Callixtus looked over as the nixie- Coralie- introduced herself. Which, really, he should have thought to do earlier. He panicked internally. What was he thinking? That was very rude of him. He probably made a terrible first impression and she would probably hate him. That would make the rest of the trip very awkward- being tied together to someone that hated you. "Oh. Umm. I'm Callixtus. It is very nice to meet you. I suppose you're stuck with me for the moment, literally and figuratively."He chuckled, trying to cover up his internal crisis. Luckily, he didn't have long to ponder over it, as they made their way through the barrier and into the the fog. The sensation was... odd, to say the least. "It is umm. Quite dark." He mumbled, glancing about, not able to see very far- their lamp seemed to illuminate very little. "I guess... I guess we are just supposed to wait here for everyone else?"

Bridgette kept up either he joking making sure people were okay. She let out a sigh of relief when they finally made it to their destination. Thank goodness that hike was over. A lot of people seemed to have gotten injured and she was worried about those people but she was glad they had made it here. Where here was. She looked around and listened to Claire and nodded her head. Okay that all seemed to make sense. She looked over and toon the things they needed. She grinned when she saw who she was tied to. "Hey Tambre." It was the woman she had sat next to on the bus. She looked her over and was pleased to see she was unharmed. "Seems we are teamed up together to try not to get lost. I hope this goes well and I'm really curious to see what is on the other side of all this." She looked around not sure which way to go and frowned slightly a bit worried about all this.

Naosu smiled pleasantly. "That's okay. Naosu isn't in any rush at all. If we make it, then we make it, and Naosu is very stubborn." It was then however that she realized just why Rei might be worried about slowing her down. "Oh, you're hurt? Here, lean on Naosu so you don't have to walk on it." They would get through sooner or later.

Claire had been ready. Here it was, the big event! They had realized awhile back they had an odd amount of people in the group, which meant they needed to help someone. That was good though, because if Claire was being honest, and they were, they were terrified of going alone! So, after pairing everyone together, that left Nadinia to be their lucky partner.
Now, after Claire got over just how pretty the other was, they were all smiles and a bright energy as they hooked themselves to Nadinia with the rope.
"Looks like it's you and me, pal!" Claire chirped, grinning ear to ear. "Don't worry, I do this all the time, so I got you!"
After introductions were over, Claire had begun moving the two of them towards the barrier. Much to their surprise, the heavy weight they had felt coming up to the barrier dissipated like butter, allowing them through as if the barrier had just been some silly internet rumor. Blinking back surprise, they had arrived shortly behind the first group to get through the barrier, turning to Naidina with a surprised laugh.
"W-well, I guess that wasn't so bad? Was it me or did the barrier feel like it was wavering? Huh, weird. Lucky us, though!" Well, now they had the honor of being the first tour group to ever get through the barrier. Ever. They were going into the history books, people!

Having been bounced out by the barrier in her first attempts, Niamh kept trying, but... didn't make it in. She made a loud URGH noise, and squared up. She wasn't giving up!

(1, 10, 25, 35, 45, or 50) Nashira waited for her partner, and out of the corner of her eye, saw Callixtus and his partner vanish into the trees. She gasped in surprise, and then saw Claire and Nadinia vanish too. Oh that was just a little freaky. What if they never came back out?

Bridgette waited for her partner and looked around as a few people disappeared. She hoped that was a good thing and meant that they had made it paste the barrier. She was starting to get nervous and hoped that her and Tambre would be able to get through this forest and past that barrier. She didn't know what lay beyond it but she was determined to find out. She looked down at the rope that couldn't be cut by anyone but Claire. That seemed really interesting and she wanted to know how it worked. She looked over to the woods again and chewed on her lip.

Nadinia stood with the others, listening with care to Claire's instructions. One by one, she watched her friends get paired up, and tied together. For one reason or another, after each set of names was call, she drifted forward. Her hand drifted towards the marked tree, giving it a gentle caress. "Be good to us. I'm sure you're a lovely tree, but I'd only like to see you once!"
Only half realizing it, she noticed she was the last tour-group who wasn't attached to someone else. A brief moment of worry passed over the Dryad, but then Claire approached. She gave them a big smile, and wiped a stray strand of her from her face.
"I must be the luckiest one of all then! You probably know exactly what we need to do, don't you?" She gave a goodbye pat to the white painted tree, wishing it goodbye, hopefully for a good long while.
A weight started to sink onto Nadi, a rather uncomfortable feeling, as far as the Dryad was concerned. She reached her hand out towards Claire, slightly after. And then, as soon as it had started, it was over. ... And there was no tree in sight. ... They'd done it? Just like that?
Nadi cracked a huge grin. "Wow. Just wow. That was all you wasn't it?" Despite the pressure being gone, the dark seemed to press in just as hard. Nadi held up her lantern, trying to see a little further, but it seemed to be of no use.
"Huh... This isn't very much like the Above I'm used to." She was looking at Claire in a new light now, after the bee incident. Perhaps they were just afraid of bees, or some such.

T'kani frowned slightly when she was isolated from her friends once again, nervous about being paired with someone she didn't know on what sounded like the start of a dangerous trip. Then again, that was why she decided to sign up for this, right?
Waving at the dryad as they were tied together, she signed a quick greeting, hoping for the best. Hello! My name is T'kani, who are you?

Claire had begun looking around them, mouth parting in open awe as they observed just how dark everything was. If they weren't thinking, they would have thought they were in Below!
"You're right!" Claire confirmed, smiling a bit nervously towards Nadinia, the nerves replaced with sudden realization. "Oh, you know, you're one of the first to ever step in this forest! I wonder how different this place really is from the rest of Above!" Oh shoot, they still needed to wait for everyone else! If they got through, and the other group did, too, then the others shouldn't be too far behind, either!
Reaching for their knife, they cut Nadinia free from them, placing their knife away as they settled on a nearby tree root. "That was fun, though. Thanks for being my partner! Say, what made you come on this tour, anyway?"

Samhain groaned as he came into view of the white paint again. Then again none of the trip so far had been easy. Well the wood gathering hadn’t really been that hard, but he could have done without the hike from the camping site to here. Boulders and bees abound… weren’t really what he thought when he had signed the waiver. However complaining wouldn’t get him anywhere and off to retry he went.

"I...Should be okay." speaking rather slowly, Rei tried to keep smiling, but the twinges of pain from her ankle kept her from remaining overly enthusiastic. Still, she tried to remain at least pleasant to her partner. "I hope this trip has...not caused you grief...Naosu." Another kind smile was interrupted by a hiss when they were, once again, repelled by the barrier.
