Captain Lopezite Score: 7+6+7 (20)
Lopezite had been staring off into the empty space again when Alpersite spoke; there was a sad look on his expression, like he knew that it was an illusion but he didn't want to see it fade. When Alpersite stumbled backwards, it jerked Lopezite just enough that he snapped his gaze to him; he was determined not to be separated and hadn't let go of his hand.
Another vine swooped and caught him in the leg; he hissed loudly and knew he'd have a bruise in the morning. He wasn't sure if it had drawn blood but it hurt. This whole scene was a disaster; his eyes burned and his throat burned, but he couldn't be weak.
He couldn't whine or gripe; he needed to be on top of things, he needed to make sure Alpersite was okay.
"I'm fine," he assured, even if he wasn't entirely sure of it. Another vine came at them, but this time he wasn't messing around; in his free hand he unsheathed his sword and hacked at the vine, sending it twisting backwards as if in pain.
"Not happy, but fine. Are you okay?" He pulled him closer, sword wielded and determined to just hack this thing to pieces, every last vine, if it meant stopping this insanity.

Super Sailor Caia, Senshi of Cardinals Score: 3+7+9 (19)
Caia's mother was back, as beautiful as ever. Reaching for him, and he so badly wanted to lean into her arms. He wondered if she'd hug him, if she'd kiss him, if she'd tell him everything would be okay. He wanted it, so badly. The thoughts burned in the pit of his stomach. He needed it, but...
The weight in his arms--of Sapphirine--the sound of her coughing was loud in his ears. Of her shaking, in his arms.
He looked at his mother, longingly, but she was gone again.
She'd always been gone.
Moisture built in his eyes, but this wasn't the first time he'd cried for her and it wouldn't be the last. "Hey," he said to the girl in his arms. "Turn into my chest," he said, trying to move her closer. "Don't breathe that in. I've got you, you're safe."
He smelled the pollen--it tickled his nose and he could feel the build up of it down his throat, but he'd spent so much time working with candles and all those scents that he'd built up a resistance to irritation. Probably.
He held the girl close still, navigating away; a vine swung around and he let out a yelp. He could have avoided it, probably; if it was just him he'd have stumbled out of the way. But it wasn't him--he wanted to protect her. He didn't hesitate to hold her tighter, trying to shield her from everything, and kicked at the vine with such force it made a wet snapping noise and flopped weakly on the ground.

Super Sailor Adria, Senshi of Sunset Score: 4+9+5 (18 )
Adria was blinded again, another illusion and he knew it, even though it seemed so real. He could feel the pressure on his wrist, so tight that it felt like he'd bruise. He was struggling, torn again by the desire to go--and the knowledge that he was needed here. People needed his help. Kibi--
He froze, and his own illusion didn't seem as powerful anymore when he was overwhelmed with the thought that she could be in danger--she and the other Dark Mirror Senshi she was with.
"Kibirev," he whispered, as if in a dream. He said her name, louder, and the illusion in front of him flickered.
A third time, and he was choking on the words; he felt a vine slam into his side and if he needed any reassurance that now was not the time to be reminiscing and falling for illusions, now was it.
He wasn't ready to give up; another vine hit him and he gasped, but Kibirev was on the ground and he knew she wasn't going to be safe down there.
He coughed and squinted his eyes, trying to stop the burning; he could see her well enough to wrap his arms around her and pull her up. "Come on," he said, desperately. "I've got you."

Squire Mamertine Score: 9+5+3 (17)
Mamertine noticed the chill first. The smiling face of his father, the gentle outstretched hand. Like everything was okay. Like this was how it was supposed to be.
Mamertine was tired. Tired, like he hadn't eaten, or slept, or had coffee in days. Tired, like he'd buried himself in work and forgotten to take care of himself.
Tired, like he could lay down and sleep.
The offer was temping; his body felt heavy.
If it weren't for the sudden flash of Shiloh's face in his mind, he might have let the fatigue overwhelm him--but that face alone was enough to make him shake his head--just as a thorny vine grazed his leg. It hurt, but only enough to shake him out of his stupor.
Just a bit.
It felt like he was treading through sludge. Another vine grazed him, and the pollen in the air was making it difficult to see, to breathe.
...But he couldn't lay down. He couldn't give up.
He swung his hammer at the nearest vine--tired, exhausted, but with the thought in mind that he needed to get home to Shiloh sooner rather than later.
...And he'd need a likely excuse, too.

Sailor Arnica, Dark Mirror Senshi of Mandragora Score: 7+7+5 (19)
He was back, and Arnica's stomach flopped when he found himself lost in the illusion, even if only for a few seconds. It left his chest hurting, his heart hurting--he could feel where they'd touched...
And then he felt the vine slamming into the back of his leg. He'd scrambled to overcome the sudden assault, but as soon as he was back on his feet, he was searching for Kibirev. She was still at his side, but a little worse off now than before.
Even though he seemed friendly, Arnica had tensed when the White Moon Senshi had come to help. Given how much stronger both the White Moon Senshi and Kibirev were compared to himself he supposed he couldn't be upset when it seemed like all the guy was doing was trying to help.
...He'd take any help anyone was offering if it meant keeping his sister safe.
He moved to Kibirev's side and wrapped an arm around her, trying to rub her back.
"Kibi," he said softly, soothingly. "I've got you, are you okay?"

Desperation is thick in the air now. The strange, alien plant attacking the group is outnumbered and outmatched, and it may not have understood Earth or the creatures on it very well but it understood that it was in danger. The fireflies were fading quickly; most of them had exploded in loud, flashy bursts. A few hovered in the air, bobbing around the group--waiting for the right moment to strike, or maybe valuing their own well being.
The vines are thrashing, albeit weaker now despite the desperation.
Some of the vines seem to be sparkling, though--a strange, glittering light not unlike the fireflies. A low hissing sound is echoing in the area and the heat is rising.
Something is happening--and it doesn't look good.

If you roll between 8-13 you manage to avoid the vines. The rising temperature is uncomfortable but only fuels you; you notice what looks to be a patch of rotting leaves on the monster and have the opportunity to deliver a devastating blow. If you roll between a 4-7 one of the sparkling vines makes it too close for comfort; it whistles through the air and raises the temperature immensely. At player discretion it may cause burns or a burning sensation upon making contacts. If you roll between a 1-3 one of the sparkling vines explodes, like a firework, near enough to you to send you flying backwards. The heat is overwhelming and the whistling sensation is loud enough that it can make it almost impossible to hear for the few seconds after it explodes. It is bright enough that it can cause temporary blindness and disorient you. At player discretion the vine may also cause burns or a burning sensation.
Please keep track of your roll totals in bold red font at the top of your post!
If you choose to, you may respond from the prompt you roll to or any prompt lower, but you cannot respond to a prompt higher than what you rolled! The damage you take is entirely up to you. You can only roll once per prompt and if you make a mistake, simply strike out your post. Please do not delete rolls! You may continue to RP between prompts. New prompts will be posted at ~10PM EST July 5th. While you can join at any point in the roleplay, you cannot make up lost rolls!

Lost in the haze of exhaustion, her mother hovering over her, Orah had no fight left in her. She wasn’t even sure why she was supposed to be fighting… it all felt very far away. The lights and noise, the pain of cuts and burns… they felt like they were happening to someone else. Surely not to her.
She felt warm, bands wrapped around the limbs she faintly felt growing hotter in a dim sort of way, growing almost uncomfortable, almost enough to reach through the haze… And then everything went a blinding white. Everything came apart then.
Orah felt herself flung to the side, her skin burning, and spots washing across her vision into a solid blank wall. Her head spun and the pain rushed in, overwhelming the exhaustion as she wrapped an arm around her head and tried to struggle up onto her knees. Everything hurt… had someone been trying to help her? She’d lost track of them in the haze and with the ringing in her ears, she could hardly tell up from down any more, or in what direction the danger lay. She remembered now… a plant had grabbed her, they were fighting it. But which way?
Crouched low to the ground, Orah struggled to make sense of where she was, and which way led to safety.
Sailor Ananke Super Senshi of Portals Total Rolls: 8 + 5 + 4 + 8
Reorientating herself as best she could Ananke through a kick at the vine that was attacking the chibi senshi... As she saw she wasn't going to be able to do much she then realized that there seemed to be the main piece of the plant that seemed like it could cause some real damage.
With a quick sprint, she headed towards it dodging the vines that attacked her. With a quick dodge, she was able to get one of the vines to hit itself.

There seemed to be an element of desperation in the plant's actions as Idavollr did her best to try and press closer towards where she had last seen Arian's flatmate–
Well at least in as much as a plant, no matter how vicious or murderous, could be desperate.
Idavollr smacked out another vine, had lost count at just how many of the things she had done the same to, not noticing the way how the fireflies appeared to have stopped dive bombing her or the way that those that still remained were instead hovering by the bulk of the psycho plant–
She did, however, notice that the thrashing vines appeared to be thrashing a little less vigorously - or maybe that was just wishful thinking...
Unfortunately the hissing was not wishful thinking - and Idavollr didn't really want to get too close to whatever was causing it - not given everything else that had happened so far–
A figure, in tattered purple suddenly went flying, momentarily distracting her.
Orah?
And then the figure was momentarily forgotten as something collided momentarily with the back of her over-dress, a startled shriek of pain torn from Idavollr's throat as it left a burning sensation in its wake.

Alpersite nodded, staying close to Lopezite and making sure he didn’t get pulled away, and for a moment, he enjoyed the closeness, the warmth of his Captain’s body, but then suddenly it was just too hot, and the lieutenant gave a yelp as a vine that looked as though it was on fire swiped at him, hitting him firmly on the chest.
Pain radiated through the area that it hit, and for a moment he was very glad for his uniform. As he looked down and saw the blackened, slightly smoking fabric, he felt a little dizzy, wondering what might have happened if he hadn’t been so well covered.
“S-stay away from the vines it…god, is it always like this? Is this what I have to look forward to now, Lopezite?” There was a note of panic in his voice, and he looked as though he hoped he’d get a better answer than he expected.

There didn't seem to be much he could do in this situation, at all. If Nataniel tried to leave, the plant's vines whipped out, unceremoniously snagging him to drag him back. If he tried to fight- what on earth could he possibly do against a giant beast plant like this? He wasn't so foolish to think that punching the tendrils that came at him or others would cause much damage, and despite the honed strength he did have from his meticulous workout, he was still easily overwhelmed.
Nataniel staggered backward, putting a few feet of space between himself and the boy who'd chased him moments ago. The more spread out they were as targets, the less likely it would be to have the ability to attack all of them. There must be a limit to how many vines it could protrude.
And that was simply all Nataniel could do in this situation: put distance between himself and other targets.
It mattered as much as he might have expected, to be honest. Even if he could avoid the lashing vines, the sharp tang of oppressive pollen still hung heavy in the air, making breathing laborious, and causing flickers of the hallucination to dot the edges of his vision. What was this thing? Where had it come from? Why was this happening? Nataniel couldn't say, but even though it was difficult to value an action he thought was senseless (there was nothing he could do, there was simply no thought worth acting on that may aid this struggle), that boy had sounded so scared.
If he could lure things away from him, even fleetingly, to inspire an extra moment's worth of comfort, then maybe he'd stop screaming, as he had been, and Nat could ponder more peacefully over whatever was happening now.
He stepped sidelong, and for a second, a bright, glittering spot entered his vision. Nataniel had seen how the fireflies responded to people, he knew what they did, but it was here, as many were, before him now, immediately in his way, and-
The sound it made registered in his mind before anything else, a high, snappish shriek accompanied by a dazzling, searing light and a wave of heat and dirst and debris. Nataniel hit the ground again, shoved backward by the force of an explosion as the firefly ignited, breath coming in short, rapid exhales that didn't help the dizziness. "Ngh..." Particles of it (he assumed), dusted his face and the front of his shirt, leaving hot little marks where it touched.
And there was simply nothing to do about it.

Sailor Adorea - Senshi of Optimism Total Rolls: 9+6+5+5 (25)
This wasn't going as well as she would have wanted, but in the grand scheme of things she hadn't expected it to go that well. This was far out of her comfort zone and realm of expertise but the drive to survive seemed to have done something to ensure she didn't end up dead. She was relieved though, through small favours her new found companions were also safe... But it hadn't come without a cost. These vines, the fireflies, the scent; everything about this plant were toxic and painful to the point that she had more than her fair share of abrasions.
...And it seemed to have no interest in allowing the assault to abate.
Her newfound power and reflexes ensured she was able to dodge, duck and dive, but not without several of the vines coming far too close. They whistled through the air and on one occasion, she found them within a hair's breath of her nose, enough to rise the heat in the air around her and give a sharp bite. The distraction was enough to allow it to clip her, burning along her arms - it was enough to smart but not enough to leave lasting scarring.
A distraction none-the-same.
Focus!
Electing to become a touch more creative, she copied Ananke as the other senshi sought to have the vines assault themselves. If she couldn't damage it with any ability she had, then she could sure as hell make sure it damaged itself!

Abeosamu Chibi Senshi of Penguins Total roll: 6+3+3+6=18
The plant was desperate now. The little lightening bugs were exploding out like fireworks, save a few that hovered in the sky above, quite possibly contemplating whether going out with a boom was worth it. A hissing filled the air, as the flailing vines began to glow, and the temperature began to rise. One vine in particular came lashing out dangerously close to Abeosamu. She could feel the heat coming off of it as it zoomed past. It reminded her of a spakler in a way. She struggled against the plant with a renewed vigor. She didn't want to end up getting burned. She had to win this fight!
