Soon enough the test was underway. Not too surprisingly it was a written test, however after scanning the questions Yuno realized that the reason it was a written test was because it was a hard test. Several questions abounded about shinobi conflict and complex subjects of jutsu. Diving right in to it she picked up her pencil and got to work. If a katon jutsu collides with a suiton jutsu which would typically win? What a simple question its of course going to be the the suiton technique. She marked in her answer with neat girly handwriting. Thew test was going well, she felt like she was making food progress when finally she reached a topic asking her to calculate kunai arcs for a potential collision. That one gave her pause, math had never been her strong suit. Still she'd taken comprehensive notes in class and studied each chapter diligently. It couldn't be said that Yuno was an academic slacker.

Breaking down the question into several steps she carved up the problem into easily digestible bites. Before making any marks she thought out the formula and necessary equation in her head. Slowly the answer came together and she was able to move. However another section soon gave her pause. It asked for the hand signs required to mold chakra for the bunshin technique. Clones were another weak point of hers. They were never as beautiful as the original and thus she'd despised learning the technique. Time ticked away as she sat stuck on that question. At least until she decided to go through the motions of almost making the damn thing right there during the test. Keeping her hands within her lap she quickly went through the seals to refresh her memory. The proctor coughed and she almost blushed slightly out of thinking she was being regarded as a cheater. Finally it seemed as if the hard ones were out of the way and she was able to start quickly answering questions once again. Once every question was answered she checked her work over twice before before getting up and bringing her test up to be graded. If she passed she'd be walking away with a headband.

    1) chakra or stamina, if they uses a formless technique to dodge it would cost a C-rank worth of stamina.

    2) C-Rank

    3) B. A Sannin

    4) The fire technique is treated as if a B rank and loses the collision due to being weak to water techs

    5) The water technique is treated as if D rank because it is weak to doton and the two then cancel out as they're the same rank after other considerations

    6) A B-rank's worth

    7) No

    8 ) No

    9) The A ranked technique absorbs the B- rank technique and does additional damage

    10) A S-rank amount

Not surprisingly, Son Yuno had been the first of the shinobi two get up and turn in her test. Checking over her answers scarcely took more than a minute, and at the end the teacher reached into her desk and procured a pink headband, metal in the center bearing the symbol for lightning. "Congratulations, Son Yuno Park!"

Souta wandered into the Academy for a long overdue bit of training. He'd always had trouble with Ninjutsu, struggling to form his base elemental chakra properly, but now he had to learn not only the basic set of techniques required by the Academy, but those that properly matched his Shoton chakra. First up was Kai, which he learned by studying absent someone to put him in a genjutsu like was suggested. Considering it simply required an overwhelming amount of chakra, he considered it fairly simple, and quickly moved one.
                        [ Kai | Rank X ]

A lot of the Academy jutsu would be a walk in the park, figuratively speaking, since Souta only ever really struggled with his base elements. Not that he really had an affinity for the other stuff, it just wasn't nearly as hard. His first attempt at Bunshin was a bit wonky, way too much chakra and way too little control. That always seemed to happen. A bit of adjustment, and Souta was back in control though, his clone turning up as a perfect replication of himself and then disappearing again in a cloud of smoke. Pretty straight forward.
                        [ Bunshin no Jutsu | Rank E ]

Henge, or the transformation jutsu, was actually a technique Souta was quite fond of. He wished his mother had been around to help him with this one, but alas it was just him. He performed his transformation momentarily, mimicking the appearance of his parents' sage mode transformation with an acceptable level of accuracy, and decided that would suffice for now. It wasn't ever going to be his bread and butter, but at least he had it in his pocket.
                        [ Henge no Jutsu | Rank E ]

Substitution was the next up on Souta's list, and, well, it was likely to be the most useful pure ninjutsu in the boy's arsenal at any point moving forward. He performed it perfectly the first time through, having always been fond of movement based techniques. This one wasn't quite the same as others in that category, but it would allow him to pull off more high risk physical attacks without worry about potentially getting caught by an opponent. Hopefully he wouldn't have to lean on it to get out of trouble and could, instead, make use of it to perform some more high-flying attacks.
                        [ Substitution Technique | Rank E ]

The most annoying training on the list, water walking. At least the Academy had built a shallow pool for this so Souta could train without getting soaked. He had to leave his shoes on though, to practice proper chakra focusing for combat scenarios, so he had brought a backup pair. He got the standing part pretty easily, but it was clear his efficiency wasn't quite there. The water rippled around his feet even when he didn't move, and he was so unstable that he had to cancel the jutsu entirely a couple times. Thank goodness for foresight. It didn't take him too long to grasp the concept, but, well, this particular technique clearly wasn't his forte.
[ Art of Walking on Water | D Rank ]

Wall walking was the last on the list, and easily the easiest to figure out how to train. There was no shortage of walls to go around, but just like with water walking a special space had been created specifically for training this fundamental technique. It featured a wall of softer material that would break the way a normal wall wouldn't if you didn't find the right balance. As was to be expected, the boy's first few attempts were plagued by mistakes stemming from overuse of chakra. A bit of experimentation and he had the problem sorted, however. His mind immediately wandered to how he could use it, and he had to pull himself back to focus on further learning.

Souta moved on to a bit of training set forth by the Academy. It was meant to be more a bit of preparation for the world ahead. Get the students in the habit of training. Meditation was easy, just a bit of simple sitting, relaxing, and thinking. It was something his mother had always preached as a good idea, but that he'd always struggled to sit through.[1/5]

He did, however, feel somewhat less rambunctious lately. They assigned an amount of time for each segment, and he felt capable of just continuing. He practiced some handseals during this particular segment of the meditation, having already settled his chakra. It wasn't the most interesting training regiment he'd ever been through, but if it helped him have a bit more chakra that was worth it.[2/5]

Next up he worked to move his chakra around a bit more. Focusing on moving it to each of his major extremities. As the Arashikage put it, "this is the most important". He'd gotten an explanation from her once, when he was slightly younger. Something about it helped him more naturally mold the energy need for techniques without thinking.[3/5]

Not that he didn't believe her, but, well, he had no problem getting chakra to go where he wanted it. As with his training, though, it always seemed like his issue was with quantity. Specifically he needed to work extremely hard not to use too much of it.[4/5]

Perhaps quantity was something to focus on as he continued into his next round of meditation. This one was, however, over, technically. Though all that really meant was that Souta popped up and did a lap around the Academy. A good run helped clear his head and he found it to be a vital element of this routine.[5/5]

Jog over, the son of the Arashikage plopped back down in his previous spot and crossed his legs again. He'd come to the conclusion that he needed to work on volume of chakra flow. It was unlikely he'd fix it through this process, but, with luck and a bit of hard work, he'd improve it.[1/5]

To train that element he'd focus on moving chakra into his smaller extremities, specifically fingers and toes. This would help him tell when he was going overboard, as they'd start to ache a little bit when they were overloaded. It wasn't a terribly scientific manner of training, but it'd work.[2/5]

As he expected, Souta's first attempt at gathering chakra in his fingers resulted in a bit of pain. It built rapidly at first, feeling like someone had stepped on his fingers - a surprisingly frequent occurrence thanks to Yuno. He let it die down, though, before trying again.[3/5]

For his next attempt, Souta focused primarily on control. He wanted as small an amount of chakra as possible. Carefully, he focused on building up chakra at the same rate as he had before. It took longer than was ideal, but eventually it reached a level that he could feel it.[4/5]

Having achieved his first bit of training, Souta popped up and shook out his arms and legs. Sitting around never really agreed with him, and while he was years from the point at which it'd make him sore, he didn't really want to keep it up anymore. And so, he returned to his jog and did another lap before moving on.[5/5]
                        [ Simple Training: Meditate x 2 ]

Souta moved on to performing a technique as training. The clone technique was a perfect choice for this on his part. There wasn't a jutsu accessible to him, save the substitution jutsu, that would be exceptionally useful.[1/5]

As before, Souta created a clone to do his bidding. Though, this would be a slight bit less nefarious than his recent activities. For now they would both just go for a jog around the training facility, as Souta tested the clone's capabilities.[2/5]

At this level the clone was fully capable of keeping up with its creator in almost every aspect. It was at least as fast and strong, if not more so. It also possessed all his reaction time and lack of ability to hit targets with pinpoint precision.[3/5]

With time the clone would only get stronger, but it wasn't really meant for strength. When Souta reached his full potential, he very much expected to be able to vastly out match it. Instead it would be an outlet for his clever abilities and creative approach to fights, or so he hoped.[4/5]

Jog complete, it was time for Souta to move on to something else. With another hand seal he dismissed his clone with a poof of smoke. Now he was left to ponder what he would do for his final little bit of chakra training.[5/5]

For his second "performance" Souta decided he'd work on the substitution technique. He figured it would be nifty to get used to using it on items in his environment. The question was, which item would he substitute with first?[1/5]

The most obvious candidate was one of the many training dummies. They wer roughly the same size as a normal person, meaning they easily fit the relative size requirement. And, of course, they weren't a living being.[2/5]

It was certainly a far more interesting option than the standard magic log switch. Now Souta just needed to focus on his target. Gathering chakra around it was currently a challenge for the academy student, but he managed it without too much fanfare.[3/5]

The result was a strange sensation, as the boy suddenly poofed away. In his place was a training dummy. It teetered precariously for a second before finally settling back onto its base as if it had been there all along.[4/5]

The practice would always be useful, that much was never in doubt. However, Souta felt like he hadn't achieved quite as much as he'd hoped through this process. He also felt like he'd be back at it soon, which was a daunting proposition for someone who just wanted to get out there and do stuff.[5/5]

...My flames are black as night...

It had been a slow day in class, voluntary attendance for some of the more specialized tricks of the trade. For Kinu, it was more required of her to attend school still, to keep her mind sharp and to familiarize with the new village's lessons. They were all similar by nature, yet different in a few key ways that made each attendance necessary. Among the students, she passed them by with a pack clutched tightly. They moved on with their day with a smile given to those who recognized her, she was a bit of a regular now. Away from the history, tactics and other topics in the academy, Kinu had some fundementals of her own to cover.

With an open space to herself, Kinu dropped the pack to her right and sat down, stretching out and staring up at the sky and then the mountain that shadowed the academy itself. With a moment to appreciate the open sky, Kinu rose back to her feet and began to go through a series of seals to practice her techniques. Among the first was a standard technique common among Uchiha youth and a close guarded secret. With just a flick of the wrist, a plume of smoke erupted and in her hand was a kunai knife as the technique was just then performed. Subtle as it were, it helped her keep a stash of tools without wearing them openly. - Lightning Seal

She spun the blade with a finger through the rung, the steel blade moving through the air so it blurred its shape. She snapped her hand shut around the grip of the weapon itself and secured a piece of line to its ring, and in the same motion had thrown it through the air at the wall. The only tell tale sign of the wire's use was the occasional glint of light as the blade stopped just short of the wall. With a flick and twist of her wrist, she instead redirected the blade into the ground and left the wall itself unscathed. With another twist she pulled the projectile back through the air and into her hand as the same wire retracted. - Manipulated Shuriken

Like others of the clan, Kinu possesed the fire elemental chakra nature, many of her skills were revolved around this and Magatama was of no exception. A few hand seals followed a string of the needed focus as she set her visual ona single point before her. Fire came alive as it took shape in the form of a magatama, the technique's namesake, and now it spun. Slowly at first but now it spun with a speed that blurred the shape of the technique so it looked like a complete circle from its blur. Moving her hands, she manipulated the flame as a projectile and attacked a target to see a shower of blackened flame erupt from impact. - Magatama

Another tring of seals followed as soon as the magatama struck true, these altering from the ones needed for the previous technique and instead for another. Kinu dropped to a single knee as she would pretend as if she had an attacker returning fire. Upon completion of seals, she reached out with her hands splayed and now black flames spread out in the air in front of her. There a mass of solid flame formed large enough to shield her from an imaginary assualt. The shield itself was sturdy yet she wondered just how durable it was as she prepared for another. - Shield of the Storm God

With subtle moves of the hand, Kinu used the lightning seal as she touched her wrist. Three shuriken were essentially willed into existence as she threw them all at once toward her shield that was still standing. Soon as she flung the shuriken and they were careening toward the shield, the seals were commenced and now her shuriken lit aflame the instant before the made contact with the shield. As she expected, the flaming projectiles punched through the shield and continued along but free of their flaming coating. An interesting technique that would come well to serve her in self defense. - Breath

Souta moved on to training his, well, weakness. Ninjutsu started, in this case, with the earth clone skill. Not a terribly hard technique, and Souta performed it easily after his previous training with clones. He had no idea how a dirt clone would be helpful, but, hey, one more tool.
                        [ Earth Clone Skill ]

The next technique was probably best described as a distraction. All it did was lift and throw a small stone some distance away. Again, fairly straightforward, and not terribly hard to pull off, but was one more tool in the toolbox.
                        [ Rock Throw Technique ]

Stone Bracers was the first technique that Souta found to be even remotely useful from the list of stuff open to academy students. It would create stone armor of a sort that could stand up to some attacks. He didn't know how useful it'd be after he graduated to Genin, but for now it'd be a nifty little trick to use when he got in a fight of some sort.
                        [ Stone Bracers ]

Earth Military Movement was a classic, and you'd be hard pressed to make it through the academy without at least learning about it. In essence, it turned the ground into water, and allowed the user to "swim" around in it. What it actually did was a bit of a mystery, but it was great for moving around a battlefield.
[ Earth Military Movement Technique ]

Swift Earth was Souta's last available Doton technique, and he was thankful to be done with it. All it really did was make a stretch of earth move like a conveyor belt. Not overwhelmingly useful, but if employed creatively, perhaps enough to gain a slight advantage in a deadlocked fight.
                        [ Swift Earth ]

Onto Suiton, an element that the boy actually enjoyed thematically, but that he struggled no less at. First up was Water Manipulation, an incredibly scalable technique that allowed him to summon water when he needed it. It was probably more useful to someone who expected to know more
                        [ Water Manipulation ]

Trick of Water was much more up Souta's ninjutsu alley than most of the other available techniques. It was more utility than brute force and it might give him an advantage in a fight. For all his cute and proper looks, Souta wasn't above fighting a little dirty, and the ability to do it almost at will would be a pretty useful tool provided he could find a way to work it into his combos.
                        [ Trick of Water ]

The Water Mirror Technique allowed Souta to turn a liquid surface into a mirror like reflective pool. He didn't really see the point, as water always laid flat and he didn't personally intend to run around looking at the ground. It was on the list though, so he learned it anyways. It'd at least earn him kudos.
                        [ Water Mirror Technique ]

Finally a bit of offense from the suiton techniques, but only a very little bit. It wasn't very strong, hitting with about as much force as a hand in a game of tag. That said, he could always use it to do something like throw a projectile off course if an enemy was lackadaisical about their throwing weapons.
                        [ Fish Spit ]

Water Sword was the last technique Souta planned to learn from the available ninjutsu, period. It was also easily the most useful to him. Who would turn down a scaling water sword? That was just too cool conceptually for him to pass up even if he was feel especially uninterested in learning more ninjutsu. It'd be useful to him for the foreseeable future, and that was as good a reason as any to pick it up.

...My flames are black as night...

Kinu had covered some of the basics of her clan's ninjutsu with a few innate abilities that had came naturally to her from heritage and natural ability with flames. Sitting down, she was reading over the contents of a scrolls with a marking that read 'Lightning'. Within such a scroll were different techniques involving the electrical element that were capable of bringing static death onto a foe. Her uses for such an offensive element were limited yet it wasn't bad practice to look into such methods for defending herself as was common for most shinobi.

I rather prefer to avoid conflict with another... Kinu thought to herself, the scroll at her feet as she gave a long, steady exhale to clear the mind. Lightning is quite dangerous, but it might just save my life someday. Kinu went through a few practice handseals, memorizing the different steps and the flow for her technique to manifest itself. Holding her hand out, a spark of lightning cracked and rippled over her arm just before a lance of lightning shot forth. The electrical zap struck true on the test dummy and been over as quick as it had began, blue electrical particles lingering on the impact zone momentarily, crackling before fading to silence.

The upgrade of the technique was a bit more lethal than the traditional bolt fired from the fingertips as Kinu reviewed the process to replicate it. With a bit of work, it could be maintained instead as a continual beam over just the bolt. The seals were nearly identical as was the release as her hand extended forth again but now a near solidified beam of electrical energy shot out. The test target was covered by the beam and Kinu ended the technique with a slight jump. She was surprised by the sudden increase in power for just a slight alteration of the technique itself.

From blast to beam, Kinu did the same exact seals this time around with increased enthusiasm. Chakra whirled alive around her arms now as she extended her hand a third, final, time as the light dimmed around the fingertips followed by a distortion like mirage. The same continuous beam shout out with an increased intensity with its wide, bright mass punching into the test target. The chakra control around the attack was precise or else she feared it would backfire as the least of her worries yet she halted the technique, the electrical hum in the air lingering even then as the target remained crackling from the beam. Impressive... if a bit frightening.

This was far from his first day at the Academy. He'd been coming here for some time -- since he was far younger, on a schedule highly variable; no class was flexible enough to receive him consistently, with the difficulty of Christian raising his father in the home. Tonight, like any other night, involved learning with a solitary teacher from words and scrolls. Christian would read as he always did -- he would learn from stories written in Kanji, and men greater than himself.

He had been following these principles for some time. Now, he would finally put them to the test, and master each of the techniques he'd strung around in his head. First, that all began with Byakugan, and the young ninja pressing his fingers together to form the seal as his pale ivory eyes were surrounded now with the protruding of veins. He placed chakra into his palms and fingertips, and examined the internal network of his teacher, who largely stood idly and observed him.

His teacher had several points where his inner network seemed to swell. To Christian, this seemed an obvious notion of particular chakra points, bundles like nerves internally. He pulled his palm upward and reflected on what demonstrably appeared - for now, nothing. A very light density. When his palms struck, however, a stint of chakra would extend forward as he made impact with his target - a brutal wave to shut down their own chakra, dispelling it or disrupting its flow.

He practiced with a beaten dummy in the corner of the room, striking it repeatedly with his palms as he performed what appeared to be the first touch of the Gentle Fist. He wasn't certain what separated the Gentle Fist from Jyuken, but he was only a novice. He'd never really been a part of the Hyuuga, so these things were for him to learn on his own. With, of course, previous guidance from a decaying father.

When he struck the dummy, a blue flash of chakra splashed out, a vibrant display of force and precision. He knew that some Hyuuga, also, pinpointed that chakra into their joint fingertips and 'jabbed' chakra points for piercing efficiency. Whether through a palm or a jab, however, the result was similar -- damage of their internal chakra network, and eventually, a total shut-down.

The chakra itself seemed to focus into the shape of a needle - but the position of the hands did not seem wholly necessary. The touch was gentle and did not require much force, and thus, not much commitment for even greater results. These were all things he noted. [Gentle Fist Learned]

On a similar note, Christian decided to focus his chakra wholly into the creation of a needle, one meant for doing pin-point damage to one's tenketsu. The needle he had begun to weave was thin and, in a way, jagged. He continued to fiddle with the energy signature to refine it, treating it something like a javelin, or a spear with a long and narrow head drawing from his fingertips. It was surgical in how it operated -- but effective. [Chakra Needle Learned]

What followed was moving into the proper stance. The shinobi moved his back leg behind his front, maintaining a steady distance between the two, as he positioned his arms similarly, one open palm forward and another faced wholly behind his body. He pressed his forward leg more forward, lowering slightly onto his knees as he maintained a wide stance, with open arms almost horizontally crossed. With his byakugan active, the stance felt . . . right. Like he had more control over his movements, and reactions. [Gentle Fist Stance Learned]

What came next was mastering his chakra network, which was directly tied to the Hyuga trainings. He needed to both meditate and perform the Gentle Fist in a way that positively restructured his own usage of chakra. The best way to do the former was merely to seclude himself in the corner of the room, and focus. This time, he would imagine his own tenketsu as he did so.

Settling in the corner, Christian shut his eyes and imagined a vast blue network of energy. He imagined his movements and how they affected it -- even with the slight twists and turns of his body. Each lean forward, each shift in posture . . . and then the dramatic movements that occurred with jutsu and other things. The network was almost like one of water, with many sewage pipes drawing from the core, extending outward and dividing the water to its intended source. To master that network, one needed to know how it worked.

He focused on the tenketsu itself. The points. He tried to nudge his chakra to move, and react to the ministrations of his mind. It felt almost sickening in some ways, but in others . . . relaxing. Even ticklish, to his sensitive, boyish mind. Christian was wholly uncertain of how it all worked, as of yet. But, he wanted to learn, and his visualizations assisted greatly in doing so.

The network felt raw and complex, but also fluid and easy to touch, and even maneuver. He drew some of his chakra into his palms, but carefully. The flow was slow and cautious, a true amateur, but one attempting to allocate his energy in a way that was prudent and efficient. Christian, as both an Uzumaki and Hyuuga, felt that he could almost touch the energy inside of himself in a way that others couldn't. The meditative process was . . . truly meditative. It was relaxing, and even soulful.

His eyes opened, briefly. The room around him almost felt covered in an ombre sheen - like a filter hovering over it. The Byakugan was still active, and he could see the networks running through others. Something about it felt... different. Now that he finally sought to fully understand the movements, seeing them realized in the flow of others was fascinating. He felt that he could meditate, again, staring into the network of his teacher.

And it made him feel more confident in utilizing his own network. All-in-all, his meditative trainings had done well for him so far. Christian could only hope he would have time, in the future, to refresh and reflect on these. He knew the rigorous deeds of the Genin and those greater than them -- he wanted to take the opportunity to learn now, before he became yet another soldier in so long a war. One that never ended. [Simple Training: Meditation 2/2 Completed]

Now, he needed to practice recreating the Chakra Needle in a way that optimized his flow of chakra. Christian drew the shape from his fingertips, staring at the raw tenketsu beneath his palm. He noticed that by his wrist was yet another complex network, or a doorway to it. The needle itself had been drawn sub-optimally, with his chakra expediting its movements through his body, rather than in a preemptive or flowing motion. He knew that if he trained himself correctly, he could allow his own body to perceive and react to his intended chakra expenditures in a healthy and efficient way.

So, he dispelled the Needle, and recreated it again with efficiency in mind. Once more, it failed to create itself optimally, leaving Christian in an uncertain state. He bit his lower lip and frowned, discarding his imperfect structure and acting once more.

He needed to focus, and meditate, in much the same way as before - but actively. A form of... battle meditation. Always being secure in his actions, always performing things efficiently. This was likely why shinobi needed to 'kill' their emotions -- so that they could maintain a perpetual concentration, regardless of the situation at hand. To allow emotions to interfere in such activities was damning, and dangerous.

Of course, he had no intentions of killing his emotions. But the role-play of it was thoughtful, and attempting to bring himself back - like from his current frustration - was an enlightening endeavor. The mind was irritable, flawed and imperfect. And, of course, highly influenced by the body. On his third attempt, however, he did manage to draw the needle in a flowing and nuanced motion, though notably slower than if he had drawn it with rapidity in mind. He needed to master both speed and insight, to be the most effective shinobi possible. [Simple Training: Performance 2/2 Completed]

What came next was Maruton, and particularly, the six beginning techniques. His teacher had already instructed him previously on these techniques, individually, and he only needed to recall his instructions and then act them out. That began with two: the clone technique, Bunshin no Jutsu, and the transformation, Henge no Jutsu.

The clone was an illusory replica of yourself, and the transformation was an illusory transformation of similar size. Or mass, however one looked at it. Focusing his chakra, he imagined an image of himself, and attempted to recreate it beside him - almost like a projection. With a clouded puff of smoke appearing, the image was born, formed within the cloud. He then proceeded to transform it into something else - a picture of his old best friend, and... more, Takahara.

He remembered him clearly, and fondly, and had always felt that he was close to his heart - and his network. The image was clear, and reminiscent of him. [Henge no Jutsu and Bunshin no Jutsu learned]

Substitution technique and the Release technique, or Kawarimi and Kai were next. In a way, they were both evasive or defensive maneuvers, one against physical damage and one against the constraints of genjutsu. Kai was simply a matter of releasing the foreign energy in one's network, which he was certain was... easy as a Hyuuga?

He placed his fingers together and formed the release seal, and though there was no genjutsu to expel, he did feel rather expunged. Following that, he boded his teacher to punch him, and did in fact manage to succeed at not actually getting punched, a log appearing in his place and consuming the impact of the blow. He would consider both activities a success. [Kai [Release] and Substitution [Kawarimi no Jutsu] Learned]

Then, finally, water and wall walking. This one, he almost imagined was similar to the Gentle Fist... oddly enough. But only in that he focused chakra almost evenly into one particular area, this time the surface of his feet, though even certainly his palms at times. He would infuse it with a sort of cohesive effect that found no resistance in the surfaces on which he walked, allowing him to move seamlessly.

One of the rooms in the building had a small pond on which to practice on, inside of an interior garden. He excused himself to practice, there, and stepped quietly onto chakra-infused feet on the way there. Once he made it to the surface of the water, he walked easily, and did the same along the room's wall - even stepping onto what felt like a precarious edge. [Water and Wall Walking Learned]

What came next was the Chameleon Skin genjutsu, just as a way of recognizing a genjutsu and introducing himself to its counters. He formed an illusory image over himself with his chakra, envisioning a blanket over himself. Then, he finalized it, allowing the foreground and background both to paint their way across his skin in a way that was both enchanting and creepy. [Chameleon Skin Learned]

Next was Raiton, one of his chakra elements. He had already begun to understand the basic concepts of an elemental nature, but wished to delve further into the techniques of Raiton, particularly as they were rather powerful - and destructive - unlike many of his other techniques and potential ones. Raiton would be his . . . offensive tool, and often - likely - coincide with his Gentle Fist as a way of further paralysis and debilitation.

The first technique listed in his scroll was an odd one. It was the Telegram flash, that relied on Korabo with others -- but in a unique way. Those who wished to offer his Korabo chakra simply . . . allowed it to flow through them, before it returned to him to be released. Christian gained the chakra of his mentor, the two of them producing a lightly powerful zap as it returned to Christian and flung from his hands. [Telegram Flash Learned]

The next techniques, he would learn together. One was the Flickering Light, Touei no Jutsu, and the other was the Raikou Bunshin no Jutsu - or the Lightning Clone. The first was simple. He would project his own image, or even simply draw from his tenketsu, in a natural way. Then, he would instill lightning properties into the clone, which would likely shock a target upon received or given impact. Then, he only needed to replicate - somehow easily - his own physical manifestation onto that clone, which seemed and felt easy for shinobi.

The technique that followed was different, but ultimately, creating it felt similar to the Telegram Flash - an exterior flash of lightning energy, but honed into a bright light. He performed it seamlessly with the clone. [Lightning Clone and Flickering Light Learned]

The next technique allowed easy access to the final one. Static Strings was similar to that of an alerting, lightning trip-wire. It would notify him of movements through the strings, perhaps acting as a cheap defense against stealthy opponents, whilst also causing shock and possibly harm against them. He would use it, this time, in order to train his own electrical resistance. Christian cast the jutsu, and then proceeded to walk back and forth through it, a compounding and accumulating pain through each step, though as he moved through he eventually began to feel a greater resistance, particularly as he honed and focused his chakra on the Raiton manifestation. [Static Strings and Electrical Resistance Training Learned]

The final techniques that would seem immediately pertinent to learn were the Fuuton ones. The first was the wind clone, which did not seem particularly distinct from the lightning clone, save for that it expelled wind and . . . possibly moved faster with wind. He was uncertain, but after focusing his fingers into a handseal and formulating his chakra, the clone was formed seamlessly. [Kaze Bunshin, Wind Clone Learned]

Wind Levitation was next, which allowed him to sweep chakra beneath an object and then proceed to levitate it with his wind-nature affinity. It could, however, only lift a limited amount of weight with its sub-optimal kinetic force. Throwing a sheet of wind beneath a nearby binder caused for it to rise and levitate, until Christian dispelled the technique and allowed it to fall, plopping atop the desk. [Kaze Fuuchuufuyuu Learned]

Next came the vacuum sword, Shinkuken. It was, essentially, a projectile blocking arm of fuuton, utilizing a weapon to create a sweeping motion that repelled incoming projectiles. Christian grabbed one of the nearby pencils and attempted to swat away a bug that had crept into the room, managing to do so . . . at the expense of the bug's life, of course, but not without flinging it across the room and into the hallway. [Shinkuken Learned]

The next technique was another useful one - something he noted of Fuuton abilities in general, at early levels. He could propel and shift the trajectory of projectiles with his chakra, and possibly even add an elemental nature to them. Christian threw an eraser across the room, and attached his fuuton energy to it, uplifting it and helping it keep a balanced trajectory as it ascended through the air quickly. [Tobidougu Soujuu no Jutsu [ Projectile Control Technique ] Learned]

The next technique seemed mostly useless, particularly with its low weight limit. It was the retrieving wind technique, which could only carry five pounds of weight. However, it was in many ways simply a reverse of the Projectile Control Technique, and so creating and forming it was easy. He managed to seamlessly draw his eraser back into his hand, and realized that this would likely be the only time he ever used this jutsu. [Toridashi Kaze no Jutsu [ Retrieving Wind Technique ] Learned]

Seeing that there was basically no one around to help him train, Souta moved on for the moment to go do something else.

GM POST

"Attention all relevant students! The graduation exam is going to be starting soon! Please report to room 13-A for your examinations." A voice boomed over the PA, loud enough to be reached for several miles around the village.

Christian did not feel that he was a wholly relevant student, but nonetheless, he did feel that he was ready to graduate. So, picking up his bearings hastily and with vigor, he ran with his backpack pressed in front of his chest towards room 13-A.

Upon arriving in the room, he non-subtly announced himself.

                                                              "I'm here, 'teibaisa!"

Souta jogged into the room rather casually and looked quite startled to see someone else. Or, more accurately, he was surprised to see another graduation ready student that wasn't his sister. "Hello, nice to meet you, my name is Son Souta." He said quickly, snapping off a bow that's practice had clearly come with a hand at his back. He seemed to hesitate for a moment, fighting the usual script he fed to dignitaries that visited the office while Souta was also there. Instead he went and found a seat, ready to put all his studying to work.
