Andy ran her hands over the table and items as she came across them. Acshiver running down her spine as memories of being in Haven herself surfaced and made her feel ill. She reached the end of the table as her hand moved over the machine and then over the mask. Her hand were beginning to shake again. Dammit hands, stop it. Now was no time to start getting scared again. Finding the cord, she followed it to the wall outlet. Hmm, how to get it open... No, that wouldn't do it. Thinking, she moved back over to the box of syringes, pulled one out and carefully walked back to the outlet. She paused, hearing movement but still not deviating from her plan as she just made sure to move in a way that made the least amount of noise. Unplugging the machine, she uncapped the syringe and shoved the metal part into the outlet.

The mask had a small engraving of Gaia's symbol just off center while the rest was smooth and featureless metal that had the lower part cut out where the mouth would be. It seem like it curved back over the head and clicked with some locks just at the edge of the head. The soft steps went from one side of the area toward her, pausing just behind her as if the being was watching what she was doing. As Andy shoved the needle into one of the ports nothing happened, not even a spark.

Of all that is-.. Great! Just freaking great. She exhaled with annoyance as she took the syringe out, capped it and set it aside.
Getting back up, she moved carefully around the thing behind her to the mask, feeling over it to the back as she unlocked it and took it with her. Andy moved toward the gate that led to the stairs, looking almost completely unconcerned for whatever was watching her in the room.

Inside was padded with room to breath and not much else. The footsteps followed her quietly and stayed just behind her as she stopped near the gate. A few seconds later there was a pinprick on her arm followed by a surge of burning as something was injected through a syringe carried by the being behind her. It traveled fast through her system as her heartbeat picked up before her head felt like it was burning, increasing in pain over time.

The moment she felt the p***k, her stomach churned with dread, whipping around to swing the helmet at whoever just...whatever it was they did. The burning in her arm increasing as she tried to swing again, but staggered, dropping the helmet and grabbing her head, the burning could be felt through every beat of blood in her veins, heart racing as not only it took effect but her fear kicked into full gear. Grasping her head tighter, she was feeling dizzy by how much her head swelled with pain. She turned, trying to run but stumbled and slamming shoulder first into the wall next to the gate. Her breathing bordering on hyperventilating as she slid to a sit and curled up, trying to bear the pain with a whimper. Her hands visibly shaking as she closed her eyes tightly.

The being was hit on the shoulder but there was barely a sound from it other than it jumped back quite a bit and crouched down watching, the empty syringe still in its hand. % that one is yours% the creature said quietly. % Andy Eternal% The burning started to focused on her eyes, as if someone had put a couple of coals in the back of her eyes.

%...what is..mine...?% her breathing was heavy as she moved her hands to her eyes, let out a soft sound of pain as she was struggling to keep focused. %...how do..you know.....my name....% she asked, tears reflexively welling up in her eyes but did nothing to ease the pain, keep her eyes closed tightly and her teeth clenched even tighter.

% The mask is yours, they took it out for you% he responded quietly. % You were acting strange so I gave you medicine. It will make you feel better, it always does% The voice sounded confident as it stayed just out of hands reach, staring at her. The pain will continue, going on for nearly twenty minutes before it starts to taper off if she hadn't passed out by then.

Andy shook her head, coughing as she was trying to swallow do the pain of everything. %...the mask.. is mine?...% ..oh gaia... no. oh gaia... let it stop..
She double over to the floor, laying down as she covered her hands over her face and sobbed from the combination of pain and terror. Curled up in the fetal position. ...home.. i just want to go home.. i... i have no home...
Even if the voice told her the medicine would help her, she was scared that it was lies, something to get her to comply. But what choice did she have, she couldn't fight back like this. All she could do is let it work it's way into her system. Every excruciating minute only leading her mind to ramble on, before she was starting to hum something, almost completely ceasing in her crying, an obvious method to endure the pain. She stayed curled up and face covered but her breathing was slowing into steady deep breaths.
Eventually the pain was subsiding and once it was gone, she waited a bit before slowly uncurling and removing her shaking hands away from her face, wiping tears from her face. Gradually she began to sit up, %...I don't understand... I wasn't-... I wasn't acting strange. I was trying to get out...% There was another shiver down her spine as she thought back on the mask, what would stop them from using it on her. She needed to get to electricity. She could destroy it. She could escape. She could save everyone.

%...you are home% it said sounding faintly confused as if it sensed that desire. % it is % he confirmed then went silent again watching her.
% you didn't know why we eat % as if that was telling. % you move to slow% another problem as it moved closer, attempting to take the mask and put it on her. She should see slight red pinpoint of light that dully pulsed. The one in front of her pulsed strongly.

...you are home...
Her eyes narrowed in concern, brows furrowed. She listened, every word only increasing the dread in her stomach. They were trying to make her like them. Oh Gaia. It was moving closer as she pushed herself to a stand, trying to move along the wall away. %...n-no..% her voice soft but panicked.
She was seeing light, pulsing, getting stronger. Her eyes widened, %..No!! Get away from me!!!% she made a noise that could be easily identified as a terrified shriek, as she shoved the mask away and ran for the gate, throwing it open, running up the stairs again. She stumbled up the stairs, not even able to remember how much distance there was as she tripped on a step every now and again. Her thoughts raced as she was trying so hard not to break down crying consumed by fear.

% bitty? do we run again% there was a mental yawn. % no. sleep the others are close % it said to her as he picked up the mask and frowned watching Andy's panic run up the stairs. He frowned as if something about that bothered him a bit.
% you wanted to go home. We are home % sounding confused as he followed after her at a more sedated pace even if instinct said it should chase. As she ran up the stairs, the connection was getting stronger. She could hear the murmuring of the other three that had escaped. Their thoughts were content but wary, doctors coming, white uniform, wings broken. Andy could see the pinpoints of red above as well, weakly as the people upstairs continued to do damage control. Two people were quietly talking near the other side of the door heading to the main part of the house of how Haven should be coming soon to pick up their mess and that the locks should hold until then. The creature continued after Andy, ready to make a break for it if she tried to close a door.

Andy was still running, not even thinking to close door behind her as she made it up the stairs back into the hallway with all the doors, running straight for the door on the other side. %..No! This isn't my home!! Sulia is my home!!% She had completely forgotten about the dead body laying there as she tripped over it and slammed into the ground with a sound of pain. There was the strong scent of blood as she kicked the body away from her and shrieked again, scrambling to the door and trying to open it. Locked. It was locked! She was banging on the door and even slamming her shoulder against it a few times in an attempt to break it down, trying to cry out, the words not able to be made as it just sounded like panicked screams. Haven?... No.. No!! Not again!!! Turning on her heel quickly, she dove for the Cameron's body, trying to search for anything metal on his person, an endless stream of tears, her frantic hands trying to work as fast as possible before that thing could reach her.

% Sulia? % it asked as it reached the landing and moved through the door, watching her as she searched through the body. It held the helmet open and ready to slip over her head but was first watching to see what she was doing. Was she better? was she hungry? no..she was still acting like prey. As she searched there was a key chain with three keys, a phone, a wallet, and a Norcrest army knife. On the other end of the door there was yelling and calls to shore up the door.

Andy took the keys and army knife and opened the knife, ready to use it as a weapon as she felt along the walls for another outlet. She was determined to find one now. % The Forest of Sulia is my home... Stay away from me.% she demanded as she kept her eyes in its direction, following it's light carefully to keep her distance from it.
