Cheri stared in (unobvious) agitation. She’d missed every single one of the platters and received a meager one token as consolation. Which was rather insulting to be honest. She tucked the coin away in her bag, hauling it over her shoulder and turning to make her way for another game when the sound of soft jingling right behind her caught her attention.
"Wow, I haven’t seen anyone miss them all before!" A voice chimed. Cheri just stared, head turning to direct her attention to the pokemon sitting nearby. The Shinx’s tail was wagging from side to side as he watched the Espurr thoughtfully; he didn’t even seem to flinch at the eerie stare of hers. No, he seemed more caught up in her recent failures.
Cheri said nothing, causing the Shinx to tilt his head. "Do you usually miss them all? I saw you at the bean bag toss… you did really well there." Cheri just stared. Was this thing… stalking her? There were so many pokemon wandering the area, it was hard to tell when that kind of thing was happening. Still failing to respond she made her way on to another game. The crossbow challenge went a lot better this time; probably because she figured out how to aim it. "Nice!" Cheri turned and stared again as the Shinx cheered her quality shots. No seriously, what was this thing doing following her?

Cheri gave the bobbing for berries a go, only managing to grab two berries in the process. It was kind of hard to be honest; the bucket was considerably larger than her and trying to keep herself from falling in while fishing out berries was a difficult task.
"You should get a ladder. Or have someone to hold you up." The Shinx remarked. He was still following her for… whatever reason. Whether she was becoming annoyed or not with this thing following her wasn’t obvious. But her stares in his direction certainly didn’t seem to indicate an appreciation for the random camaraderie.

Cheri continued to ignore the Shinx as it followed after her. She had no idea why he was following her and rightly didn’t care either. She was on a mission to restore the coin amount of her satchel. She returned to the bean bag toss game but luck was not on her side. Her brow actually seemed to furrow a bit as she received just two tokens. "Ouch… that hurts." The Shinx remarked, earning a swift stare-glare from the Espurr.
"Here, lemme try!" He remarked, ushering off to the catapulting game to give it a go. He seemed to take a moment to actually aim and adjust the catapult to his preferred specifications before finally launching the plushie almost the entire distance earning the max amount of tokens possible. Cheri just stared a moment; whether she was impressed or not, it wasn’t possible to tell.

"How was that?" The Shinx inquired as he padded his way back over to Cheri. She just stared at him before promptly snatching the tokens from him and storing them away in her bag. He frowned a bit, eyeing her as she shut the bag and proceeded to the next game. The platter game went about as well as she’d expected, with her breaking two of the three.
Before she had a chance to do it though, the Shinx had accomplished the crossbow game on his own in much the same manner as the catapulting one. He didn’t hesitate to hand over the tokens to Cheri of course; she would’ve snatched them either way.

"Oh, by the way. Here." The Shinx remarked, turning and retrieving a little paper from the pouch at his hip. Cheri’s head tilted just a bit as he handed it over; it was a betting ticket for the races. She took a moment to check the boards and sure enough… this was a first place ticket.
"It any good?" The Shinx inquired. Cheri was really hard to read so his next best bet was to just too straight up ask her. She didn’t answer though, instead toddling off to turn the ticket in and retrieve the winnings. Well… she didn’t seem to not appreciate it.

As Riley walked around the fair, she was increasingly aware of mouth-watering scents drifting through the air. She began seeking them out while still playing games. She paused to play a bean bag toss, but when she tried to play a shatter the platter game she was so distracted she didn't hit a single one! "Waahhh, it smells so good." With a watering mouth, she hurried around the kitchens, unable to believe how much different amazing food there was. People were all over, learning to cook, walking in and out of taverns, sitting on picnic tables and the grass. A bunch of people even had all of their pokemon out! "Oooh, we should get something and then sit all together!" First though, she had to decide on what to get.
"So this is what you’re doing, hm?" Lafayette paused in the middle of shoveling a spoonful of food into his mouth, a bit of a groan erupting as his gaze shifted to the spot next to him. Of course, who would be seated there, watching him as though he were some specimen in a lab than Juliean himself? The man had a bit of annoyed expression on his face as he stared the blonde down, fingers tapping lightly at the side of his face as his chin was cupped in his palm. Lafayette didn’t remark, instead shifting a bit as his pokemon all proceeded to look up and watch the exchange.
"Please, explain to me how this is anything along the lines of what I’ve asked you to do? No wait… ordered you to do, Lala?" Juliean inquired, his head tilting to the side in a sort of faux display of questioning. The blonde just rolled his eyes, finishing the bite of food he was currently working on before he finally answered. "It ain’ mate." He pointed the spoon at the man. "I caugh’ those pokies fah yeh and got a badge too.""Yes I noticed it was suddenly raining balls out of nowhere." Juliean snidely remarked.
At the mention he fished the badge case out and chucked it on the table so that it slid in the man’s direction. The fellow snatched it up without much hesitation, opening the lid and staring at the single badge that resided there before giving Lafayette a bit of a look.

"Oh it’s not just badges too. I need to you fetch some things for me as well." Lafayette groaned. Of course there was a catch. When was there ever not a catch? There was no arguing it though and apparently the quicker he got this all done, the faster he could be back at the fair and enjoying himself. Fine. Whatever. Juliean noted the agitation, a sly grin crossing his face as he reached a hand out and patted Lafayette on the side of his head.
"Maybe you should’ve used that small brain of yours to think this through before lollygagging on your work." Withdrawing his hand he stood, adjusting his coat and ushering his Alakazham from its waiting place. "I’ll let you know where you need to go once you’ve gotten that third badge." Juliean remarked and much before Lafayette could say anything, he’d disappeared in a blink of an eye. Well… that was fun.

With his meal abruptly interrupted by his boss, Lafayette sighed and pushed himself up from his seat. "C’mon mates… we need the find Cheri…," He murmured, gaze narrowed in agitation. Well, the sooner he got all this mess done, the quicker he could get back to enjoying himself. He hadn’t quite seen all the fair had to offer after all; there were plays to see and he wanted to give the sparring area another go. Plus, he was still collecting tokens. Once his team was gathered and finished he started moving along back towards the entrance of the fair as he did. Hopefully he’d find her as they did.

Riley paused when she felt a tap on her shoulder. "I want to walk around a bit more." Riley was floored. Did...did Kuraz just say that he wanted something? And was he asking if it was okay?? Riley beamed. "Okay. I'll get extra for when you come back." Kuraz nodded and left. Riley noticed his hand kept going to the pommel of his new sword, and it made her happy.
Kuraz could make out the sound of weapons clashing over the myriad hubble of the crowd. Curious, he came to the wooden fence encircling a long dirt field. He recognized it at once as one meant for jousting, and happily tried his luck at placing a bet. Mael had always been better at these things... he thought ruefully to himself. When his choice came in last, he collected the tickets for Riley and tried to look for something to take his mind off the jousting. He found a crossbow range, and the satisfying jolt of shooting followed by the heavy thunk of the bolt sinking into wood appeased his dark thoughts. On his back, the egg twitched.
Riley tallied out her pokemon in her head and went to a big booth that looked like it was especially made for helping people get food for all their pokemon. Riley decided to let Mochi out to help carry everything. Her head may be on fire, but she was the only pokemon she had with opposable thumbs aside from Kuraz. Vanyel probably didn't count. Laden with yummy food, Riley, Mochi, and Seul walked to the big grassy area where people could sit down to eat. There was a cool-looking girl there with a whole bunch of her pokemon out, and Riley decided to sit nearby. "Hi!" she said, "Do you mind if me and my pokemon sit here?" she asked, referring to the spot next to her. She noticed one pokemon she hadn't seen before, a little blue cat-like pokemon, and she couldn't help but stare. S-so cute... It reminded her she still had a long way to go to fill up her pokedex.
Deeper in the fair, Kuraz tried the shatter the platter game. He was surprised to find that destroying one of the plates was not satisfying. He did not like destroying things so completely. No, that's Mael's job, he thought bitterly. He still was plagued with doubts, wondering why Mael had left the egg with him (yes, he knew the egg was the correct one and had used it as an excuse to stay with Riley a while longer). Kuraz was distracted when he went to the bean bag toss, but he still got a good prize from it. He took the tickets because he knew it would make Riley happy.
Kuraz continued, doing a good job on the catapault game because he had seen Riley play it. When he came to the bobbing for berries game, he was determined to beat her score of six. He dipped his muzzle into the water and closed his teeth around a berry. He spat it out and was about to go for another when a loud sound came from the incubator on his back. Eyes wide, he shrugged it off his shoulders and ran behind a tent, placing it on the ground. He took off the top so the pokemon that came out would have somewhere to go. When the top of the eggshell cracked and fell away, revealing a patch of bright silver fur, Kuraz felt his heart go all lopsided in a way he hadn't felt since before Mael left. "Eee!" He held out a paw to the small eevee, glad he had hidden away where no one could see his tears. "My princess..." he breathed. She batted his paw with her head, demanding he pet her. What a strange thing, for him to be the one here, in this moment.
