The hitch in her voice was impossible to miss. He pressing his hands into her stomach gently and said, "That's the most bullshit joke," like he hadn't heard her at all. "******** you, eagles, this was world-saving s**t they needed help with."

Her sleeve went to her face again but this time she got the rest of it. At least she wasn't sobbing- that would have been something she never lived down.

"
Frodo awoke in the house of healing and she at least felt a little better about it. "C'mon no one cares about the midgets get back t'Aragorn."

"******** 'em both, then."

As he thumbed her fingers, Jack couldn't help but smile a little at her impatience. Despite Chel having seen this movie who knew how many times, she still had genuine reactions like this was her first viewing, and he found it endearing.

"He'll get some time," he assured her. "Still has an elf wife to get back to."

And get back he did as the scene played out with Gandalf crowning Aragorn as the king of Gondor.

"Holy s**t I forgot he sings," Chel said, mouth agape with disbelief.

"Huh." It wasn't a bad voice either, though....why did he...Jack didn't bother to ask, assuming it was something from the books. "My voice is better, but he's alright."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 27, 2016 6:55 pm

"I like yers better anyways," she agreed. Jack's singing voice was almost as common as silence in the house by now.

Then the banner came away and Arwen was revealed in all her elfy glory. Between the flower petals and the music it really looked like a wedding. Even more solidified with Aragorn's kiss.

"She's pretty as ********," Chel commented, not without lust in her eyes.

It was apropros to watch that particular scene right after theirs, and with that sort of timing he almost wondered if Chel had also planned that too somehow. Everything else had been on point, why not? He was reminded of when they had watched the first movie, when they both had drawn eyes on Arwen as (then rare) common ground.

"Always has been," Jack said. She was still the classic pale beauty to him, but she was an ideal best left to imagination and fiction; the imperfect woman in his arms, scarred and warm and rebellious, was much better. "There's an idea for the anniversary--bunch of flowers stuck in your hair," he added with a small grin.

"Yer already thinkin' anniversary when we just got married," she said, shaking her head.

"Cut you a deal." Always deals and bets and bargains. "I did this honeymoon, you do the anniversary." She leaned into his arms. "Good luck beatin' me though."

"What can I say, you've made me optimistic. I won't be able to beat this," he admitted with a squeeze. "But I'll try to get it close." And considering how competitive they usually were, to put it like that was a definite sign of the impact her plans had made. "And then you'll get to gloat afterwards all you want."

While the kingdom of Gondor bowed to the hobbits, Chel took the opportunity to kiss him soundly, because she didn't know how else to express the hazy drunkenness he'd put her in (or, perhaps, that was just the actual hazy drunkenness talking).

"Don't ********' p***y out like that. You an' I both know yer gonna do it better. Y'always do, princey ********>." Frodo's voice took over hers, detailing how the hobbits returned to the shire, how things were never quite the same. Sam married Rosie. It should have been sweet but Chel couldn't help but smirk at how much the wedding compared to a single kiss between Aragorn and Arwen. She hoped her kiss at the wedding had been half as passionate.

Finally Frodo boarded the ship to the undying lands. "An' the fat lady finally sings, babe."

He wasn't in as much of a haze as she was, but he still melted into the kiss and might have let the movie run its course unwatched if the blankets hadn't put him in such a cozy position. Jack chose not to say anything as far as the anniversary for now--that was a later thing if there ever was one.

"So he gets to go to elf heaven basically?" he asked as Frodo departed on a ship. "Live forever? Sounds like a small nightmare after everything that happened."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 28, 2016 10:03 am

"I think he lives with like some angel elves or somethin'? Maybe he gets a harem of elf bitches." It certainly sounded like heaven to her when phrased that way.

Credits began to roll, but Chel didn't stir. She thought maybe if she moved it might disappear. Instead she turned to get more comfortable facing him, rather than the TV. "Thoughts?" Chel had already seen the movie so her opinion didn't matter much; Jack's was bound to be much more interesting.

He snorted, but he supposed a harem was the least Frodo deserved after months (years?) of that mental and physical torture. Jack still didn't like the idea of living forever after that, though; being timeless didn't erase memories.

He hummed in thought as he loosened his home to let Chel pivot towards him. "I liked it," he replied eventually. "I don't really get why some of it happened, but...it's special. We watched those movies at drastically different points in our life, but it almost feels like they were a parallel, sort of."

As per usual, Jack didn't know how to explain something this abstract. It was familiar now.

"It's like...It was our thing. And now that we're done, I'm kinda sad. Even if it's one less thing you can hang over me."

"Mmm," Chel said in agreement to all of his statements as she began trace the veins on his arm. "I thought about not doin' it. Like draggin' it out might mean we still got somethin' saved up. Somethin' t'look forward to."

"But-" and she said this but the same way a person sighed. "I figured we got a lot more movies t'watch since we livin' 'til 80."

Something to tie them together if nothing else would, he mused, though he didn't know if she meant it as such.

"Well, thank you for showing me," he said with a smile. "Really. Owain also appreciated it." And he knew that part was very important. "Didn't they make like prequels to this? Are they any good?"
