Alexandria - Mercury Squire 9

Why was it Destiny City couldn't stay calm and quiet for more then a couple months?

Seriously, he wanted to legitimately know why.

He sighed, trudging past shadows and trying to pay what was creeping in them no mind. The Squire scowled, eying the ground with disdain. Yeah it was stable, that didn't mean it was safe. "Someone, I don't care who at this point, please tell me why we continue to live in the crazy place?" Like would it kill whoever was in charge of this bullshit to go and terrorize another city?

Alex sighed again, creeping onto the rotating platform, trying to focus on a central point to try and keep from getting dizzy.

Aiden Hale
2+2=4

The plan made about as much sense as anything and while the two of them stumbled their way through the shadows, Aiden felt the ground between his feet bein to shift and split.

Without much care or thought he shoved Alex to the side knowing that his own footing and balance would not save him from falling into the fault but at least perhaps his boyfriend would remain safe on more stable ground.

“Ahh!” rocks crumbled beneath him and out of desperation, he tried to keep hold of the ledge but it felt as if something had a hold of his foot and was trying to pull him deeper into the shadowy depths.

Sailor Miyamoto
Score: 7+9

Just as he was walking into something, or something was rolling and wiggling into him, a person approached. They looked like a senshi, which was good, at least they had power. "I'm ok. I was hoping someone would know what's going on, as I haven't a clue." Though he wished he knew, he didn't like not knowing. This was something big, and bad feeling, and he was utterly clueless and so was this person.

It took a moment for him to nod his head, as he wasn't much for other people. "Yeah, fine. It's likely safer if we stick together." Because if it wasn't for that reason he wouldn't have stuck around, wouldn't agree to spending time with someone else, as he was not into people and socializing in any form.

Slowly he started to hear something, which had him tilting his head. "Carnival music...?" Questioning as he glanced about. Something was off, really off. "It sounds like we're in big area...the echo." Which happened in bigger rooms, cause of all the air and lack of things taking up space and some more nonsense. As the ground trembled, and seemed to move, Miyamoto shifted his feet and managed to balance himself so he didn't fall over. "Great. Now the world decides to do a tilt and spin." Because it most certainly was moving - lovely. Not only that but something else felt like it was happening...or it was just his mind playing tricks on him, which could be the case. Looking around he spied something, at least he was sure he did, flickers of light - like robs of fire or maybe something happening in the distance. Whatever it was maybe it had to do with the movement. Pointing it out he nodded his head. "That way I think." Or maybe not, he wasn't sure, but it did seem like an idea.

Sailor Lacerta (of Bandages) (( 3 + 2 ))

As quickly as the attack had been Lacerta realized that her actions may have distracted whatever it had been that was attacking the senshi that she had come to the aid of. Running a hand through her hair the bandage senshi took Arnica's hand and gave a quick squeeze of support and friendship before she replied, "Lacerta, senshi of Bandages. Nice to meet you."

Her voice trailed off as a low rumbling started to echo in the darkness and she grimaced before glancing back at Arnica. Her eyes took in the other's uniform before nodding more to herself. It seemed that this was someone else from Acubens court. At least that was what she kept telling herself. It was why she had decided to help him out. Would Acubens approve of such an act? The redhead thought that it would have been welcome news to hear. Internal musings were cut short though as Lacerta felt the ground beneath her feet shift and split open. Without warning she attempted to shove Arnica out of harms way. Lacerta could feel herself slipping into the chasm that had opened and even more alarming she could feel something clawing desperately at her feet. This wasn't how she was going to die. A fierce longing to escape washed over the bandage senshi and locking her gaze on Arnica she vowed she'd see the Dark Mirror court member delivered safely from this nightmarish void.

What felt like ages, but was probably only minutes, did Lacerta manage to escape the chasm and the things that were trying to drag her down. Although free from that particular danger it had taken its toll. She felt a little sluggish with her movements and could feel yet another shadow creature make contact with her body. The jolt alone was enough to cause Lacerta to wince in surprise, followed by shock as she felt teeth nipping at her heels. Raw determination pushed her onwards ... she needed to find safety with the larger group ... and fast.

Alexandre Evans
Score 6+5

Great, another carnival, he couldn't help but roll his eyes in the darkness. This was not his first time dealing with something carnival related, and he didn't like it one bit, though it was better than that spider incident....or the plants.

Shifting, and stumbling, the ashen blond caught himself after some moments of shifting this way and that, in order to balance himself. Something was right behind him, he was sure of it, he could feel it breathing and hear it stamping the ground. If only he could power up, he did try, than he'd beat whatever it was with his spear. But he was, sadly, without his weapon or the added strength he had as a General. "Aiden!"

Rather than head towards what felt like the center of the room, though he couldn't tell for sure as he couldn't see, Alexandre dove for Aiden and grabbed for his hand. "Not telling you go, lets move." Tugging and pulling he went to get them both towards more stable ground. "It feels like a fun house...the music and all." He was not liking this, by the end of this he figured he'd have a dislike for carnivals and fun houses....or at least a distrust of them.

Super Sailor Nephthys
Score: 7+5

The shaking of the ground was a surprise, a big one, that landed the senshi of vampires on her butt. She was sure that if she were wearing shoes other than these heels, she really didn't like them sometimes, she wouldn't have landed as she did. But she hadn't thought of taking them off, why would she? She had gotten good at running and even doing some fighting in them but this - this was different.

Shivering at the feel of breath on the back of her neck she shifted and scooted away from the stomping and huffing going on behind her. Climbing back to her feet she shook her head, curls bouncing and swinging, and headed towards what she thought might be the center of the room. It certainly felt like it should be this way, for whatever reason.

What was it behind her? She could hear it making all kinds of noises, and none of them left her feeling safe, as she picked up the pace and hurried on her way. She really needed to find others to stay with - safety in numbers. She was not safe like this all on her own, and she knew it.

Transcended Eternal Ida Total: 7

If you roll between a 4-7 you feel that the ground nearby you shifted, and while you didn't fall through a chasm it has left you off balance and disoriented. You receive no damage but you feel one of the shadow creatures behind you. You still cannot see anything, but it is stomping at the ground, headbutting and thrashing the air--and you. You need to move out of this area before the ground collapses. Your best bet is to make it to the center of the stage; the ground might be spinning, but at least it's still stable.

She hadn’t really noted the growing darkness, not at first. Night came sooner in the fall, but it was particularly… oppressive this evening. It made her want to be at home, indoors, with a warm blanket and a movie.

All through Ida’s normal patrol, things felt off… something she couldn’t place. The shadows were darker, somehow. More threatening than she was used to since powering up for the first time. Normally, she was a light to drive them back. Tonight, they crept in on her, pressing close. The sense of wrongness grew, making her jittery and nervous, but the last thing she had expected was hands to appear from those shadows. Hands that grabbed at her and pulled her into the darkness…

The strangeness of the new place was disorienting. She seemed wreathed in light, but the light only extended a short distance, shorter than it rightly should have, Ida felt. Was she still in Destiny City? She couldn’t believe she’d gone far, but with the oddities that often appeared her? She could be in another world for all she knew.

“Hello?” She called, squinting into the dark. She could almost make out… yes, there. Small pinpricks of light, in the distance. Getting brighter the longer she looked at them. Other people? It hardly mattered. Any light was welcoming in this oppressive, enveloping darkness.

Choosing a random one, she began to trot towards it. Sudden obstacles, barking her shins and stubbing her toes, forced Ida to a slower pace, her hands held out in front of her. The darkness felt like a curtain, separating her from the rest of the world. The lights, when she was close enough, resolved into people. Many were civilians, looking scared at their surroundings. Others were powered, as she was. It was comforting, to have those lights close by, but they weren’t the only things in this strange world they were in. Other things, dark, barely seen shapes, moved around them.

Those things got bolder. They moved in the darkness around them and before long, Ida was being jostled by things slamming into her sides as they passed. Fending them off was distracting enough she didn’t hear the music at first, growing eerily louder. There was no missing the sudden shuddering of the ground though. It threw her off balance. Ida became aware suddenly of the crashing and crunching sound, as though unseen walls moved closer. She didn’t fall, but her distraction gave the creatures an opening and they drove her forward, towards the center… or as much as anything seemed like the center of this nightmare

Knight Tanais Total: 5

If you roll between a 4-7 you feel that the ground nearby you shifted, and while you didn't fall through a chasm it has left you off balance and disoriented. ≥≥÷You receive no damage but you feel one of the shadow creatures behind you. You still cannot see anything, but it is stomping at the ground, headbutting and thrashing the air--and you. You need to move out of this area before the ground collapses. Your best bet is to make it to the center of the stage; the ground might be spinning, but at least it's still stable.

Tanais didn’t know where she was, but she was pissed about it. Something had reached out of the shadows and grabbed her, pulling her kicking and fighting into the darkness. She come up with fists flying when she’d been released, but there had been nothing there, not at first. Just more darkness in all directions… things moving in it when she paused to stretch her senses. She’d gone charging after the first one, but it had evaded her, slipping out of her reach each time.

A scowl pinched the knight’s face as she glared around herself, noting with half her mind the little lights she could see now around them. The creatures were getting bolder and if those lights were people, glowing like she was, then they were in danger here. Something rushed her from the side and she spun on it, swinging for anything she could reach, but it slipped away from her again. Again and again, that flat, strange music growing louder. It wasn’t quite a distraction… but it set her teeth on edge, raising the fine hair at her nape. The ground rumbled, shifting under her feet and throwing off her balance. Something slammed into her from the side and Tanais stumbled, catching herself on one knee. She had to get to more solid ground. She couldn’t fight these things without a more stable ground to make her defense.

Pushing herself to her feet, Tanais made her way towards the center, cursing when she stumbled over unseen things in the unnatural darkness.

Mauvian Liryn (human form)

Quote:
If you roll between 8-10 you feel the turbulence of the ground moving, but the patch of land you are on is stable--for now. You may already be on the spinning platform and suffer no damage, but if you aren't you need to make it to the center of the stage; the ground might be spinning, but at least it's still stable. You may have mild disorientation but suffer no real damage. Without the shadow creatures bothering you, you notice something strange in the distance: small sparks and tiny glowing orbs that seem to flicker in and out of existence like little wisps of fire bursting to life and immediately burning out.

Liryn had heard the voice first, his tabby ears flicking - because the voice was most definitely not Athene, it also sounded familiar, almost like–

"Ele" purplish eyes brightened as he spotted first the the white-haired senshi of heat and the blue-haired senshi of cold "And Alcor too!" His bare feet half bounding against the ground as he closed what was left of the distance between them.

It had been a while since he had seen the twins, with the last time he had seen Eleonora being their little trip back during the summer and it had been even longer since he'd last seen Alcor.

"I'm okay" he said before admitting, "Although I have no idea where 'here' is." His ears drooped slightly as he continued "Athene and I were out on patrol before I got dragged to wherever here is, but we got separated, so..."

His voice trailed off, the rest of the sentence unspoken as the sound of music got stronger and more distinct, his ears flicking once again "Do you hear that?" Because it sounded almost like the sort of music that played at the carnival–

Not that he was given any real time to actually contemplate said music given the way that the ground chose that moment to give a sudden tremor, parts of it lurching almost drunkenly as it started to splinter, his purplish eyes turning serious as they took in the spreading cracks.

"We should probably move" he said as he looked to first Eleonora and then Alcor, because whilst the ground beneath his feet seemed to be relatively stable, it was hard to tell if that would remain the case what with the way that the cracks appeared to be slowly continuing to spread.

Briar MacKenzie (unpowered of Super Chibi Oort)

Quote:
If you roll between a 1-3, you feel the ground breaking apart beneath you; more than just falling, it feels like something is grabbing your feet and trying to drag you away. You manage to escape, but it's draining and you have to fight with falling debris that you can't even see. Even when you pull yourself out of the growing chasm, one of the shadow creatures seems is at your back, stomping and breathing and nipping. Your best bet is to make it to the center of the stage; the ground might be spinning, but at least it's still stable.

As it happened maybe he should have factored in the 'Destiny City' effect when considering the chances because as it turned out it was Peter. Haven too - well at least he was guessing Haven, although Briar didn't really know her as well as some of the others in their kind of little group–

And it seemed like the shadow things or whatever the things were that had dragged them to whatever this place was had been particularly unkind to Peter, because while Briar wasn't exactly enthused to have been dragged out here - in fact he was very much not enthused - he at least had all of his clothes including the aforementioned fuzzy slippers that he was going to pretend that he knew nothing about.

He walked closer, raising his hand in a small wave.

"Hey" the greeting was directed at Peter and Haven both "Do you know if any of the others got dragged here?" Giving a small huff as Peter threw his arm around his shoulder, although it was more habit than anything else and Peter probably knew him well enough by now to know that.

He opened say something else, but at that moment a new voice spoke up, the source a dark-haired woman who gave her name as Sailor Lysithea, giving Peter an awkward somewhat shrug at his unspoken question since the other still had his arm around his shoulders.

After all Lysithea wasn't wearing huge amount of black and she didn't seem to have any creepy-looking holes, so perhaps it would be okay to let her know that they were senshi too–

But on the other hand, he didn't actually have his henshin pen with him since it wasn't as if he'd planned for creepy shadow hands or to end up in this shadow place and so it wasn't as if he could power up. Instead he opted for an awkward nod at Lysithea at her request to stay by them "Sure," a slight frown flickering across his face as he heard the music "Do you..."

His voice trailed off in a sudden yelp as the ground chose that particular moment to lurch and crumble beneath his feet sending him tumbling awkwardly, a fuzzy slipper clad foot trying to kick awkwardly - and ineffectively - as something tried to grab for it, even as bits started tumbling downwards and about him, stupid invisible but very real feeling bits–

Bits that most definitely hadn't been there before.

The sound of something splintering distracted him, Athene stumbling as the ground suddenly shifted from beneath his feet.

He kept his balance, albeit barely, his gaze drawn to the cracks in the ground - cracks that most definitely hadn't been there earlier.

The stomping from earlier seemed closer too, although it was hard to tell given that he still couldn't see anything–

Although Athene didn't need to see whatever was causing the stomping to know that it probably wasn't something that he wanted to see up close.

"I don't think we can stay here" he said quietly as he turned towards Anxo, his hand moving to point towards somewhere further up and central - somewhere that was hopefully more stable. "I think that mayhaps we should try to head that way."

Irkalla, Page of Cosmos (( 7 + 8 ))

The shifting ground was enough to turn Irkalla's attention from shadowy figures to the newest crisis at hand. The Page of Cosmos figured it was now time to start moving towards safer ground. It was a close call too. All of a sudden the ground shifted and Irkalla danced off the section she'd been standing on to a less perilous area. As the ground cracked and shifted she gave up trying to even figure out what was going on and continued on her way to the safest ground possible. It seemed to work too. Irkalla was in an area that didn't seem to be at risk of spinning off into the distance.

Pushing herself upright she moved towards the center of the platform and noted the orbs of light. While pretty and intriguing she just wanted to go home.

Sailor Adorea, Senshi of Optimism
(Roll History: 7+4 = 11)

"Oh well," Adorea smiled at Mia, glancing back towards Ananke who also seemed to have taken a tumble. Whatever was lurking in the shadows seemed inclined to bring them to their knees and she had been fortunate to avoid it. Fortunately she was uniquely qualified to be useful in these situations, with injury came a renewed sense of purpose...one that she'd been struggling to fill for quite some time.

"Hang on!" She took a step backwards, just enough to get both Mia's and Ananke's light into view. It wasn't a perfect aim but that was all that was required for her ability, crude as it was, it didn't require pinpoint accuracy to ensure it was successful and so...

"Adorea Optimistic Smile!" It was with a flourish that she flashed a warm smile towards both parties, she hadn't settled into any particularly unique pose, but whatever she had done had certainly begun to serve its purpose. She didn't maintain the pose for long though and no sooner had she ceased in her 'assistance' than she found herself tumbling into oblivion.

"Oh fu -"

She was falling and it took every portion of her strength to grab on to something nearby that looked stable and hang on. It would take her several more minutes to get enough strength to pull herself up as well, the ground was so incredibly volatile that a quick recovery wasn't possible at this stage.

Power Info!
Sailor Scout Attack: Adorea Optimistic Smile!
Adorea calls the name of her attack and smiles at an ally; the ally will immediately feel like everything is going to turn out well, that everything is going to be okay.

Scrapes/abrasions will be healed for as long as the magic lasts. The effects of this attack last 30 seconds, and it can be used three times a battle.
