This was it. Last chance. Last moment to master her pain, the fear and the loneliness. Amarus brushed her fingers across the pokeballs containing her team, and not for the first time wished she could summon one of them for no other reason than the comfort of their presence. It just felt right, to be accompanied by them.
After a moment's pause, not hesitation as much as respite, Amarus threw her last ball.
The anger and heat had clearly drained out of her. She felt each new throw becoming weaker than the last. She just hoped it had been enough. Oh, how she hoped.

[ Iyari ] - Birdkeeper (Trainer) Team: - - - - - - - - - - -
When she was younger there had been a large fire that started in the forest outside of her town. At night she watched the ember glow in the night and the days were filled with darkened clouds that billowed up into the sky. After the patch of forest was put out, she remembered her mother telling her that fire was the great equalizer. Old trees were burnt down so from their ashes there could be new growth.
This... didn't feel the same.
There was something entirely different about the anger behind the flames here and Iyari rolled away from another blast, feeling burns on her legs that matched the intensity of those on her arms. Somewhere in the confusion and the flames, Erato had been injured and Iyari moved her arms to hug around the Togekiss. "Shh Erato, we'll get you a burn heal.." Though she was shaken by the fire she managed to get Erato back into her ball, but coughed and sputtered as the smoke began to fill her lungs.
All the work they had done had done as she predicted, enraged it, though now it seemed to be slowly descending as the city became further engulfed. Yvetal was more powerful than she could have imagined... Were they the only ones left? It felt like that fire back then, the one that had almost taken over their home n the trees... the Pokemon that had cried out. How had she forgotten?
It wasn't going to happen, not again.... reaching to her belt she grabbed one of her empty ultraballs. They'd worked to damage it, maybe now someone would get lucky. If not... Iyari didn't want to think about that. Instead, she pulled her arm back and tossed the ball towards it.

In the smoke she could barely see and her eyes watered, she had to take an arm to rub them. Had she even made it to the creature with the ball? Her strength wasn't up to what it usually was, so she couldn't be sure. Iyari didn't want to take another chance, however, and tossed another ball into the air quickly as the shadow moved over the smoke. Was she going to be able to catch it?
The flames continued dancing in her peripheral vision. Were they getting closer? Hopefully it could be taken care of before they were all devoured by it.

The ball landed back on the ground with a loud clank noise, clearly empty. "Hnn." Though, if they were hitting it then it would at least be weakening it. She could only hope someone would get it. With a cough and sputter, she shielded her eyes again and moved to another spot to try to get at a better position. "Someone, come on!" She cried out, choked by the smoke and coughing deeply. Darkened, black smoke swirled around her and she felt the burning from her arms, legs and deep inside and she made a last effort to toss the ball up, unaware if it would help or not.

Malkam - Duo Trainer
"Right beside you!" Malkam said, at Mik's shoulder, propping him up even though the ground was littered with fire.
It felt like...
Melody, Melody dying, over and over...
He threw the ball, way off target, barely able to stand himself.

Name: Ernest - Hunter Profession: Rabid Poke-fan Team: ------------------------ Ern looked at his Dodrio trying to rush through the flames to save people. His Exeggotor's coconut tail gave a low cry, the tall Pokemon not dealing with the fire all too well. He sighed deeply something tugging at him from a distance. A trapped being of power and stature. He tossed the ultra ball and watched it vanish into the smoke, his Dodrio screeching in encouragement. But there was no red light, no sound of a ball hitting the ground with the Pokemon inside it. In fact, he still saw the outline of the enraged legendary. "Exeggutor! Dodrio! Return! You two made me so proud!" Ern called out letting the Pokemon escape the fires that licked at his shoes and toyed with the remains of his jacket. The burn to his arm before was raw and open looking but there was no pain. He barely felt the heat around him. Clutching the ball that held his starter, he chewed the inside of his cheek. He had not used Totodile in such a long time since getting all the two headed Pokemon he could ever dream of. "Steve let's go!" he called out letting the blue croc out of it's ball. He held out the burned arm to the over excited Pokemon. Calming down at the sight of such an angry wound, the totodile began to spit water on his master trying to cool Ern. The trainer glanced back up at the legendary. "I don't want such power when I have you guys. Let's go before this gets worse." Ern lifted Totodile in his arms and began to walk away from the battle calling for the water Pokemon to try to put out as much of the fire as it could.

[Burglar Bing has had enough!] Team: Persian Mawile(BRN) Klefki Salazzle Nintales Flareon Bing was familiar with disaster. Usually, she would only experience its aftermath and scavenge the ruins for her own gain. This time was different. She had never been in the middle of such horrid turmoil with the intention of protecting others. There were already other people helping. Any one of them could have the skill or luck in them to calm the monster’s fury. What am I still here for?Her thoughts broke as she looked through the smoke and inferno. Pokemon of all varieties were fighting against the Yvetal’s overwhelming power. Among therm was her Mawile. It’s jaws were clamped tightly around the tip of one of the raging terror’s massive wings. Its body was completely black from all of the smoke and ash surrounding it’s burned body. It was in agony but it refused to let go. It was holding on for her. Why was it doing that? She was just a burglar. She had given up being a great pokemon trainer years ago. She had only battled as a means of escape or make some money for food up until now. Some of those battles were intense, but she never expected her pokemon would have grown this strong. And it was apparent that her Mawile and her other friends had grown to care for her too. “Enough! Come back, Nipper!” She called to her charred Mawile and withdrew them. She wasn’t going to let her pokemon suffer anymore. She was too busy thinking about it to even notice her own condition. Her new favorite jacket, which she spent extensive effort in stealing, was already in shambles. Her hair made the noise of tumbleweed as she moved. The crisp, black mess covered and stuck to half of her burned face. She was about to send out one of her pokemon with the ability Flash Fire when she saw the Yvetal circle downwards. It looked like it needed a moment to regain itself. That moment would have been an opportune time to flee. But the fire surrounding her reached deep into her mind. A fire raged inside of her memory. She remembered being back in Lavaridge Town watching Flannery fight other trainers. The image of the Gym Leader’s pokemon using Overheat was burned in her mind. She could feel the thrill of the fight and the bond of the trainer with their pokemon. That intense flame. She wanted it. But she never had the confidence. She idolized the gym leader but never believed she could beat them. Her journey became one of deception and theft. And despite it all, she was here. And the fire was back! She would not cower from it! She lived and breathed fire! Bing grasped a ball. She tried to run forward, but her boots had melted at the bottom and they fused to the ground. With the flames reflecting in her exposed, twitching eye, she threw her ball with all of her strength. She didn’t care about owning the pokemon, she just wanted it defeated without anyone else getting hurt. (1/3 Balls Used)

[Burglar Bing fears nothing right now!] Team: Persian Mawile(BRN) Klefki Salazzle Nintales Flareon She didn't even wait to see the result of her first throw. “Chill the hell out and get in there!” roared Bing as she lobbed another ball. As long the pokemon wasn’t rampaging anymore, she would be at peace. Her arm immediately reached through her burned clothes to grasp another ball. She didn’t expect the Yvetal to submit and she was prepared for it. (2/3 Balls Used)

[Burglar Bing loves the fire!] Team: Persian Mawile(BRN) Klefki Salazzle Nintales Flareon With her first two balls already consumed by smoke, Bing clutched her last ball and grinned. She threw it deep into the smoke. As it left her sight, she let out a deep, raspy sigh and laughed a little. There… There’s my fire. That’s all you’ll get from me. Somebody will catch you. I’m just glad I know what I want to do now. I want to go back home and start over. I’m not promising to stop stealing. But I am going to go beat gyms have great battles. Now I know I can be a great trainer like I wanted to be.(3/3 Balls Used)

[ Maple - Still the worst pokemon trainer team - Sableye, Deerling, Braixen, Mismagius, Vivillon, Deino ]
There didn't seem to be any more chance to coordinate their like the other two - apparently more capable - pokemon professionals were hoping. Because everything just... well. Maple wasn't entirely sure what was going on as everything erupted into smoke and horror.
Fire, screams of terror and most likely people dying. And so many regretted decisions. Maple once again fell into a stream of steady unsettled groaning as she now recklessly fished in her bag some more; trying to find anything that would be helpful. Especially a monster that could help her in some way - sadly, none could, none of them were fit for transportation.
What he hand finally grabbed onto was something everyone else seemed to be throwing out, trying to catch the creature it seemed to stop its utter chaos. Maple clutched the empty ulta ball and then threw it.
She saw it sail towards the smoke and brimstone but did not see exactly where it went. Well, not that she would have expected it it to, nor do really anything. It was probably destroyed.

Well that had happened, but it still wasn't exactly getting her out of this hot mess. The groaning wasn't halting either as she continued to search her bag, ignoring the wounds she was instructed to be mindful of.
Where were her pokemon? At the bottom?! - wait, yes, at the bottom. The trainer grabbed onto the first one her fingers grazed only to find yet another one of her empty ultra balls (she couldn't remember having this many before).
Out of desperation she threw the second ball as well and paid no mind how far it actually went.

Melvin Wood: Pokemon Researcher (Ancient Runes) Starter: Mareep (If we pick smile Lapras, Cofagrigus, Aerodactyl, Omanyte Saving People: (Add +2 ultra balls to your inventory). _____________________________________________________ Couching, he gripped the last ultraball given to him by the trainer who was probably long since gone now - he hoped.
"Hey there, buddy. Sorry I couldn't send you off too." He leaned against the mareep, feeling it's soft coat now torn and sizzled into matted lumps. It gave a weak call back, and he smiled against it.
"Yeah. I'm glad I met you too." To think their journey together, from that day he was so young, would be ended here.
Like so many pokemon balls before, he looked at the sheen of fire that reflected on the ball's surface before looking up at the monstrous creature above. With all he had left, he threw the ball out and into the smoke.

And for some odd reason Maple found yet another ultra ball hidden at the bottom of her pack. It probably would have been wiser to save them, but she threw it all the same like the other two she had located. Better to use it, perhaps, in a futile attempt at the gigantic pokemon that was most likely going to kill them all, right?
Yeah, that seemed logical. Completely logical.
At least it cleared up her bag enough to actually come across the balls that were actually occupied by creatures already. Maple snatched the first one, dreading and hoping at the same time for something a little useful (though, really, she didn't have any that she could gather would be against flames and destruction.)
What she had chosen as random was exactly as she figured she would find; Hex, her sableye. Good sometimes in a fight, barely listened to her and more likely to go hunt for things than anything. Maple made a frown face and quickly scooped up the beastie before he wandered towards the flames it was eyeing with wonder.
"We-we.. should r-run.. Hex..." Like she should have done in the first place!!

[Fia - Pokemon Performer] [Team: Gardevoir [Starter], Oricorio [Baile-Red], Ampharos, Ribombee, Vulpix, Arcanine [Shiny]]
Fia wanted to work towards saving others, but the roaring of Yvetal and just trying to defend her pokemon and herself was getting difficult. The legendary released more hot flames, and everything burned. She could hear Gardevoir in pain so Fia grabbed the right pokeball and called her pokemon back. "Gardevoir, return!"
"At least she'd be safe in there" Fia could barely breath with what was going on. The fire was strong and her eyes watered. Fia knew that others had attacked Yvetal. Maybe, just maybe, the Legendary would be captured.
"Go, ultra ball!"
