Seika sheathed her weapon and nodded her head, grabbing onto Sumika back as it was pretty clear what she wanted as she’d literally told the girl too and Seika hoped on, nearly embarrassed she was getting a piggy back ride. She only used one hand to hold on properly at this point as with her legs supporting her she was unlikely to be shaken off, again repeating the same handseals to relive herself of the damaging effects of the seal draining her body of chakra and raking it with pain. Whatever Sumika had going on was insane, the giant sword, her skill and movements were so much more polished that Seikas were and it made her feel a little useless. Thus she would be carried by Sumika toward to platform with a blast of air that woulda sent her flying should she have not grabbed hold, the unnatural feeling of moving but not being the one in control a bit of a thrill. If they made platform-fall, Seika would brush herself off before nodding a thank you to Sumika Yashima, I’m prepping a healing technique, I’ll fix you up and restore any chakra this stupid seal has taken. She would think at him as she began to perform handsigns to do exactly what she said as about then, the platinum blonde woman from the group who had created a smokescreen was hopping off what looked like a summon with a ferret comparable to a large dog and an even bigger one, she looked unharmed so Seika didn’t offer the woman in Yozen clothing any help.
Her ember clone would rush forwards and leap at the giant shadow east into the destructive wind and rocks, exploding rather ineffectually when compared to everyone else, it’s flames getting drowned by dirt and wind force. Her other clone simply stayed back from the carnage and turned to look back the way they came, keeping her eyes out for other examinees to warm them of the impending challenge and offer medical aide to those injure.

tab With gritted teeth and eyes shut tight, Chosuke braced him as the earth dragon that had circled him self-destructed, releasing a mighty explosion. By the skin of his teeth, he managed to endure the blast, the worst of aftermath being a brief coughing fit from all the dust and debris that had been kicked up. Still, any amount of damage would have been worth it, for when all had settled and Chosuke could once more open his eyes, he found that the smoke had been cleared as a result of the blast. This revealed two important details to him: 1) just how close he had managed to get to Kujaku, with her now just being just out of his natural reach and 2) the little brat that had been previously blocking his path was now on the opposite side of him, engaged with their other teammate.
tab The boy attempted to taunt Chosuke, telling him of some girl he had previously fought who put up more of a challenge. "Yeah?! Well I don't know what a Hyuuga is, but I'm ending this NOW!" he yelled. With a surge of chakra to his right arm, it quickly quadrupled in size as he pulled it back in preparation to strike. However, rather than striking at the boy, Chosuke instead struck at the ground between himself and the boy. The impact of this strike caused all the earth within a fifty foot radius to shatter, erupting in a flurry of debris. Normally, Chosuke would have used the splintered earth as projectiles but in this instance, he just needed it for cover.
tab Turning back to where Kujaku laid bound, Chosuke rushed to her side, kneeling down beside her. At first he tried to break the chains with his strength alone, but despite all the might he could muster, they just would budge. 'Dammit! If strength alone won't cut it, I'll just have to give it everything I've got!' Focusing his chakra into his hands, he once more began to pull at the chains. Their resistance remained strong but with the combined efforts of his chakra and muscles, he finally managed to break them and release Kujaku.
tab Scooping the girl up into his arms, Chosuke took a defensive stance as he looked back towards the direction of the boy, his eyes blazing with determination. He could feel the effects of the Gate of Opening begin to befall him, but he did all he could to endure it. After all, he may have freed Kujaku, but they were still in the heat of battle. He needed to be prepared for whatever the boy would throw at him next.

This range is increased by five feet per rank of the Partial Expansion Technique active. Targets stricken by the earth slung by this technique suffer an additional tier of trauma and suffer tier one paralysis over the stricken body parts.

Should the user take additional damage before the end of the second post, the increase stacks, refreshing it's active time. •Battlefield Presence: The user's powerful presence on the battlefield strikes terror into their foes. Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no activation for that specific instance of kai.

tabThe red head flinched rather noticeably the moment Bun-ello raised his voice at her. The girl’s eyes had squeezed shut as her head turned face down and to the side. Coello himself wasn’t really that threatening, especially in his super cute new form. But Mina didn’t handle being scolded very well, by anyone really. It really solidified just how much she messed up. And while her flaring anxiety readied her for repercussions to come, the fact that they didn’t snapped Mina from her downward spiral of overthinking.
Coello calming down and thanking them for fighting on his behalf wasn’t the reaction the Genin had been expecting. Rei’s reaction, too, was quite the surprise for her. Of the two of them, Mina had been expecting the stoic swordsman to give it to her the worst. But the smile on the boy’s face, and the soft chittering from the grey rabbit, all slowly put her at ease. So much so that pretty soon into Rei’s laughing spiel did Mina finally return back to normal. And that meant… her attention deficit also returned, forcing her focus to the ear pointing at her. It was so long and it looked so soft… When Coello wasn’t looking, Mina (with an expression awash with how cute Bun-ello was) reached out. With a nervous gulp the Genin started to scritch her fingers along the fluffy back part of the ear. The fur was so soft to the touch that Mina was simply hypnotized by the feeling of it all. While she did, Rei’s words echoed in her head. She seemingly wasn’t paying attention, the softness in her face showed that the words had hit their mark.

“Thank you, Rei. Now let’s get to the end of this thing!” Mina beamed as the three of them made their way to the ending podium.
Miyuki was caught off-guard when her opponent could sense her despite the chakra cloaking. She hadn't expected it, and while she dodged to the side as best she could, the boy's first attack still clipped her shoulder and elicited a shout of pain/surprise. Miyuki was quick to shoot herself a hundred feet into the air with a shunshin [ Fuuton: Shunshin no Jutsu | Rank D ]. From above, she caught a glimpse of just how fast her opponent could move, and she knew immediately that she'd be unable to keep it up if he could dictate the pace.
She needed to get him on uneven footing so she could begin to manipulate the battlefield. As she descending from her newfound height, she shot a palm downwards towards the boy, a rush of wind come down to either force him to jump farther from the swords decorating the battlefield or to take the brunt of the wind [ Gale Wind Palm [ Reppuushou ] | Rank C ]. "How is she, Chosuke?" Miyuki cried out from the sky as she descended, hoping Kujaku wasn't too badly injured.

The resulting gust is roughly palm-sized, and capable of severely injuring an unarmored foe. When acting in conjunction with another thrown weapon or ninjutsu, the wind can increase its power and deadliness, but where this jutsu truly shines is against any projectile, ninjutsu or otherwise. As long as their rank is lower the opponents attack may be overturned with this jutsu and forced back at them automatically being korabo’d with this jutsu. Hearing Shikarie shout, 'I'm fine... It's an easy fix when we are alone. Definately can't fix it with her there...' She sent to them, her voice would have the hint of frustration and confusion. It could be because of her teammate emotions spiraling her out of control slightly. Shikarie was right. They wouldn't be any good finding Thresher if they were dead. 'Hai...' Inohachi meekly responded to Shikarie. The horrible lady seemed to pick on Kotori as her healthy arm clenched in a fist. Kotori mentioned about Thresher as Inohachi's browed furrowed for a moment. She was going to stay focused for her teammates. The pain of her shoulder can wait. Who was this woman? Was she so ugly and hideous to keep up with Thresher's appearance even though they already figured out that she was not Thresher? Sure enough, Shikarie told her to drop the act and they knew that she wasn't Thresher. Kotori helped. The sudden burst of anger and determination help riled Inohachi up. She was able to focus and she wanted to go down and punch Usagi but she was not that dumb. Hearing Kotori mentioned that she should've apologized to her when she had the chance, a hint of redness appeared on her cheeks as she was unsure what to do or even think. The sudden burst from Kotori in power, Inohachi was now, honestly, scared of Kotori. 'W-What's going on...?' Inohachi accidently thought, forgetting for a moment that others can hear.
Hearing her teammate call out to her that if she could follow her, her brain froze. Come on. Think! She learned Sensor techniques! Think Inohachi, think! Inohachi looked at Shikarie in surprise and confusion, to see if she can talk to Kotori out of it? That she was the target before changing. "I..." She stammered. No. Shikarie was right. She needed to help her friend. Swallowing her fear down a bit as her stomach was twisted and full of butterflies, Inohachi had to think quick. An idea appeared to her as she used some handseals and a clone was right by her. The real Inohachi jumped down from the branch in front of Kotori, both Shikarie and Kotori would be overwhelmed with happiness and calmness. Right now, Inohachi was remembering a beautiful memory with her family at a picnic. It was when she was thinner, healthier, and happier. Shikarie and Kotori may be at different places such as at a beach or at a mountain or even eating ice cream, depending on what happiness brought them to. "Hey!" She said with a smile, "It's okay. Don't you listen to that meanie ugly woman! Her soul is so hideous and empty, she's not worth it. I need your help, Kotori. Please save your energy, I need you!" Her voice was happy and cheery.
Meanwhile the clone Inohachi, not taking in any telepathy from the group, was still railed up from the anger. She was behind Usagi. After using the necessary handseals, her chakra would be channel towards Usagi, aijming for the nervous system. If successful, she would let Usagi be paralyzed and unable to move.

Continuing: Mist Vision Technique [ Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu ] | Rank D Passive A technique usually used with the Hidden Mist Technique, the Mist Vision technique allows the user to see through the heavy mist, steam, or any other condition caused by water in the air. The technique is passive and activates when the user's vision would otherwise be obstructed by mist. When within a fog or mist, the user must use D-Rank chakra during the first post of use followed by an E-Rank amount as upkeep, this allows the user to see through all mist or steam as long as this is active regardless of rank. Does not consume an activation to be used. Negates any blindness status caused by moisture in the air.
To Shikarie, Kotori, and Thresher: Emotion Enhance [ Kanjō o takameru ] l Rank B Requiring access to the Inton Mastery PA, this jutsu applies chakra to the currently afflicted emotion that is affecting at least one person on the Yamanaka's network. By using this technique the Yamanaka will use chakra to deepen the effects of the emotion enough to cause a physical effect on the body. As previously stated this jutsu may be used on any amount the user wishes but no two emotions can be active on the network at the same time. It should also be noted that when desiring to alter the emotions of an enemy beyond the basic effect ( aka if you want to add chakra to increase the power of the emotion enough to cause physical a effect ) then a stronger mental connection is required, meaning you must previously have landed a successful Mind Switch Technique on them as well as currently having them affected by Yamanaka Telepathy. Breaking free from this ability requires expending equal amounts of chakra as the rank of this ability. This only combats the increased effects and does NOT break the user free of the basic emotion field as well. Also, because this is not considered a kai it does not consume an activation to to break free. Lasts until broken or the Yamanaka cannot sense the target anymore.
Happiness: Pure joy fills the target as their worries wash away. Mental Stress AND Insanity that would/are affecting the target become washed away. Continuously draining chakra equal to the source of the afflicting technique from the Yamanaka's pool whenever needed. This ability is learned as a B rank jutsu but should be treated as an X Rank for determining costs and status easing. The cost of this jutsu must always be equal to the highest ranking status being used.
To Usagi: Mind Body Disturbance Technique [ Shinranshin no Jutsu ] l Rank B Sending their chakra outward as a colored mental projectile, the user will seek to collide into the subject's nervous system. Because of the way this projectile works, it only respects collisions with other spiritual or ninjutsu techniques. Simple and complex will pass through it. If the user is successful in making contact with a target then they gain complete control of the target's nervous system. Targets under the effect of this technique are completely under the user's control as their bodies become disconnected from their will. The difference between this, and the Mind Body Switch Technique is, the caster does not project their consciousness into the enemies body but it still given control over the target's movements. This control can be exerted even from long distances so long as sensory awareness is maintained or other Yamanaka abilities are used. In order to release oneself the escapee must pay the cost of this jutsu along with whatever extra amount the caster places into the technique. If overwhelming is granted than the user may apply it only to the rank cost of this jutsu and not this second amount. Lasts for [ 5 ] posts.

This event was essentially her first debut to the Land of Fire. Not many events since have prompted Unki's presence. What sort of impression should she let herself make? What impression was she making? She might have already fumbled her appearance to the Emperor but Unki was finding she could default to the company of another female; a female who had leadership on her shoulders. It wasn't difficult to feel like she could warm up to Lahlil. Fortunately the strapping man, blatantly missing a shirt, was sent onward which allowed the ever-growing quiver threatening to cave her knees begin its decline. Why, if she had actually managed a firm view of Masato's refined muscular structure then there's no telling how soon Unki's image would reduce to a flush, starstruck admirer of the male physique. Or worse? Unki turned her cheek against the stiff, silken leaves of her fan with her focus in tow. Over the brim of her fan, she caught more than a glimpse of Lahlil's picnic set-up coming to life which compelled a sigh of relief. A fluffy blanket spread was perfect! There was no way a plain ol' quake in her knee would be undoing at this rate. The picnic blanket was perfect and, more importantly, a thoughtful gesture too. Yes, warming up to Lahlil was beginning to feel like it wasn't going to be a very hard hurdle to hop over.
After nearly embarrassing herself with the Fire Emperor, Unki looked and spoke softly to her guard around her asking them to disperse and mind where they see fit. One guard was taking her jellyfish-like lantern with them. Like a bee to honey, Unki snapped her fan closed and stepped straight toward's Lahlil's picnic. The empress was just looking just happy to be there even under the unusual circumstances of false night. She plunked her chipper self onto a spot over the blanket. Her skirt briefly formed a puffy purple dome around her hips (which she promptly began to flatten with her palms, in an animated display, before she could invest herself completely in feeling pretty). "Well aren't we cute tonight?" she piped to Lahlil, flashed a grin, and broke into a giggle.
Now, the Royal Guard's newest addition in to ranks had already take her own liberties into account and had beat Unki to the blanket! The situation was calm and Unki was content with taking Nami's strides in a good light. She was still learning the ropes, correct? "Now now, Nami-nami, what if this location wasn't completely secure? Please remember the guard sticks together!" Granted, she was just a few feet away from the other three members of Unki's guard. A seasoned guard wouldn't be scrutinized as much, honestly. New guards need to remember and make new habits. "Maybe, just maybe." She pauses and taps the side of her fan to her chin, leaning toward Nami and staring into what she could see of the girl's eyes. Her expression was briefly neutral before she could just tease with a false smile, "do you think you should keep your regular clothes on?"But posing a question wasn't enough. Unki spread the fan open and shielded what she could of her face from Lahlil and leaned toward Nami just a hair more than before."This is my first time outside the Empire! We should make a professional impression on our neighbors! If this were our party I might let you run around in your swimmy clothes!" She whispered hoarsely the bulk of her complaint before pulling away and once more snaps the fan closed. "Rather you to be battle ready. I'm certainly not implying anything but events like these are subject to sabotage when political heads are lined up."
It was here, Unki was able to finally tune into the conversation that had been on-oging. Hearing the Emperor's comment regarding Lahlil's mystery "costly" gambit was piquing her nosy curiosity. "Oh," she cooed softly with a tap of fan to her chin. And whispered, "what did I miss?" What were the few Lightning forces up facing off with? His open commentary swept into one topic to another before Unki could land any juicy details about what was going on with the genin contenders.
Behind, Unki's hearing hones in on the earnest mention of one place she holds dear. She was just beginning to turn her head with her hand pressing away the frilly lining of her pale bonnet. Quickly, the mention of her husband's name follows into voice. Anyone only seems to ever address Unki as "Lady Chosokabe" in certain circumstances: to respect the Imperial couple; notably then the Lord and Lady pair of doting lovebirds were together. In short, for our sprightly guest Empress, Unki might have been too accustomed to her life as Amano Unki than she was as Chosokabe Unki in recent years. "Well of course Kumogakure's been undergoing some work. It needs to be able to suit it's new city-like name." she sings as a smile curls across her cheeks. "Kumoito. Kumo's all grown up from it's humble -sato origins to a thriving -ito name now."Village to city. Unki turned away to face forward finally. Her head was tilting askew to indicate her attention was still toward Masahiro's reply. The Empress was holding her fan again. Nosily snapping the silken warfan open and close over and over again as she went on with her train of thought, "the tricky part is re-branding a notable village. Kumogakure to Kumoito still has some marks to meet but they're one and the same, at least." She flutters her fan, "The noble families in the cloud were thrilled when Shiro and I finally proposed the change. What? Three years into the Empire?”She cast her sights on one of her guard taking a post amidst a thoughtful pause, “Maybe sooner, actually. I could always be mistaken.”She said with a shrug. Unki didn’t sound too thrilled mentioning the noble families but the praise and applaud from the letters, which all relayed the same message, that all poured into Kumoimine Keep for a span of a month stuck out in her memories. Fortunately, her tone did rise back up to its chipper song. “Re-branding isn’t easy on a grand scale. But more importantly,”she called and swiveled her shoulders so to just face Masahiro again. “When I can configure any big, extravagant details to see about preparing for a fancy Imperial visit then how about I send you my courier with a window of time and we'll work the icky-nitty-gritty from there?" tab

A professional impression. Not understanding, she glanced at the other three guards who were looking around, stotic and serious. What was she supposed to do? The hints that Unki was giving to this clueless girl wasn't enough. Maybe she needed to go stand somewhere and act all guard. Okay. That she can do. Getting up as she dusted her dress off and grabbed her very handy black umbrella. Now. What was she trained? Make sure to stand where you can protect Unki as well to be able to escape. Sadly, the guards already took the spot. Squatted down slightly, she took a lollipop and unwrapped it. As she threw the wrapper away in the trashcan, she stood behind the guards and started to roll the lollipop into her mouth. Her eyes gazed over at the screens now and then while keeping her ears out and listening. Odd. She watched the genin being attacked by... the same person? Her eyebrow rose. People are so weird. Why throw children and even some adults into exams like this?

Genjutsu Path: Enchantress • Crystal Ball | The Shoton user's crystals can act as a crystal ball and produce divination visions by applying an E-Rank amount of chakra for no action cost. This allows viewing the crystals to be used as a sight trigger for genjutsu. Genjutsu triggered with this method cost one rank higher to kai but require one tier lower to release through pain at a maximum of S+ chakra and a minimum of tier one pain. In addition, as a clairvoyant, all genjutsu with sight as the primary sense can last for an additional [2] posts with no upkeep cost. • Crystalline Rampart | Defensive crystal techniques are one rank stronger against spiritual techniques in collisions. __ Kotori dove into the water where Usagi had been, watching her suddenly evade her blazing limbs just as they neared. The violent firestorm threw the waters and vapors away from where Kotori landed, her dojutsu locking onto Usagi's adjusted position with her many swords scattered in the surrounding pond. Darkness started to creep into her peripherals, much like the abyss that had engulfed her when this fight first started, but this time the shadows felt like they were scorched away from her mind. Her harshly growing fury was brushing away the illusion while her blood lust became even more focused on the one posing as Thresher. The dialogue between Shikarie and Inohachi- even in the moments when it branched out to either Usagi or herself- failed to reach her notice. When Inohachi screamed at Kotori to calm herself and save her strength, she instead tensed before pivoting and slamming a powerful diagonal kick with her right leg into the oncoming Giant Vortex technique cast by Usagi. An uncomfortably hot wind accompanied the countering strike that would send the water and all of Usagi's swords rolling back at her, seemingly with little effort. Inohachi's disabling flanking attack would emulate some form of teamwork for a moment, but that was the extent of any coordinated strategy between the genin right now. The fires dancing off of Kotori's bodily markings exploded and Kotori shrieked as she was fully consumed by them, "Ahyiiiiiiiiiiieeeeaaaaaaarrrrgh!!!" A breath later, and those dense cocoon of fire burst, revealing Kotori fully transformed by her cursed seal from over half a decade ago.
Any water that hadn't been thrown back as a rolling tide of blades was either raining back down onto their area of the forest or it was evaporating just for being too near Kotori. She now stood about a foot taller than she was before, fox-like ears stood alert atop of her head and four fluffy, albeit agitated tails swished and flicked behind her partially hunched posture. Arcs of fire burned in erratic rhythms all around her while her dress and Isetsuhiko's amulet fluttered and whipped against the powerful heat currents surrounding her. Glints of gold from the Kotoshironushi gauntlets were mostly concealed by the flowing sleeves of her new attire. Kotori took in another breath then let out another wild, guttural wail, "KaryieeeeeeaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!" As she let out this howl an intense hot gale exploded out into the forest, visibly growing the range which the waters nearby were evaporating against her presence. The explosive typhoon that came with the Gate of View being forced open just after Kurama's infectious power became fully realized would likely scare most lacking the experience of dealing with the presence of a bijuu. Kotori herself was not a jinchuuriki, but she could certainly fight on par with one as she was now. Now, her mind was on auto-pilot with only a simple directive: defeat Usagi. Her elongated fingernails scraped against each other like tearing paper as her hands as the slid past each other and her crimson, nearly-omniscient gaze settled on the Thresher lookalike. Kotori suddenly moved fast as lightning and was nearly as deadly.
Kotori was intent on demolishing the opponent in front of her with her overwhelming might. Kotori was automatically and constantly setting fire to anything flammable in the forest as she descended upon her mark. Before long, the whole area would be an inferno while an angry little bird hunted for an ornery rabbit. The booms of Kotori's super fast and super-powered motions would be the only indicators of her approach before wherever they were became set ablaze. This form had allowed her to realign her chakra network to better regulate the flow of power through the active and awaiting two Eight Inner Gates, meaning that she had been once-again invigorated by the Gate of Healing's restorative powers before committing to her hunt. "Take this!" Kotori would launch herself at her foe if she lingered, poising the threatening display of a Cherry Blossom combo. "More! More! MORE! HAVE SOME MOOOORE!!" If unavoided, Usagi's clone would suffer a series of fifteen powerful, fiery, lacerating unarmed strikes in the same time it would take most others to deliver a single blow. Afterward, Kotori would break away, landing on a lower tree branch which was quickly also set on fire as a result of her arrival. She would maniacally monologue as her vision tracked the imposter, only to leave her alone if she were destroyed by the last attack. "Kotori can keep going! Kotori is strong! Very strong! Heheh! Hahahahaahahahahah!" Her crazed expression and adrenaline-fueled laughter would echo a short ways through the forest. This spiraling situation of unchecked emotions and lost control was sure to give much pause to Inohachi and Shikarie. Inevitably, the lost telepathic connection to Kotori would draw further concern as the girls' voices had already failed to reach their punch-happy-go-lucky teammate. What if Kotori turned on them? What if she attacked other examinees in her current state?

Thinking that her idea would work the shadow inched it's way closer to the pair below. Sadly the imposter and Kotori retreated under water."tsk. Damn it." She mummbled to herself. With the two of them underwater her shadow can't reach them. Releasing her handsign her shadow would receed back to it's original position. How did they even know what was happening? Her Genjutsu should have blocked their vision. Where they both using sensory techniques?
Shikarie couldn't see much while they were underwater. So the best choice was to stay above in the trees and wait for an opening. Whatever that may be. Suddenly the water below started to move rapidly in her direction only to be blown back to other way. The water was now gone from the ground and raining back down onto the battleground. Shikarie couldn't believe her eyes."Is that Kotori?" She asked rhetorically. Her teammates' appearance had changed. Her physical appears and even her demeanor. It was like she wasn't even her anymore. As the water sprinkled around her Shikarie could see steam coming off of Kotori's body. Was she evaporating it just by touching her? Wasting now time the powerful redhead starting attacking the imposter.
"What in the hell is going on here?! This is way past the strength of normal Genin" She stood there in awe at the power that was being displayed before her. She couldn't waste too much time gawking at the pair, for now, the surrounding tree line was set ablaze. Inohachi was pleeing for Kotori to come to her senses, but nothing was working. It didn't even look like she was hearing her at all. There was no physical signs of her listening to the Yamanaka at all. This defiantly wasn't the Kotori they knew.
She had to do something. Taking into account that it was clear the imposter was a water style user Shikarie knew that fire style wasn't going to cut it. That only left Earth style. The problem was that she didn't really know many techniques. Right know Kotori seemed out of her mind and fixated on the imposter. Maybe seperate the two? No, there is not guarantee that it will work. The imposter can use water style. Strong jutsu too. Meaning she could put the fire out with ease. She will have to try again. Leaping down from her tree onto the mud, hoping that the chakra going through it was now gone she positioned herself where she stood directly in front of the tree. Looking down she could see that her shadow was now facing forward. "Inohachi. I need you to stay focused. If this does not work I need you to go find help. This may be beyond our control." Kneeling down she slamed her hands on the mud and flowed her own chakra into it. The earth before her started to shake. Soon it would start to split open and creating a 15 foot deep gap in the earth within 30 feet of her in all directions. As soon as the gap was created she preformed the hand sign for her shadow possession jutsu. With the help of the fire behind her she was able to quickly get her shadow to extend to the crack before her, connecting to the shadow now inside of the earth's crack. Then at the same time she would send two shadows out from the crack and towards kotori and her imposter. She had hoped that by creating the gap it would cause them to jump backward from where they stood and she hoped to take the advantage of this split-second decision they would have to make in order to avoid falling in to catch them with her shadow. This would aim to separate both of them while hopefully stopping their movements in the process. But the bigger question would it work? They both were extremely fast. But it was worth a shot.
- The user slams their palm on the ground, causing the ground within thirty feet of their location in all directions to begin churning, breaking and crumbling the landscape which creates gaps in the earth up to fifteen feet deep. Those within the range of this technique require an additional rank of resources to utilize their techniques due to the broken concentration of the landscape crumbling.

- What can be considered the 'bread and butter' of the Nara Clan, the Shadow Possession Technique is the basis by which all other Nara jutsu were created around. By applying chakra to their shadow the Nara may extend it out as far as they wish or may even split it in order to capture multiple opponents at once, or create multiple avenues of attack that must be defended against. No matter how it is used, the effect remains the same, if the target's shadow comes into contact with the Possession Technique they are immediately considered possessed and unable to take any action aside from mimicking the Nara. Even small things such as talking or eye movements are kept under lock and key until the jutsu ends. Breaking this effect requires the user to pay stamina equal to one rank higher than this technique, and only after the target has been trapped for a full post. If used on the target more than two times in a fight, then the one post waiting period is negated and only the same rank stamina is needed to break free. Additionally, this shadow being manipulated is considered to be intangible when interacting with normal attack collisions. Barriers are excluded from this.

tabUsagi came to a dead stop against the tree as Miyuki shot up into the air. She was surprised to say the least that the Genin could move as fast as she had. As the wind from Miyuki’s dodge blew the remainder of the smoke away, the Kage realized something. Something very important. Usagi was standing much farther away from her captive than she’d meant to be allowing an opening for Chosuke to grab her! “Oh no you don’t!” She growled and hastily focused on the seal she’d placed on the ground at the start: the mark of the Flying Thunder God. In an instant Usagi had teleported to the location of her seal, but what was waiting for her was unexpected. The boy struck the earth, sending a shockwave of rock to fly at Usagi. The impacting rocks hit her wooden body all at once, the debris causing her to fly back and away from Kujaku again. Before Usagi had even landed, Miyuki had a perfectly timed follow up. While the clone was parallel with the ground, an explosion of wind came from the sky! It crashed into Usagi and sent her suddenly colliding into the earth below!
“I was not ready for today.” As Usagi lay in a crater of earth, her face betrayed the look of someone who had slept poorly. With a loud and rather obnoxious groan, the clone rose to her feet. She cracked her neck with her eyes closed in an expression of exasperation. She was more embarrassed that she’d gotten caught by that, and a small blush on her cheeks made it apparent. “She’ll be fine!” The wood clone called out to the duo. “She’s not dead in any case.” Usagi opened her eyes to glare at Miyuki and Chosuke, more sternly like a teacher, than of an enemy. As she did, her body started to slowly sink into the ground, melding with it seamlessly. “But don’t think for a second this is over.” With those words coming from her mouth, the wood clone was completely submerged in the ground and traveling towards the finishing area. What was left behind, however, were three stars that were exactly like the ones the squad picked up before.

tabShe’s finally come out to play. Usagi noted as Inohachi’s chakra was on the move. It split into two: one going to Kotori and the other trying to sneak up behind her. That’s cute. Usagi thought as she formed her own series of seals as soon as she sensed the chakra of the girl behind her beginning to mold. When Inohachi’s jutsu was activated, so was Usagi’s. From behind the Kage, a spiraling shield of water formed, the swirling water intercepting the mass of chakra the girl was shooting at her. Whatever it was, Usagi didn’t want to deal with it right now. Not when the enraged Hyuuga was reflecting her vortex back at her like it was nothing!
The other Inohachi, clone or original, was knocked aside as Kotori went for the same counter move as before. The Kage was ready for it this time, however. The swirling shield swiveled from behind her to her front as Usagi held the last sign. With an effort of will, silver chains of chakra erupted from the hovering whirlpool of chakra, shining as if caught in the sunlight. They wrapped around the reflected vortex of raging water and swords. As the jutsu was caught it was pulled into Usagi by her chains, becoming sealed away into her body as if it was meant to be there. However, Usagi didn’t have time to feel relieved about that as power started to swell from the Hyuuga.
The energy crashed against Usagi’s chakra senses. It was wild and crazed, like a monster pounding against the wall its prey was hiding behind. The wave of heat and energy evaporated Usagi’s spiraling shield and forced Usagi to hold an arm to protect her face as she winced. This kid is a monster… She thought to herself, the raging heat and power keeping her grounded. She’d thought that her own Genin was powerful with her own forbidden seal, but this girl… She was definitely able to put Hasaki in her place, as well as the group of Genin Usagi’s other clone had finished fighting. The scorching wind of chakra from the girl’s counter seared at the clone’s skin, burning away at the wood like a bonfire, eroding away at parts of her disguise as her skin turned to charcoal. She had to think, and fast, as Kotori was suddenly in front of her! The burning aura from the Hyuuga set the area around her awash with flame. Usagi wasn’t physically ready for such an onslaught, so once again she disappeared with another pop. The Kage reformed with a second pop to a Flying Thunder God seal placed on the yellow tape from her swords, ripped and fallen to the ground.
In all of the confusion, Usagi had almost forgotten about the third girl. Among all the chakra from Kotori, Usagi was able to make out another jutsu heading her way, slithering its way across the ground like a snake. Usagi jumped back, flipping through the air around the on coming jutsu and placing her next to Shikarie. The Nara would see the seven foot tall body of Thresher looming over her, her body glowing a dull orange like wood in a fire, as a thought processed inside Usagi’s head. “You. You’re helping me with her, or we’re all dead.” She said sternly, her voice more like a teacher than an enemy, as chakra gathered in her palm. Then, as fast as Usagi could move, her hand lashed out to strike Shikarie, forcing Nature Chakra into the girl at an alarming rate. It was a gamble, but Usagi wouldn’t be able to fight this Hyuuga by herself, but there wasn’t a guarantee she’d found a temporary ally or not.

Immediately after, a spiraling shield of 'water' - truthfully a sealing barrier - will appear before the Uzumaki, defending them from attacks and swiveling to their flank and back to protect them from any direction necessary. The dimensions of the shield can be changed, and it can be picked up and wielded. Finally, by paying the additional cost, the shield can become a different sealing technique of the user's choice for no additional activation.
▰ Chakra Chains: Armed [ Kemono Fuuin: Shitai ] | Rank D l Variable (Cast at S) From the user's body sprouts dozens of metal chains which are molded solely by chakra. Despite their metal look they are not magnetic. The chains move to the whims of the user and can be used offensively or defensively. If the chains come into collision with a ninjutsu of equal or lower rank to the chains then the chains may envelop the technique and seal it away, causing the technique to manifest into one of the user's scrolls. The user can then fire the technique back at the opponent by paying the same cost of the technique sealed. If these chains bind an opponent then the opponent is drained of chakra and stamina equal to half of the rank the chains are used at. Equal rank of chakra is then required to break free from the chains. These chains last for two post per rank used.

▰ Flying Thunder God Technique [ Hiraishin no Jutsu ] | Rank S+ | Restricted Allows the user to create on contact a seal. This seal can be on anything including a weapon. The user may instantly appear anywhere the seal is. Cost five chakra to make a seal, and eighty chakra to transport oneself to any of the seal's locations. The act of making a seal for Hiraishin does not taken an activation. Requires being a Scholar class specialist. Additionally, this jutsu may not benefit from cost reductions with the exception from the Uzumaki.
▰ Whorl | Rank X | Simple (Cast At E += A-2= C) The user preforms several somersaults as they travel through the air, gaining a [1] point increase in speed or agility per rank of the technique. This can be used defensively to evade an attack or directly after a kicking technique. If used after a kicking technique, the user gains a [1] point speed increase to their next kicking attack if used directly after this technique. Alternatively, this technique can be used to relive damage from techniques that cause knock back or send the user flying to the ground by using the technique at the rank of the technique it is defending against.

tab Continuing happily with her picnic, Lahlil sprawled out on the lace stitch blanket with a dutiful hum. She had gotten very good at hiding the things that piqued her interest: This Lightning Empress being one of those things. Soft puffs of smoked that marked the use of a small scale summoning; a delicately assorted collection of pastries for each colored square of the cloth laying space. Selective fingers hesitated over the silver-plated dish that was closest to her person as an excuse whose invention was meant to hide the side glances thrown at the two conversing powers. Time for her favorite pass time! Judging and eating snacks.
While conveniently pretending to have missed the berating that as directed at her, Lahlil pursed her lips together from the sting of an incorrectly delivered name. The usually well-informed manner that the emperor carried himself in left the kage wondering if it had been intentional. Where Shuu had done his best to teach her how to use the wit of one's tongue, the fact of the matter remained that Lahlil claimed her title through strength of body more than anything else. So she watched, eyes gradually tossing aside the earlier caution in exchange for a more wide-eyed puppy dog look.
If the sleight had been intentional, then the empress had held herself well in Lahlil's opinion. Her correction coming as sweet as the smile on her lips and then just as easily forgiven in favor of exchanging pleasantries over the weather. "Oh! A winter visit in the mountains? I'd absolutely love the chance to get to visit! Over less formal matters, of course. Believe it or not, this is my first outing from the office in almost... two years now? Oh, and thank you so much for the compliment! I wanted to choose something special when I heard I'd be meeting Lightning's Empress, and dear, if there is anything you need, please let me know. Including any ants that may need summoning. If you may, however, forgive the sudden rudeness. I just felt the first of our children make it through to our next stage of the event." With a slightly turned expression, Lahlil directed her speech to Masahiro. "I'll make sure to handle any outside silly business with a more tactful hand then!" The kage let her voice ring while already trying to escape her way to the others before the emperor could get a chance to respond.
A light step carried the humming Hokage into view of her defeated wolf. A surprise to no one, truth be told, as she was fully confident in the intelligence of every genin that was participating. Except for maybe those storm younglings, and that was only because she hadn't spent time with them like she had her own. Standing straight-backed with hands clasped in front of her, the kage waited until what appeared to be most of the teams made their way to the platform. A swift crack of her heel against the bleached white stone was all the effort she would offer in gaining the attention of those present. "Ahem. Congratulations are in order, though I expected nothing less from each of you. You all know how to survive with odds against you, but now I want to tet your wit." The sound of earth grinding against itself echoed underneath the Hokage's words, and in only moments there were large tunnels of rock forming themselves in the space behind her. At the top of each of them was a number carved at the top, it's meaning remaining hidden until the collars around each team's neck began transmitting a rotating ring of light that displayed a number. With each team's number being identical to each other, it was clear that each group was excepted to travel through their corresponding tunnel. "I hope that none of you hold any trepidation about traveling underground." Pink eyes flashed over Mina's form, but the kage made no other mention to her. "Inside you will each find a test of your quick thinking. Failure to solve the puzzle in your allotted time will flunk the group but bring you to the next stage anyway. Since there are still teams out in the forest, you have until they reach the platform to ask me any question that you wish. Or... you may begin your next stage right now."

tabHearing the laughter echo from Rei set bun-ello on edge. It was his nature that Coello had a Napoleon complex, but being in bunny form only amplified this to the point where he could have boiled tea just by standing next to it. This: paired with the fact that he was still trapped in his smol boy form and wouldn't be able to keep up with the party, left the rabbit with only one recourse. Hundreds of useless baps battering the swordsman's chest. Coello's beady gaze could have told the tale of a hundred angry men, were it not for Mina's gentle touch on the back of his fluff ears.
The spark shocked his system as clear as a splash of cold in water in the face. Every human emotion flashing across his face in seconds flat before bun-ello leaped backward with the force of his hind legs. Flying there gracefully, Coello fell from his great height in much the same way that clouds didn't. Propping up after his landing, the Bunny could have fooled a detective with his razzled shift in demeanor. Coello buried red cheeks as much behind his pink fur as he could before stuttering out a mumbled plea. "Uhm please be careful of my ears. They're really sensitive... and not in the usual way."
With all hints of his earlier aggression now dissipated, bun-ello fluffed up his chest, eager to put this all behind him. "Now! Could one of you hold me again? I'm kinda stuck like this for a while. Luckily I think I see the platform over there so I shouldn't need to fight."

tab‘Shark girl, where are you…?’ The scaredy cat's thoughts echoed in Thresher’s mind, but the shark did her best to tune her out. Whatever that jutsu was that hit her in the beginning, it was affecting Thresher real bad. Her breath was haggard and her movements were much slower. And considering how fast the opponent in front of her was, the situation was less than ideal. In her moment of distraction Thresher was barely able to dodge an oncoming wall of hundreds of shuriken. The water around the girl’s feet swirled around her as the Genin seemingly molded into the liquid, appearing just on the other side of the flying wall of deadly knives.
‘I’m a little tied up at tha momen’,’ Thresher thought back with a growl. ‘But you’re redheaded friend with the jugs is gettin’ in my way fer some reason.’ The girl from the start of the exam, the one Leaf shinobi with red hair and the perky attitude, stood before Thresher. Six gourds on her sides, and a smirk that did nothing but piss Thresher off. The two of them were surrounded by yellow tape and hundreds of swords.
“You should stay focused, little fish~” The girl taunted. What was her damn name again? The girl quickly snapped her finger and Thresher could just get a whiff of the chakra molding from behind her. The Genin lunged forward just before the storm of shuriken she’d dodged exploded with a massive concussive force. It blew Thresher further forward and flying right into the girl’s foot. The kick sunk deep into her stomach and, while not the strongest she’d ever felt, was enough to knock the wind right from Thresher’s lungs. By the time Thresher could register the blow, the redhead disappeared with a pop. And the Genin barely caught the scent before another kick, a flurry of footwork, slammed into her back. The blows sent Thresher crashing into the ground, falling face first into the mass of water around them.
There was another pop before Thresher’s face was pulled out of the water by her hair, being forced to look into the eyes of the Leaf girl. “Are you worried about some kids you just met, hun?” There was that infuriating smirk again. Thresher clenched her fist and grit her teeth while she was spoken to. “You should go to them, ya know. But are you really going to run away, with your fin between your legs, for some girls you just met?”
Before Thresher could respond, the girl swung her fist down into the sharkgirl’s jaw. The blow sent her skidding along the ground where she struggled to get back up. “Owowow!” The redhead whined, shaking her throbbing red hand in pain. “Seriously, since when did you kids get so damn tough?”
Thresher pushed herself off the ground with her knuckles and shook her head. Was she being mocked? Just the idea filled her with red hot rage, forcing her chakra to well up in her like a storm. Thresher stumbled to her feet, much to the amusement of the Leaf ninja. The frustration and chakra pushed through Thresher until she finally exploded. With a roar that echoed through the Delta, as a sonar blast of chakra and sound shot from her throat. The sheer shockwave of the scream was enough to make the red head flinch and push her back several feet. “If ya think tha’s tough.” Thresher growled once the blast faded. She met the red head with a glare that could kill before spitting out purple blood to the ground. “Ya should see how I make ya pay fer toyin’ wit me.”

tabBy the time Kujaku could sense the attack it was far too late. The boy slammed his palm against her and immediately she was shackled. The nature chakra that supplemented her Sage Mode was ripped from her in an instant. She’d never experienced that before, but it felt like someone had robbed her of an organ. The sudden pain left Kujaku in shock as the chains wrapped around her frail body and she fell to the ground. She did her best to struggle against the chakra manifestations but the Genin couldn’t focus through her shock plus the continued draining from the chains. The pain wasn’t the worst she’d ever felt, much less than her experiences as a prisoner just a year ago. But this type was new, like her very nerve endings were on fire as she lost the strength to fight back. It was all she could do to just not scream out from the burning and the waves of discomfort that jolted through her.
She was vaguely aware of the battle around her, and she could hear everything as if it were far away. They needed to run! Chosuke and Miyuki needed to get out of here! Whoever this kid was, it was clear to her that if they just left her with him then they’d be safe! After all, Kujaku knew just how strong he was, having sensed a level of chakra comparable to a Kage just before he hit her!... But they continued to fight, to try and save her. If she was being honest, Kujaku was relieved to say the very least. But the instant she clocked that feeling for what it was, it was soon replaced by guilt. Guilt that once again someone had to come to her rescue. That once again she wasn’t strong enough to fight for herself.
Before she could wallow in her guilt, however, the fighting stopped. The shock and burning of the chains disappeared for the most part, only leaving the ghost sensations, as Chosuke ripped them off of her. Kujaku’s body was limp for a second as she tried to mentally recover, to slow her heart rate down to normal as she slowly opened her eyes.
That was until she realized she was Chosuke’s arms, being held close to the boy's chest. Kujaku yelped and removed herself from the boy’s arms by flailing to the ground. “Owowowow…” she muttered as the leftover pain shot through her on impact with the ground. “I-I’m fine.” The blue haired girl said to the group, but with a red blush that stood out against her hair. While she said she was fine her words were almost as shaky as her body was. “Thank… you for saving me…” She continued as she stood to her feet and gave the two other Genin a deep bow. Kujaku rose and was about to mention moving forward, but she stopped. The girl’s sudden movements made her feel lightheaded and she suddenly lost her balance, falling back towards Chosuke.
