don't think I should tell you about him. You'll meet him in time. For now don't worry about it. You'll be spending a lot of time thinking about him once you do so for now try and enjoy the time you have right now." He said, waving off the question.

The pair would stand there for awhile, either with Aden asking more questions or just in silence, unaware of what else to do and how to get out of here. That was until something began to glow in Future Aden's pocket. "Hm? What's- my Tera Orb is glowing." Future Aden said to himself as he took the orb out and stared at it for awhile, admiring the glow, is face turning from confusion to sudden understanding. "I see..." He said, giving a little nod as he looked from the orb and to Present Aden. "...I guess I'm suppose to give this to you. Here, take it." He said, holding out the Tera Orb for his younger self to take. "It means a lot to me but apparently you're going to need it a lot more than I do."

Tristen couldn’t help but to sweatdrop as the tiny Pokémon slowly, gradually started to violate Darts in ways that only it could. Once Darts managed to get a hand on this thing and start questioning it, Tristen couldn’t help but to headtilt, staring in confusion at first, only to slowly go to deadpan when Darts asked the kid about giving the Pokémon money. “I don’t have change.” he said, emphasizing. The kid did have money, namely money to get through the trip, just nothing as far as coins or anything of that sort. And he doubted that the few academy league points that he had, which wasn’t tangible to begin with, would be accepted either. “Either way, where would you put it even if either one of us did? You have no chest.” Tristen then said to the Gimmighoul, which such a revelation honestly baffled Tristen. There was apparently a lot he needed to learn about the likes of a Gimmighoul. “I mean…what were you going to do if you managed to get that coin out of the water? Constantly carry it?”

"Gimmi!" The little Pokemon confirmed, nodding its head as it felt it was up to the task.

"You don't have bus tokens, bottle caps, loose change? What is the youth doing nowadays?" Darts questions, half to Tristen and half out loud as he enters his old man phase. "Cripes, 'm sounding like Teacher out here... Listen," He returns his attention to the Pokemon in his grip. "What this is boiling down to is that NEITHER of us have any money for you. And I don't think diving into the river to try an underwater retrieval is going to do you any good, especially for just one coin. So, with that said, I'd like to make you a proposal."

"Gimmi...." Go on, it said, golden eyes narrowing as it looked at the Giratina hybrid, still snug in the hybrid's grip.

"You don't have a chest, we don't have any money. I'm not cutting off my hands." He interrupts a chorus of clinking squeaks from the Ghost, closing his eyes as the temptation to utilize Calm Mind grows and grows. "But. If you come with me, maybe we can find something that will suit you as a chest, find your original chest and in the MEANTIME, any suitable currency or valuables can find their way into your hands. Do we have a deal?" The Gimmighoul ponders the offer for a couple minutes, tapping its chin lightly with one of its arms.

"Gimmi?"

"Sure, that sounds fine. I can live with that."

"Gim, Gimmi." It agrees finally, extending a little arm for Darts to let go of it with one hand and shake, the accord finally sealed. He pulls an Ultra Ball out of his jacket pocket, the garment almost reluctantly rolling the thing into his hand as if to say 'don't let that thing prod me again'. And proffers it to the little Pokemon now standing in the palm of his hand. It taps the capsule with its antenna, clicking it open and one... two... three... Ding! Darts caught a Gimmighoul!

He pockets the ball, letting out an enormous sigh of relief as he turns back to his Manectric companion, the pair of them beginning to head over to join the group at the picnic ahead. "Boy for our sake..." The gambler says, rubbing the back of his head. "I hope SOMEBODY has pocket change." He neglected to mention, the last thing the Gimmighoul had asked for was just that. Any and all pocket change they came across was its property. Here's hoping Freth had some.

“…why are you getting upset at me!?” Tristen asked in a huff. As far as what he was concerned, given that he generally ran on a tight budget anyways at the academy. Every last bit of change he had went towards something. And with the money he brought on this trip, he was saving it as a just in case. Maybe later tonight, he’d have something, but even then. Tristen then continued to watch the events transpire, still a bit miffed then suddenly stared deadpan at the Giratina hybrid as he insinuated that everyone was going to contribute to getting money for a Pokémon they knew nothing about. Suddenly, flashbacks of dealing with the Hoopa started to come forth…and it wasn’t exactly good. “Darts, I’m not sure if anyone is going to go along with that so much. Why did you agree to do that for the Gimmighoul?” To say the least, Tristen was absolutely baffled as to what in the world goes through this hybrid’s head.

Why did you agree to do that for the Gimmighoul?” To say the least, Tristen was absolutely baffled as to what in the world goes through this hybrid’s head.

"Tristen, some day you're going to learn it's better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission." Darts advises him, raising one finger sagely as they make their way over to the picnic, heading up the pathway of Revelers Road. Kitakami Hall was coming up in front of them, the people they had seen in the town earlier in the day running to and fro to set up the booths and bringing in the produce and ingredients for the festivities. "And in this case... Sometimes you have to ask neither and just roll with the punches. This little guy," He taps the ball he was still carrying in his hand with the tips of his fingers. "Was very clearly lost, alone, and looking for guidance. It was willing to dive to its death just to give itself some purpose." And boy, elements of that hit home to the Giratina hybrid. "If we left it there, no matter what I told it, it was going to dive in that river over a measley five Pokedollar coin. And tell me kid, do you think that's a fair cost for a life?"

SubonicXP
Once Darts settled his issue with the Gimmighoul he would implore the group to keep moving, the Dark One leading the pack up the Revelers Road the rest of the way, soon arriving at a large circular clearing halfway up the hill which Kitakami Hall was perched on, Sub noting the stone steps on the other side of the clearing. "Say, we got some time before the festival starts so why don't we have a picnic here, it looks as good as any place. In fact...GRAY?" Sub began to say, calling out to his SNAG.

"Before anyone asks...yes, I planned this." Sub said with a smile as he sat down on the blanket and went about preparing his sandwich. "All our vacations end up in disaster so I was determined to make this one at least decent. Or at the vary least have one decent thing happen so I thought to myself what would be the easiest and least risky thing to do? Have a picnic. Please we have about two hours before dark so I figured this would be the perfect time to just chill with friends and decompress. Just...relax." He explained, motioning at the blanket with a butter knife soon after. "Please, sit." He implored his friends.

[Kitakami Hall]
Amaranth's wandering around and note-taking about Kitakami had found her back at Kitakami Hall eventually, looking up from her SNAG when she spotted several teammates at a simple picnic, almost quaint compared to how things seemed to go for everyone in general. With Sub's greeting, she'd offer one of her own and went to join them. "Hey, thanks," she spoke up as she'd sit down near the others. "...ooh, good call on the spread, some different stuff from what's around Mesagoza." She wouldn't take long before starting to get a sandwich prepared, curious about what Freth asked. "Er.... let me second that question? I've been so focused elsewhere that I haven't thought much about things after the incident last month."
TerashiLeonGoken
Speaking of, Keiko wasn't in Paldea at all past the original vacation segment that got cut short, so she had no idea what Darts and Freth were talking about. She didn't seem to react to Gimmighoul, so I decided not to intervent in Darts and Tristen's quest to help it. We'd stick with Sub for the time being.
MoniqueBrie
...Or could she? She round the corner and saw several Snagems picnicking in a clearing along the road. There were sandwiches and tablecloths and... "Where did all this come from? What is this, Paldea?" she asked, stopping by. There were people she knew in her classes that all they talked about was making picnic food. They were crazy enough to be chatting about recipes and KlinkTot creators seemingly every moment before class. "Anyway, uhh... I caught a Pokémon our Pokédex has no information on!"

The pair of them arrive at the set of steps where everyone was enjoying what looked like kind of a spread - sandwiches aplenty. "I just caught a Pokemon that Tristen had no information on, too!" Darts chimes in, answering Monique's call. "Well that's not technically true.... he knew it was a Ghost-type." He gives Tristen a facetious wink as they make their way to the rest of the team lounging around.

For his part, the gambler makes himself up a sandwich and grabs a Soda Pop, figuring it was low enough in caffeine to not trip his coffee addiction but also... it was a festival. Couple of bubbles couldn't hurt. He finds himself a comfortable position to lean, munching on his combination of meat, cheese, and mayo. He cracks the glass bottled drink with a hiss of carbonation, digging his gilt nail underneath the cap to pop it off without the help of a bottle opener. As he drinks, he notes the sign - his head tilting slightly as he takes it in. "Hey Sub," He asks, mouth half full still of sandwich even as he tries to gulp down the cream soda. "What do you make of this?"

The ogre possessed four mysterious, glimmering masks.

It is said that depending on the mask the ogre donned, the powers of its cudgel would change.

When wearing the teal mask, it could bring life back into withered greenery around it.

When wearing the crimson mask, it could turn a candle's flame into a raging inferno.

When wearing the blue mask, it could stop the very flow of a river.

When wearing the ashen gray mask, it could easily break the hardest stone in two.

Before the Loyal Three fell, they wrested away three of the ogre's masks, greatly weakening it.

"I'm ready when you guys are," she said, offering an apple to each of them.

Clare watched as Rachel walked off with her basket of apples, setting it with the others and retrieving the pay she'd been promised, apparently, before she returned only a few short minutes later. When the girl announced she was ready to go and offered them an apple, Clare accepted it graciously. "Why thank you!" They responded, taking the apple in their one hand before pulling out their pamphlet of Kitakami and looking at the map that had been included of the small area they were meant to be staying. "It looks like the path to the Crystal Pool will take us back through town and past the festival grounds. So we can see where everything will be on the way there!" They announced to the others a bit excitedly. They couldn't remember ever having gone to a festival before so this was going to be a brand new experience for them. Even with some of their memories returning, none of them were of truly fun times like they felt this would be.

Taking their first steps down the path, they would decided if everyone else was keeping a companion out of their ball, that they should as well. Besides, they had a baby that was likely going to need quite a bit of attention for a little while. Grabbing the Pokeball containing their newest companion as they walked, the hybrid released their Spoink. "Grunty! Want to go for a walk with me?" They asked the little Bounce Pokemon.

"Spoi-oink!" Gruntilda replied as she bounced, arms waving about excitedly. She tilted her head slightly upon realizing they had company and then panicked momentarily as her pearl became unbalanced, springing about wildly for a several seconds as she rebalanced it, sighing as she bounced slowly in place afterward.

"Careful, there." Clare told her, stepping over and making sure her pearl was properly balanced as she bounced in place. Once Gruntilda was safely balanced again, Clare gently urged them to continue on and began walking the path once more. It wouldn't take long to pass through town, given how small it was, but on the East side of town, as the group began to cross the bridge over the winding river that cut through the area, Clare took note of something that seemed a bit peculiar: There was another group of Snagems nearby that appeared to be having a picnic. "Oh! I didn't know there were plans for a picnic... I wonder if everyone's invited or if it's a special occasion for someone?" They wondered aloud, pointing it out to the other. "Did either of you hear anything about it?" They'd ask of Rachel and Tsuki, confused and momentarily wondering if they had been left out.

Tristen stared for a moment and it started to click, one thing after another. It was a lie to placate the tiny Pokémon, only to try to save this Pokémon from itself. No amount of money was worth its life drowning over, which one would have thought was common sense, but apparently it wasn’t common enough. In fact, it was that kind of sense the Gimmighoul lacked before Darts stopped it. Even if no one would have forked over money for this thing, it was the matter that the Gimmighoul was still alive to see another day and hopefully can learn better than risking its neck for mere pocket change. Something that Tristen realized that Darts was going to probably make sure that Gimmighoul learned one way or another. “…oh…” Tristen said, a little sheepishly. Tristen started to realize for all his interactions thus far, both in Snagem and around the academy, he still has a while to go before he picked up on nuance. Under all that gold and draconic swagger, there was…something else there that reminded the Manetric hybrid why Darts was in fact one of the ones he could call upon.

Tristen was a little silent when he followed Darts back to the others and even with the Giratina hybrid’s ribbing, he didn’t react much to it, still utterly astounded over Darts. As Tristen sat back down at the table, the demeanor wasn’t lost on Freth. “What’s wrong with you?” Freth asked, turning away from her Absol for a second.

“Nothing…just…” he glanced back at Darts for barely a second as he was distracted with the Kitakami sign then back towards towards Freth. “…realizing I got a lot more to learn than just what’s in a text book. I mean I knew that already, but…”

“More than you thought? I get it. Say no more.” Freth said, going back to her Absol. While she missed out on the whole conversation between Tristen and Darts, this could be just one of those things that can be chalked up to not having that much of a social life outside of Snagem until only recently, something hopefully the academy can get Tristen, if albeit in an indirect way. The people that he’d meet and being on his own without having a Articuno hybrid being that much of a helicopter father.

It had been some time of practicing for Leslie and Cera, mostly trying to help Cera figure out how she was going to precisely ice up and drift a Lapras across the grass. Which had certainly resulted in a good number of rollovers when the thing overshot the ice patch and immediately hit a lot more traction. It was hard to say if they had much practice with the collection and defense of the berries for the actual event but it at least seemed like Cera would be able to manage some sort of movement when the time came. And Leslie had managed to solve her own issue that she had discovered when first attempting to pop balloons. Namely, that while her Onix plowing directly into the balloons made it easy to collect the berries, using her hammer to pop them was less certain to succeed. Mostly because it seemed to result a lot of times in Leslie slamming the berry like a fastball and sending it streaking through the field. Which...potentially useful for some things but certainly not for points collection.

Either way, hunger had started to affect the performance and had resulted in a sharp increase in Leslie's line drive hits. So she was back towards the hall to scan the food stalls when she saw the Snagem picnic. Drifting her way over, she would be halfway through sandwich construction when she heard Darts discussing the sign that he was apparently reading. And while she might be content to leave as a passive listen, the word cudgel managed to keep her attention enough to listen and begin digesting the story even before she set about digesting her sandwich. "...is that the Ogre the whole Orge Oustin' thing is inspired by?" She questioned, casually taking a small bite of the sandwich as she began to examine the sign as well.

Demon Wing would look at the elderly woman skeptically at first, but began to relax as she stroked him, a small grin creeping onto his face. The Charizard would help as much as Crystal did in getting her on his back, with Crystal trying to fake her way onto Demon Wing’s back. She would create a small light platform, as small as she could make and still be able to sit on it, as discreetly as she could and sat behind her new friend, doing her best to keep up with Demon Wing at the correct pace once he took off.

She’d direct Demon Wing to where they needed to go, then listened to the woman as she explained the notable landmarks. The Crystal Pool was interesting if it was true, and she mildly wondered who she’d see, or wish to see, if she went up there. She’d make a small note of the rice fields, (didn’t they pass some of them as they came in?) and a larger note of the monster in the Timeless Woods. She didn’t have any plans to enter the forest, but would still make a note of the full moon beast.

As they came in towards Kitakami Hall, she’d note the gathering of people, with Freth standing out like a sore thumb. She thought she recognized some of the other Snagems, too, so that might not be a bad idea to aim in that area. And if Darts happened to be there, well, she could do her best to ignore him. She didn’t think she saw him, but odds were there…

As soon as they landed and helped the old woman off of Demon Wing’s back(along with Crystal quickly breaking the small platform), the Charizard would stand up straight again and stretch, glad to have the extra weight off of him. It had been long enough that he had forgotten how heavy a human could be on his back. Apolla at most wasn’t too heavy, and he carried her in his arms as much as his back, usually. Crystal patted him as the hybrid was showered in praise from the elderly woman again. She would bow deeply to her in response, hands clasped together by her stomach. “Please, you were quite kind in sharing part of your offering to the Loyal Three. This was just repaying your kindness. I can’t wait to see you at the festival again, though!” With a wave of her own, she’d start walking in the direction she was pretty sure she saw the others, Demon Wing following close behind.

"Yeah, it is," Aden answered to his future self. He'd look around himself, not really sure how to handle the whole 'seeing and conversing with your future self thing' now that things had calmed down. He had so many other questions in mind too, unsure where to start and how long this might last. The prospect of what might come next, how things went after his recent and to-his-future's distant past... he was alive, right? He didn't just end up falling into the pool and drowning and this was it, right? In a brief panic, he'd look around and feel his arms and stomach, unsure if he could properly confirm that question. Deciding that it'd be a problem he couldn't sort out now, he'd go back to thinking on what else he could hope to ask...

Only to hear his future self had no recollection of this event. Crap. That meant he wouldn't either. But much as he wanted to curse some weird occurrence or some sort of time loop, maybe asking about anything he'd learn eventually was a poor idea. Maybe... maybe he needed a bit of guidance. Or reassurance. Something. "How there's tales that gazing into the water lets you meet those who passed on... of course I- we couldn't ignore the chance that it might be true. We never got a chance to tell her goodbye either," he added, sighing and conceding that he was right about himself. Themselves. ...maybe better not to think too hard about it. "Even just a vague reflection would've been something. Though, I guess something did happen, even if we probably won't remember any of it- crap!"

Immediately, he looked around again to confirm that Aile was indeed not present. "She did, yeah. Probably gave her a scare, too." He was pretty sure he didn't time travel... did he? Could he, for that matter? He knew the state he'd ended up in, his future self probably remembered it too. Either way, he was here and she wasn't and wherever- or whenever- he was now, it was probably safe to say there'd be concerns. "Not like we could've warned her about, er, this, though." He couldn't blame himself for opting to keep himself out of the loop about him, whoever he was. Even without the reason, or recollection being unlikely, some things were best left to be discovered naturally. He'd have to try somehow to remember to be the same way in the event he'd be doing the same as his future self. Nevermind the obvious situation.

Much as he wanted to ask more, learn what he could, nothing else came to mind in a way he could put to words. Aside from one thing. "...do we see her again?" Figuring he wouldn't remember the answer, maybe it didn't hurt to ask. He wasn't sure how to get out of here, but fearing his future self didn't either, he was more afraid to ask.

He wasn't too surprised at the current lack of an answer in response, curious at the glowing orb his future self took out. "That's... one of those orbs we saw some students at the academy have, right?" He couldn't help admiring the glow himself, reminded of the glowing crystals of the pool just moments prior. "I shouldn't ask how you came across it, but- er." Stunned silent instead, Aden's mind wanted to break in that moment. He certainly didn't have a Tera Orb before now, except now he did, but then how would he have it in the future to give to himself in the first place-

"...better question," he'd say after taking a moment to recollect himself and try not thinking about the implications, his hands moving on their own to take it. "Don't you need this too? Not that I'm not thankful, just. You know, the battle?"

[Crystal Pool]

Aile bright her attention back to Aden from her watch to keep an eye out for cryptid Pokémon, noticing that he was getting more and more still, to the point of appearing like a statue. “Aden? Aden!” The woman would go back and forth between Aden and the crystals in the lake, noting that this behavior didn’t start until he started getting a good look at them. Deciding to shift herself to block Aden’s view, she’d wave her hands in his face, starting to panic a little as he continued to be unmoving. “If I had a coin for every time, something happened when I was alone with you, I’d have two… which is odd that it happened twice, in rather short order. Come on Aden, snap out of it!” She’d take another look back at the crystals before coming back to Aden, trying to shake his shoulder with her sand arm. If this was something that could somehow be passed on with touch, maybe her prosthetic arm could bypass it. Did those crystals have this sort of ability in general, or did they just decide to go to a place where they reacted like this?

As Aile touched Aden's shoulder a very quick and subtle shimmer of green energy would come from the man's shoulder. As Aile shook Aden a dense fog would begin to roll in and quickly gather around her feet, soon covering the enter ground around them in a thicket cool blanket. Aile would no doubt quickly register the fog but would also note it was rising, the fog rapidly rising from the ground up until completely engulfing the two of them. The woman would then blink at some point after the fog consumed them and the next thing she knew she was staring at a pure white expanse of nothing, the mountain top having completely disappeared, even the 'ground' she stood on was pure white nothingness. Aden was gone as well, leaving her alone.

"What is this...?" A voice called out from somewhere in the empty void. "You, what is this? Who are you?" The voice spoke again, evidentially having spotted Aile, the woman now seeing a vague shadow directly in front of her, the shadow growing in size and becoming more discernible as the owner of the voice approached her. "Ah, I see, you're one of our kind. Peace be upon you." The voice said and now stepping out of the white nothing came another woman, dressed in a long robe, scarf wrapping her skull, a piece of fabric covering her nose and below, and another long piece of silk fabric draped over her head as well. With all the many layers of fabric this woman was wearing the only piece of her actual body Aile could actually see were her eyes which were a beautiful bright green color. The most interesting thing however was her staff, near identical to the one Aile possesses, or rather the form her 'arm' once took, what she thought to be her artifact's natural state.

"Tell me, sister, what is this place? How or rather why are we here? For what reason has the Mighty brought us here? Wherever here is..." She asked Aile as she continued to look around, confused. After not finding anything else to look at she focused on Aile, looking her up and down a minute before speaking again. "...your clothes, they are...immodest...strange...what land do you call home? You possess the mark of a sister but you certainly do not dress like one."

While Aden was gone to Aile, so too was Aile gone to Aden - leaving him alone in his Crystal Pool visions. He had however, asked a question. Two, in fact:

Darksol88
Much as he wanted to ask more, learn what he could, nothing else came to mind in a way he could put to words. Aside from one thing. "...do we see her again?" Figuring he wouldn't remember the answer, maybe it didn't hurt to ask. He wasn't sure how to get out of here, but fearing his future self didn't either, he was more afraid to ask.

"...better question," he'd say after taking a moment to recollect himself and try not thinking about the implications, his hands moving on their own to take it. "Don't you need this too? Not that I'm not thankful, just. You know, the battle?"

Aden's future self would tremble, not like a shiver that runs through your body trying to get itself warm from the cold. But like a television set coming in and out of focus. Hazy and wavy like an unexpected sixth broadcast channel on a set that usually received five. He does not respond, the vision fading into the mists of time as quickly as it had come and blowing away to dust, leaving Aden with his prize of the Tera Orb thumping a steady heartbeat of energy in his hands. Surely he could feel the immense pulse of power coming from the crystal with each and every second he held it.

"Now when you say her..." Another voice, unfamiliar to Aden this time, comes floating over his shoulder with a chummy sort of tone. "I get the sense you aren't referring to just your friends in Snagem." A man, dressed in garments of blue and gold, with a jaunty hat to match, and a white smock on the front comes ambling into Aden's view, a calm and friendly smile on his face as he waves to the young man in front of him. He adjusts the massive backpack on his shoulders as he does so, taking it off to set it on whatever was serving as the floor of this blindingly white void. "Hello there, I can tell just by looking at you that you're quite the character." His smile never wavers as he brushes a little dust off the front of his smock, the golden symbols embroidered into it shining a little in the light. "I'm Volo of the Ginkgo Guild, the go-to choice for any of your mercantile needs here... er... I guess the only choice for mercantile needs at the moment, haha..." A slight sweatdrop accompanies his somewhat lame joke, trailing off as he rubs the back of his head. His tone is earnest and warm however as he continues:

"But, if I heard you correctly you had a couple of questions, and a couple of things you needed. And, as a merchant, I can't help myself when I see a prospective customer. ESPECIALLY when I'm in need of a little help myself." Volo continues, "See, I thought I recognized the girl you came into the cave with, even though WE'VE never technically met. I don't know if you realize this, but some time back some of the group that you call Team Snagem warped through time and space - something you're familiar with - to come back to my time, to the region that was once called Hisui. They were trapped outside of their own reality and time, bound to be stuck there for all eternity until a certain part of your team, if I'm not misremembering he was named Darts, managed to harness the powers of the dark lord Giratina through the use of the Red Chain and hurled the bunch through space and time, bringing them back to your world."

The merchant pauses, tapping one finger on the side of his chin as he paces back and forth, unburdened by the bag on his back for once. "However, while the story worked out as well as it could have for the people on your side of things, I can't very well say the same thing for me." A sad smile replaces the earnest one from before, as Volo adjusts his cap to hide his eyes a little, trying to shade his sadness from Aden. "Because I was so close to the rift while helping your team when the transportation happened, I got sucked here, into this.... whatever you want to call it." He looks up, his sadness gone as he frowns, waving around at their surroundings. "This in-between space." That seemed to satisfy the Ginkgo guildsman's need for a term and he nods, turning back to Aden, a bit of a business-like air about him as he halts his pacing.

"And that, I can promise you, has NOT been fun for me. No customers, no conversation..." Volo shakes his head back and forth, his hair and hat flopping lightly. "But when I saw YOU and the other Snagem show up, I knew I finally had an opportunity. I couldn't talk to her, she didn't have the right sensitivity for it. You, however, do. And with you guys being heroes and all, I thought I would take my best shot." He smiles earnestly again, retrieving his knapsack from the shining white surface they were standing on to throw it over his shoulders. The way he handled his wares was with such care and grace, a true professional at his craft if ever there was one, making sure to not jostle a single thing out of place even with the massive effort it took for him to sling it onto his back.

"Like I said earlier though, I am a merchant. And I know the deal, people don't do things for free." Volo acknowledges, turning back to Aden now that he's got his belongings back in order. "You WANT two things right now - you want to know about a certain someone, and I don't mean your friend back in the cave. And you want to get out of here. Luckily for you..." The merchant's head tilts back a little as he looks slightly coy for the first time, a light gleam in his eyes even as his expression doesn't shift at all, no warmth lost in his smile. "I happen to know exactly what's going on with the person you seek most. Additionally, I also know how to get out of here. I just need one thing in return from you."

I looked at Sub and his picnic with a bit of confusion. Had it been that long? It felt like we left the hotel a little while ago, and it was morning, then. Was it winter in Kitakami, or something? I tried to ponder the reason, but shortly gave up and chalked it up to my being scatter brained. By the time I let that thought go, Keiko was already sat down with a sandwich in her mouth, using her free hand to pat the spot on the bench next to her. Taking the cue, I sat down beside her.

I ate as Darts read his poem, disregarding it in all honestly. I didn't know what he was going on about, and Keiko didn't seem to react to it, so I just assumed it was meant mostly for Sub's ears and shrugged it off.

The green energy would catch Aile’s eye briefly, though she wouldn’t give it much mind until the fog came in. Once it did, she would back up real quick, looking for a way to get out. “Dammit all…” She blinked a couple of times as the fog came in, suddenly noticing that everything else disappeared. No mountain, no pond, no Aden. Just… white.

While she was turning around to try and see anything really, the voice called out, Aile whipping back around to see who was talking to her. Not a voice she recognized, though. She kept quiet as the woman walked up to her, keeping on guard until her newfound partner in this white void seemed to relax. At least some. Her appearance was curious, not having seen anything like it. Like it was from another region entirely, one she hadn’t heard about. Or paid any attention to in her geography classes a long time ago. The ensemble did make it so her green eyes stood out, though. Similar to her own, she noted, but brighter, where here's were more of a dark green. That… and her staff. Aile’s eyes dropped to her arm, flexing the fingers a couple times before focusing in on her emerald fingernails.

Aile would wait until her ‘sister’, as she apparently was, would finish her questions, waiting a moment more as she tried to figure out her answer. Her first assumption would be that she might have been from a different time, with her calling her clothes immodest. However, again, the aforementioned issue of not paying attention during geography was showing up.Well, might as well go for things. They certainly weren’t in any sort of normal place now. “Let’s start with the best explanation for this place I might be able to come up with. This place… I got here by visiting a place called the Crystal Pool near a small village called Kitakami, I think they said it rested somewhere north of Johto? My region knowledge when they aren’t near my home region is… less than stellar.” Taking a small, slightly nerve riddled breath, she continued. “Speaking of that, I hail from Kalos. Though, it’s not where I stay currently. There’s… a whole other story with that. But in most places I know of currently, it’s just as normal to see woman dressed like me in pants as it is to see them in skirts. Honestly, you’re the first person I’ve ever seen dressed like that.

“And as for your other comments and questions…” She looked down to her arm again, staring at the emerald nails. Why specifically, I’m not so sure. Just saw a faint flash of green light while trying to snap my friend out of his trance, and then this happened. I couldn’t tell you what the Mighty is, and… Well…” Aile would close her eyes and hold out her right hand, focusing on willing her artifact back into the form she originally found it in. “I don’t know what you mean by mark, either, unless you’re talking about the artifact. I wasn’t inducted into any sort of group outside of this band of mercenaries called Team Snagem. But, I found this artifact after exploring an abandoned temple that we came across after reuniting with my Flygon. And I’ve been stumbling my way around using it like a bumbling idiot since. I… know nothing of its history, and just… anything, really. I only realised what it really was when… When I attacked my friend, and it transformed into a punching dagger, after seeing myself in my head using one in my left arm. Which, as you can see, doesn’t currently exist for me.” She sighed and dropped her arm, though she still kept hold of the staff. “I don’t even know where to get started with this thing. Sorry.”

"...huh? Oh yeah, I'm good. Think I forgot to take my adderol this morning." Tsuki said, like a liar. He didn't take adderol, he was unmedicated. Looking back at the map of his own brochure, the trainer decided to recall Snapdragon back to his Pokeball. "You'll probably have a difficult time goin' the entire way bud." He'd say, knowing just how slow Dipplins had to go. They were basically like big Goomys- and he didn't want anything getting stuck in his candied apple along the way. Cleaning that thing would be a pain.

He followed along, looking over at the festival grounds on their way towards the mountain. "I wonder what kind of masks they got here- I saw a post up by the town hall earlier this morning about some masks that the local guardians took for their own." Tsuki thought back to the stanzas that he had read under the moonlight and also his flashlight. Those masks sounded kind of like artifacts. Were the Loyal Three and the ogre long dead channelers? Which made Tsuki wonder what kind of channeler could alter their elemental powers by shifting artifacts. "Hm..." he hummed, thinking about it. That sounded kind of like terastalization- which couldn't make sense. That was a Paldean thing and this was all the way in the Indigo Chain. On the other side of the planet, probably.

Eh. Probably just coincidence.

Tsuki shook his head. "Nope, unless there's a group chat I don't know about- but let's be real I don't think any of the older guys know about those." He said, looking over to Rachel to catch if she knew anything about that.
