Briar thought over Peter's question for a moment, as reddish eyes glanced over the field. There had been a brief point earlier where the Stuffs had managed to rally and get themselves on the score board but since then the game had returned to kind of dragging itself out–
And whilst the Stuffs had managed to get on the score board the same couldn't be said for the other side and with the game at the bottom of the 4th innings it was starting to look unlikely that the Puffs were going to break that streak.
"Kirra might be interested in helping too" he said, because whilst she was his tree climbing buddy, she was also his senshi partner. "I can ask her next time we meet up for tree climbing" or maybe if they bumped into the pool - because they did from time to time due to a shared like of swimming.
"She's like us" he continued, stressing the 'us', because whilst Briar had mentioned Euporie - well at least Oort had mentioned Euporie - he could remember if he'd actually ever mentioned that Kirra was Euporie.
"And even if she doesn't want to specifically help, I've been meaning to introduce her" because whilst Kirra was important and he had been partners with her even before meeting Peter and Benji, it didn't make his friendship with the two any less important to him–
Even if Briar wasn't about to admit to such out loud.

Charlie Durand / STUFFS
Bottom of the 4th, 2 outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs
Ground out.
Charlie cheered when Pat went up to bat, gripping onto her own bat as she waited for her turn. They were doing pretty good for now, but she knew the game wasn’t over until it was over. The others still had a chance for a comeback, especially if she couldn’t secure more runs for the team.
As Pat struck out, Charlie flashed him a smile and a thumbs up, hoping he didn’t feel too bad. He shouldn’t! The other team was pretty good. They were lucky Quenton had managed to get a home run for them.
When the ball was thrown, Charlie swung with all her might -- only to have the ball immediately bounce against the ground. She winced as she dropped the bat behind her and took off for first, but the infield was faster. Oops. Hopefully Xander would manage to get a good hit.

Quenton Marinus ⚾ Team STUFFSBottom of the 4th, 2 outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs Runners on First and Second 1, 6 Single It had been looking dismally like it was going to be a complete shut-out inning where both teams saw three batters and three outs, which wasn’t unheard of at professional league levels. It made for a boring time in the stands, though, and bored fans were a lot less likely to donate to the worthy causes for the animals of Destiny City. Blessed be, the Good Doctor got on base. Which left it to him to keep the third out from happening, either to himself or to Xander on base. Anything in the innfield had a lot more threat of getting thrown down to second to get the surgeon out as the lead runner and the oft-closest base to all the action. Not that Quenton had any particular skill for aiming at bat other than what a preparatory evening at a batting cage and public-school gym class could provide. But Luck! Two pitches in and the ball sailed down the first base line, just out of the innfields’ business and just short of the outfields’. Maria Patel had to chase it down and run it in to stop advancement by threat of tagging. Kaori_luv 1, 4 is a Walk, fill your post~

For not knowing what he was doing out there, the guy in front of really was keepin’ it all together. Two on base, two outs, and back in a hot seat just liek before. Waiting it out had served him well, and his experience, so Garron was winging on about 50% butterflies. We still go the lead, in any case,right?
He waited one, two, and then third pitch it was a doozy! Flight-fast ring right off the end of the bat and smash at the ShortStop like so many balls did in the game ( and why it was such a key position). But that Deme Belli had it in glove as quick as it was hit, since it never hit the ground. An out. The THIRD out.
Yeah…..the lead anyway. Dang it!
Which meant it was Stuffs back to the field and the Puffs up to bat again! Top of the 5th.

Fielding a hit and then already having to run in and get a helmet and bat to have a go once the warm up pitches were done. Thank goodness for the warm up pitches, “ I can dooooo thiiiiiissss…….” Though the words came out as more a worried whine than anything else. The pitches were a BLUR, and Maria just swang at whatever. AND A HIT THAT WENT SOMEWHERE. Run Run run Run run run to Second before there was moving around and the snap of a ball to a glove audibly near and Maria stopped hard hearing the Ump calling ‘Safe!’ A double! On base! We could really score!“COME ON FRITZY HIT ME IN!” She exploded from the opposite side of the infield.

Batter now on 1st (Cordy) and 3rd 2nd (Fritz). Cordelia was looking forward to knocking one out of the park. Alas, it was not in the stars. Every ball that came her way was either too low or two high, with the last one coming too close to her for comfort. Cordelia tossed her bat back towards the dugout, heading towards first base at a light jog.

Izobel Beckett // Puffs
Top of the 5th, 2 Out, 0 Puffs VS. 6 StuffsRunners now on 2nd (Cordy) and 3rd (FritzMaria) after Lucien's sacrificial bunt.(( Izobel's up next in the batting order so rolling now )) Izzy wasn't sure if irony was at play or not as she stepped up to the plate once more. Her team had runners in scoring positions and here she was, the girl who had struck out in the first inning. Perhaps though she had a little more confidence in her ability to hit the ball and as she tapped her bat in the dirt at home plate she tightened her grip on the bat and brought it up to rest just slightly behind her shoulder. Something was different this time Izobel could just feel it.
When the first pitch sailed just wide Izzy shook off the small nagging doubt before resetting her stance. Leaning in, arms taut, elbows locked. It was almost like golf except she was attempting to hit a moving sphere instead of a stationary one. And here it came again. Izobel watched the softball arc towards her and swung with all she could muster. A resounding crack echoed in her ears as the bat shook and without even looking Izobel dropped the bat and took off running for first base. Realizing that the ball was still being fielded caused the teen to tag at first and continue running around the bases. Now sounds where reaching her ears and it sounded like her team had runs in. Tagging at second base the red-head attempted to get to third base. The ball arrived at third base just after she did and Izobel breathed a sigh of relief as the ump declared her "safe."Score is now 2 Puffs VS 6 Stuffs and Izobel is on 3rd base

Deme // Puffs 2 Out, 3 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs - deme on third. He could feel the pressure rising as he stepped up to bad. He need to do good this time. His team was counting on him. He dug his foot into the ground and took a deep breath. he needed to relax and just focus on the ball. since honestly he was doing terrible today. He didn't know why but maybe just maybe he just needed to relax more. If he did that then maybe just maybe this time he could hit it out of the park or at least hope too.
Though here he went. with one breath he waited for the ball to come and had his full attention on the pitchers throwing hand. That ball was all he was going to focus on.
The ball came and he hit it! As he hit it he dropped his bat and just ran ran like lightening. Some how before he knew it he was on third base. He couldn't believe it! It worked! Maybe he should do that more often. ((sorry guys my 5 month old daughters sick and I totally could not find this thread. >< I am still here though and ready to play!))Ivynian Billy Barrinsdown on deck

Bellaluna - team cat - stuffs.
She couldn't believe it her team was kicking some tail! Maybe she was the mascot for the right one after all. She just meowed loudly as the other team was some how gaining on them. While it was only 3 to 6. it was still quite a ways from zero for the other team. Though she had hopes her team would still win. After all they had been kicking tail for awhile. She licked her water and ate some food that her human had brought her. Which was delicious.
And then she meowed loudly! "Go stuffs." was what she was saying in cat language if no one could understand that wouldn't stop her from cheering for her team no matter what! The stuffs were going to win, and she hoped her cheering as the mascot would help! Since she was planning to cheer the whole game. No matter what. After all she had everything she needed a great team and great food. she was ready!

Mi-Hi Harrington / Team PUFFS - Mi-Hi on FirstTop of the 5th, 2 Out, 3 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs Mi-Hi couldn't help but hope as the bases became loaded with players from the Puffs, because even though there had been other occasions, had been times when members from her team had even managed to get the bases fully loaded before getting knocked out, she couldn't help but hope that this would be the time that the Puffs would get on the score board.
Even so it was hard to tell when their fortunes actually turned–
Maybe it started with the team member who played as right field on the - many - occasions when they had ended up in the field and had called to their red-haired pitcher to hit her in or maybe not, but it had felt like things might actually be different this time around...
And she hadn't been able to help herself when finally, finally they had managed to score as she cupped her hands and called out "Gooo Izobel! Go Puffs!" Because whilst their entry onto the score board hadn't come about due to any of her efforts - the Puffs had done it! The Puffs had scored, not just once but twice.
The brown-haired man that played short stuff was up, which meant that she was up on deck–
And then after his triple, which meant another point for them it was her turn again, Mi-Hi stepping up to bat and she couldn't help but feel nervous because she knew that she wasn't really that good at the game - but despite the nervousness it didn't stop her from gripping the bat in determination because she really wanted to do her best for the team...
And whilst it wasn't a spectacular hit, her bat did at least make contact with the ball and then she was running as fast as she could to first, her breath coming in small pants as she realised that she had made it to first and was safe.tefla for Izobel cheering alongside team cheering :3 Ivynian Wasn't sure if npc Ming-Na Han wanted a Stuffs 1st Base response. Also npcs Billy Barrinsdown and Jackie Hayworth are up next to bat and on deck respectively

Billy Barrinsdown : ⚾ Team PUFFS ⚾ Top of the 5th, 3 Out!, 3 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs <2,2> double play They really had a rally going! FINALLY. And Billy had higher hopes than the last up at bat to keep it going. The team had halved the Stuffs lead already. If they could just keep it going, keep away from that final third out, they might be able to even the score. Only. Not so much with HIM up to bat. First a strike and then getting out. And out spectacularly enough that the Stuffs could pull off a double play that they didn’t even need, because it was already 2 outs. Which meant back to the field. “I’m sorry, everyone...hey, we can hold them and get it going again? “ X

Ming-Na Han ⚾ Team STUFFSBottom of the 5th, 1 outs, 3 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs 3, 5 Ground Out No one had been joining her in her attempts at regular softball-type cheers, dugout or crowd, but that was fine. Because it was her time to shine and wow them all into cheering anyway! Orrrrr not- She hit the ball alright, but it stuck to the infield on the ground, and the Puffs totally fielded it and threw her out at first before she was halfway down the baseline. Walking back, she offered her hand up to high-five the two batters who were next up, “They really mean business all of a sudden! Hit it out of the infield!”
