Shikora MjoliA lawyer? Yeah, that seemed to fit the bill. Of course, there were plenty of good lawyers. She wasn't necessarily going off the premise that all lawyers were naturally smarmy sleazy people. But there certainly were plenty that were. Still, she wished him luck. Opening a practice was hard, psychological, law, or otherwise. She imagined it might have been harder with a name like Steele Moore. Or maybe easier? "There's plenty of potential clients in the city I'--"' And then the power went out. What was with this city? When she heard the screams, her instinct was to run towards them and see who needed help, but the more logical part of her knew that she needed to get herself safe before she could help anyone else. Right? She eyed the direction of the screams warily, but an elbow in the back soon forced her forward, and she shuffled off towards the exit with relatively little trouble except for the occasional person nearly bowling her over. Trained in keeping herself calm, Shikora wasn't necessarily freaking out like a lot of other people in the room, but that didn't mean she could see very well. When she approached the exit, she turned around and attempted to tell if everyone else was coming out alright.

Tobias LiebelAs soon as the lights went out, Tobias pulled Evan into his arms, thankful for the extra fabric of his costume that went around like weird purple and blue wings. When the sound of glass shattering and the sound of panic began to set in, Tobias felt his own adrenaline begin to flow and he leaned down, giving Evan a quick nuzzle and looking around for—ah. The exit sign. Perfect.
“I’ve got you. Don’t be afraid. I won’t let anything happen to you, Evan.” His voice was soft, confident and reassuring and he began shuffling towards the exit sign, still keeping his arms tight around his friend. “Just keep walking, there we go. We’re almost there, Ev. Don’t you worry about anything.” It was surprising how calm he felt taking charge, even when he was getting jostled on all sides by people trying to get…wherever.
The one thing that did freak him out was when something…hairy brushed against his arm and then skittered away, making a strange and rather horrible scuttling noise.
No. No he had to keep going, making sure to keep Evan safe. He didn’t like horror movies, and now it felt as though they were in one.

Evan Harper
Evan immediately tensed when the lights shut out; he clammed up when the glass shattered. If Tobias hadn’t been there, he didn’t know what he would have done. Even with Tobias, all he could do was slowly nod and let the other male guide him.
“I’m not afraid,” he said dumbly, despite the fact that he was very afraid. He just didn’t like anyone to see when he was afraid, and now he didn’t want Tobias to worry. He leaned against the male, almost fully relying on him to guide them towards the exit. Evan was, thankfully, safe from all the shoving and jostling and foot stepping and—most of all—safe from whatever had broken in.
Evan lying about not being scared was probably to be expected; he’d done it the last time Tobias tried to turn on a horror movie for them and naturally Evan was going to deny being worried now.
Except, the fact that he was pressed tightly to Tobias and clinging to him was probably sign enough that he was terrified.
He hated any threat—but the threats he couldn’t see were always so much worse in his head.

Julian White (dressed as a bear) Julian was happily tittering at Roddy, who looked very good dressed as a lion. He understood the reference to the Wizard of Oz - at least, he hoped so. Maybe Roddy was dressed as a lion because he was brave? Either way, it was nice to socialize in a setting that wasn't overly serious, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Still, he looked forward to resting after all this socializing, and taking Staccato for a walk later tonight sounded wonderful. "Do you think there will be full meals, or do you think we'll have to have something more substantial when we get home? I found a great recipe for pumpkin stew on the internet the other day, Roddy. Would you like me to make that? Or maybe... squash? The recipe said squash soup is great for cold weather - warms the belly. Nice and filling. What do you think?" Bright eyes twinkled up at the taller man. Truly, he felt safer in Roddy's presence than when he was alone. The hair on the nape of his neck stood on end and Julian audibly gasped when the sound of breaking glass and metal shot through the room. In an instant, the lights went out and Julian's hands when to grasp Roddy by the bicep. Something was wrong, and the young man was beginning to panic. Was it the Negaverse?! He couldn't possibly power up here - there were entirely too many people that could see him. Blowing his cover meant certain death. In the darkness, a light flickered - EXIT. Immediately, Julian started to pull Roddy in that direction. "We need to leave, Roddy! Hurry! Hurry!"

GenevieveShe should have, perhaps, felt bad for begging and maybe even trying to bribe Christa to come with her - but she didn't. In all honesty Genevieve hadn't wanted to leave the other alone and she also thought another senshi here might be a good idea- she didn't trust this even at all. Last year, while she hadn't attended, had shown her just how unsafe any sort of holiday celebration in this city could be. Nothing was safe.
The others costume was...not planned but she liked how they fit together in an odd sort of way. "I owe you for coming here...I know you don't like large crowds Christa." And she did know, but she really thought the other could use some more time out and this was just the place. "Yes, I'm not one of those out of the bag vampires that look cliche and is cheap." She had clearly put money into her outfit, and it showed and looked good for it. It was worth it.
"I'm just glad I won't get burnt by that cross of yours. Were I your average vampire...well...I can't say I'd be doing so well." Shrugging, not getting the joke or even realizing one had been made about the Spanish Inquisition, the dark eyed female smiled to both. "Mmm, that is another reason I wanted to come and brought Christa. Last year...this was not so safe...if we keep together we can keep your little one safe and my parents." They could easily stalk her parents, they'd be too busy with friends to notice the girls behind them following like creepers. "And yes...mother knows best in this case especially." She answered though as she looked around, glanced towards the windows to check on the fog, she stared for a few moments.
"That doesn't look right...." She whispered, pointing. Already she was moving, hands moving out to grasp at the other two females. "Let's find your little one and my parents. I don't like this." She might not have been a senshi as long as the other two, not a chance of that, but she had grown up in this city and seen enough news reports.
It was when looking for a long haired Rapunzel that the lights suddenly went out and all things, predictably, went to hell as glass shattered and screams filled the air. "We need to find them - now." No questions, this was a big thing now. "We can look as we head for the exit." As everyone else seemed to be headed that way, which she wasn't sure if was smart or stupid. "Keep an eye out." Though it might be really hard to, the fog seemed to have rolled right in and was making seeing hard. Though it was when she arrived at the exit that she turned to look for Christa and Jada that she was sure she spotted something. "Did you see that?" Asking the other two, hoping her voice carried over everyone elses.

Christabelle Calloway (dressed as the Spanish Inquisition) The fact that Jada and Genevieve didn't laugh (but rolled their eyes) was a bit of a relief. Christa never considered herself to be terribly comfortable in non-senshi situations. While in civilian guise, she felt powerless and awkward. The fact that two people she would consider friends and peers liked her enough to put up with her terrible attempts at humor was appreciated more than she could say. "You both look lovely, truly. It's good to get out, even if I'm not particularly adept at such a thing." They'd made vast strides in their training as senshi - Scylla had discovered something important she must do, and Nephthys was becoming stronger and more confident with every passing day. Truly, Christa could not complain one bit. Unfortunately, their easy revery was cut short thanks to shorting lights and screaming. Somehow, she wasn't entirely surprised, given the season and the fact that the Negaverse had a penchant for ruining nice things. Despite her tenure and exposure to all things both supernatural and dangerous, adrenaline began to pump as people screamed and filed for the exit. "Jada? Genevieve? That's our cue. Time to get out of here!"

Miles Fury (Dressed as Nick Fury)
Well, there went the neighborhood. Lights down, screaming. This was like a horror movie, and Miles knew what happened to brothers in horror movies.
They died first.
It was an undeniable truth. Except in a few movies, like that bullshit one about the Alzehiemer's sharks. Only the brother and the white dude and survived that one, which had been cool. Miles wondered, as a sharp elbow jabbed into him for the fifth or tenth time - he'd lost count already - if he were high enough for this s**t or not. He was seeing Things.
Being swept away towards the glowing EXIT sign. But really, he'd rather head to the ticket booth or the john and toke up. Seriously. "Ow." He complained, not for the first time, about being stomped on. "Seriously, your foot is fat dude - or dudette. I'm not judging but <********>--"

Giulia ( Rapunzel) Oh, good! Giulia breathed an audible sigh of relief at the confirmation that the cute little bonsai were inside. That would be terrible sad if the poor little things got drenched in the rain and the fog. "All our plants are outside plants, cause we never know if someone with all lurchies may come over. And my older sister Zora gets them real bad, so..." her voice trailed off, and her lips pursed.
"I think daddies being rude is just kind of a thing," she said at last, half-absently. "They just don't think." her own Daddy... well. Sometimes he seemed to forget to be nice. "Mother Gothel is Rapunzel's witch, in Tangled. Jada's my-" she shrugged, eloquently. "She's my sister, but she's raising me, so she's my mom, too. I think she should have been a princess not the witch, but she has the hair right, so what is a Rapunzel to do?"
She was about to escort him to Jada, but... everything went dark. Oh, no! "Farmer Nat," she gasped, "I think we need to go- now!" She grabbed at his hand, eyes lighting on the exit sign. Badness ahoy!!!

Cordelia Carden (dressed as right ) Cordelia hadn't actually wanted to attend the event. Lysander had insisted however, and when Abby had made the request that she accompany her so she 'wouldn't be left alone when Lys inevitably found someone to snog' (Abby's words, not hers) she had reluctantly agreed. The agreement had been under the condition that she wasn't at all interested in attending the event in costume. Abby, I spend more of my life in costume than not. The discussion had started out like that and somehow she'd let Abigail talk her into something simple-- a hooded dress with a skeleton print and a pair of skeletal shoes. She'd gone for pumps as opposed to flats because maybe, just maybe she could make herself feel a little bit like she was trying that way. Pff. Like she didn't practically live in heels anyways. "Lysander's wandered elsewhere on us already?" She glanced to the blonde pixie of a woman, brow slightly lofted before she resumed looking about the room that they'd all been ushered into once the rain had begun. Across the room she spotted someone familiar... Maybe? Red hair, a bit tousled, relaxed but still proper. Stars. She'd told Abby and Lys both that she hadn't wanted to show up... ----- Abigail Doyle (dressed as left ) It was amazing, really, that she'd been able to find a dress that didn't look awful on her standing next to Cordelia when they were both wearing the same thing. She was glad that she'd managed to convince the other woman to join them-- her, honestly. Lys was off somewhere and that was fine and dandy. Girls nights were a thing, yeah? It wasn't like she could spend Halloween doing what she might be doing if her sister was in town, after all... "Forget about him. There's snacks over here and-- Hey, Cordelia, isn't that the guy you know? Over there? The one you keep trying not to-- Ow. You didn't have to elbow me, Cord." Her nose wrinkled as she snatched a cup of punch off of the nearby table. "He's cute, though. If that's your thing."

Lavender BurninghamAt the sound of her name, Lavender’s head snapped up, her eyes wide, sure that it was Rhona. Though…when she saw the rather familiar looking blonde approaching her, she managed to give a smile. “Hey there…Virell, yeah?” She held out a hand and looked him up and down. “I adore your costume. You look pretty darn kickass in that. It shows off your body very well.”
She winked and attempted another smile, which fell rather quickly again. “I’ve been…going through some stuff. I got a girlfriend…and then we broke up pretty recently, so I’m kind of really…off my groove right now. Honestly, this makeup I have on now is the first I’ve done in a few weeks. I mean, besides normal things and…you know.”
Normal things…like such a thing actually applied to her life…or this city in general…and as if to prove a point. Darkness fell. Again.
“God ******** damnit.” The words sprang from Lavender and she instinctively reached for Virell’s hand in the darkness, griping it tightly. “Why does this always happen…happen to me…” Her mouth felt dry suddenly and she swung her head around, eyes landing on the bright beacon of the exit sign, though her heart was pounding, she attempted to drag Virell with her, pausing for only a second, fear gripping her heart. “Rhona!” The shriek was loud and she looked around again, hoping to see some sign of the other girl in the darkness. “Rhona where the hell are you?”
She wouldn’t…
There was nothing more than general concern. Nothing at all.

Pythia (Breakfast at Tiffany's dress)
So she hadn't anticipated on having people ACTUALLY mistaking her outfit for a Holly Golightly costume, but it was happening, and she was going to roll with it. Apparently anyone in a semi-nice black dress at a cocktail party was, in matter of fact, clearly dressing up for the holiday, not just trying to make a nice impression on any potentially-present-but-not-necessarily-present political figures. Pythia, naturally, was mingling near the free hors d'oeuvres.
The room growing cold was barely noticed. Destiny City was always a little chilly after dark this time of year, from what she heard. The staff whispering- well. Poor planning on their parts, maybe? It actually going dark made her lips thin. And then the cracking of glass, and the screaming started, and bloody hell, did anything good ever happen in this town? Or was it just one dramatic evening after the next until someone ripped her starseed out and ate it?
She bumped into the table, and then was bumping into people, and she stumbled; something that felt not unlike a dog brushed past her, and her blood curdled in her veins, followed by rage. That better have been a dog.
Yet all she could think of were those stupid spiderwebs...

Jada (Mother Gothel)
Jada had known that the two lived together, or had, or something- and it was clear there was affection between the two, and that relaxed Jada more into the party. Genevieve had a valid point, though- something always did go wrong at these events, and as much as she hated to admit it, the situation only seemed to be getting worse. Resistance begat resistance, and Chaos was was less penitent for the impacts of its actions, and less considerate of who might be the victims.
She reached out, easily taking Genevieve's hand- and then the power went out. She dropped the other woman's hand quickly, spinning in the dark. "Giulia!" her voice rose, immediately, seeking the girl's reply. There were too many screams- too many people. Her sister was clever, though, usually- "You two move without me." it wasn't a request- her voice had hardened from its previous light humor, and she was pushing away the panic welling in her gut at the thought of the little girl out there alone, or clinging to a stranger that- But- oh. She couldn't help it; the thought that this was Giovanni flicked in and out of her mind, however briefly, but even he couldn't arrange something like this just to get his daughter.
Shoving through the crowd, she tried to keep an eye out for her four-foot Rapunzel. She'd be heading for the exit, and Jada went too, apologizing to people she crashed into, and loudly calling out for the small blonde.

[ Katrina Halloran (Dressed in this with this makeup) Summer had passed by far too quickly for her liking, and after the recent events that had found her trapped in a strange mirror land she had been looking forward to normal-- a basic date night with her... Well, to call Kian Cappello her boyfriend seemed foolish and partner seemed too serious. They still hadn't discussed whatever was going on between the two of them in full, but they didn't need to have a serious talk to just enjoy each other's company, right? Right. Sure. Katrina shivered as she stepped closer to Kian. The chill that crept through the hall that they'd all been shuffled into was hardly pleasant, leaving goosebumps running up and down her arms. "Got a bit chilly in here all of a sudden, don't you think, Bone Daddy?" The words had barely passed her lips when things got odd. Odd er, actually, when the lights went out and she found herself reaching out to cling to his arm as a startled someone nearby tripped into her. Another person caught her with an elbow and it took almost all of her to keep from responding to anything else with brute force.

Xi-WangGently leaning into Caleb, not surprised the other was protective as well as just a bit possessive over him, the darker haired male smiled at Rhona before addressing both, firs this partner and than his friend. "Caleb, this is Rhona. She took me into her home when I had no where to but a motel to go. I just moved out of her place when I moved in with you. She's a good friend....and obviously hungry." He said noting all the food she had with her, it really did look like a lot of food. "Are you sure you won't make yourself sick...Rhona?" He questioned, a tilt to his head as he glanced at the loaded up plate, before noting what she was offering him.
"I'm good, I'm not that hungry, we had dinner before we came." His idea, in order to avoid anything they may not like...or a lot of sweets.
"And umm...my costume...thank you Rhona. I was sorta being a bit..umm...lazy about it. But I think it's fitting." He really did, and it was comfortable and felt really nice on him. He really didn't care if someone didn't like it, or even commented badly about it. He was happy and that mattered the most, plus Caleb seemed to like it or at least approve of it.
"I wonder if they'll be starting the maze soon....it's been awhile since they announced that they'd be starting soon...." Shifting uneasily Xi-Wang felt himself grabbing hold of his partner and moving him about so his back was pressed to Caleb's front and the others arms were wrapped about him. "I have this sort of...uneasy feeling. But I mean...last year was bad here...it can't happen again - r-right?" Or maybe not right.
The lights flickered and cut out and he jumped in Caleb's arms. His stronger, at the moment, hand grasping onto the others arm while his other hand shot out to grasp at Rhona's clothing.
As glass shattered he shuddered and pressed back as tightly to Caleb's own body as he could. "We need to leave...I don't like this..." Rhona who knew he was a senshi, knew he had handled the whole incident in space, might be surprised but she hadn't been a completely unknown threat and here..this was and they were in a nearly pitch black room with people and who knows what. People were screaming and heading for the only exit.
Shuffling forward, trying to keep a hold on the other two, he was determined to get out of here with his partner and his friend. "We should keep together." Even if Caleb might not want his friend here - numbers meant safety as far as he figured it.
Maybe he got ahead of himself, and the other two, but when he got to the exit he froze as he turned around and just stared over Claeb's shoulder with wide dark eyes. "Something is there....back there...I-I think...maybe." Stumbling over his words and shivering, shuddering, he sought to cling to Caleb while grasping Rhonas clothing, wanting them both for comfort.

Felix Smith - Dressed as Thor with a Feline Mewlnir (Eta) on his shoulder "Okay, I'll go, but I mean...is it absolutely necessary?" Going to the Destiny City Botanical Gardens for a neat Halloween event actually did sound really cool in Felix's estimation, but that didn't mean that he felt like putting for the effort of attendance without at least a small token of resistance. Very small, since it was his precious Eta whom presented the idea to him - she was even offering to go with him, though many places were not 'pet' friendly, Felix felt certain he could manage to get Eta through whatever passed for security at the event, one way or another. The silvery Mauvian fluffed at him from her spot at the edge of his bed, tail curled prettily around her toes, "No, but you'll be my escort, won't you?" She knew that he was absolutely not going to leave he to go on her own, and was secure in the knowledge that her newest senshi was a good boy that lived to please her. Halloween at the garden would be no different, besides, many a time an event such as this one had proven to be a magnet for the weird or the wild. Eta explained her theory that gatherings such as these could sometimes be a lure for Chaos - or even the supernatural - and either way it was their duty as guardians of the Earth go and check it out, to make sure that if anything untoward happened that they could help. It was a very pretty speech delivered, indeed, and by the end Felix was fired up and ready. The only thing they had left was to figure out their costumes. As a band geek (and an anime-loving convention-going nerd in general), Felix had options, which was nice, but they had to pick something that would not only be easy to move around in (just in case something went wrong and it became necessary to fight and/or start a rescue up) but would also work with the Mauvian being there. He was poking through some of his costumes while Eta was borrowing his laptop when the most perfect - and punny - costume idea struck like lightning. "Eta. Oh my god. I can't believe it took me this long to think of it. The most perfect costume for tonight. Ever." Eta's head came up and her ears perked, her attention on her bright eyed boy as he pulled out a black clothing bag and put the others away before unzipping it to reveal a crimson cape, armor in slate and silver. With it simply hanging there, she didn't quite understand why the costuming choice was so absolutely perfect, but trusted that Felix knew what he was doing. "Just a second, it looks better on." Quickly the brunet stripped to boxer briefs and began re-dressing in the pieces from the garment bag; slowly the look came together and his excitement about how perfect the look was transferred somewhat. Once the brown faux-leather bracers were on his wrists, Felix took on a super hero pose, "Ta-da! What do you think, Eta? Do I make an awesome Thor or what?" In fact, he made a passable Marvel Cinematic Universe Thor, just with shorter, darker hair. In the bottom of the garment bag was a really well done replica of Mjolnir, but he left it where it was. "Tonight, you get to be my Mewlnir. It's perfect, right?" It really was. It was also horrible. Even so, Eta proudly jumped onto his shoulders and allowed herself to go limp there, talking quietly to him as he gathered up his wallet before they headed off to the Botanical Gardens. Once there, it was actually really nice - he didn't have to fight with anyone to get his lovely 'Mewlnir' in, and no one gave him grief about her once they were inside, not even when he was passing nibbles and sips of the vittles available while they wandered about talking. Being made to stay inside wasn't that big a deal either, since he didn't really want to put Eta out in the rain. Everything was going fine until the lights flickered and went out. "Eta...that's not good, is it?" Then came the screams and everyone struggling to make it to the exit which...well, it was....off to one direction. Gleaming in a manner that made it hard to ignore - kind of like he was compelled towards it, which was ******** weird. Still. "Okay, let's just...get out of this crush and see if we can't figure out what the hell's going on." Surprisingly enough - or maybe not at all - Felix had a really easy time of making it to the exit with his precious Mauvian.
