Clara looked at him with surprise and then she smiled softly. "Well I am honored that you would tell me then." She let her arms fall from around him as she looked around the kitchen. She had no idea what she was doing; although it felt right to be comforting him.

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí smirked slightly. "What else goes into this... `shepard's pie`? I have to admit, I'm curious," he said softly, trying not to blush as she turned away.

"Well everyone makes it a little differently," Clara said as she glanced at him with a smile. "So we have the potatoes and ground beef started. I need to cut up the mushrooms and make the brown gravy. That's usually all I put in it because I am not a fan of cooked vegetables. You can put any vegetables you want in it."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí tilted his head thoughtfully. "I can handle the mushrooms pretty quick," he said with a small smile. He glanced down, spotting the drawers before he opened the second one down, blinking in mild surprise as he noticed the knife inside, along with several other unfamiliar knives.

Kaosujin Ryu had another idea for another rp if you're up to it xD ....it is a cop x mafia boss' daughter. Cop is trying to take down this big time mafia boss and he thinks the best way is through the daughter. There are whispers that she doesn't agree with her father's doings. He approaches her with a proposition of helping him, but the only way he can do that is from the inside. So he proposes that he poses as her new boyfriend....and of course as time goes on they really do start to form a relationship "Thank you," Clara said as she watched him for a moment. She turned to the meet, stirring it. "Alright meat and potatoes are done," she murmured as she put water into a smaller pot to get it ready for the gravy. "You know...I feel oddly comfortable here."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí smoothly sliced the mushrooms into fine slices and halves. "Hmmm, you know, I think this is the first time... in a very long time, that I've actually been in a home with someone else... much less someone of the opposite sex," he said with a small smile as he flipped one of the mushrooms before slicing it into quarters in rapid movements before twisting the knife and letting it spin on his fingertips, unaware of it's blurred movements that looked like a buzzsaw.

Clara smiled as she turned to watch him cut up the mushrooms. He moved so quickly, so gracefully. "I've been by myself since my parents died. So this is relatively new to me too." She leaned against the counter, her head tilted to the side. She pushed herself away from the counter, getting a bowl and swiping the mushrooms into them. "Thank you so much."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí sighed. "I know exactly what that's like... not very fun... and rather lonely," he said with a soft sigh as he leaned against the counter before he fluidly began making the drinks. "An ounce of cinnamon whiskey, a quarter ounce of raspberry liqueur, quarter ounce of lime juice, and the rest is lemonade... usually four ounces," he said quietly as he made the drinks, adding ice before upending the mix before pouring it into a couple of cups. His fluid movements made it very obvious he was a bartender at one time. "The other's remarkably easy, and best at room temperature or slightly chilled. One tablespoon white chocolate and two of peanut butter... creamy's best... and an ounce of fine Irish whiskey. Eight seconds dry shake and four with a half dozen pieces of ice... and done."

Clara smiled as she watched him make the drinks. "Well call me crazy but I think you may have been a bartender at one point in your life." As he had been making the drinks she was finishing up everything else. She mixed the gravy and mushroom in with the hamburger before pulling out a large pan. "So first we do potatoes on the bottom, add the hamburger mixture and some shredded cheese. Put the rest of the potatoes and then more cheese." Clara opened the oven and put the pan in, turning on the heat. "Thirty minutes or so and it will be done."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí tilted his head, thoughtful. "In the early 1890s, I was," he said with a faint smirk. He exhaled softly, glancing out of the window before he blinked, seeing bats swarming out of a crack in the back of the yard.

Clara chuckled as she shook her head. "I keep forgetting how old you are." She pushed away from the counter with a sigh. While this place was nice to be in, it was still all so crazy. The way her life had changed so drastically. She looked over at Jianlei, seeing him staring out the window. Clara moved to the window, looking out to see the bats. "What's...that?"

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí looked out the window before he jumped slightly, not noticing one of the small kittens clambering its way up his back until its head was poking over his shoulder. "Myotis lucifugus, a common small brown bat... though... ," he said with a gasp of surprise as he saw larger bats amongst them, ones that were most certainly not native to the area. "Huh, and Acerodon jubatus," he said with some surprise.

Clara stood silently by Jianlei's side, watching the bats. She wrapped her arms around herself. "There are so many of them," she said softly without looking at the man next to her. For some reason the bats made her uneasy when they never had before.

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí smirked slightly. "Just so you know, for the most part, that idea of shifting among vampires... is a myth. It does do well for scaring the holy hell out of people. As far as I know, there are perhaps a dozen in the world at most that can shift forms. And those... are harmless bats. Myotis lucifugus eats insects for the most part, while Acerodon jubatus, the giant golden crowned flying fox... eats fruit," he said with amusement.

Clara looked over at Jianlei. "I've never seen bats in this area before," she said with a small shrug of her shoulders. She turned to the oven, opening it and pulling out the food. The smell filled the room and it made her mouth water and her stomach gurgle.
