Flyninette Name or Nickname: My name is Deborah, but I go by Flyninette or Flyn online! Age: 28 How long you've been on Gaia: I joined in 2008 (I think), stayed for a few months, and then left for a looong while. Somehow, I remembered my password and I came back a few months ago! While I'm not super active on the forums, I'm online nearly every day. Favorite Dress up item(s): I like too many! But I love working with backgrounds. What inspires your avatars?: Honestly, I learn from other creators, but then I also work with items I find interesting and build from there! I also like to think about a background story for my avatar and that helps me create. What you hope to get out of the guild: I'm terrible at responding on forums and holding conversations, but I'll be there for contests and ghosting! I love a challenge and digging into people's invo. A little bit about yourself (can be anything, as short/long as you like!):I'm French but have been living in the US for the past 1.5 years. I'm a research analyst for the video game industry which is a job I love! In my free time I like to play video games (though only a few hours per week, mostly RPGs and simulation games), boxing, fitness, hiking, books, manga/anime, cooking and bothering my cats by smooching them. cat_3nodding Welcome, welcome~~! How long you've been on Gaia: actively only a few months
Favorite Dress up item(s): i love the antique porcelain doll doll stand & everything from bloody nightmare shade, i also primarily use the heirloom palette!
What inspires your avatars?: i like to make avis inspired by gothic styles and id love to make more cosplays in the future!
What you hope to get out of the guild: to expand my avi building skills!
A little bit about yourself (can be anything, as short/long as you like!): its nice to meet you all!! i found this group from my gf @ cinnamorollcafe but ive been busy (went to a con this weekend) so i only just now got around to getting online!

What inspires your avatars?: Layering. Twinning if someone I know wants to twin and again layering older items with newer items.

Vosca Welcome, welcome~~! What are your kitties' names? Sorry for the late reply! They're both from the same litter, Inky (Tabby-male) and Cloud (Gray-female)! We've gotten them with my boyfriend in January this year. They're my first pets, so there's definitely been a learning curve and adapting to these cute monsters who looove to destroy my plants.

Do you have a focus in your degree? I have an AAS in Electronics Engineering, focus Computer Electronics, and was working (before becoming disabled and unable to work) on a Bachelors in Database Development focus Web Design. I like the fact that you can have a degree with overall knowledge of a wide subject but choose to focus on one particular aspect, so just curious.
I tend to be a lurker myself, but being in an interactive guild helps me come out of my shell a bit and be able to just take my mind off the worries of life for a short while (I have an autistic son). Gaia has always helped me to not be such a lurker on sites (I lurk on FB and other social sites all the time, but here I feel free to be myself more).
I feel much the same as you in the "favorite dress-up item" category - though, I do love anything neko- or kitsune-ish, lol

What inspires your avatars?: Pretty much an item I really want to use then I just focus the avatar around it and other creative users. What do you hope to get out of the guild: To see creative avatars and possibly get some ideas for future avis. In my spare time, when I'm not gaming and relaxing with my babe, I absolutely love creating colorful and fun avis. YIKES! DENTIST! *runs away*

What games do you play, what platforms, may I ask? I play on nearly every platform (yes, even NES/SNES...though we use a Retron to play those games since finding a working original console can be nigh impossible).

I feel much the same as you in the "favorite dress-up item" category - though, I do love anything neko- or kitsune-ish, lol Mine is more in a traditional/contemporary setting. In the sense of we make artworks like the ones you see in museum. Be it painting, sculptures, installations, videoworks , interactives works etc. My degree basically teach you how to be an artist. We don't get to learn any drawing,painting and such skills but we do get guided to become an artist. Apparently we already got those feature in us and it's up to us to develop it or not. We build/host our own exhibition and collab with other artists. I hope this all make sense lol. Oh wow! Nice way to explain everything. Is it more because of the identity being exposed? Like the worry of it. Here you are basically the same as anyone behind a screen. You "can choose" to reveal identity or not but there is also a safe place to talk about certain topics or help others. Yes I agree with you it is in a way for me to escape too and to connect with other people whom I have never met before in my life. Ohhh those items! The newer ones are so expensive. How long you've been on Gaia: Since 2017 but I just came back this week from a one-year hiatus
Favorite Dress-up item(s): I don't really have favorites but I like pale bubblegum items and also leg mods!
What inspires your avatars?: It can vary between cute and sophisticated, but mostly cute whee and sometimes I like to dress based on fantasy themes!
What you hope to get out of the guild: To get inspiration from pros and also to just have fun heart
A little bit about yourself (can be anything, as short/long as you like!): I'm from the Philippines and currently a Freshman College student with a course in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research! Classes start on September 17 though so I'm a bit nervous about going to college.

Welcome! The bubblegum color scheme is so cute...that drew me too when I first came back this spring from a long hiatus. Congrats on starting college! It definitely can be scary but you will get used to it in no time. Industrial engineering sounds really cool; you must be super smart. I remember the engineering program where I went to college was pretty competitive. Also, don't be afraid to change your mind on your major. But do it soon enough that you can still graduate on time. (most classes you take in the beginning cross majors) When I first went to school I wanted to be a vet but after starting the program I didn't think I could euthanize animals. I ended up changing my major to Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Then I went and got my Masters Degree in Human Resources.

What inspires your avatars?: Anything! As long as I can make it work, I will make it work. I love to experiment with all different styles.
